Twiggy seems to be messing with LCG doctrines.

In other words Dear Brethren...don't concern yourself with the Scarborough's suing the church or the fact that they subpoenaed over 200 of us, that's not important. Nor are all those pesky twiggy doctrines floating around that James Malm and Bob Thiel keep declaring need to be kept.
As usual, the entire reason for the posting was the fact that all the problems in LCG are the result of members sticking their noses into things that don't concern them. The hierarchy of the LCG is not accountable to the membership.
Yeah sure, Christians should focus on what's good and positive, and right and true. This is a package deal, a combination of truth and error. The truth part is that focusing on the good and positive etc, has merit. The negative is that he is also asking members to ignore the abuses in the church, effectively giving the ministers a moral blank check. Christ did in fact pass moral judgment on evil leaders as in 'beware of the Pharisees for they.... rip off widows houses etc' (robbing church members of their rights.)
ReplyDeleteBefore HWA married a woman young enough to be his granddaughter and a divorcee at that, we were subjected to months of sermons about why women should marry old geezers rather than young men. Then the divorce and remarriage "doctrine" was changed so that HWA could do what others were forbidden to do.
ReplyDeleteIt was the same with so much else. The sermons and letters that eased the way for pet doctrines, iffy agendas and other junk.
Yes, nothing "Twiggy" about disfellowshipping and shunning.
Dr W notes: "They don’t let interpersonal differences hinder their spiritual growth "
ReplyDeleteOf course marking and dis-memberment takes care of those pesky interpersonal differences from the top down.
Abandon all hope, ye who enter any COG.
ReplyDeleteSounds as if Doug is attempting to reset the agenda. That might work for a few members, but overall, "Caution: turbulence ahead!"
ReplyDeleteBB
"Truly focused Christians don’t have time to..."
ReplyDeleteNo true Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge...or calls Rod Meredith out on his bullshit.
'interpersonal differences' means the ministers and their bootlickers bashing the church members whenever they don't give them what they want.
ReplyDelete"Interpersonal differences"...would "race" relations and "international relationships" (i.e. interracial relationships and interracial marriages) fall into that category?
ReplyDeleteSo Rod can say that interracial marriage is a tool of satan in his sermon to destroy the family, and converted husbands and wives are supposed to just sit there and take it??
Doug Winnail also wrote, "Jesus was a mission-oriented person who challenged His disciples to follow in His footsteps (Matthew 4:18-22). Truly dedicated members of God’s Church will be committed to that same mission..."
ReplyDeleteJesus would have never done to the Scarborough's what LCG did. Maybe members are heeding the cry to "follow in His footsteps". Afterall, He did leave for us a perfect example and no one is going to convince me that Jesus Christ would have done what Rod Meredith and Rod McNair did to those people.
I seem to remember Him saying something like "he who is without sin cast the first stone".
Or how about leaving the flock to go into the wilderness to find that one lost sheep?
LCG needs to practice what they preach. They want the congregants to be docile as lambs while the administration gets free reign to act like wolves. It's disgusting.
Where Is Your Heart?
ReplyDeleteJesus urged His disciples to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). He also said, “My food [My nourishment, My focus, what motivates Me] is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34). Jesus was a mission-oriented person who challenged His disciples to follow in His footsteps (Matthew 4:18-22). Truly dedicated members of God’s Church will be committed to that same mission: preaching the gospel, warning the world, feeding the flock and being Christian lights in a dark world (Matthew 5:14; 24:14; 1 John 2:15-17). Truly focused Christians don’t have time to get sidetracked on material pursuits, private agendas or twiggy doctrinal ideas (2 Timothy 2:14-18). They don’t let interpersonal differences hinder their spiritual growth (Romans 12:14-18) or their goal of developing the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5-11). Real Christians focus on what is good and positive and right and true—they don’t listen to rumors and they don’t dwell on complaints (Philippians 4:8). The Sabbath is a good time to reflect and ponder the questions: What is your focus, and where is your heart?
