Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!

  1. Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia!

  1. Alleluia, Jesus is risen!
As Christianity is celebrating this most important event, it’s unfathomable that the COGs reject a ceremonial commemoration, or any type of observance of victorious Jesus, risen to give life to his people.

  2. The importance of Christ's resurrection to our faith was elucidated by the Apostle Paul in his first letter to the saints at Corinth:

"But tell me this—since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead? For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died." (I Corinthians 15:12-10)

  3. Praise God and our blessed Lord Jesus Christ. He is alive! From eternity, to eternity. Love! Holy! Pure! Counting not the riches of heaven as a thing to be grasped, but coming to earth to teach us and show us the WAY,the Truth, and the Life. Suffering horrible agony for us to pour out the blood of the New Covenant; being a Lamb worthy to pay for the sins of the whole world! "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only beggoten Son, that whosoever beleives in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  4. “Welcome, happy morning!” age to age shall say
Hell today is vanquished, Heaven is won today!
Lo! the dead is living, God for evermore!
Him. Their true Creator, at all His works adore!
“Welcome, happy morning!” age to age shall say.

Earth her joy confesses, clothing her for spring.
All fresh gifts return with her returning King
Bloom in every meadow, leaves on every bough.
“Welcome, happy morning!” age to age shall say.

Loose the souls long imprisoned, bound with Satan’s chain.
All that now is fallen raise to life again.
    Show the face in brightness bid the nations see;
Bring again our daylight; day returns with Thee.
“Welcome, happy morning!” Age to age shall say.

  5. Why couldn't all the Armstrongites have realized how cool Jesus is and was, and followed Him? How could we have listened to a man who corrected the New Covenant by filtering it through the Old Covenant?

I've always wondered how my parents could have fallen for such a gloomy authoritarian bully after having been raised in loving Christian environments themselves. Yet, they made that decision as mature adults. It never made sense to me, and I lost all respect for their intelligence, and lost all desire to have any kind of relationship with them. So much for turning the hearts of the sons to the fathers.

  6. He is risen! The tomb is empty! That miracle is what the entirety of the Christian faith celebrate today, without which, we would still be strangers and foreigners, without hope and without God in the world.

He is risen!! Hallelujah for the glory of God, forever and ever! Thank you Jesus for saving a wretch like me.

  7. More people are exposed to the salvation story and Christ on this day than they will hear in an entire year in an Armstrongite splinter group.

  8. I am comforted that there are still folks here that are believers. I cling to this belief, there are so many I want to see again. Peace

  9. Jesus is not risen, except as a metaphor, such as in the annual flooding of the life-giving Nile river, which is where the concept of a god that is resurrected every spring goes back to.

I am appalled that there are still grown-ups who base their religion on BELIEF rather than fact. What is it about ignorance that makes it spiritual? What is it about ignorance that make it something God would desire in his followers?

  11. Yet you type all this, put in all the effort but your life is a double life. You play pretence during your cog life and bully and gossip with hate those who've worked out this double life you lead.
What is Christ like about that behaviour?
