LCG Members Letting Contentions Divide Them

The weekly smackdown has been a little late each week because the boys in Charlotte caught on that someone was passing it on to me each week BEFORE it was read in church.

Nevertheless, here is Doug's latest smackdown of LCG members who just can never seem to do anything right.

Unlike the church members in Paul's time who worked TOGETHER due to their love for each other, today's church members are a contentious lot who are not of the same mind and therefore constantly being divided for one reason or another. Not that any minister would EVER do such a thing, just the lowly sheeple who are at fault.

Kind of like when Rod Meredith and his buddies plotted in the background to start the Global Church of God while the Worldwide Church of God was defending him for libeling Leona McNair. While WCG was doing this his cohorts were working in the background to steal member lists from the mother church. Then, not content with their own new splinter group divisions soon split the church as Meredith and others stirred the pot again by creating division and contention in the Global Church of God.  Just like before, the same miscreants were plotting to form a new splinter group that Meredith could just waltz right over to never having to worry for a minute whether he was still getting paid.

Before the boys in Charlotte start blaming members for not working together, causing contentions, and being divisive, they need to get their own house in order.

The Importance of Working Together: Jesus called His disciples “friends” and encouraged them to “love one another” (John 15:12–17). The Apostle Paul referred to those who assisted him in his ministry as "my fellow workers" (Romans 16:3Colossians 4:11), and Church members as "workers together" with God (2 Corinthians 6:1). These unique opportunities come with important responsibilities, and the Scriptures provide practical guidelines for working together. We are to be of the same mind and not let contentions divide us (1 Corinthians 1:10–13). We are advised to avoid being haughty, conceited, or ambitious for a position or recognition, but to work together peacefully and in harmony (Romans 12:16–18). We are reminded that repeating rumors disrupts friendships (Proverbs 17:9) and that a converted person is “easily entreated” (James 3:17KJV). As we learn to “love one another” and treat each other as friends, we will be more effective “fellow workers” for the Kingdom of God.

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Douglas S. Winnail

  1. Unfortunately, all of these "be nice" injunctions in the scriptures have gone down the toilet since Covid, politics and a myriad of conspiracy theories of our times have settled in to grace the churches. This is true all over the country in every denomination. "We are not divided, all one body weeeee, One in hope and doctrine. One in chariteeee" is a long past dream in the Churches of God and they can't sing that hymn anymore with a straight face. It's over. They just don't realize it or do and hope it ain't so.

    1. In fact, the song you referenced, "Onward Christian Soldiers," is NOT in the COGWA hymnal!

You'll have to ask them why...

  2. LCG members should demand to know what their leaders' secretive salaries are!
I estimate Winnail's secret salary is between $450,000 and $650,000 per year!

  3. Another problem of the "be nice" teaching is that some members will try to put it into practice, while others won't. The result is that the those who try are eaten alive by those who don't. I don't believe that the ministers are ignorant of this.
Note how such injuctures never have a by-the-way, be sure to defend your boundaries by rebuking your brother, and treat him like a heathen if he refuses to repent.

  4. @ 6:04 AM, it's his expense account that should raise eyebrows. His salary is under $180K, but that doesn't tell the whole story.

    1. Even if it is around the $180k mark, this is outrageous. He actually repeats most of his articles and messages, and is pretty much a figure head role.

  5. Why did Wally Smith take Weston's place writing this latest LCG update?

  6. Everything is a lie. Especially politics, religion, and journalism. When people leave the church they remain brainwashed on many other fonts. Shame on them.

  7. "a myriad of conspiracy theories"

Dennis, if you don't like conspiracy theories stop watching American news.

  8. What has become of the "MUNSON" group that left LCG over the Covid issue?

  9. "His salary is under $180K"

In grand ACOG tradition, it would be closer to $500K .. the poor donors have no idea!

Most charities & religions are corrupt these days!

  10. Comment was made saying: "...Before the boys in Charlotte start blaming members for not working together, causing contentions, and being divisive, they need to get their own house in order..."
    ******
The "boys," former "little helpers" of HWA, like "babes" still drinking "milk of the word," have not, and will not, get their house in order as has been evidenced by their confusion, their seeking another Jesus very soon to arrive on earth to reign on earth 1,000 years, still erroneously thinking their Jesus as the God of the Old Testament. Why not? Well, which organization/Ass. has been planted by God?

"But he (Jesus of Bible: not "another Jesus" created by these hirelings, which is more of a Mickey Mouse version over some imaginary kingdom to come on earth 1,000 years and then fail!) answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up." Matthew 15:13

Where is the proof that the Father planted Doug's living organization? We know Dave Pack is way off in some "left field." How different is living? Time is telling!

Well, Doug encourages us with this:

"...As we learn to “love one another” and treat each other as friends, we will be more effective “fellow workers” for the Kingdom of God..."

Jesus treated the 2 thieves, who learned to hate evil, hanging beside Him as friends, didn't He? They're both going to be in Paradise, and they had nothing to boast about.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Will Doug present something to boast about? Salvation isn't by works of self.

Is Doug encouraging us to somehow impress God so we can boast how friendly we've been?

Doug, both thieves will be in God's kingdom: paradise, if you will! Doug is blind to understand how that will happen, and it is a done deal from God's perspective.

How about Judas? He was a friend (Jesus said so) of Jesus!

Matthew 26:45 "Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take [your] rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him."

Yes, Judas also learned to hate evil, and even though he was caught up in it, he will also be in God's kingdom. Why not? Did Judas and/or the thieves have too many trespasses?

Here is something the Apostle Paul said, but Doug cannot preach at this time:

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;..." 2 Cor 5:19

Doug, did God lie to us? Did Jesus lie? Did Paul lie to us?

For Doug and his "living" followers, here's a hint:

"Man’s goings [are] of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?" Prov 20:24

Of course, that is only part of a beautiful picture of how God, the LORD, does things, and that verse says nothing about Jesus Christ.

Are Doug and the former hirelings of WCG with their differing gospels not understanding his/their "own way" and are illustrating their confusion by existing in all sorts of different factions, splits, and proving it to all of us daily...while they wait for "another Jesus" to soon show up?

    Friends, time will tell...

    John

  11. @7:19 AM - and yet he was the first person to "spank" other ministers for what he considered to be excessive spending...I once paid $100 out of my own pocket for an expense that would have been considered reasonable and appropriate by any other corporation...just to shut him up.

  12. It's a bad sign when any charity of church does not open its books for scrutiny.
You wonder about the closed-door backroom deals at WCG..LCG....
Did you see the CNBC-Kevin O'Leary interview where they outed his $15m payment from FTX!

  13. You shall know them by their fruits.

Does Dave prove that the Bible is nutty?

  14. This is another typical Winnail booster of indoctrination; it’s rehearsed with the purpose of keeping the people in their place.

However, when a church that claims to be original Christianity fails to preach what was/is so important to original Christians, like Jesus, grace, and justification, peace will be fleeting peace and strife will be constant.

  15. Oh please, the ministry want the brethren in contention with each other. Its easier to control and destroy. Many ministers and wives are very immature and easily provoked to jealousy.

  16. This past week, Gerald Weston gave orders that all LCG congregations must lock their doors shut as soon as services begin and remain locked for the duration of services. There are rumors that someone may have threatened them. We all know about the shooting years ago...
Or it could be another form of control on their part to make sure everyone is there on time. It seems more and more people come in late now.
Does anyone know anything about this? Weston hasn't even explained to the area "pastors" the reason for doing this. Nothing like being open with "the brethren".