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail
Doug says, "Real Christians focus on what is good and positive and right and true—they don’t listen to rumors and they don’t dwell on complaints (Philippians 4:8).."Perhaps this is advice to LCG gestapo instead of the brethren. I mean, it is possible that he is sick of all their horribly unchristian behavior. If he is converted, it would be difficult to watch the men he works with behave as they do. If he truly has in mind the goal of which he speaks, maybe he's annoyed that the men he works with have put the "work" at risk (if the Scarborough's win).
Maybe I'm giving Doug too much credit...
I heard Sabbath that there are more depositions this week. Quite a few people I know have already been questioned but nobody is talking about what the questions were.
ReplyDeleteSeeds of doubt are already taking root. DSW and the others need to do damage control. People like the Scarborough's and they got gutted. It's a lot easier to forget about it if it's not in your face but if people are called to depositions, they have to think about how the men they follow have treated these people and others which, I imagine, could make it hard to sleep at night.
A conscious is a horrible thing to waste. If your gut is telling you that the leaders of your church don't behave like men of God, maybe you should listen. By staying, you are condoning it. Keep the Sabbath and the Holy Days, I do, but stop supporting a corrupt family business that does as much harm as good. Be brave. Do the right thing. You will be rewarded in the long run.
"private agendas or twiggy doctrinal ideas"
ReplyDeleteLike DSW's "falling away" doctrinal idea???
"being Christian lights in a dark world"
ReplyDeleteReally!? Hypocrites and liars!
Do the men at LCG really think they are behaving as lights in a dark world?
ReplyDelete“Living Church of God: Are Twiggy Doctrines Messing With The Minds of LCG Members?”
Absolutely!
All those hybrid gospel, marriage supper in heaven, great falling away in the world, etc. doctrinal changes are really messing with the minds of LCG members.
RCM saying that he is not changing what HWA had taught, but that HWA would want him to grow and make these changes that he is making, just adds to the mental confusion.
If RCM does not repent of his material pursuits, private agenda, and twiggy doctrinal ideas, LCG members will all continue to be under a curse and go nuts.
What really did damage to Ron Weinland's group was the testimony at his court trial, and its transcript, and his church members reading it, and seeing and realizing for the first time the depths of what their "leaders" had done.
ReplyDeleteIf something similar develops in LCG as a result of the Scarborough episode, it will probably wake up many members. We are no longer living in an era in which it is guaranteed that church members will believe what they are told to believe, or automatically side with the ministry on command.
It seems self-obvious that LCG did not settle this thing in the earlier stages because they see it as a test of church authority, and are attempting to make a show of defending that as a concept, when it is really about ethics. It should be interesting to witness the final outcome of these events.

What spiritual growth had Doug shown compared to the Doug of decades ago? Enough to qualify and earn his way into his Mickey Mouse Millennium reigning with "another Jesus" on earth "very soon?"
How much of the mind of Christ has Doug really developed? Enough to qualify and earn his way into his Mickey Mouse Millennium (MMM) reigning with "another Jesus" on earth "very soon?"
It's all about self.
We're told what God will do for focused Christians who are sealed by God's Spirit:
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" Phil 1:6
Doug is going to not hinder his spiritual grown and develop the mind of Christ all by him ownself, but Doug, when will you believe that it is God will perform, or finish it...it, something He, not you, began, or started.
Will Doug make himself accepted somehow? It's all about self.
"To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." Eph 1:6
It is God, not SELF, that will "make us accepted in the beloved" ... in God's Church!
Thankfully, God isn't looking for us to do all that the living hirelings think we must have and do as they continue to rule over their members with their brand of Fear Religion.
Huh, God do something??????? Anything? Try this:
Romans 8:For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
God foreknows, predestinates, calls, justifies....and finishes it with that "glorified" bit: whatever that means.
If you were Satan, how would you rule over people? With Fear Religion and do it through the leaders that have lots of control over many others!
What kind of "fruit" is that? Another way that seems right, but bears bad, evil, fruit if another Jesus is involved.
John
Continuing...
ReplyDeleteYour MMM (Mickey Mouse Millennium) is a twiggy doctrinal idea....even a material pursuit of GET for SELF to "RULE OVER" others forever with Fear Religion.
