The Earth Is Flat! So Says the "Obedient" Church of "god"

We have known for decades that Church of God members easily fall for most conspiracy theories and off-the-wall teachings by lunatic self-appointed ministers and other false teachers.

One thing that has always surprised me is how many COG folk believe the earth is flat.  The Obedient Church of God is one of those crazy groups.

Re: Why there are no photos of the edge of the earth.

BTW God says there are 4 angels AT the 4 “CORNERS” of the earthThen I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth,... Revelations 7:1

You cannot have “CORNERS” on a ball!

Therefore the earth is flat.

space photos ?

*** All the space photos of the earth that you see are fake. They will not even let the Hubble Telecsope ever to point toward the earth. They won’t even try, and make the phony excuse that the earth is spinning too fast. But they say that they can make phony pictures of the 1000 mile per hour spinning earth from a space ship right beside the Hubble.

And they never point the Hubble Telescope to point back to the earth, because they hide the flat earth from the public every way they can. They could simply turn down the magnification of the Hubble digitally to photograph the earth, and still take microsecond shots of the earth because they claim it is spinning, but they refuse to, so they can hide the FACT that the earth is flat.

how come we never got to see the earth on edge?

You are FORBIDDEN to go to the edge.

They forbid you to go to the edge.

And because the balloon is near the Northern center of the earth, "NOT" outside of the flat earth. You are NOT allowed to fly in a plane or a balloon to the edge of the earth, or you will be shot down and put in prison if you are still alive.

And even if you wanted to go to Antarctica and cross over to the edge of the earth, they do not allow anyone to travel throughout across Antarctica.

You will be locked up if you try to travel to the edge past the little settlements on the Coasts of Antarctica.

AND

They NEVER allow you to fly past the beginning Coasts of Antarctica

They NEVER allow you to fly to the OUTSIDE EDGE, PAST THE COASTS of Antarctica.

There is NO Flight allowed to fly over Antarctic.

You can only fly along the Coasts of Antarctica and never into or past the interior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaskijW7x9I

They do not let you to fly over Antarctica just like they do not allow the Hubble telescope to ever point at the moon to see the US flag that was NEVER placed on the moon because they never went to the moon. Stanley Kubrick made all the PHONY moon landing films.

All pictures of a round earth are fake.

One thing we all seem to forget is that Armstrongism has produced some of the greatest minds on earth today! The amazing intellect of some COG members is astounding!

  1. So they think the moon is flat too, & Io & Ganymede & Phobos & Enceledas & Charon?

Do they think the recent eclipse was a giant flat frisbee covering the sun? Do they think the sun is flat too?

Do they think meteorites landing here were flat?

Maybe Titleist golf balls are actually flat too.

I think their hip sockets are flat.

  2. The flat Earth theory is a joke, probably started by the CIA or some other organisation that wants to discredit all the gullible people out there.
I cannot believe that any COG would actually believe in this rubbish. I have met some Christians who believed in flat Earth, I do not meet with them any more.
It is a doctrine of demons, to believe that the Earth is flat.
Some people say that the word “firmament” used in Genesis 1:6 (NKJV) refers to a dome over a flat Earth: “Then God said, ‘Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.’ ”
Other translations have it as “space”, “expanse”, or “sky”. The original Hebrew refers to the visible sky, i.e. the atmosphere surrounding the Earth. There is no dome over a flat Earth.
There is much physical evidence for the Earth being a globe, such as time zones, seasons, the way a ship on the horizon seems to go below the water as it sails away.
We live on a globe, spinning on its own axis, tilted at 23.5 degrees, orbiting the Sun, all of which God created. Give glory to God for making such a wonderful planet, Solar system, and the whole universe. Saying the Earth is flat is to deny what God has created, things which can be seen.

  3. Of course there are four corners on the earth. And on any ball.

The Israelites used them to navigate through the desert. They used the portable altar. The altar in front of the temple had horns on its four corners.

