Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!
For those Armstrongites who will not be eating halal Butterballs, this ones for you:
Redd Fox once offered up a hilarious one-liner about it being good that the Pilgrims had not hunted bobcat prior to Thanksgiving. I'll leave the punchline for everyone's imagination.
Seriously, folks, Happy Thanksgiving to one and all from sunny AZ! This is probably one holiday we all have in common.
And, another Happy Thaksgiving from Arizona. We just enjoyed a glass of wine on our porch while watching the news and Wheel of Fortune on our porch while a fire of the palo verde limbs I cut up last summer blazed in the metal chiminea we have.
Deligftful evening! It's so quiet and peaceful out here in Verde Village 3. Not even street lights and almost no traffic. It's nirvana!
Happy Thanksgiving, fellow ex-COGers! I know we all have much to be thankful for, not least of which being our escape from a doomsday cult. Happy holidays all!
Jace and Byker Bob, agreed! I am thankful I had the instincts to leave the WCG in my youth. I also want to express my thankfulness to Wiliam Stenger who informed me by letter many years ago that I was not accepted into Ambassador College.
Allen Dexter, nirvana? That sounds more like the Wonderful World Tomorrow! :)
I could never understand why every non-biblical holiday we had in the UK was banned by WCG as pagan (fireworks night - celebrating the attempt to blow up Parliament, for example), but the brethren in the USA were allowed to celebrate Thanksgiving. Of course, the answer should have been obvious. Why upset those that provided the main income to finance the playboy lifestyle of HWA and his minnions.
