For several years now the Chief Pharisee of the Churches of God has required the few women who attend his cult services to wear head coverings. Every once in a while a rebellious woman comes along and dares to question God's most important man this side of Dave Pack.
One acolyte writes:
James, Regarding “veils & head coverings” that you are convinced that women should wear, when attending Church Services. In fact, as I understand, you even require that women cover their heads with a hat or otherwise, if they wish to attend your Feast site. It is widely believed by the women I’ve discussed this issue with & our husbands, that a women’s hair is her covering. Several have commented that they would not attend with your group, because of this requirement. With all due respect to you, I ask that you consider lifting this requirement, as folks would appreciate being able to meet with others of like mind. I mean no disrespect to you, as you are doing a wonderful Work & I believe you are a very Godly man. Please DO NOT take this as a put-down, in any way. Thank you for your consideration.
God's unemployed professional moocher answers back with this. As usual it is the policy of the god he claims to follow instead of has poor biblical interpretations. Apparently still stung by his wife divorcing him, he has to lash out at all women to force them into submission.
It's amazing how the god of Armstrongism is eternally pissed at everyone and everything. The uneducated wannabe biblical scholars in the Churches of God have created a god that matches the domineering patriarchal attitudes of its leaders. Their anger permeates their sermons, booklets, and web postings. Malm sets himself up as the most unhappy man that the Church of God has ever had as a member. When law trumps grace, joy and happiness cannot be found. It is God’s word that requires this, not me. I have no authority to do as you request. If the hair is the covering, why must the head be shaved for not wearing the hair? That is the ridiculous reasoning of HWA which people have been brainwashed with. This is one of those TEST commandments and some are stumbling at it. If some would reject such a small thing to follow Christ; it is the same as Naaman rejecting bathing in Jordan to cure his leprosy. As Jesus said: “Faithful in little, faithful in much.”
See an earier blog entry on this subject: James Malm: God Is Not Limited By Head Coverings for Women...HOWEVER... It Is A Test To See If You Really Care
I doubt the Deity gives a rats ass about women covering their heads but it might please the Deity if James Malm put a bag over his head. What is Malm practicing - the Muslim faith? What next - a good old fashioned stoning?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Malm slams HWA's reasoning but HWA had more in his little pinky finger on a bad day than some of these unemployed Apostle wannabes will ever have on a good day.

Malm needs to wear a MOUTH COVERING!

ReplyDeleteToo late!
"It is God’s word that requires this, not me."
Said every COG leader ever. No, it is actually the Chief Pharisee's interpretation of his god's word that requires it. A totally different thing!
"This is one of those TEST commandments..."
Really? Says who? Anybody but the the Chief Pharisee? His god's word certainly doesn't say it's a test commandment.
"I doubt the Deity gives a rats ass about women covering their heads but it might please the Deity if James Malm put a bag over his head."
Agreed. A plastic one.
Test commandment? I thought that was circumcision. At least until St. James and the Jerusalem Council abolished it. Also, it had not been called a test, but a sign. The New Covenant sign was "that ye love one another". You don't need a hat, or even hair to do that. What would he do if one of the ladies in his congregation were undergoing chemo for breast cancer?
ReplyDeleteMalm stated a few months ago that he felt society had begun to go down hill when hats were abandoned. Hats! Imagine. I guess head coverings are a federal to him. Typical obsessive compulsive.

RA Heinlei apparently was not aware of sins that hurt oneself, as all sins do.

ReplyDelete"One of those TEST commandments?????????"
James, where do you get that? James, you cannot even find that phrase "TEST commandment" anywhere in the Bible!
James Malm can't get over the Fear Religion he continues to spew out on others. It is though James is totally blind to the following verse:
"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:19
If God is truly going to reconcile not only sealed Firstfruits, Christians, but the entire world, then where do TEST commandments enter that picture?
James, God is NOT a liar. God says He loves the world. Do you believe that?
He says via the Apostle Paul He will reconcile the world unto Himself?
So, where do your baloney TEST commandments fit into that Plan?
I ask that b/c with your scenario it does not fair very well for those who fail to keep what you consider to be TEST commandments. With you, James, there are lots of losers.
God created human beings for a reason. He loves them. He will reconcile them.
What are you going to do about that? Slip in some Fear Religion?
In fact, James Malm, God loves you so much that before all is said and done, He will accept you into His Kingdom........yes, despite all of the sins committed in your own personal life even today.
What kind of a Plan of Salvation does God have going that enables Him to reconcile the whole world. It is not a plan that has any of your "TEST commandments" as part of it.
James Malm, what inspires you to use a phrase, "TEST commandments," which can't even be found in the Bible? Here's a hint coming your way!
James, when Jesus Christ was supposedly blasting out the Pharisees for being hypocrites, fools, blind guides (You know; Matthew 23!!!!!), whited walls, serpents, vipers, etc. Jesus Christ was not blasting them out. Instead, he was blasting and chastising out the evil spirits that were driving, motivating, causing them Pharisees to spread Fear Religion. Proof?
Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
So, James, which of those Pharisees that Jesus was supposedly "chewing out" was alive during the time Abel's blood was shed? Which of those Pharisees that Jesus was supposedly "chewing out" was alive during the time Zacharias' life was taken?
Answer: none of them!!!!!!!!!!
James, stop making up your phrases in an attempt to scare us with Fear Religion and teach/preach to us how God is reconciling this world....and won't impute trespasses; otherwise, you come across as not all that different from such babes us Meredith, Flurry, Kubik, Franks, Ward, Winnail, Joey Tkach Jr., Rogers, Dave Pack etc.
