Some things never change with Rod Meredith and his henchmen.
From a reader here:
I just happened upon this post and I'm freaking out! It is ALL TRUE. RCM has re-instated the old WCG visiting ministers program so he can "check in" with members who may be less than fully supportive of him as the Supreme Ruler. League and McNair, his henchmen, have been instructed to "weed out" dissenters. There method is typically to isolate the woman because they know they are more likely to get them to crack/dish info on their husbands or other members. They ask for lists of the names of friends that might need "to be counselled" aka possible trouble makers that also need to be interrogated. If they can't find a legitimate issue with someone they want out of LCG they will just make something up. Meredith has NO PROBLEM lying about members if it serves his purpose. Anyone who questions him knows they will be next on the chopping block so people just remain silent to stay out of RCM's crosshairs. In the last year, 24 people that I know of have left the Charlotte congregation alone largely in part to these Gestapo tactics and absolute tyranny against anyone who dares question or have a critical/independent thought. Absolutely nothing has changed since Leona McNair. RCM uses his position and his microphone to destroy those who don't bow down to him.
The more RCM feels he is losing control, the tighter he clamps down. Practically every sermon is about obeying and submitting. Not to God, but to church authority. They demand blind obedience. Mr. League even went so far as to say that if he were to call a member in the middle of the night and ask them to drive circles around the block for 4 hours, they should obey without asking questions.
The League/ McNair team also monitors members private Facebook pages and ask members to remove posts or pictures that they don't like for whatever reason. They are so blinded by their power and agenda that they can't see all the members taking note of the false allegations they make about long-time members, the late night interrogations and the exodus of LCG members. It is widely talked about in whispers after services and at Friday night get-togethers. There is a storm brewing and they are completely oblivious!
i believe all of what that person said; not because they provided proof, but simply because what they said is aligned with my general predisposition of the cogs...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year... and...
ReplyDeletewhat's ahead for Armstrongism for 2015.
The question is, when is Meredith going to die?
ReplyDeleteIt won't seem so important then as splits and mass exodus ensues.
Does anyone want to tell us how Meredith and the LCG is any different that Das Experiment?
ReplyDeleteNote that English subtitles can be shown by clicking on the "CC" second icon on the right.
In its own way, "The Lucifer Effect" by Dr. Philip Zambardo upon which the drama is based in written form is absolutely appalling, but worth the read.
See Quiet Rage to understand the LCG better.
ReplyDeleteYou can make it so that they cannot see your facebook page.
ReplyDeleteI have :)
It is none of their business.
What a horrifying revelation. That is absolutely disgusting.
ReplyDeleteLet it be remembered that Meredith was one of the main enforcers of HWA's monstrous divorce and remarriage policy that destroyed so many families.
Meredith even wrote a letter in 1969 instructing WCG ministers how to enforce that most monstrous policy.
Clearly nothing has changed with Meredith.
The doctrines which make Armstrongism uniquely different from any other church groups are directly responsible for causing this type of behavior. As a measure of comparison, the form of government which we all know as Communism causes one identifiable set of conditions, a set that repeats itself every time it is tried, regardless of time period or geography. The same is true of the religion known pejoratively as Armstrongism.
ReplyDelete1). The claim to know details about a speculated apocalypse, and to be the gatekeepers to a place of safety from that apocalypse.
2). Government from the top down imposing legalism, rather than allowing transformation of the heart from the bottom up causing transcendent behavior.
3). Bizarre conspiracy theories involving the likes of British Israelism, lost centuries, and Simon Magus.
4). Failure to understand and accept grace and the New Covenant. Perversion of the New Covenant with picked and chosen elements of the Old.
When you allow points 1-4 to creep into your life, you are pretty much required to allow snoop dog ministers to be sniffing around at your door.
Vote with your tithes, people! It's the only thing that gets these despotic teachers' attention, and the only way to hold them accountable!
By the way, is Rod McNair Leona's son, or Buffy's son by his second marriage?
