Depressed? Suicidal? Then Join The So-Called Continuing Church of God!

Our favorite crackpot self-appointed Church of God false prophet has been on a roll lately dumping his sermons online as if they were a solution to humanity's problems.

Never once in his little sermon summary below does he mention finding peace and rest in Christ, or even following the dude, as inconvenient as it apparently is to Bwana Mzungu Thiel. Instead, the law and the 10 Commandments will make you happy. Never once does he recommend good therapy. Of course, why should he since therapy has always been anathema in the Church of God movement by claiming it is evil and only a Church of God minister is capable of true counseling?

Americans are depressed and suicidal. What’s the hope for happiness?

On December 12, 2019, the FCC approved a proposal for a nationwide suicide prevention hotline in the USA using the number ‘988’).

Suicide is that nation’s 10th leading cause of death.

A Harris poll reveals 72% of Americans experience loneliness.

Michael Synder claims Americans are lonely, miserable, and depressed. He claims that this is a legacy of a society that has rejected family, faith, and patriotism, but instead embraces an immoral anti-God agenda.

Was immorality and societal decline prophesied?

Where can people find the truth? Is there any good news?

What about the gospel of the kingdom of God?

Do scriptures offer a way to prevent suicide?

What are some scriptures that give hope about being happy?

Can the Ten Commandments help?

What is the meaning of human life?

What about love?

Will you be able to give love throughout eternity and lead a happy life now?

Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

  1. It is clear that Bob has experienced mania, but I see no evidence of his happiness. I have seen nothing to convince me that Bob even knows what happiness is.

  3. Happiness is the self satisfaction you get when you think you are called out, in Gods chosen church and you will be a king/priest.

But an even greater happiness comes when you are the man in charge the grand poobah who is 2nd under Christ and everyone looks to. Few men get to this level of happiness and the only way to stay there is to get those tithes in! I mean your stealing from God if you’re not supporting a top down government with the chosen one at its head.

  6. If I had to listen to Bob Thiel preach for too long I would probably become suicidal, too! Is that man ever happy about anything?

Miserable church leaders create miserable followers. The most miserable thing I saw related to Bob was the post on here a while back about his so-called evangelist in Africa sitting at lunch eating in front of fellow members and not speaking to any of them. They had no food in front of them, but he sure did.

    1. "Miserable church leaders create Miserable followers" in 2023 ? never in a million years. Not even in 1983!

How out of touch are you anon 9:30 ?? Clearly ministry.

Half the time "followers" who follow Jesus Christ don't take half as much notice of the "leaders" as the "leaders" think.
Does Jesus even know who these "leaders" are?

  7. Ministry from alot, but not all COG groups, are unnaturally obsessed with the topic of 'suicide' and 'depression'.
Whether it is wishful thinking or pig ignorance towards the brethren, and life in general, I don't know. In my experience the overwhelming majority of brethren are content and get on with life. This distress and unhappiness comes from within the ministry and those of ministry inner circles.

  8. Staying home and away from the WCG Debris Churches, their self-appointed and once or twice blessed amateurs, while saving 10,20,30% and more can also cut down on depression and suicide.

  9. John 5:39-47 You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me; 40 and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. 41 I do not receive glory from people; 42 but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.

43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will [s]receive him. 44 How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?

45 Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; THE ONE WHO ACCUSES YOU IS MOSES, IN WHOM YOU HAVE PUT YOUR HOPE. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

  12. The cog fog is the one and only thing that does roll downhill to members from leaders. Sadly. Yet, none are even remotely equipped and properly trained to help a member who may reach out for help. This notion from HWA onwards, that ministers should fix every problem, answer every question and give good sound advice has only made for 3 generations of some of the most miserable people alive. Frankly, some ministers should have been charged with a crime for the "advice and counselling" they have perpetrated against members.

HWA was clearly bipolar (admitted to as much if I am not mistaken) and this current crop of ministers parrot him, even in that. Bob can find a way to suck the joy out of a newborn baby. He must be a nightmare to live with. But go back to Moses and the law Bob. The true source of joy and peace in a Christian. Who needs Jesus?? I truly pity you.

  13. Well Tonto, after I heard they wanted us to go electric I tried to plug in my old Ford to see if my old V8 will run on electricity but nothing happened. It turned out the electrical plug on my car was for the block heater, so at least my engine was warm.

  14. The COGs are hard to deal with. You think that maybe you can strike a compromise by attending occasionally and keeping up old friendships, but you know those old friends view you differently. And you know the false beliefs and teachings of the Cogs which say you are no longer a Christian if you don't believe their particular false teachings. And, yet, you also know you are a better Christian than you ever were while being a cog believer.

You'd like to talk about your faith, but it's hard to because you have to carefully choose your words so as not to "stir up division." Of course, all the divisions are minister driven, but that's another story.

And you finally recognize that even the more benign splinters are still a cult.

  15. ACOG church members are the types of people who are always on the lookout for an excuse to look down upon others. That's part of the programming! And, when one leaves, it is very difficult to get rid of such an attitude so that it does not affect the rest of your life!

I really like to mess with people who are stuck in such attitudes.
