Bob Thiel SURPRISED That Rod Meredith Has Concerns About His Books

Today Bob Thiel wrote on his blog under the News of the  Living Church of God that he is surprised that Rod Meredith has concerns about his writings and books.  Rod Meredith will be calling Bob this week to discuss this situation.

09/08/12 p.m. Attached to the Weekly Update from the Living Church of God, Charlotte (LCG), that is being read today in congregations throughout the world, was a letter from Dr. Meredith related to me, the Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States book, etc. FWIW, I was unaware of any LCG concerns about this book prior to seeing Dr. Roderick C. Meredith's letter, so this has come as somewhat a surprise. 

In the past, the Charlotte-based evangelists such as Dr. Meredith, Richard Ames, and the late Dibar Apartian have always been supportive and encouraging regarding my writings and books. And while a couple of suggestions have been received in the past related to the books, no serious doctrinal concerns have ever been raised.

I am unaware if Dr. Meredith has yet had the time to read the book in its entirety and he is supposed to call me next week to discuss his concerns. A careful read of his letter shows that nowhere does he state that the book actually contains any error, but that it is not an official LCG document and that people need to check out what I write--"Prove all things" as the Apostle Paul wrote (1 Thessalonians 5:21, KJV)--and, of course, I completely concur with that.

From the beginning, it has been my intent to update the Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States book in November 2012 or January 2013 (I updated my previous book Fatima Shock! within a couple of months of its release), so I look forward to discussing details with Dr. Meredith.

Anyway, although I have served LCG in many capacities over the past 14 plus years, I have never been an employee, accepted any salary, etc. thus I have never been an official employee. And, of course, since LCG did not produce the Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States book, it should be clear to all that it is not an official LCG publication. If the Apostle Only Eats Edam Cheese and a Pear on High Days Then You Should Too!

Lest any of you sinning  members out there forget how to keep the Sabbath and High Days at the Feast this year, the apostle has laid down the law.  The apostle only eats Edam cheese, a pear and a small salad.  If it is appropriate for him then it should be for you too!  I can just picture Malm's acolytes running out and buying the same products.  COG members did the same thing when HWA declared he liked certain foods and alcohol.  Since the apostle deserved the best and emulated how the kingdom should be then church members were expected to do the same thing.

The very idea that a church member needs to ask what they are supposed to do instead of using their own brain tells a lot about his followers.  God forbid if a COG member actually made a logical decision on their own and stuck to it regardless of what the apostle or minister thought.

I have been asked how to observe Sabbath and High Days in regards to not working, buying or selling on those days.

First it is important to arrive early enough to take care of all necessaries before the first High Day or Sabbath
It is best especially if one has children to seek a unit with a kitchenette. In any case in today’s world almost all grocers have very convenient ready to eat choices from veggies and dip plates, to ready made salads, fruit, sandwiches, cookies and sweets, cheeses, bread etc etc.  If there is no refrigeration a cooler or simply putting them out in the car over the coolness of the night will keep carefully selected food over night.

I have found that I tend to eat too much of the wrong things at the Feast anyway; and a break from that and a simple mid day meal of a salad, a pear, and some Edam cheese suits me fine as a break from the heavy food.

Remember to tell the staff that no room service will be needed.

It is extremely easy to use the preparation day to acquire enough to last through Sabbath while eating an early dinner on the preparation day and a late dinner after sunset ends the Sabbath, Holy Day;  while observing Sabbath without buying food or cooking.

The only real difference between being “on he road” and at home, is that at home we can cook extra food on the preparation day, while on the road we have to be ready food in advance of the Sabbath or High Day.

Rod Meredith Responds to LCG Members Concerns About Bob Thiel

Yesterday a reader posted a letter reportedly from Rod Meredith discussing the concerns that some LCG members are having with Bob Thiel speaking as if he was the voice of the Living Church of God.  When I read it, I thought this really does sound like something Meredith would write.  Then the original poster responded that it was authentic and a couple of other people also agreed that they think it is authentic.  Is it real or a hoax?  If it really is a hoax then someone really knows how to impersonate Rod Meredith to a "t."

