Our Great Bwana to Africa and the occasional 100 Caucasians has not been having a good time the last few days. His rapid response to an article here that he did not like was swift and hilarious. Even worse, he is getting sick and tired of all of the Laodicean miscreants on this blog who say he was kicked out of the Living Church of God. That one has really been stuck in his craw for a long time.
How dare anyone say that LCG kicked him out when it was HE THAT KICKED OUT THE LIVING CHURCH OF GOD!
Those poor deceived ministers and leadership in the Living Church of God do not know the heresy they committed when they refused to kowtow to his absurd demands. Thanks to their great rebellion, the Great Bwana pitched a fit and used this as justification to start a new splinter group.
God's most important man says:
Speaking on more recent church history, one recurring falsehood that some at Banned have asserted is that I was kicked out of the Living Church of God–that was not the case. Notice a comment posted at Banned related to the post there yesterday:
Bob is his own worst enemy. He has never learned when to keep his mouth shut. Meredith kicked him out of the LCG for that, in a very public manner.
That is also not the truth about church history.
All the top leadership of the Living Church of God knows full well I was not kicked out. I left because the leadership had serious integrity problems and refused to keep promises that they repeatedly made to me (for details, see Why Bob Thiel Left the Living Church of God).
While I was sent what was supposed to be a private letter, that was made public, it was not an attempt to kick me out –for details see Response to a Letter from Dr. Roderick C. Meredith Dated December 28, 2012.
Many at Banned cannot get over the fact that it was I who “kicked out” LCG, not the other way around. If those at that libelous site would stop repeating the lie I was kicked out of LCG, I would not feel the desire to sometimes comment about it.
I chose to leave LCG because of its integrity problems and its intentional failure to fix doctrinal and prophetic errors it promised to fix. It was NOT the other way around.
Intergrity? Integrity? Is this, coming from Bob Thiel? God no more had a hand in starting the improperly named "continuing" Church of "god" than he did when Gerald Flurry apostatized and stole Jules Dervae's writings and passed them off as his own. Both are just bastardized versions of the Worldwide Church of God and somehow think they are carrying on its mantle. It is time Bob Thiel stopped lying.
Bob just can't handle anyone disagreeing with him. It has to be hard for the little guy since he imagines God is only using him as his mouthpiece right now. None of us years ago could have ever dreamed up such a character of stupidity to be the mouthpiece of the church.
ReplyDeletePerhaps this site is financed by the LCG. Wouldn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteAs much as Winnail and Spanky get mauled around here? Put down the crack pipe.
Delete“Where, O Death, is your victory?
ReplyDeleteWhere, O Death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Blessed are they that are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
If we test all things, with their fruits you will know them. The difference between bitter and sweet, between lies and truth and especially between love and hate. This is not love.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Bob's comeback is the proverbial "You can't fire me, I quit."
ReplyDeleteDoes he think that by correcting or spinning this, he can actually influence his status, or what potential followers think of him?
ReplyDeleteIf they kicked him out, they were sick of him, he wouldn't repent, and so they considered him beyond repair. If he "kicked them out" (note creative usage of words), then he rebelled against constituted authority. There was no possibility of a winning scenario for him, either way.
Had he simply ignored Lonnie's article, he would have been sending a message that it was of zero importance and unworthy of comment. But, he's sooo easy to bait! As it is, I'd have to bet that when his readers saw the rebuttal, they immediately beat feet to Banned to see what it was all about. Bob might be a good checker player, but chess? Not so much!
Enough pushing and shoving here for an NHL playoff game.
ReplyDeleteBob is the Aaron Rogers of COGland. Once well-liked (by a few) and now endlessly mocked as he constantly creates one cringeworthy moment after another trying to stay relevant
ReplyDeleteBob Thiel injected the subject of his departure from the Living Church of God into the conversation. Bob twists the epistles of Ignatius as he does Scripture to support his view of a Christian's obligation to observe the Jewish Sabbath. Bob's "research" was directed at proving his views are correct. Bob is not following the evidence to reach a conclusion. Instead, he is cleverly manipulating the evidence to prove his point. Bob chose to immediately push-back against my posts. Hence, it is logical to conclude that he felt that they threatened the narrative which he has spent so many years believing and defending.
ReplyDeleteJust read the article in As Bereans did about the Easter issue that was mentioned recently.
ReplyDeleteIt's an informative article as you noted Lonnie.
Have been wondering for a long time now if Armstrongism got anything right beyond God exists and Jesus is the Messiah.
Hi Bob, I'm just hanging out here. Don't get pissed off on my account.
ReplyDeletePS
Get some help.

- The words in the middle of this para within parentheses have been highlighted by the author . It remains unclear what the bolded words mean to the original party, but they are of great interest
- I choose to copy the following from a commentary I had found because I had been reading Paul in Corinthians only recently
- I found the answer illuminating and helpful, and it reads as follows:
''Paul's parenthetical statement is supremely important to understand his Gospel. Many people say that as Christians we are free of the law - in one sense that is true, but it does NOT mean that Christians are lawless nor antinomians. Christians are bound by the "law of Christ" (1 Cor 6:21, Gal 6:2), or, "Law of God" (Rom 8:7, 1 Cor 9:21), or, "Law of the Spirit" (Rom 8:2), or, "My laws" (Heb 8:10, 10:16), or, "Law of Faith", or, “Royal law” (James 2:8), or, “Law of liberty” (James 1:25, 2:12), etc.