BB
Some more people have to be hurt and damaged ... sadly ...but maybe this is one way for the whole thing to go away. They are killing their own golden goose. It would be funny if not for the sincere people who suffer because of it.
ReplyDeleteMost of the people in LCG would argue with and attempt to refute and discredit almost anything posted on this blog, including our comments. So I have nothing much to say in response to this kind of stuff. You made your bed, people. Stop bitching and get out.
ReplyDeleteIt's 2015, for crying out loud. What, are you still waiting for the two witnesses, HWA and GTA, to lead you to Petra to keep you safe from the hippies and homos tearing down society and the Negroes overrunning our cities and women gaining positions of authority in business and government?
You're complaining, but you've chosen to be in Rod's church. Give it a rest, will ya?
Be very careful of ministerial interrogations. Especially as a woman. Never confide or confess anything of an extremely personal or private nature.
ReplyDeleteThe modus operandi of some in authority positions in the past has been:
"HANDS UP - PANTS DOWN"
Just a reminder here: Orthodox Jews do not tithe.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, tithing was not always a part of Orthodox Christianity. It is thought that tithes were not adopted by the Western church for over seven centuries. Although rejected, they were mentioned in councils at Tours in 567 and at Mâcon in 585. They were formally recognized under Pope Adrian I in 787.
So, the Pope of the Roman Catholic church brought tithing to Western Christianity.
So why does Meredith insist on it -- isn't that a form of Catholicism? Isn't the Living Church of God against Catholicism?
What a disappointment.
Well maybe Meredith will obey the First Commandment?
Not likely.

What an incredibly illogical response. Let me paraphrase the anonymous writer "I believe. Not because you have presented facts which are subject to proof but because what you say aligns with what I want to believe."
That comment is unworthy of any sensible discussion forum.
so if these so called facts are subject to proof why not simply provide the proof; else calling them facts is at the very least presumptuous and at worst calling a lie a fact, something that is of the devil...
Deleteattempting to belittle another person for their comment is a sign of a person who cannot present facts to support their point of view, so instead they resort to insults and humiliation...
DeleteReligion in general is just like a box. Armstrongism in particular is like a box inside the larger box called religion. Religion in general tends to use more subtle forms of control to keep people on the pews. Armstrogism uses more powerful forms of control.
ReplyDeleteBoth use shame and the fear of condemnation to keep people in the group or to attract them into the group. The only difference is that Armstrongism is much more heavy handed in use of these ploys.
The difference between armstrongism and mainstream religion is like the difference between Miller-Lite and full strength Jack-Daniels wiskey.
I like to call armstrongism, armstrangleism, because it strangles the human spirit and it enslaves people in a system of abuse.
Its been 20 years since Joe Sr. made wholesale changes in WCG doctrins. I wonder if any of the groups that benifited from the mass exiting of members will even be around twenty years from now.
ReplyDeleteMost of the people in LCG would argue with and attempt to refute and discredit almost anything posted on this blog, including our comments.
ReplyDeleteActually, they wouldn't. Most of the people in LCG, at least those under age 70, are there because they place a high value on family relationships, not because they have any special regard for Rod Meredith.
Almost everybody in LCG knows that Rod Meredith is a liar, and that he runs LCG like a family business, paying his unconverted children for unchristian or incompetent behavior that would get ordinary members kicked out.
However, almost everybody in LCG also knows that Rod Meredith is hardly unique. Going to a different ACOG, or going to a regular Christian church, would not mean getting away from liars and nepotists.
What's true is what the previous poster wrote, "They are killing their own golden goose." Meredith doesn't need that big of a church to keep his family comfortably paid. However, at some point, if enough people see enough of their friends kicked out of LCG, they will follow more quickly than Meredith can probably imagine. That's why Meredith's recent "God's Government Is Vital" sermon was so important. It seems to have been a "final straw" for quite a few LCG members, who have for years seen Meredith praising and rewarding the liars under him and abusing the people who have faithfully and loyally endured the liars and abusers for so long.