I know several LCG members who are quite concerned about prophet Bob's latest book critical of President Obama.  Add to that the use of sources that have traditionally been looked upon by the Church of God as pagan or demonic and you have even more concern by Church of God members

Thiel is now bragging on his blog that he has been cited as a credible source on end times prophecy on MSNBC and the Washington Post.  Prophet Bob is still the face of the Living Church of God when he does this.

Dear Fellow Servants of Christ,

An important matter has just come that I want to alert all of you faithful servants of Christ about. It involves Dr. Robert Thiel. While Dr. Thiel has declared himself to be a loyal member of the Living Church of God and has helped us in many ways with interesting ideas, suggestions and personal help, we do feel it is important for all of you to know that he is not our official “spokesman” in any way. He has written a number of things with which we do not agree.

Dr. Thiel has just published a highly speculative book about President Obama much of which we do not agree with. So it is important that all of you realize that—although I love Dr. Thiel personally—it is vital that each of you brethren check out carefully and prove to yourself whether any of his writings are valid if you read them. Although he has not stated it as such, some of our brethren may have assumed that Dr. Robert Thiel is an “official” spokesman for the Church on many matters. We want you to fully understand that this is not so. He is not in our employ, nor does he officially represent us in any way. So although we continue to wish him well, we do want everyone to know that when it comes to some of his unusual writings or concepts, they must stand on their own and not be represented as something from the Living Church of God. If you have questions about this matter, please counsel with your own local faithful Living Church of God minister.

In these difficult times, let us all be careful to “prove all things” and be sure where we stand before God. I do have to hand it to Rod Meredith in distancing himself from prophet Bob's books.  They are all highly speculative and about as useful in understanding prophecy  as Ron Weinland's 2008 God's Final Witness and The Prophesied End-Time are. We have all seen in the last year how well those books have worked out for Ron Weinland and his church. Prophet Bob's books have the potential to actually cause Living Church of God undo "persecution."  The track record of the Churches of God in bringing trials and tribulation upon themselves are legendary.

Living Church of God: First It Was The Mayans, Then The Catholics, Now It's Obama

Bob Thiel, the official spokesman for the Living Church of God and it's teachings, has written another book.  This one is about President Obama.  Armstrongism has always aligned itself politically to the right. So it is no shock to see Thiel, Meredith and Flurry speaking against Obama.

So just where is Naturopath Bob getting all of his information from that he presents in his book?

M John Allen: Passive Aggressive Prophet Calls It Quits (Again)

Armstrongism's greatest prophet lives in Costa Rica and his name is M John Allen.  I have featured the mindless rantings of Prophet John on this blog before.  Today he is ticked yet again at the unworthiness of his followers.  He starts out his post in his usual manner, all warm and fuzzy:

For several years now our website has been woefully in need of upgrading, and still is.

I am now working to get the body of my work in an accessible format by uploading one episode per day to Talkshoe, and have begun recording new material again.

Despite my recent amputation and my continuing recovery, I have increased the amount of effort I'm personally putting in.

His web site is pathetically bad, really, really bad!  Allen has several sites up.  One on COG theology, and others dealing with investing in off shore accounts, human potential drivel and hypnosis. He also produces video sermons that are hysterically baaaaaaaad! His sites include:  Restoration; SuccessQuest; Ambassador Foundation; Hypnosis; Global Financial Security; Off Shore Cashier; Off ShorEarnings; So Ya Wanna Move To Costa Rica?; Assisted Living Costa Rica; and more.  All just as equally bad is the first.

Allen then switches to his aggressive mode as he writes to the heretics and mockers out there as he compares his persecution to that of Jesus:

But, do I receive gratitude in return? No. I receive criticism and complaining when I faithfully follow the living Jesus Christ in directions that your hidebound attitudes and traditions of men disagree with.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Christ Himself was chastised by the Pharisees for associating with "prostitutes and drunkards," and was accused of being an illegitimate child and any other nasty thing the Pharisees could think of.

His disciples were "wrong" for picking grain in the field as they walked on the Sabbath to satisfy their hunger. He was wrong for healing a blind man on the Sabbath. And on and on the whining, bitching, and complaining of the Pharisees continued because he wasn't "their" kind of savior!

And years ago I expressed this same sentiment and was condemned by one of the modern day pharisees for it. What a hypocritical jerk he was.

