Oh, look! Our old buddy Nimrod is back! Always the scapegoat of everything wrong in the world and the church. This guy has to be busier than Satan himself!
According to the Kitchens, today's numerous splinter groups are just like Nimrod's body when it was cut up into small pieces and scattered about. Today's COGs are scattered about with no unified leader.
Do they need a Nimrod to arise? Could it be Bob Thiel? Dave Pack? Gerry Flurry? All three of these are as pagan as you can get in 2024 as they preach doctrines of demons.
God's Church is not divided into many bodies. Many churches. Many corporate human-organized churchianity.
Was Christ's body drawn and quartered? Cut up, and placed in different places?
Or was the false Christ, Nimrod of Babylon?
When Nimrod, the Lord of Babylon was killed he was cut up and divided.
Was Jesus Christ cut up and divided? John 19:36
So this doctrine of divided churches being the body of Jesus Christ, is nothing but a heresy and worship of Nimrod, the false Christ. It is a Babylonian doctrine, a doctrine of demons.
God says there is but ONE UNDIVIDED CHURCH, ONE UNDIVIDED BODY. And it is not a corporation organized under man's organization. Anyone who says so, is working for them, a hireling and is blind themselves. We need to be awake and sober. And HOLD FAST TO THE DOCTRINES WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT THROUGH CHRIST'S CHOSEN APOSTLE, MR. HERBERT W ARMSTRONG!
No one is HEARING the one whom Christ sent, and thus a famine is happening!
Amo 8:11-13 KJV 11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. 13 In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
Goes back to Luke 10:16 and 1 John 4:6. No one is hearing and DOING!
Rom 2:13 KJV (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Jas 1:22-27 KJV
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Following this doctrine, would make you spotted of the world! Spots in YOUR FEASTS, THEY ARE!
COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE!
If we believe this heresy, we are in Babylon.
Zechariah 2:7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Repent! Change your perspective! Put away these doctrines of demons and hold fast what is good, the true Doctrine of God! Return to what God has said, and where He is working! Time is short.
In Christ's service, Timothy Kitchen Jr.
Photo: organizational splits from 1970-1996. The Worldwide Church of God mentioned refer to the California corporation that became Grace Communion International. It is not the spiritual organism.
Note: interesting that "United Church of God" was raised in 1978, 1979, and then 1995.
Take out the word "God" and the parentheses around the names and lo, and behold, you have the real names of the churches. Like United Church of Shabi.
ReplyDeleteStrange comment 8:51. Strange.
DeleteI'm sure Kitchens and most of the other splitters don't understand or appreciate the idea of a "spiritual organism". I didn't either until GTA revealed the concept in 1978. He had to acknowledge it because his existence as a Church depended on it.
ReplyDeleteFor me the idea was revolutionary, especially after Ted acknowledged the CG 7th Day and encouraged open fellowship with them, which I did. It didn't take long though before the idea was frowned upon. Tithes and head count were suffering.
Utter lies. Garner Ted for all his issues never did no such thing.
DeleteThe mention of Nimrod takes me back. I recall him being a topic often in my early years in the WCG back in the Seventies. There was a statue at a museum near the large Midwest city where I grew up. It was done in some kind of black rock and displayed a very muscular Native American tribal chief. Some members of the WCG believed that the statue was of Nimrod. Back in those days, WCG members were seeing the Compendium in the woodwork. Nobody seemed to care anything about historicity.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see Nimrod in this post displayed as a Middle Eastern person. He was. Noah, Ham, Shem and Japheth were all of the same y chromosome haplogroup. The great weight of evidence is that they were haplogroup J. Ham’s descendants were not Black. Nimrod was not Black. Blacks are almost entirely haplogroup E and have a separate and pre-historic biological origin. If Ham had married a Black woman, as Hoeh proposed, his descendants would be haplogroup J in the masculine line and the maternal line would consist of a single mtDNA haplogroup that would derive from a Black woman. We do not find this at all among Blacks. Among all the races of the world, only a small group of closely-related clans in the Middle East, who survived a local flood, are descended from Noah and, hence, Adam.
Mythology abounds around Nimrod. Alexander Hislop was not the only writer with an expedient story. In fact, the Bible barely mentions Nimrod. And the vacuum has been filled in imaginatively. I could make up a story that he was a big faux blonde with a loud mouth, a red ball cap and his own worshipful base of glassy-eyed and deplorable followers.

Does this site ever attack GCI? They were just as destructive and full-of-it as Herbie and his followers.
ReplyDeleteOccasionally, but GCI's a boring bunch.
DeleteDennis' meetup with Joe Jr had a great comment thread though.
The Bible itself is really sparse in its comments on Nimrod, but Josephus and the record keepers in many other different cultures seem to have a lot to say about him. He was an urban legend before there were urban legends, and his name is invoked to trash numerous ideas and traditions. Valid historians have not been successful in positively identifying Nimrod with any validated or documented kings or rulers.
ReplyDeleteBut, why not? Drop out and anti-intellectual Herbert W. Armstrong was incapable of anything other than shoddy research, a research method in which a conclusion was established and then research was done to "prove" the conclusion, through vigorous "cherry-picking". The proper term for such research is bias-confirmation, and it appeals primarily to the uneducated, although it is a departure from the correct process of open-mindedly following an evidentiary trail leading to the conclusion.
HWA called his people "dumb sheep" for a reason.
I remember hearing a ministurd claim that Nimrod was buried under the altar in St Peters Basilica.
ReplyDeleteHOLD FAST TO THE DOCTRINES WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT THROUGH CHRIST'S CHOSEN APOSTLE, MR. HERBERT W ARMSTRONG!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's the problem (for them). Some groups are focusing on doctrines of the Bible, to one degree or another. About Jesus Christ first.
Oh, there are a lot of skeletons allegedly buried under St. Peters! According to one HWA/Hoeh conspiracy theory, the proto-Catholics had buried Simon Magus there, and then falsely claimed that the grave was Simon Peter's.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think thats what said ministurd was reciting, albeit in a rather garbled form.
DeleteConcerning Garner Ted, remember that Herbert Armstrong mistakenly did not disfellowship GTA in 1972 when he should have, and he mistakenly disfellowshipped GTA in 1978 when he should not have.
ReplyDelete12:32: Oops, should have mentioned I was referring to the chart of the church splits that was shown.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Evans Ochieng's friend was named Nimrod by the Kenyan parents. I would change my name by now.

ReplyDeleteIf you attack GCI theologically, you are essentially attacking orthodox Christianity in general. Like attacking the Methodists. Such a broad scope attack may not appeal to most. Orthodox Christianity has an answer for any challenge you might raise.
You second sentence is an assertion without evidence. Bring it.

There are individual posters who have attacked GCI over the years. They sling words around, like "apostate", instead of using the term "Laodicean" as they do with members of other splinters, but there's really not a heck of a lot to say, because the folks in GCI are pretty benign, and are not bitter towards those who retained the elements of classic Armstrongism. There's no reason for those of us who left both groups to criticize or attack GCI, because their current doctrines and managerial model are not what caused the abuses which messed up and caused pain in our lives.
ReplyDeleteI think the real unspoken goals of this site are exposure and healing. For the most part, GCI members have followed a path which has brought them healing. As such, they may actually be more advanced in their healing than myself or some of the other regulars here. Where would be the logic in attacking folks like that?