As for the four angels, they would have stood at these four corners looking outward with their backs to each other. Thus, they would be looking at the four sections of the earth.

Then there are the four corners in the US where four states border each other.

Take a ball, or a globe of the earth, draw a line from north to south, then draw a line east to west. Guess what you get on a ball, or globe, where the lines cross each other?

The four corners will occur at the place that is the point of location in the subject being discussed. Thus, Jerusalem, being the center point of much of Scripture, more than likely the four angels were in front of the temple, or in the Holy of Holies. Just an observation.

So, yes, the earth has four corners. And, interestingly wherever you are on the earth, YOU are right smack dab in the center where four corners meet. Don’t let the angles get you. (Notice the angles/angels similarity?)

    Enjoy.

  4. the bible says that the devil took jesus up on a high mountain to show him ALL the kingdoms of the earth

that would only be possible on a flat earth

so the bible says the earth is flat

    1. Paul got a glimpse of things from the 3rd Heav'n, so God can use all manner of gravitational lensing concave/convex 3-D/4-D/5-D movie screen scenario theatres.

No need for any flat surface for that satanic mtn. top presentation

Think about gravitational lensing too. Are flat earthers still in kindergarten?

    2. It also indicates the plants of the earth will survive without sun, and that displaying mottled patterns to breeding ewes will result in mottled offspring. Maybe you shouldn't read so much into it.

    3. 11:55 It also adds “in a moment of time“ (Lk 4:5) or in an instance so it’s possible that the devil was showing the Messiah all the kingdoms that existed at the time (like on a screen) or even all the kingdoms that were to exist from that point forward according to the devil’s limited knowledge.

  5. The earth is flat, Elvis told me when I met him at the drive thru down the road while ordering my kosher unleavened bacon burger.
Besides if it was round we would have all fallen off.
Don’t you believe that gravity stuff.

I am reminded of someone commenting ‘don’t doubt the stupidity of the average voter, it’s true’ or similar.
And that perhaps sums up us as a species on this planet.
Rather silly at times with a inclination towards stupidity as the norm.
Never a dull moment in the Armstrong world.

  6. There is just no way to explain belief in a flat earth without invoking tragic stupidity or willful ignorance.

The Bible is Mesopotamia-centric. That's why there is no mention of Native Americans, Aborigines and Maori, or even the constellations and seasons on the Southern Hemisphere. The science of the Bible era is outdated, and today's science was unknown by the humans whom God used to write the scriptures. Since the Bible is not being updated with all of our new knowledge and discoveries, the only alternative for fanatical literalists is to deny and repress our current understanding. Good luck with that! Your kids certainly will not go along with it, or young earthism.

  7. yes well as a scientist and old air force jingo guy and as a confirmed LCG'er I can say that of a truth the earth is flat. Like the flat bread I'm eating for the DUB. Like many a church women I've seen, and yes caressed. After all, where'd all those people go who disappear each year? They must have fell off the edge and they are no more. Kind of like Mr. Gerald Weston's ethics.

  8. You can fly across most of Antarctica (there's a couple of restricted areas). It's a common myth repeated in those circles that you can't because there's not a lot of passenger traffic over the continent. That's because the possible routes where it might have fuel-saving benefits (outweighing the paying passengers to pick up en-route at hubs) aren't very in-demand - not too many people wanting to fly from South Africa to Chile.

  9. FM radio stations , even at 100,000 watts, can only cover about 30 miles or so, (depending on the tower height), because of the curvature of the earth. FM signals do not bounce off the ionosphere like AM signals do, and can only travel in a straight line. Same goes for microwave transmissions, which is why there is the need for a relay station every 20 or so miles.

  12. If the earth was round, you would see people walking upside down on the opposite side of the planet. So the earth is definitely flat. Also ask any child that hasn't yet been brainwashed by today's false science. They will tell you that it's flat.

  13. A client told me defending her view of the flat Earth, "I have a friend who is a pilot and HE SAYS that he won't fly to the other side of the Earth because he'd be upside down. All I could come up with was "uh huh..."