I, in the company of Jesus Christ, expressed in a message once that I was more comfortable around worldly people sometimes. Funny thing is, so was Jesus Christ.

He was welcomed into the homes of "publicans and sinners" with open arms. And those evil gentiles, the Samaritans, liked him too. So Jesus gave us the story of the Good Samaritan to slap the Pharisees directly in the face. Boy did that sting but they only plotted to kill Him all the more instead of looking at what was wrong with themselves and repenting.

Sad to say, many so called "Christians" today are simply an updated version of the blind and hypocritical Pharisees. They bitch, they moan, they complain, they have closed minds..... If the truth hit them up side the head they wouldn't recognize it! And Christ? Oh, they leave HIM
outside the door knocking because there is no room in their lives for Him and His truth.

Then he moves into his pissed mode once again.  As he says, this is not the first time he has threatened to stop everything, nor do I doubt it will be his last.

I know I have said this before, but this time I mean it.

I'm done with you. I am NOT going to waste my time updating the website. I may or may not record messages for the sabbath or the holy days. You have proven through YEARS of just being yourselves that you aren't worth the time of day, and bringing new truths before you is like hurling my pearls before swine.

I am leaving the Churches of God right now this very moment and I will NOT look back. Go play and bicker with YOURSELVES.

I am not going to inform you anymore of new uploads to the Bible Study Channel. I'm doing it every day, but since you aren't compensating me to let you know, I won't. Just find it out for yourselves.

There you have it folks.  Allen is ticked off because people are not sending him money. All of these stupid laodicean COGers out there don't care about his message enough to send him tithe money and offerings. 

What I am going to do is what Mr. Armstrong did. HE went to THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, not the people of the church that existed in those days, because, if he had, he'd still be talking in that little school house in Eugene, Oregon, that's where he'd be!

I see the wisdom in that decision now. I only wish I saw this years ago with such clarity.

So, I am going to be concentrating on my successquest.info and other related sites. THOSE people will listen and have an open mind and respond, while YOU will still be arguing and bickering among yourselves 20 years from now.

It should be noted here that there is not one single person that responds to his postings on Yahoo.  He is essentially ignored, so I don't know where all of his bickering readers are complaining at.

Rod McQueen: Former Evolutionist? Critic Says "What A Load of Crap."

The blog Bible, Wheels, and Brains: Free Thinkers Exploring Religion, Science and the Mind nails a former Church of God minister who claims he left a devout belief in evolution to believing in creationism.

That former minister is Rod McQueen.

Reading McQueen's stories you would assume he was a devout evolutionist well trained in all of it's complexities through college and further study on the subject.  So just where did McQueen get all of the nasty evolutionary understanding from?  High school!  High school educators had such a rich deep understanding of evolution that McQueen bought it hook line and sinker.  The trouble is, if you asked a regular high school student today to explain evolutionary theory they could not do it. Most adults can't except for a few basics.  Most high school students today can't even understand US and world history, so how in the hell do they understand evolution?

Rod McQueen has a ministry called "Dawn to Dusk" where he has many articles detailing biblical creation stories and mocking of evolution.

So what caused McQueen to see the light after such a deep in depth study at the age of twelve?  All thanks and glory need to go to Herbert W Armstrong and Ambassador College! The source of all real understanding on ALL subjects.

Back in July CWH posted the supposed Confession of a Former Evolutionist which was written by a Rod McQueen, a long-time pastor in Herbert Armstrong's hyper-fundamentalist cult called the Worldwide Church of God. In his "confession" he said he "was raised on the milk of evolutionary theory. In year twelve at high school, our biology class required an in-depth study of the theory of evolution. I was zealous for what was taught. I swallowed the supportive evidence as if it were proof. Not mindlessly, mind you; I really felt it was quite compelling." OK - so in HIGH SCHOOL he was a convinced "evolutionist." What happened after that? He went straight from High School to study Theology at Ambassador College, founded by cult leader Herbert W. Why is Armstrongism's "god" Such An Impotent Little Wuss?

Apostle Malm has a guest piece on today by Richard Trevor about church government and how Armstrongism perverted it.

One interesting little blurb is that Armstrongism's God was prohibited from giving WCG members the fruits of the spirit because of the organizational structure that HWA eventually settled upon.  That god sure is a weak impotent little wuss if he could not freely give his gifts to his own supposedly "called out" ones.

