LCG is whining that their booklet on tithing is their least requested booklet. Considering that tithing is NOT a New Covenant command, it is probably a great reason why no one is interested. Also, anyone with a COG background has already had their financial lives ripped apart by all of the commanded tithes and offerings the church pawned off on members as if they were commanded by God.
Is your current financial situation a mess? It is probably because you aren't tithing to the Living Church of God. LCG wants you to know that they are NOT begging for your money, but they really are. Weston does a really good job of gaslighting his followers below and any gullible public that may read his drivel. Your finances are a mess because you disobey their god, and if you would only tithe to their god, it would bless you.
Greetings from Charlotte,
Mr. Rod McNair recorded a telecast on Wednesday, titled “You Can Survive the Coming Crash,” and he offered God’s People Tithe. This booklet is one of our least-requested resources—one that we rarely advertise—but tithing is a law of God. It is no trivial matter to Him, as He says it is robbery to withhold tithes and offerings from Him (Malachi 3:6–15). While we don’t want our audience to think we are charging for our material—which we are not—or begging for money—which we are not—the financial mess many people and nations find themselves in is a direct result of disobeying God in how money and resources are used. Tithing is part of “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27). All of us here in Charlotte wish all of you, wherever you are in the world, a profitable, joyous, and exciting Holy Day season.
—Gerald E. Weston
The perfect time to advertise that booklet, LOL
ReplyDeleteAfter British Israelism, tithing has to be one of the heaviest burdens the church placed on mankind. The greatest voices for the gospel are each one of us individually, as we see in the gospel messages throughout the New Testament. Yes we live in a different age. Using mass media costs, big time, ask Kamala Harris lol. It is an observation that churches that have tithing in place as a foundational doctrine are perhaps more open to misuse of funds and enrichment of the leadership and also more prone to a heavy handed ‘ministry’ to ensure their salaries. All for the gospels sake of course. The Armstrong movement needs DOGE to do an audit of their revenue to see where the monies are actually going. Hey Elon, reading this lol.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think that any of the ACOG leaders even remembered Smoot-Hawley! Normally, they are not concerned during a Republican administration. The usual school of thought has been "God is allowing us more time to get the work done".
ReplyDeleteIn an ecosystem, whatever happens to that ecosystem is going to affect all of the creatures who live in it in some way, regardless as to how good they might be as stewards over their own little domains. HWA was partially on the right track with his "place of safety" (moving to another ecosystem), but a hot, barren desert cannot support the needs for sustenance of thousands of people, especially as the earth is heating up.
Weston's approach is totally predictable: Time for a fundraising drive!

Yet I remember when people used to openly warned others to never fall into the trap of working for the church for wages. That being financially dependant on the church was a unwise decision in the longrun for various reasons.
ReplyDeleteEven church organisation elite church jobs nowadays can never beat the peace of a 35 year career with a paid off mortgage, new kitchen, bathroom and boiler, new car, savings, yearly bonuses, protected pensions and holidays each year, not counting Tabernacles.
As the knock on effect of Trumps tariffs are still in early months who knows what effect that will have on church jobs in the longrun.
The allure of jumping to untrue conclusions about others with a desire to destroy reputations, only reflects on the desires of the originators.
''.. but tithing is a law of God. It is no trivial matter to Him, as He says it is robbery to withhold tithes and offerings from Him (Malachi 3:6–15).''
ReplyDeleteIts incredibly ironic that these churches are themselves stealing from people, as God's tithing laws of that time have no application whatsoever to these new covenant times. They delight in imposing burdens on the believer, but seek to assuage their consciences by adding another layer of falsity - that blessings results from tithing thus they say the net burden is much less, or perhaps becomes no burden at all.
The Law of Moses was given to the Israelites, not the church. The Covenant ended with the coming of the Messiah. To enforce the Law is to deny that Jesus was the Messiah. Even Jews, who deny Jesus is the Messiah don't tithe because there is no temple or Levites. Church pastors who claim non tithers are robbing God are themselves thieves if they demand and accept tithes which they are not authorized to do.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that complicated.
100% correct. The New Testament pastors have repeated a lie to enforce tithes by quoting Malachi 3:10 under the New Covenant, when we are no longer under the Law of Moses. It's an act of covetousness, which Peter warns about in 2 Peter 2:1-3.
Delete"charging for our material". no thank you, I would rather have the bible.

Old Covenant: tithing was never commanded on money income.
ReplyDeleteWell, these people backwrite our modern concepts and interpretations into the Old Testament, and attempt to style themselves as "Old Covenant Christians". Now they would never attempt to call themselves that, but essentially, that is where their maze leads them!
ReplyDeleteHow can you read the book of Malachi and not see that it was delivered to the Isrealites exclusively. The term, "this whole nation" clearly refers exclusively to the Isrealites and not to the Gentile nations. This book needs to be read in context. The tithing law was clearly given exclusively to the Isrealites
ReplyDeleteDr. Creflo Dollar became a pioneer amongst popular televangelists in 2022 when he retracted the tithing doctrine he had formerly taught, and apologized for having been wrong. He now teaches that Christians should give in accordance with what is in their hearts as part of the New Covenant.
