Ark of the Covenant May Be Discovered By Continuing Church of God

What is it with Gerald Flurry and Bob Thiel who think they will be agents of recovery hidden things  and revealed to the church?

Gerald Flurry bought an estate in England so that he could be close to the Stone of Scone and ultimate come into passion of it so that Jesus Christ can return to it through the Philadelphia Church of God.

Now we have Nearly Arrested  Elisha Elijah Amos Thiel, God's mightiest and most knowledgeable prophet ever to exist in this dispensation of the Church of God, who has now declared that he and the Continuing Church of God may be the ones to come into possession of the Ark of the Covenant.

It has been suggested that the physical ark of the covenant that the children of Israel had was patterned on one in heaven, thus it could still be on earth.  If it will be found, there is a small chance that the Continuing Church of God may have some involvement with it as we are considering involvement in an archeological project in Jerusalem in the area known as Mt. Zion. On October 24, 2013, while attempting to take some photos and to video some of the remains of the Church of God on Jerusalem’s Western Hill, I was approached by a Jewish rabbi named Avraham Goldstein of the Diaspora Yeshiva who claims that the Ark of the Covenant is below that building on Mt. Zion of the Western Hill.
It is going to be battle of the Churches of God, fighting over various digs in Israel in order to find something that their god has hidden especially for them.  With Flurry and Thiel digging up Jerusalem, its going to be bloody battle for winner take all.

A usual in all the Churches of God, they are attempting to imitate everything Herbert Armstrong did. None of them have ever been able to come up with anything original.  With their imitation colleges, their imitation archaeological digs, their imitation booklets and articles and their imitation beliefs they play at being something that died in 1986.  Something that they have never been able to imitate no matter how much they try.

God is no more going to reveal the Ark of the Covenant of Nearly Arrested Elisha Elijha Amos Thiel than he is going to let Gerald Flurry take possession of the Stone of Scone or Jacob's pillar stone as the mythologist call it.

Flurry and Thiel are both liars.

  1. Well if they find the Arch, Stanley Rader will file a copyright claim anyway.

Asfar as I know only University of Charlotte is digging at Zion. Dr Tabor, known to you sixties rebels here, is always looking for sponsorships for this worthy cause and help an american student get a tan and some real working man experience. You must have some savings, after all you departed ship in 1975. LOL

  3. 2Ch 18:21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.
2Ch 18:22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets,
Eze 14:9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived (sent strong delusion) that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
    Eze 14:10 And they (the laity) shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
God says that the laity will experience the same punishment as the false prophets they followed.
I will add that it's extremely easy to prove that Mr. Herbert Armstrong was the "man of sin", the "son of perdition".
If allowed by the monitor, you can find that article at itstimecog.com/man-of-sin/
He will be resurrected at Christ's return then "bundled" with the rest of the tares and cast into the Lake of Fire.

  4. God hasn't been hiding the Ark of the Covenant, only to allow it to be revealed just prior to the tribulation. Satan and his agents would love to get their hands on it, and destroy it. To me, they shouldn't even be looking.

  5. Actually. Gerald Flurry might beat Thiel to it. Gerald Flurry stated many years ago (when I was in PCG), that not only would PCG have the Stone of Scone, but also the Ark of the Covenant with them in the Place of Safety. He also hinted of the possibility, of a member of the Royal Family being there as well. That was of course until he determined that he was a King and would be the one sitting on David's Throne when Christ returned.

  6. Maybe Thiel will open it, and have all the fun that the Nazis had happen to them in the movie "Indiana Jones"!

  7. Why do these Armstrong Church of God clowns think God has something he has been hiding through the ages only for them to find in these last days? How do these archeology digs relate to the so called Great Commission? Did Christ say, "Go ye therefore into all the world, and dig and dig and dig down through the ages until you find the lost Ark of the Covenant?"

These digs have been sideshows in the past, and now is Sideshow Bob's clown sideshow. Like everything else sourced in the Worldwide Church of God and Herbert Armstrong, it won't amount to anything. It will just chew up the dumb tithe slave sheep's money and make "busy work" for Sideshow Bob's Armstrong Church of God franchise.

  9. Oh, great.

These people are no more credible than the late pseudoarchaeologist and fraud Ron Wyatt, who claimed to have discovered SO many biblical artifacts (including Noah's Ark and the Ark of the Covenant).