Atop the list of deficiencies created by our later-adopted organizational model, is the obstruction of direct inspiration of any individual, minister or otherwise.  God effectively was hamstrung in His ability to give spiritual gifts (‘Talents’) to anyone without the approval of the ruling class operating within the Church. For Him to have done so, and for the authority structure NOT to have approved such ‘gift’ first, an obvious ‘problem’ would have existed. 

One where the ministry would have seen it their obligation to squelch such a gift, and if not squelchable, to excommunicate the individual.  This caused a response where anyone so ‘gifted’ or who came to an understanding of a point of truth not first sanctioned by the chief seat(s) suffered repression.  

Richard is right that Meredith and other Church leaders did freely kick out anyone that claimed to posses fruits of the spirit. Meredith and crew thought, and still do to this day, all godly inspiration came from the top down and that the sheeple could not exhibit fruits greater than their overseers.  We have all seen that happen, but to say that God was "hamstrung" in doing it is absurd.

Apostle In Urgent Need For A Used Vehicle

The apostle's hands are open once more for his acolytes to fund him. Being an apostle is rough.  I guess sitting home all day doing proof-texting studies doesn't allow one time to have an actual job.  So please heed the call of the apostle and open your wallets.  PS  He does not want to hear any coin clinking, silent money only.

I have found that I am much happier because I don't go to church.   In fact I love to go to the beach and enjoy other activities in life.   Going to church is the same monotonous routine week in and week out.   In my life time I have heard thousands of sermons by preachers who stand in pulpits pretending that they are "somebody", when in reality they are nobody.   As a former member of the Worldwide Church of God, in fact very often when I did go to church happy and cheerful, I came away depressed.   The unhappiness I experienced is because of the preachers and their foolishness.   I was a young adult then and had to learn the hard way, that preachers are NOT God.

The world is overrun with hypocrites who stand in pulpits and who sit in pews.   Preachers and church goers have driven many into atheism, because the hypocrisy is simply unacceptable.   The church world is full of self-righteous human beings who think they are "righteous", while many others are not.   Is it a sin to drink a bottle of beer?   Is nudity a sin?   Is it wrong to "think" and ask questions?  Is it "rebellion" to doubt or question preachers?   Is it a sin to skip church?   Does God judge you as preachers preach that He does?  Are "professional" pastors really reps for Jesus Christ?   If you smoke marijuana are you bound for hell?  Does human government represent God or Satan?

Well, you get the point!  No matter how you "think", there are other options that you may have never considered and it is extremely doubtful that God is going to take a baseball bat to your head.  If you think that God sits on the edge of His throne, ready to pounce on you for what you think and how you live, you have been indoctrinated and programmed most likely by frauds who stand in pulpits.   Humans have been running around naked in the jungles of the world for thousands of years, and no doubt God loves them just as much as he does self-righteous people with clothing on their naked bodies.   My oh my, must women wear a net or bonnet on their head in order to please God?

Come now and let us reason, because no matter what you think that God thinks, you are most likely WRONG!

I must be doing something right considering the amount of hate mail I have received lately from "christians" in various COG's. A couple of them are wanna-be church leaders who's so-called "ministries" are so impotent that they are ticked that I get more page views than their web sites.  No Hollywood writer could make up stuff that is as stupid as what is coming out of Armstrongism right now.  All I can say is keep it up boys!

I was called to reread prophecy, not to make disciples nor to make nice with bloggers or the little people whose pantry shelves hold more than their minds. I neither ask for support nor take up an offering at weekly Sabbath services or on high days. And without asking for support, I am truly more financially impoverished than any critic I may have—and considering what I write, especially that the Book of Acts is a Trojan text, a Sophist novel, I should have a host of critics. So for the person who will take the time to follow the money, the trail is short: let it be known, I don’t reread prophecy, placing in print, hardcopy and electronic, what I find in Scripture because I want the adulation of disciples or the wealth of this world. I have already lived, from my perspective, in the choicest places in North America—the Oregon Coast, Kenai, Kodiak, Dutch Harbor—so it isn’t for material reasons I have declared since 2003 that there will be a Second Passover liberation of Israel, the nation to be circumcised of heart, from indwelling sin and death. I have nothing to gain from declaring a necessarily unpopular message, especially among uncovered firstborns, biological and legal. But it was to this task that I was called, and it is this task that I have done and will do and will continue to do.