Thus, Paul could honestly say that he was not "under the law" (Torah), "I am not outside the law of God but am under the law of Christ".''
Bob would have been better off if he listened to Rod Meredith; Bob's big Head and pride got in the way. Vanity got the best of him, and he had to get justification for rebellion against Church Government, when all along he had pie in the sky Prophet aspirations; Sadly his legacy in the Church of God will only be remembered as getting conned by a bunch of WitchDoctors in Africa -and betraying Loyal friends, calling them talebarers, when in fact they had a valid reason for leaving his Church because they couldn't take his bewitched excuses of Defending such Evil Men. When Bob really does find out the Truth, he won't be able to handle it. So sad and disappointing. His World will be crushed, but God did try to warn him- but he refused, because he knew his Dream would die and he chose to believe a lie, so Sad indeed
ReplyDeleteDoes everyone know that Ignatius and Polycarp were disciples of Apostle John? And that Ignatius was made Bishop of Antioch via instruction of Apostle Peter? Tradition has it that Ignatius was one of the children held by Jesus, and he became a Christian at a very young age. Ignatius, Clement of Rome, and Polycarp were chosen as the next generation of leaders to succeed the original Apostles.
ReplyDeleteArmstrongites appear to believe that Ignatius should be treated as if he were Peter and John's version of a Tkach.
Prophet Dufus can never be mistaken or "false" in his prophetic blather of "Could it be that...?", "Is this the...?" and "No, Jesus can't return before...." as it lends itself totally to "I never said that. I only ask could it be."
ReplyDeleteProphet Dufus might say, "Behold, could Jesus come quickly? Am I, as Prophet Dufus showing you things that may or may not come shortly to pass?". Is it possible that time is actually short or that the night might be far spent? And yes brethren, I might be a prophet but who knows?"
Well said Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 11:24:00 PM PDT!
ReplyDeleteDear Bobby:
ReplyDeletePlease disfellowship and "mark" me from your church.
With Bob's habit of posting way too many "hook" questions for one sermon video, can you imagine what he'll do if he decides to make one of his crappy videos about Banned?
ReplyDeleteWhat is Banned By HWA? Who is Gary Leonard? Does he sniff his fingers randomly? Did he once stand in line at the gas station? Might his standing in line at the gas station have been prophesied? If so, where and by whom? Does he pick his nose while driving? What does the Bible say about that? Does he breathe through his nose or his mouth? Might that be a sign? What about Lonnie Hendrix? Does he also pick his nose while driving? How can you be sure picking one's nose while driving is important? Might one of them or another be the antichrist? If not, why not? Can Bob Thiel smell Gary's fingers? Is there an auto detailing shop that specializes in removing dried boogers from under car seats? Is it lawful to take it in on the Sabbath for such? Bob Thiel answers these questions and more.
Poor Bob, he always has to have the upper hand.
ReplyDeleteAs it is with many in the church, the other side is bad and so I should leave.
These hypocrites then get up and say to their new group, "forgive, be unified, and don't leave the church..."
Unlike Christ, they want no part of an injustice or of being deprived. (1 Cor 6:7)
Then when set "free", they can't come to terms with it happening in their new setting.
RSK, perfect, LOL!

ReplyDeleteYou think you have some kind of power over me, but I still just laugh and laugh and your childish comments. You need to get this book so you can finally admit who you are and live an open life.
https://www.amazon.com/Hitler-Gay-Years-Sally-Hollister-ebook/dp/B07JNDB41H
Many are laughing at you.
DeleteSince some here like to quote from extra-biblical sources I thought this would be of interest. From the Didache. It feels like reading about this website. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteQuote: 6:3 For in the last days false prophets and seducers shall be multiplied, and the sheep shall be turned into wolves, and love shall be turned into hate; 16:4 and because iniquity aboundeth they shall hate each other, and persecute each other, and deliver each other up; and then shall the Deceiver of the world appear as the Son of God, and shall do signs and wonders, and the earth shall be delivered into his hands; and he shall do unlawful things, such as have never happened since the beginning of the world.
Also, for those who are so adamant about doing away with the law, I would like to know what are your personal sins you are trying to make ok to continue in them?
Just askin…
Who is trying to do away with the law? Nobody has posted anything like that! Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and have entered a Christian's rest are under the spirit of the law (TGCOL). Those who have not, are still under the physical aspects of the law. The spirit of the law is more exacting and difficult. Don't believe me? How would you even begin to live in a mental state of every day being the sabbath?
ReplyDeleteIts a very hoary Armstrongist non sequitur, 6:49 - if you say "the law is done away", you must automatically be a crazed hedonist on the level of Aleister Crowley or something like that.
Delete6:03 wrote Many are laughing at you.
ReplyDeleteOf course they are, and here’s why. “ Aristotle insisted that we laugh at the ugly or the stupid to express the joy we feel that we’re better than them. Socrates added that we also laugh at those who are delusional about their own abilities, because we flatter ourselves that we’re more clear-sighted. Thomas Hobbes claimed that laughter was a moment of “glory”, in which we feel ourselves to be above other people.”
And the books on winning arguments state that one should laugh at the opponent to demean him in the minds of the audience. So, go for it. It says a lot.
Besides, they say laughter is good for the liver.