Quite a few LCG members who were trying to ignore Meredith and simply worship peaceably with their friends may now be investigating their options for leaving. My prediction, though, is that most will stay and wait to see what happens after Meredith dies. But they won't be doing this because they believe in Meredith or LCG. They'll be doing this because change is painful and friends/family are important enough that it's worth enduring a certain amount of nonsense.
AS IF...these insignificant piss ants were somebody important. AS IF they actually even counted as people! No, they are moronic, narcissistic, misogynistic pigs. I know, I know, pigs are unclean meat...which brings me to my point exactly. They are PIGS!
ReplyDeleteNot literally...maybe, but as compared to other people...yeah, pigs.

Yall are all invited to visit my FB page...even Jackman said.
Church members allowed this to go on because they submitted to it.
ReplyDeleteI can recall people asking if they should take certain jobs, sell their homes, etc. None of which is the ministry's business at all.
Frankly who you marry or divorce is also not their business.
Ministry should guide but not dictate.
The church's position is that people are preparing to rule in the Kingdom on earth. No one can prepare to rule if they cannot make their own decisions or judgments. If they are constantly under the ministerial thumb they will always remain children.
People need to think for themselves and stand up to the ministry and refuse.
When the original Global began things were not as bad. They needed members! Now they are more sure of themselves and take members for granted .
Orthodox Jews do not tithe:
ReplyDeleteNot so.
It is called Maaser and it is a tenth of income.
Today, however, it is given to the poor and considered like tzedaka or charity.
Maaser

The problem with all this is you stand up to the ministry and refuse, you get the boot...which people find out in the long run is the best thing that could have happened in their whole life because then you get to get on sites like this and complain about it. It's a hoot!
The sermon by RCM on "God's Government Is Vital" was pulled from all congregations and its websites. If you listened to it carefully it's clear he was defending the ministry. It wasn't the adultery, fornication or homosexuality that's taken place at HQ that upset him but rather people causing discord by questioning or not trusting the ministers. If gestapo style tactics worked in the past, why give them up now. Weed out those who aren't afraid to think on their own and preach unity to those who are blind.
ReplyDeleteI saw the sermon in question before they pulled it from the web. They pulled it because it was filled with lie after lie. Meredith hasn't learned much in the last 40 years. What was intended to make members knuckle under, ended up outraging many of them because it was obvious who they were making reference to in the sermon (even though the specific names weren't mentioned). Meredith had just marked several long time members and then went on to record the sermon/ sermonette. At one point he says one of the disfellowshipped members ran right away to "some bad guy" to give him "lies" to post on his blog (referring to the Mr. Apartian info on cogwriter). Unfortunately for RCM most of the audience already knew the marked members weren't guilty so he just ended up looking stupid and like an even bigger liar. THAT'S why it's been removed for content. Meanwhile all the members RCM throws out just lay down and take it. It's actually quite remarkable.
ReplyDeleteMy My what shall I pull from my diary today....Did you know that all the members of LCG have their own file. Yes they are keeping files on people. In it you will find Name, Age, Address, date Baptized. Number of children, And if they attended camp...and then any trouble they got into at camp. Your attendance records...(if you don't attend regularly they can put you out of the church.) Your financial records...if you don't tithe regularly they can put you out of the church. Your records of when you came into the church...counseling to see if you have some great outstanding sins that they need to protect the members from... And then other counselings from the ministry. And believe me they are detailed...and they tell all the other ministers about it. And every facebook post you put out there. Why do you think they need so many people in the internet department? Any average company of that size only has one or two people. They need 10. And if they need to come up with a reason to get rid of you they just consult the file and they can spin it any way they want to...as they have been doing recently. And if you are being considered for ordination they look at you records to see if you are a faithful tither, first. But they will deny this because they were suppose to do away with the keeping of records when WWCG broke up. People believe they are wonderful upstanding people who only have their best interest at heart. Nothing could be further from the truth. They will stop at nothing to keep what they consider (theirs). Better beware people...you do not know these people.