As the legitimate archaeologist Paul Zimansky stated, "I don't know of any expedition that ever went looking for the ark and didn't find it", speaking to the phenomenon of fraud and/or self-delusion of those seekers.

Fraudulent archaeologists' fake "findings" have often been sited by unscrupulous Christian preachers as being real facts, in order to make their minions' "spidey sense" tingle.
And, it surely works for those who are bent on 'believing'!

Even on this blog, Byker Bob wrote and gave us a "heads-up" about someone possibly finding the 'Jesus ossuary'.
(That fraudulent story pops up again and again every year just before Easter, LOL!)

  10. Now I'm picturing the Ark opening ceremony from the first Indiana Jones film with Thiel and Flurry replacing Toht and Belloq.

  11. The Indiana Jones movie Ark opening is taken from 1Samual where 70 people (there's a controversy amongst scholars about this number. Some translations put it at 70,000, which is too large a number for the city and surrounding region. A copying error is blamed) died when they looked into the Ark. Hollywood just jazzed it up.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Not a Jesus ossuary, 8:16. That doesn't exist because Jesus was resurrected and is in heaven with Father God.

It was the ossuary believed to be of James, brother of Jesus. And, the information, I believe, came from "The Jesus Dynasty", a book by Dr. James Tabor, an internationally acclaimed scholar and professor at a major university. He is not in the same category as Ron Wyatt, or Michael Rood. I became aware of Dr. Tabor's book several years ago when Gavin mentioned it on his blog.

  14. So, itstimecog, when October 13th rolls around, are you going to show up here to tell us all you are likewise a false prophet?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anon 3:16, no I won't show up to tell you anything of the sort, simply because I make no claim to being a prophet of any kind and on October 13th, you're going to be to busy trying to save your own butt to listen to anything I would have to say.

  18. At least within the Armstrong arena, even if a true forseeer of events were to surface, he'd be drowned out by all of the imposters.

Prophecy has been made into such a "federal" within Armstrongism, that everyone and their mother and their dog has gotten into the act. Talk about an inbred "gene pool"! The more time that elapses from the original expiration date (1975) the more people come out of the woodwork with their timelines and interpretations. This is why a real end time prophet simply could not come from an Armstrong background. That connection has been totally and irrevocably burned. The keeping of the OC sabbath, holy days, dietary principles, and tithing clearly have not been the collective key opening the door to prophetic understanding. That has been tried too many times, and has failed abysmally. God has not validated or placed his witness behind a single one of these people, including HWA himself!

  20. BB, you nailed it right on the head. Other then distortions, Armstrongism has no association with scripture.

Anon 8:42, give it a rest. Other then mindless childish blabber, why don't you grow up and check it out for yourself rather then rant on about something you know nothing about. Go your way until you can at least offer something valid.

  21. Yo, itstimecog, it's a great honor listening to a man with such amazing foresight as you. Heck, of the almost 7billion on this earth, you alone were chosen to reveal when the great quake is coming. Since you won't need any of your earthly possesions on Oct 14, do you mind divvying it up to us. Got any bank accounts or financial instruments? I call dibs on them. If you are still around by Oct 15, I will give you back what's left.

  22. Who's ranting? I just want to know what your plan B is. You should have plenty of bad examples in COGdom to show you how not to handle a failed prediction.

  23. "There is one [Ark of the Covenant] in heaven and one on planet Earth."

Exactly right. As soon as I read this, a pinkish aura appeared around the words, and I knew they had to be true.

Even truer, the Ark in heaven is the master copy. The one on planet Earth is an exact duplicate, as are all the Arks of all the Covenants on all the other inhabited planets in the galaxy. They may even be distributed on other galaxies throughout the Universe, but the aura was not bright enough for me to be sure.

  24. Yo Opportunist, it's as God says, He reveals it to His prophets, one of which I am NOT.
With an attitude like you have, you better hope I'm wrong.
Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Deductive reasoning tells us that the earthquake of Rev. 16:20, where islands/mountains disappear, happens at Christ's return. It's the day He takes over. The earthquake of Rev. 6:14 is when Christ comes to gather His elect.
In order for His elect to have that status, obviously, they must be judged and found worthy - Luke 21:36
There is only one day which God has dedicated to the sealing of that judgment, where their names are written in the "Book of Life". That day is the Day of Atonement.

