Dave Pack: Our Passed Over

David Passed Over

David C. Pack of The Restored Church of God blinked first during this week's prophetic staring contest. If anyone wondered if he would backpedal before his Night To Be Much Observed deadline, it was a no-brainer.

During the April Fool's edition of "The Greatest Unending Story! (Part 432)," Dave was adamant he knew the day and hour for the arrival of the Kingdom of Dave.

Part 432 – April 1, 2023

@ 29:39 What an amazing thing that all mankind will awaken into the Night To Be Much Observed [April 5].

@ 35:46 we expect Christ sometime before sundown Jerusalem time on Wednesday. Because He can’t come to us at the start of the Night To Be Much Observed, which is (literally) 12:01 our time here…Just think, right at noon is seven o’clock sundown in Jerusalem. Noon here. Just here…He has to come to us before that. He says He does. So, sometime before noon Wednesday…is the time this has to happen.

All that repetition sounds very specific and sure.

The Kingdom of Dave begins Wednesday, April 5, at 12:01 PM ET.

There appears to be some wiggle room with “has to happen.” Perhaps the author of this Pathetic Update in Member Services yesterday skipped Part 432 and refused to take notes since everything Dave says is only momentarily relevant.

Prophecy Update

April 4, 2023

We still cannot discern the precise hour. Don’t be discouraged. Wait for it!

There is a near infinite array of when and how this one week exactly sits. It will not come and go as it does in the life of every Christian. So hold on to a few points:

• Many verses say the hour of the Day of the Lord is unknown. I know of at least 8. Mark 13:35 allows for a 12-hour range—maybe because sunup is when God intends people first hear the truth, having skipped the Night to be Much Observed.

• No wonder other verses say we can’t think or know the hour the week starts. One week cannot start on time and end late. Both must slide as a unit together to the unknown hour that Christ the thief comes.

The important thing is that we take the Passover symbols with the solemnity it commands, “showing the Lord’s death till He come” some time afterwards. Also, on a round earth, some of you will undoubtedly keep the Night to be Much Observed, and others will not get to it.

David C. Pack

Oh, wait. David C. Pack wrote that. This further proves that he disregards his own words and self-induces willful amnesia.

“There is a near infinite array of when and how…”

Doctrinal precision in The Restored Church of God went out the window years ago. Rightly dividing the word of truth is for suckers. Maybe ALL 800 hours of the Series were a waste after all.

Being exact and careful with the Scriptures is not a factor when Bible prophecy is handled by an amateur physicist pointing out the nearly infinite array of possibilities. Perhaps in an alternate Marvel universe, David C. Pack is correct. Even once. But that is not part of the infinite array we are stuck with here.

The one certainty in the cosmos is that whatever David C. Pack declares about the return of Jesus Christ or the coming Kingdom of God, it will NOT happen on those days. In a funny way, for those of us who want our Savior's return to be soon, we need Dave to keep his mouth shut so God has a few days left on the calendar to fulfill His will.

“…and others will not get to it.”

Everyone tonight in The Restored Church of God will paint on smiles and talk around the topic of the Kingdom of Dave. They will focus on the “good parts” if the Series even comes up. Dirty dishes will be filling the sinks of RCG members all over the world. If they have hope but not faith, they will clean them.

David C. Pack just spoiled another Holy Day season.

Dr. Herman L. Hoeh committed the most tremendous disservice in COG history by telling a budding narcissist at Ambassador Collage that his last name means Passover. The crowing about that has been echoing through 50 years of recent history.

First, David C. Pack’s parents teach him how special he is because he doodies in the toilet, not in his pants. Then, Dr. Hoeh inflates him further by reinforcing the notion that Dave is somehow more special than all the other ministerial wannabes in The Worldwide Church of God in Pasadena. After you got a few drinks in him, Dr. Hoeh must have chuckled at how amusing that idea actually was, and he "just wanted to give the young fella a boost."

It is too bad how seriously David C. Pack took that idea.