Focusing on a MMM is not "good and positive and right and true." It is false.
Tell the people about the deception and havoc to occur after Satan is loosed from the bottomless pit, and even Doug's "another Jesus" won't be there to stop it! Even the "everlasting peace" had not even begun.
Enuf said? etc. Focused Christians don't need to focus on the negative either, but at least first learn the "good, and positive, and right, and true" and teach that. You have enough to do with doing that. We don't need anymore Fear Religion as if we could qualify, or un-qualify, ourselves from being in God's Kingdom!
What were the qualifications, the prerequisites, that the sheep needed when the following is said by the real Jesus, and not by "another Jesus" that Doug, and Rod, and Franks, and Kubik, and Hulme, and Flurry, etc. follow?
"...Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:"
The blind lead the blind and so I guess they just must preach another Jesus, another spirit.......and another gospel.
Jesus knew the done deal end result was from "the foundation of the world" and not from someone, some works, some deeds, something, anything "of SELF!" Trouble is that Doug thinks he has it all together and he is doing it, but you can only fool us for awhile. The scriptures will expose you and your thoughts...as you keep writing them out for all of us to see...
And time goes on...
John
I heard that Doug Winnail isn't towing the LCG line and is about to either get fired or exiled to a less powerful position in Tinbuckto. I wonder if he was expected to lie for LCG but refused. Or maybe he stood up to RCM at one too many COE meetings. Perhaps he opposed Weston or got caught saying something negative about Jim Meredith. Maybe he just can't take the corruption any more and is making plans to leave of his own accord.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that the vulture Rod McNair (who is presently assistance CAD)is standing in the wings licking his chops and sharpening his blades preparing to become the boss of all the ministers. Who knows, maybe Rod McNair will be the instigator of the lies/ allegations that lead to Doug's demise. Obviously, McNair is okay with that kind of thing.
One things for sure, the LCG soap opera continues...
ReplyDeletePowerful points there 1:46 PM
I heard...I wonder...Or maybe...Perhaps...Maybe...I'm guessing...Who knows, maybe...
After such piffle you conclude with "One things (sic) for sure..."
Yeah right!
Priam,
ReplyDeleteWhy did you pounce on Anon 1:46 PM's points as you did?
Do you not believe that the LCG is a destructive cult, and that Rod's teachings are basically a crock of shit?
Are you or your family members members of the LCG?
Please clarify. Thank you!
I am uncertain what "twiggy" means. Obviously, the photo of the model Twiggy at the top of the post is a visual pun; I get that part.
ReplyDeleteBut the adjective "twiggy"? I'm guessing it is based on the tree metaphor Garner Ted used to use when he mentioned some principle amounted to "basic, trunk-of-the-tree doctrine." Twiggy doctrines would then be both peripheral and insubstantial.
Did I get that part too?
Anon 9:50 AM,
ReplyDeleteI used Anon 1:46 PM's points to highlight the level of reasoning they brought to the forum. Theirs was all nebulous opinion with nothing of substance. Are you not able to read their words for what they are? 'Piffle' accurately describes their piece. It is of no consequence. They state a series of inconsequential unsupported suppositions and then kid themselves and others that they can summarize with a conclusion of substance. One cannot build a structure of integrity out of blancmange.
Trouble is some here cannot see through such piffle and I think it's useful to give them a little eye salve occasionally.
School teacher Priam, your point has been brought up and addressed on this blog. We live in a world where we often do not have all the information, so we make our best educated guess. In fact this applies to many if not most of our decisions. Hence the maybes and likelys. This is very different to your primary school classes where everything is black and white. We live in the adult world, you do not. And you have added no intellectual content here, but just play fault finding school teacher, as if the world is your personal classroom. Don't let people know who you really are.
ReplyDeletePriam, often the nature of one's "comment" is opinion.
ReplyDeleteThou protest too much.
I wonder why???
Perhaps 146 is on to something.
In your effort to make others look stupid, you make yourself look more stupid.
Go get another serving of Kool-Aid and sit down.
