The Great Bwana to Africa and 100 Caucausians had a dream come true just now. First, Southern CA is being hit with the remnant of a tropical storm from Mexico, with anticipated flooding and landslides. Now we just had an earthquake on top of it all!
Prophecy comes alive! What a great time to be alive!!!!
I can picture Bob when the quake happened. With arms flapping he ran to his wife to save him. Such a mighty prophet!
ReplyDeleteHurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. Prophetic GUESSES and HOPES come alive!
ReplyDeleteWhy deny you're a athiest NO2HWA ? Why deny it ? Mockery is a spirit of athiest's.

This just in. Elijah the Prophet is an Atheist!
I Kings 18 7 At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

ReplyDeleteThe term "atheist" is bandied about quite indiscriminately by some of the Armstrongists who frequent these pages. I don't think they know what they are talking about. Atheism asserts that there is no God. I have written in the past about how there is a God and he is much greater than Armstrongists ever thought. And I was called an atheist for that.
When I was growing up in the conservative Mid-west, people had a penchant for calling anything that they did not approve of or understand "communist". And this was not merely tongue-in-cheek. In fact they did not know what a communist was. It was just a term that gave gravitas to their otherwise uneducated disapproval.
I would never call HWA an atheist, although he believed in a god that is very different from the God of Christianity, just because I disapproved of his belief. Every Armstrongist who uses the term "atheist" as a simple-minded epithet should have to explain why the target of that recrimmination meets the criteria. I am sure we will hear a bunch of denominational palaver.
Hawk
Looks like San Francisco avoided the hurricane and the earthquake. How come Bobby didnt specifically warn of these events , lets say a month ago??
ReplyDeleteBecause he is just a make believe prophet
DeleteSome prophet you are Bob! Where was your earthquake warning?
ReplyDeleteIf I was a member of your tiny, little personality cultlet, I would be asking myself what good is having a prophet lead us, if he doesn't warn us of impending danger? Could it possibly, perhaps, maybe a sign that our leader is a phony? Hmmm.
Come in, DW! Get with the plan! Instead of making stuff up, or repeating Armstrongisms, Bob's prophesies are about to become far more accurate! He's got his equivalent of Saul's Witch at Endor. You see, a whole new portal has opened up for Bob through his witch doctors in Africa. Come to think of it, when you contemplate Rod Meredith and Bob Thiel, he does appear presumptuous, just like Saul was with Samuel! He's not quite as bad as Gehazi was with Elisha, but then again, you can't compare less bad with bad and come up with good.
ReplyDeleteLol Anon @ 10:17. I think I will start calling Bob the less bad witch of Endor...possibly. maybe. Perhaps.
ReplyDeleteThe way I see Bob (and all of the cogs, for that matter) is a deceived person, who is so entirely and utterly deceived that it becomes their identity. I bet if you asked one of the leaders of these groups to tell you a bit about themselves, man on the street interview style, virtually every single one of them would start off by saying, "well, I am the leader of god's one true church". Not I'm a husband, father and businessman. Not "special" enough for them. The cults specialize in this from everything I have studied. Without their claim of "specialness", they would just be another church. What's wrong with that, I don't know, but that is a huge factor in how they get folks in the door, then work on the mind to believe this is a sign of being part of "gods end time movement", not a cult. A badge of honor, not heterodox, man made religion. Adventism, Mormonism, JWs and Armstrongism all make the exact same claim. But the adherents can't seem to separate fact from fiction and the groupthink takes over. Defend the group, at all costs, because Satan will convince the world we are a cult, be we know the truth! He can't hurt us. The gates of hell and all that. Completely lost in all of this is the evidence, plain for all outsiders to see, that this is just a con game. As I have said many times before, and please forgive me if it hurts anyone, but this is as far from the Christianity of the past 2,000 years as east is from west. Why simply being a born again believer in Jesus Christ is not enough for these people, I will never understand. There is no greater gift available to humankind. But for these folks, He is not enough. They know better. They have special, gnostic, coded info the rest of us are not privy to. God help them see the light before it's too late.
I have always viewed Armstrongism as unique version of Gnosticism. HWA and the church said the Bible is coded and only they could interpret it. Truth was hidden until it was rediscovered by HWA. True Christians only exist in the Church of God and they become true Christians only after they practice the restored knowledge revealed to by self-appointed apostles and prophets, Pastor Generals and Chief Overseers.
ReplyDeleteExactly Anon @ 12:30! I often wonder, if a member in one of these groups could take one step back for a moment. Just step back, put everything else aside (ministers teachings) and ask themselves one simple question (no matter how long they have been in the church). Would Almighty God really have left humanity all on their own for 1930+/- years, without witnesses to the gospel of our salvation? Would Jesus Christ, Who died for all of us, have really said, the heck with them. Let them stew for the next 2000 years until I bring HWA into the world. Then, My true gospel will be preached, at long last and he will decode My Word. The billions who lived and died before I "called" Herbert to the ministry...oh well. A bunch of illiterate rubes anyway. But, come 1934, I will show Herbert how to put the pieces of Scripture together and only those who are alive post 1930s and believe I raised Him up to lead My true remnant will I save.
ReplyDeleteThe Bible is no more coded than the phonebook. But HWA said it, he proved it to himself and that settles it for the adherent. I'm very sorry for you if that is your response. You were lied to. Open your Bibles and read them. You don't need to be a rocket scientist or spend 6 months in the public library to understand the vast majority of Scripture. The words mean what the words say and CONTEXT is everything. If you just proof text your way through, you can make it say whatever you want it to. That won't help you eternally. Life is short and eternity is a very long time. Take your eternal destination into your OWN hands and stop letting ministers tell you what it means. Do your own homework.
If only at least some would have the courage to ask. But most won't or they will add a thousand "but, but, Mr. Armstrong said..." rather than simply thinking for yourself and using common sense. Dig your heels in to defend him or throw him under the bus, but to claim his teachings were right is to surrender your relationship with Jesus now and your eternity with Him to one man. Respectfully, who in their right mind would do that? Either way, ask and answer the question. For the love of God, at least ask yourself the question.
The is no 12:30 comment.
DeleteSorry. I meant 12:50. Just hit a wrong button.