The Pastor General of The Restored Church of God has taken the "David Passover" ball to run up and down the field doing victory dances while falling flat on his face. Not only was he "called into the ministry" and "worked closely with Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong," but he is also “David Passover.” Surely, that has to mean something.

In more recent years, the importance of his name has grown.

His first name is David, just like King David. But the Scriptures also use David in prophetic verses to mean David Pack, not the ancient David. Wow, that is pretty cool. He is also a Levite. And just like HWA, David C. Pack is a physical descendant of the ancient King David. So, he claims.

David and Solomon had so many offspring there could reasonably be tens of thousands of people alive today who share DNA with the ancient David.

But none of that matters when you are a false prophet claiming God’s authority.

Maybe Dr. Hoeh meant to say, “Your name means Passed Over.”

David C. Pack has been “passed over” as fulfilling prophecy.

David C. Pack has been “passed over” as an apostle.

David C. Pack has been “passed over” as Joshua the High Priest.

David C. Pack has been “passed over” as Elijah the Prophet.

David C. Pack has been “passed over” as That Prophet.

David C. Pack is forever disqualified. Every word out of his mouth is passed over.

  1. But, he combs his hair the right way, wears the approved clothes, and keeps the sabbath! Aren't those all signs from God that Dave is His messenger? I mean, wouldn't a perfect God allow his messenger to make a mistake or two?

  2. No wonder Dave is stuck. If he fancies himself a Levitical priest, he has no part in Jesus Christ, a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Not to mention, he is not indwelled by the Holy Spirit (to Whom Dave refers to as an "it") thus CANNOT understand Scripture.

"If then, perfection had been achieved through the Levitical priesthood (on the basis of which the people received the law), what need would there have been to appoint a priest according to the order of Melchizedek, instead of choosing a priest according to the order of Aaron? When there is a CHANGE IN PRIESTHOOD, there is NECESSARILY A CHANGE OF LAW". Hebrews 7:11-12.

All Cog members, please ponder the consequences of the above passage from Hebrews and ask yourself why you feel bound to a law that changed when the priesthood changed from Levitical/Aaronic to Jesus. And all RCG members, I pray for you everyday. This man has made a mockery of Jesus and profanes Who and what he cannot comprehend. Why have you chosen Dave over Jesus? Please get out now! This man is a fool leading his members to hell, unless they get out and lay their sins at the Cross of Christ. What difference does it make when He returns, if you do not belong to Him!

  3. It actually only takes about 72 hours to read the Bible from cover to cover.

In the 800 hours WASTED on Pack's nonsense, someone could have read the complete Bible over TEN TIMES!

That would definitely have been more productive in ones Christian walk than putting up with Pack's drivel.

  5. DW quotes/writes:

“When there is a CHANGE IN PRIESTHOOD, there is NECESSARILY A CHANGE OF LAW". Hebrews 7:11-12.”

There has been no change in the priesthood or the law.

God promised through Jeremiah that in the Messianic Age

Jer 33:14 Behold, the days come, SAITH THE LORD

Jer 33:15 In those days, and at that time,
    Jer 33:16 In those days

that the Levitical priests will offer "sacrifice continually" and that His covenant with them can only be broken when there is no more alternating of day and night:

    Jer 33:17 FOR THUS SAITH THE LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
Jer 33:18 NEITHER SHALL THE PRIESTS THE LEVITES WANT A MAN BEFORE ME TO OFFER BURNT OFFERINGS, AND TO KINDLE MEAT OFFERINGS, AND TO DO SACRIFICE CONTINUALLY.

Jer 33:19 And THE WORD OF THE LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,

    Jer 33:20a THUS SAITH THE LORD;

    Jer 33:20b IF YE CAN BREAK MY COVENANT OF THE DAY, AND MY COVENANT OF THE NIGHT, AND THAT THERE SHOULD NOT BE DAY AND NIGHT IN THEIR SEASON;

Jer 33:21 THEN MAY ALSO MY COVENANT BE BROKEN with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and WITH THE LEVITES THE PRIESTS, MY MINISTERS.
Jer 33:22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

It is confirmed in the Ezekielian Torah that the sons of Zadok will serve in the Millennial Temple just as they had done in Solomon's Temple:

Eze 44:15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, SAITH THE LORD GOD:

Zadok was the first high priest in Solomon’s Temple. His sons severed in this Temple as well as the Second Temple.

Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

“THE WRITER IS HERE ARGUING HYPOTHETICALLY, FOR THE LAW ITSELF CANNOT BE CHANGED. He has primarily in mind the law affecting the Aaronic priesthood" (Donald Guthrie, Hebrews, TNTC, p.161).

Heb 8:4 If he [Christ] were on earth, he would not be a priest, FOR THERE ARE ALREADY MEN WHO OFFER THE GIFTS PRESCRIBED BY THE LAW.
Heb 8:5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven.

"It occurs to the writer that some confusion might arise in his readers' minds over the co-existence of two orders of priesthood. He proceeds, therefore, to show that the priesthood of Jesus was not established on earth. The main point he is making is the impossibility of Jesus fulfilling the conditions either in the matter of genealogy, or in the precise nature of the gifts, which are stipulated in the Mosaic Law. This leads into his thesis that the superior priesthood is that which operates in heaven, not on earth... The next verse explains the basis of the connection between the Levitical cultus and the work of Christ" (Donald Guthrie, Hebrews, TNTC, p.172).

Eze 45:17 And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, TO MAKE ATONEMENT for the house of Israel.

Eze 43:20 You are to take some of its BLOOD and put it on the four horns of the altar and on the four corners of the upper ledge and all around the rim, and so purify the altar and MAKE ATONEMENT for it.

Just as Christ's Melchizedek priesthood does not replace the need for a Levitical priesthood; Christ's sacrifice does not replace the need for animal sacrifices, when God, through Jesus Christ, has a dwelling presence in the Millennial Temple, as He did in Solomon’s Temple.

This is not a failed prophecy. This prophecy is for the Messianic Age. It is yet to be instituted.

Jer 33:14 Behold, the days come, SAITH THE LORD

Jer 33:15 In those days, and at that time,
    Jer 33:16 In those days

    Jer 33:17 FOR THUS SAITH THE LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

From the time of Zedekiah no one has sat on the throne of David.

2Ch 9:8 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God:
1Ki 11:34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince [nasi'] all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:

Eze 46:16 Thus saith the Lord GOD; If the prince [nasi'] give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons'; it shall be their possession by inheritance.

When Christ restores the kingdom to Israel then he will set up a succession of his relatives to rule on the throne.

Eze 43:7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor THEIR KINGS, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.

"... the identification of the prince as a descendant of David is lacking... although it is hard to imagine that Ezekiel had a different dynasty in mind. Why is that? Because in Ezekiel's vision there is another central royal figure, the Lord himself reigning in the temple. The past abuses of the monarchy will be done away with, legislated out of existence by a rearrangement of the land and by specific commands to the future monarch; but the monarch himself remains as a representative of the people. He remains in place, but only as the vassal of the Great King, God himself" (Ian M. Duguid, Ezekiel, NIVAC, p.523).

"Yahweh will shake the universe, overthrow human power, and appoint the Davidic line to its rightful place as vice-regent over the world" (Mark J. Boda, Haggai, NIVAC, pp.165-66).

  11. The answer to Ronco’s question:

    No.

Eze 45:18a " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: In the first month on the first day
Eze 45:20a You are to do the same on the seventh day of the month
Eze 45:20b so you are to make atonement for the temple. (NIV).

Lev 23:27a "The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement.
Lev 16:33 and make atonement for the Most Holy Place, for the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and for the priests and all the people of the community.

Just as animal blood provided atonement under the Old Covenant Theocracy so animal blood will be required to provide atonement in the New Covenant Theocracy.

Eze 43:7a And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever

The Millennial temple will need an annual purification in the Messianic Age to maintain Christ’s presence in the Holy of Holies. Under the OC this took place in the seventh month, but in the NC it will take place in the first month.

(Forgiveness is not mentioned in Leviticus 16).