  14. Well this guy is not really a church, he just calls himself one. I knew the guy personally for a number of years, and he is a few beers short of a six pack. He drank so much colloidal silver, he turned blue grey, so we nick named him the blue man. Originally he was with Church of God, the Eternal (another cult under Jon Brisby), and then he got himself sideways over there.

  15. Where are those 4 corners? I don't see them on any of the pictures.

  16. And the lummox flat earthers are forgetting that even they have used either satellite broadcast TV, or some form of GPS. Do they think some kind of floaty invisible grand tether keeps satellites stabilized above a flatty pancake-y frisbee disc earth?

Wouldn't satellite TV require a "round ball" planet? Flat earthers could never dream of becoming employed at automotive internal combustion engine plant design or engineering or manufacturing.

Additionally, they could make a live Skype call to a friend in Australia and both could show onscreen that one's sky would be day, & the other's is night.

They could make a conference call with a series of persons aboard 20 or so cruise ships each located at vastly different global locations, and visually look "live" at each cruise ship's day, or night sky.

If one could make a live Skype call to a re-commisioned SR-71 Blackbird crewmember during top speed, the view out the Blackbird's window would show night turning into day or day turning into night, during the Skype call.

The dumbasses can also note Sigma Octantis (the "southern star") is the southern equivalent of Polaris (the north star). And that up here, we do not see constellation Southern Cross or Sigma Octantis unless you're very close to the equator.

Polaris/the North Star is not seen from Australia. So, flat earthers are flat-out debunked. They flunked. They been punk'd.

  17. Presumably relay stations are needed to boost the signal simply becauses it gets weaker, regardless of whether the earth is curved or flat.

  18. The earth IS flat, though it has some mountains and valleys, but it's also a globe.

Why don't the flat-earthers go on a trip directly due east and see where they end up to prove it to themselves? Maybe they're afraid of falling off the edge?

As for the Rev 7:1, the same Greek word for corner used in this verse is used for Christ as the head of the corner stone (Mt 21:42) of the temple. A cornerstone goes on a corner, doesn't it?

How do you determine a proper north, south, east and west today and its other points unless you assign them according to some principle? If northeast isn't a corner what is north? Just a side? a direction?

No such thing as corners on the earth? Why does Rev 20:8 say that Gog comes up from the four quarters (gonia, corners) of the earth to protest against Christ's rule?

  19. You know what else the numbed, dull flat earthers forgot? They can Skype call a friend in Argentina on our 1st day of summer June 21 from Chicago. And the Argentinian will show you they're having 1st day of WINTER (on June 21). Call him way down in Tierra del Fuego just to make sure of their brisk chilly day while Chicago bakes. (maybe Aug. 21 would be even better, since Tierra del Fuego on Aug. 21 would feel like Chicago's FEB. 21).

Do they know about the experiment Eratosthenes conducted with pole shadows in 240 B.C. at noon in Egypt? He found the shadow of a pole at noon in the southern city of Cyene/Aswan was SHORTER than the shadow of an equal pole 900 km/660 mi to the north of him up in Alexandria (at noon too). He hired a trusted assistant to go up there and log the details.

Hi flat earthers! Why was the shadow LONGER up north (at NOON) than the shadow to the south (also at noon)?

Later, Mr. Eratosthenes used those measurements to correcly calculate the CIRCUMFERENCE of our "round" earth close to the true 25,000 miles. He did that in 240 B.C., and flat earthers are further behind, dabbling with beliefs from the Stone Age.

How 'bout if someone built a copy of the 1,729 ft. tall Willis Tower (Sears Tower) down in Mobile, AL & measured it's SHORT shadow at noon Central Time. And also measured the LONGER shadow up north in Chicago at the real Willis Tower, also at noon Central Time. Wouldn't different shadow lengths demonstrate the SPHERE (globe) shape of our earth?