You can add to that the events depicted in Rev. 8. Verses 1-5 describe the events that transpire only on the Day of Atonement.
We know that the elect are accounted worthy to "escape all the things" that come to pass during the Great Tribulation and Rev. 8:13 tells us that at that point, the "Woes" haven't yet started. Hence, at that Day of Atonement, the elect are sealed, (by taking them into the wilderness) and the woe's begin.
There is much more that can be gleaned from scripture relating to those events but this isn't the forum for a sermonette.
In closing, I want it perfectly clear that I am NOT seeking a following but simply sharing what I have learned. You can take it or leave it, I just couldn't care less.

    ReplyDelete
  25. itstimecog, I see evidence that you actually could care less. You could care so little that you would not bother writing anything at all, but just sit there smugly waiting for the rest of us to fall to weeping and gnashing our teeth on the Day of Atonement.

The question is, WHICH Day of Atonement? A new one comes around every year, and about five billion years stretch out before us until the sun bloats to a red giant and sears all life off the surface of the planet. You cannot possibly last that long. In fact, the human species can't either. But no matter. The Day of Atonement is a divinely appointed time, whether any human being is around to observe it or not. By and by, the event you foresee will surely come to pass, even if you are not there to gloat.

  27. Retired Prof, the post you're commenting on was directed to Yo Opportunist. I took exception to his assumptions as I do yours.
As I said, this is not a forum for a sermonette nor would I care to give one, however, that being said, I would gladly share all that I have come to understand, with anyone that is sincerely interested.
The downfall is that it seems there is more interest in criticism then actually researching it.
For the most part, I can understand where the skepticism and ridicule comes from and have partaken of that very thing in relation to the ridiculous non-sense being foisted upon us by the COG since the start of Armstrongism.
That outrageous crap does nothing but confuse and distract from what the prophets really do say.
The place in the wilderness for example. Christ tells us exactly where it will be and you can be sure it isn't Petra.

Again Retired Prof, if you and/or others are sincere and really want to know, I will gladly share it all but by the same token, why should I expose myself to any abuse from those whose only interest is that very thing.
Regarding your expectant "weeping and gnashing of teeth", if you made that new covenant with Christ and are adhering to the old covenant of paying tithe, then by all means get prepared for weeping and gnashing.
That leaves us in a quandary in that we are commanded to support those who "give meat in due season" but today, as far as I know, no such person exists.

Hi Ralph, point taken but again, my comments were directed at Yo Opportunist and based on his approach, I really couldn't care less.

I don't believe it's Petra either, right in the middle of serious conflict. But, seriously, where do you suggest?

    also:
"...if you made that new covenant with Christ and are adhering to the old covenant of paying tithe, then by all means get prepared for weeping and gnashing."

I don't believe that paying tithes will result in "weeping and gnashing". In the first place tithing is not incumbent for those of the New Covenant. But, if you can afford it and want to tithe make sure your money is for the benefit of the poor and needy.
None of the COG leaders of today can be found in that category.

"2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

    cheers

  29. Hi Ralph, being "right in the middle of serious conflict" won't be an issue.
Remember that Satan's army is wiped out when you're taken into the wilderness and there is a emphasis on the protection God provides.
There is a lot of evidence that points to Shiloh, Shechem and even Mount Moreh being included.
Keep in mind that at the start, there will be around half a million people to care for and that number will increase daily.
The time span of 3.5 years will prove to be exhausting with all the preparations needed to care for those who survive the Great Tribulation.
With all the topographical changes and devastation from the war, one can expect a mass influx of survivors as the wilderness area will be a paradise compared to the rest of the world in general.
Also, at the start of the millennium, it is the place where God's law via His people will go out to the rest of the world.
That being said, I have not researched the size as I feel it is immaterial, knowing that whatever is required will be provided.
You said you "don't believe paying tithes will result in "weeping and gnashing" and you're right. It's not the paying of tithes but rather the keeping of the old covenant once one has made that new covenant with Christ.
That was my way of taking a cheap shot at the COG groups in hopes of waking some of them.
It's so serious that Christ says none invited to the marriage super are going to make it.
In closing, thanks for your interest and courtesy.

P.S. Retired Prof scolded me for not revealing which Day of Atonement I referred to, suffice it to say, this last Passover was also the last chance to keep the Passover worthily. It's time cog, to get serious.