"The majority of dispensationalists have argued that the sacrifices are memorials to the sacrifice of Christ, with no atoning character. However, the idea that these are memorial sacrifices is no where apparent in Ezekiel, and it is specifically claimed by Ezekiel that these offerings will make atonement (45:15, 17, 20)" (Ian M. Duguid, Ezekiel, NIVAC, p.521).

Eze 43:20 You are to take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar and on the four corners of the upper ledge and all around the rim, and so purify the altar and make atonement for it.

Eze 45:19 The priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, on the four corners of the upper ledge of the altar and on the gateposts of the inner court.

Eze 45:20 You are to do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who sins unintentionally or through ignorance; so you are to make atonement for the temple. (NIV).

"In vv 15 and 17 [of chapter 45] the expiatory significance of the sacrifice is emphatically expressed. In 43:20 and 45:19f it can be seen that the expiatory power is especially attributed to the blood" (Walter Zimmerli, Ezekiel 2 - A Commentary on the Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapters 25-48, p.479).

Lev 16:18b and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat
Lev 16:15b He shall sprinkle it on the atonement cover and in front of it.
Lev 16:16b put blood on four horns of incense altar and sprinkle blood before the veil 7 times...
Lev 16:18c and put it upon the horns of the [outer] altar round about.
Lev 16:20 ...making atonement for the Most Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting and the altar...

Eze 45:19a The priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering
Eze 45:19b and put it on the doorposts of the temple
Eze 45:19c on the four corners of the upper ledge of the altar
Eze 45:19d and on the gateposts of the inner court
Eze 45:20b ... so you are to make atonement for the temple

Notes: (1) The Leviticus verses have been rearranged to parallel with the Ezekiel verses. Prior to the application of the combined blood of the bull and goat in 16:18b, the applications of the blood of the bull and goat were applied separately in the sanctuary (16:15b & 16:b); (2) 16:16b is in italics as it is implied from the context of 16:15 & 16a - "He is to do the same for the Tent of Meeting" (16:16b). (3) There are three ‘places’ that blood is applied under both the Old and New Covenants.

    The author of Hebrews says:

Heb 9:4 which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant.

    But was he confused?

    Eze 43:10-11

10 “Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider its perfection, 11 and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations[d] and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations.

When it comes to Ezekiel's Temple, a common Jewish viewpoint is that it was a proposal from God for the Second Temple; a kind of Olde Covenant 2.0, but the Israelites failed to come to sufficient repentance, so they ended up with Neamiah's temple and no real Prince to speak of.

    Luke 13:34

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.

That's the story of the Bible- God makes an offer, but things just don't work out, but there's another plan.

If you believe for one minute that animal sacrifices are required in the future, then you have to toss the New Testament out the nearest airlock and concede that Jesus died for nothing.

  17. Ronco writes:

“If you believe for one minute that animal sacrifices are required in the future, then you have to toss the New Testament out the nearest airlock and concede that Jesus died for nothing.”

    No I don't!

Animal sacrifice in a theocracy concerns the purifying of the flesh; not the purifying of the conscience. The ‘purifications' are not in conflict.

Lev 4:31b and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be FORGIVEN him.
Lev 12:7b and make an atonement for her; and she shall be CLEANSED...

"Though commanded by God, animal sacrifices in Israel could never remove spiritual guilt from the offerer. The Book of Hebrews is very clear about that (10:4,11). But it is equally erroneous to say that the sacrifices were mere teaching symbols given by God to prepare the nation for Messiah and His infinite atonement. Such a view is contradicted by precise statements in Exodus and Leviticus. From God's perspective, this was surely a major purpose in the sacrificial system; but it could not have been their exclusive purpose from the perspective of Old Covenant Israelites...

"Now what does all of this indicate with regard to animal sacrifices in the Millennial Temple for Israel under the New Covenant? It indicates that future sacrifices will have nothing to do with eternal salvation which only comes through the true faith in God. It also indicates that future animal sacrifices will be "EFFICACIOUS" AND "EXPIATORY" ONLY in terms of the strict provision for ceremonial (and thus temporal) forgiveness within the Theocracy of Israel. Such sacrifices, then, will not be primarily memorial (like the bread and the cup in church communion services), any more than sacrifices in the age of the Old Covenant were primarily prospective or prophetic in the understanding of the offerer" (whitcombministries.org/ Biblical_Articles/Animal_Sacrifices_In_Israel_Past_And_Future.php).

