David C. Pack's Avoiding Accountability Master Class: Minimizing
Anyone who thinks that David C. Pack of The Restored Church of God is not diabolical needs to watch this video. During "The Greatest Untold Story! (Part 650)," given on September 19, 2026, he ridiculed members who left because they got "hung up" on him falsely preaching dates for the coming of the Kingdom of God.
The Pastor General equates the knowledge of his made-up 7.5-year kingdom to be a blue whale and the concern over him setting false dates 145 times since 2013 as a minnow. And a gnat. And a fly. In addition to him minimizing his own actions to avoid accountability, he also blames those who have concerns by accusing them of disbelief in God's Kingdom.
Part 650 is a Master Class in brainwashing manipulation.

Pack is such a liar and fraud. The people who left his cult DID BELIEVE the Kingdom was coming! They just didn't believe Pack's BS any longer.

In most sane circles, Dave would be considered to be eccentric, a nutburger. But, he especially stands out to those of us who were schooled by the twentieth century fanatic Herbert W Armstrong because Pack goes so far beyond what Armstrong taught, He has crossed the barriers and restraints that Herbert imposed upon himself. The fact that Pack has any followers at all is indicative as to how memories of those restraints have faded as ACOG members have travelled more deeply into the Twilight Zone. All they can remember is that they are supposed to get some kind of crown and rule with a fist of iron, and Dave appears to them to be their best shot.

ReplyDeleteTalking about avoiding accountability, the Jehovah's Witnesses governing body changed their blood transfusion rule during the FOT. Their members are now permitted to accept blood transfusions. This has resulted in an outcry from the relatives of tens of thousands who died refusing a blood transfusion. Many were children. The leaders explain the change as "new light," in effect blaming God for the deaths. They've thrown God under the bus to escape legal and moral accountability.

What you say is very true. The JW use Proverbs 4:18 - “The path of the righteous grows brighter and brighter” - as the pretext to make all kinds of doctrinal U turns.
In context, this is a proverb about moral growth. It does not mean “God reveals contradictory teachings over time,” nor does it justify reversing earlier doctrine under the banner of “new light.” The verse provides no remedy at all for the claim that God once said X and now supposedly says Y.
Like Armstrong’s systems, the JW use of “new light” functions as a mechanism of outright organisational control rather than a genuine interpretive principle. Without this misapplied text, their entire “new light” mechanism would have no biblical foundation at all.
The two systems Armstrong and JW show similar control methods to retain authority. And bear the same bad fruits, cheers