Or how about 3 similar sundials, one in Ecuador at noon & one up at Hudson Bay shoreline of Québec at noon, & a 3rd sundial at Isla Contreras, Argentina at noon. Are the Québecer's & Argentine sundial shadows longer than the Ecuadorian's sundial shadow (at noon)...

  20. You know, I look around me, and I see the seeds of so many ridiculous ideas and attitudes being planted, seeds which would yank us back into the dark ages if they ever hit fertile ground and began to germinate and bloom. It's difficult to determine how many flat earthers exist. Most likely, there are many more young earthers than flat earthers.

When Roe v Wade was invalidated by the Supreme Court, I had mixed emotions. Not because I'm in favor of using abortion as a substitute for birth control, but because I saw this decision as being the beginning, not the end which it appeared to be. As it happens, I was correct in my assessment. Flat Earth and Young Earth types are now going after birth control, and they are making it illegal to dispose of the raw materials used for IVF. What is the end game they anticipate? Don't they realize that ending birth control and allowing fertility rates to go wild would require the reintroduction of conquered diseases, and the banning of modern safety practices so as to maintain balance here on the planet? You can't turn the hands of the clock back on one without also turning the hands of the clock back on what used to compensate.

I believe that the people sitting around in some of the religious think tanks (if there are such things) are exploring the possibility that if we were somehow able to bring all underlying conditions back into the Little House on the Prairie era, perhaps we could make the attitudes which prevailed in those days regarding the Bible relevant once again. Normally, the people with the new knowledge which would change our understanding of the Bible, the scientists and other educated people, would cause us to rethink and update our understanding, in other words, to make the Bible grow with our times. Religious leaders have been watching these folks for some time now, and have been consistently disappointed as they realized that they aren't stimulating revision and deeper understanding, they're pretty much killing the book. Note, that is not an autobiographical statement on my part, merely an observation.

You can't kill the concept of truth, to make things the way you want them, and just have it affect the things you want it to affect. If you start killing truth, you can lie about elections being stolen, medications being full of bots, well researched news exposes being fake, threats which don't actually exist, threats which actually do exist not existing, and the list goes on. It's all about control. The reason why we have so much turmoil in our government and society today is that powerful people with extreme views are fighting for complete control, they are no longer interested in truth, they will not compromise, and they play dirty. It's tit for tat. Neither side has risen above the fight with superior values. each side simply reverses the other side's argument, and throws it back at them. And, that's what is producing ridiculous people like flat earthers!

  21. @Tonto: You wrote: FM radio stations , even at 100,000 watts, can only cover about 30 miles or so.

There are places in the U.S. where 100kw FM "blowtorch" stations go much farther than that. In western Oklahoma, signals can extend for about 100 miles from the tower. Even some Atlanta stations can be picked up in east Alabama.

  22. RE: RL ---

With FM Radio, it depends on how high the tower is above ground. Nonetheless, FM signals only travel in straight lines.

  23. Years ago, when I still lived in the "smell-A" area, and did my calls all over SoCal, there were FM stations I enjoyed during the day that I couldn't pull in on my home stereo. One station I was particularly interested in was in one of the beach cities, and their format was "Pure Rock". I could pick it up in my office in Orange County, but it faded about ten miles away from home.

So, I went to Radio Shack and picked up a signal amplifier and antenna, got up on the roof, installed it, and ran the wires down and connected them to my Kenwood stereo, and presto! Came in beautifully. In those days, any self-respecting "Boomer" had to have the music going on no matter what you were doing. Back then , TV Guide was also a must. It listed stations from surrounding areas. One eventing I discovered that a Palm Springs station was rebroadcasting an "Austin City Limits" program with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. Made a quick switch of the wires from the stereo to the TV, and picked it right up.

Back in those days, there were no radios on motorcycles. We listened to a different kind of music, the kind that comes from minimally muffled exhaust pipes. It was especially beautiful music as one rode through the mountains, reverberating off the canyon walls. Almost sacred!
