PCG Singles Disgusted By Planetarium Presentation

Those wild and crazy singles in the Philadelphia Church of God had a singles weekend at the end of December.  Activities included a trip to the Science Museum Oklahoma, bowling, or a trip to a trampoline park. Bowling and Bouncing

Those that went to the museum were subjected to the evil theories of evolution, dinosaurs, and the most disgusting of heathen traditions, the Christmas star, tree, the wise men and other delightful things. I think that maybe they should have stayed and actually learned something truthful for once instead of the canned bullshit from the church  "leaders" about these things. However, as martyrs for the truth, it was more important to take a stand and walk out bitching and whining about their delicate sensibilities being trampled upon.  Armstrongism has breed generations of  uneducated wimps

It was interesting when about 14 of us got up and walked out of the Planetarium after the guide gave us a run down of what we’d be learning about: Santa Claus, Christmas, the tree, the “star of wonder”, the wise men, etc. The other things to do and see at the Science Museum were fun though. I was off trying to solve a crime in the crime lab:)

  1. I wonder what the odds are that this planetarium in Oklahoma has a presentation that plays up Christmas-related stuff because throwing in a pseudo-religious angle is the only way they can attract folks from that benighted state to a science museum. Then, the PCG ingrates show up and get huffy and the poor planetarium still can't win for losing.

  2. You would think at the very least they would listen to what they had to say. You can always discuss among yourselves later what you thought was "false" and why. Are they going to be corrupted by words? It's just another reason to be thought of as a religious nut when it's not necessary. We're not talking animal sacrifice here.

  3. Glad the kids had some fun. However, I did note that not one person got a "strike" at the bowling party!

  4. I thought the comment about "solving a crime" was interesting. How but "solving the crime of religious deceit/abuse in the Philadelphia Church of God??"..."Solve that one Sherlock!"

  5. It's interesting. These people are easily shocked. It usually takes much more effort to shock the general public. The youth culture usually accomplishes this by flaunting the deliberate breaking of taboos, or adopting effects generally considered to be ugly or repugnant.

  6. I prophesy that of all the single women at the trampoline park, the one with the largest breasts and most jiggly booty will get the most marriage proposals.

As Florida member Brandy McDonald said, “All I wanted to do was touch and play with all the toys."

Yea, but that's not the way the arrogant PCG members work. They THINK they are more superior with all the knowledge they have. I remember going out to eat at restaurants with them. At least one or two would make a big issue with the waiter/waitress about whether something had pork in it. This was a great time the member thought to show their superiority in that they do not eat pork because God says so. I would be thinking, "SHUT_UP! YOU DON"T HAVE TO MAKE A BIG DEAL STUPID. BESIDES, YOU'RE MAKING ME LOOK STUPID TOO!"

  8. I remember going to a restaurant during "The Feast", years ago---

Because of my family's faithful tithing and answering Herbert's calls for needs to the Building Fund and his various other clarion calls, we hadn't eaten out in a restaurant for many many years.

So, finally one year we used 2nd tithe to have a meal at an actual restaurant during the Feast.

Ordering steak, we ordered it "well done", thinking that meant it was done better than any other way of preparing it. The waiter, recognizing our naïveté, tried to tell us that "well done" wasn't optimum, but Dad insisted on it and told us the waiter was influenced by Satan to try and give us less than the best.

Somehow, Dad didn't get into it with the waiter with whether any pork had been cooked on the same grill previously. (Probably because he was tired from his "well-done-versus-lesser-done" battle with Satan, which he of course had won, lol!)

  9. Was the museum guide advocating that people should keep it?

What we have here isn't real outrage or shock, but simply wanting to appear outraged and shocked in order to show The World how godly they are.

I bet when they left the collective IQ in the museum skyrocketed.

  10. What they actually accomplished was bringing on MORE persecution. As if they needed more!