Actually, I am surprised by how rare criticism of what I write is, considering the radical nature of what I have placed in print. And I appreciate knowing that someone has read my words. Now, if these readers will take the time necessary to look up the scriptural passages I cite and determine for themselves if I have faithfully cited the passage, using the passage in a reasonable manner, they may still disagree with me but they will find that there is no attempt to deceive, to make disciples, to enrich myself. The work I do is unlike any since the days of the Apostle Paul, and the very small amount of support received about equals what is spent on websites and office supplies. The bulk of my income comes from the work of my hands, past and present.
Would I have more credibility if there were many disciples and a mega-Church-complex, a television and radio broadcast, a slick magazine (that says nothing), and a reporter in Jerusalem … no, I wouldn’t. I would merely have more critics, with more screeching, squealing, their diminutive minds scurrying about searching for discrepancies (where I said such and such in 2003, but now say something a little different in 2012, as if I ceased to grow in grace and knowledge when setting out to reread prophecy).

My credibility will come with the Second Passover, or wouldn’t come ever. And that is fine with me. HK

Malm Planning a Spring and Fall Feast Site

After months and months  of declaring that he would NOT be starting a feast site, The Malm has changed his mind.  He is anticipating between 200 - 2,000 people showing up.  That's quit a haul for money so I can see why he wants to do this now. The Malm has been desperate for money  lately and this is a slick way to bring it in without begging.

The Malm is advocating that all his members take off 7 days in the Spring to keep the Feast of Unleaveneds and then another 9 days in the Fall.  I guess he is trying to imitate HWA when he also kept a 7 day spring feast.

I will now begin planning for a Spring ULB Feast Site, and will also begin to set up a fall Feast site for 2013. 

For the fall site I will be looking at several venues beginning with Sioux Falls SD USA and the Central States, looking for a central location.  At this point the location is not established and I would be grateful for any other  suggestions.   I am looking for a meeting site that will accommodate about 200 with the option to expand to accommodate at least 2,000, and I am more concerned about affordability [in accommodations, food and meeting halls] instead of a high impact vacation spot.

He said several months back that the COG's that have Feast sites in popular toursit areas are sinning.

Perhaps Apostle Malm would like to really set an example and take his flock to Detroit, Michigan.  I am sure there are some great rates there.  Think of the Christian witnessing you would be able to do!  You could bring a foretaste of the Kingdom of God to the poor of Detroit.

Malm Admits Miniscule Chance of Abomination of Desolation Being Set Up This Year

Darn it!  I was looking forward to the miracles to come flowing out of the Pope's fingertips in two weeks.  Now we have to wait another year because Apostle Malm screwed up his calculations.  Don't you just hate it when that happens!

Another epic failure.  Ho hum.

I believe that the time threshold for this pope dying and being replaced this year has been passed.

That means that only two possibilities remain.

1)  Either Benedict is empowered as the abomination on the appointed day, or

2)  this is NOT the year and we have another year to turn to our God and make ourselves ready.

I believe that the probability still exists for Benedict to be empowered, however that probability is now down to only a minuscule possibility.

The primary basis for speculating that there was a very good chance this year, was because the count from the resurrection on the 1,290th day of Dan 12, on the sixth day of ULB, ended up exactly on the day before Pentecost.

Pentecost representing a new beginning with God’s spirit being poured out on all flesh.

In fact, 2012 was an excellent probable year for the abomination to be set up and that could still happen, although it would be a real squeeze; as there appears to be not enough time for the coming war and its aftermath.

But the fool did not learn his lesson.  Like Rod Meredith, Herbert Armstrong and all the others, he just moves the date forward.

FYI  The count back 1,290 days from April 18th 2017 ends about Oct 6th 2013 for the setting up of the abomination.  Anyone wanting to do the math to confirm is most welcome:  Count back 1,290 days with April 18, 2017 being the 1,290th day.

The count to Pentecost:  Count from the 1,290th day on April 18. 2017, forward another 45 days.  This should land on a date BEFORE Pentecost, which will be on Jun 4th 2017.