"We also observe that the millennial sacrifices will be more than a memorial. In a theocracy (where the government law is God's law - such as Israel had under the Mosaic law), the breaking of the theocratic law brings temporal judgement (Zechariah 14:16-19) - no rain, famine, illness, or disease. In order to escape the temporal judgement, an animal sacrifice is offered to atone for the breaking of the theocratic law. This will be the case during the millennium where the whole world will be under a theocracy" (Joe Jordan, "The Marvelous Millennium", Countdown to Armageddon: The Final Battle and Beyond, p. 233).

Lev 4:14 when the sin [hatta't] which they have committed becomes known, the assembly shall offer a bull from the herd for a sin offering and bring it in front of the tent of meeting.

Zec 14:19 This shall be the punishment [hatta’t] of Egypt, and the punishment [hatta’t] of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

"punishment: Lit. sin, as in margin of A. V. and R. V., but sin here as manifested in its consequences. Comp. Lam 3:39, where it is literally, a man for his sins" ( “Zechariah,” Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges).

"As other commentators have noted, then, the connection between sin and punishment in the Bible is so strong that the writers often use terms for sin when referring to the punishment that the sin warrants" (Jay Sklar, Sin, Impurity, Sacrifice, Atonement The Priestly Conceptions, p.22).

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

BTW, in regard to the purifying of the conscience, I agree with James R. Edwards, see part 2.

  18. Part 2

    Ro 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Ro 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
    Ro 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Ro 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    Ro 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Ro 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Ro 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Ro 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Ro 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Ro 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Ro 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

"Like the Himalayan giants whose immensity is compromised because of their proximity to one another, Romans 3:21-31 may at first deceive the reader because of its compactness. Here is a veritable glossary of the Christian faith, AND SURELY THE MOST SUCCINCT AND PROFOUND EXPRESSION OF THE GOSPEL IN THE BIBLE...

"Paul employs a wide variety of vocabulary in developing the them of righteousness by faith. One set of terms comes from the law courts, consisting of "righteousness," "law," and reckoning" (NIV, "maintain," 3:28). The first two terms are heavyweights; in this passage of some 150 words "righteousness" recurs nine times and "law" seven times. A second set of terms, deriving from the institute of slavery, includes "redemption" and perhaps "grace." A final set comes from the ritual of animal sacrifice and includes "expiation" (NIV, "sacrifice of atonement"), "sin," and "blood." The most common word in the entire section, "faith," recurs ten times. It is the key to the vocabulary of the whole, and the means by which these momentous truths are appropriated by the believer...

"Paul concludes the discussion of righteousness with an obvious question: DO WE, THEN NULLIFY THE LAW BY THIS FAITH? He denies this categorically, NOT AT ALL! The purpose of the laws had never been to bring salvation, as he will argue in chapter 4 (4:13f.; see also Gal 3:1-20). The law's function had been to reveal sin (3:20) and to demonstrate the need of a savior apart from the law... The purpose of the commandment, in other words, had been to engender a proper attitude and behavior towards God's will. It is this original intent or motive which faith perceives, for "the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good" (7:12). The law drives one to Christ, and where one lives by faith in Christ, there one fulfills the intent of the law. "The righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit" (8:4)" (James R. Edwards, Romans, NIBC, pp.97-98, 108).

But, be that as it may, I decided long ago that I have no desire to live out an eternity that is patterned after the eisegesis of Herbert W. Armstrong. I found that his eisegesis ices Jesus. HWA corrected the New Covenant by filtering it through the Old Covenant. This is precisely why HWA's old wineskins have burst, and why all of his prophecies continue to fail. The splinters have been figuratively spewed from the mouth of God, yet the members are incapable of realizing it. They do not know what has happened to them!
