In late October 2025, 3I/ATLAS came near the sun! Is it an Alien? Is it a Demon? ReplyDeleteHypothetically speaking, if demons were able to manifest themselves as extraterrestrials, they would have tried it already. The world was ready for that following Orson Welles' adaptation of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds" for radio, back in 1938. The novel which had served as inspiration for the radio program had been written in serial form from 1895-1897, meaning that it was a relatively recent 41 year old work by 1938. To put that into perspective, 40 years ago from today, Michael Jackson was in his heyday. Back to the Future was released. The Mexico City earthquake struck. These events are all very fresh in peoples' memories today.
ReplyDeleteThe universe is large enough that if the multiverse theory is true, it is possible that other human life supporting planets exist so far away that even if physical beings had a method of travel which could equal the speed of light, it would still be impossible to travel to their location (or they to ours) within the human lifespan. If a version of planet Earth is replicated in such distant regions, it is beyond our ability to discover them. Were an extraterrestrial to appear, we would immediately know that he or she was from a much more advanced civilization than our own, one in which they had learned to bend the time-space continuum, completely superceding the very concept of travel.
A big, expansive universe would seem to indicate a big, expansive God. Why would He limit Himself to one relatively small planet, statistically negligible, even considering only the things that can be known to humans, when He has nearly infinte space in which to do His work? This would make no sense, especially if HWA's theory that He was reproducing Himself were true. Jesus spoke of many houses. The Bible does not address extraterrestrials, but it does posit barriers, or limitations which affect us all, such as the barrier between the living and the dead, the linguistic limitations which were placed upon the builders of the Tower of Babel, and limitations of perception and communication between the angel kingdom (including demons) and humans. So it is entirely consistent with the God of the Bible's character that there would also be natural barriers between us and His children in distant regions of His creation.
As for the demon/extraterrestrial theory, if such an entity visited planet Earth, it would be a history altering event. Totally. Therefore, it would not so much be a visitation, it would be that entity asserting or taking control! In the Gospels of the New Testament, Jesus vanquished Satan. Satan is limited and encumbered by restraints. The New Testament, including Revelation, reflects those restraints. Through the story of Job, we can know that Satan was also restrained in Old Testament times. There is no indication in the Bible of Satan or the demons seizing such control in that manner. The Beast and great False Prophet are not extraterrestrials!
There are other types of barriers common to man. Once you know a person's agenda, methodology, and reputation, and you are familiar with their life's work, that knowledge gifts you with the discernment to realize that nothing of value is forthcoming from them. You might say that there is a natural barrier between them and those of us who now know better. That barrier has also been established by God! You know, oh, just a little neglected declaration in Deut. 18:21-22? 🤠
