From Rod Merdith warning about your gay neighbors, unisex bathrooms and rampaging Chinese/German/Muslim hoards, to Jimmy Meredith preaching at the annual Christmas party, these great messages can no longer be heard online without giving LCG your name and getting a password so you can listen.
Gerald Weston has laid down more laws as he rises in power. He and only he was will approve which messages the unwashed masses can listen to online.
Live broadcasts are no longer open for anyone to view.
David Good’s service for COGWA - which allows non-members to request a password to view live Sabbath and holy day services - has been discontinued by LCG. Only recorded sermons that have been authorized by Gerald Weston will now available.
Roderick Meredith will of course decide if the livestrem service on Christmas Eve during the Family Weekend festival is to be open to everyone, as it was last year. COG NewsAny church that claims to be presenting a witness to the world does NOT hide their sermons and articles behind password protects. LCG needs to do this because Rod Meredith, Gerald Weston, Richard Ames and others says stupid things.
It has nothing to do with the "milk and meat" nonsense that the church has always used. Babes to the "truth" don't need milk sermons anymore than regular members need "meat" sermons.
If prospective members actually knew what LCG preached they would run the other direction. After publicly being shamed by Meredith's sermon contributing to the Milwaukee murders, LCG knows it can't afford to the have sermons freely up online for the public to listen to.
Boasting that your message is BOLD and a WITNESS TO THE WORLD is a lie when you hide behind firewalls. The gospel is free to anyone who wants to listen and cannot be thwarted by embarrassed men hiding behind passwords to protect their uninspiring, legalistic, and graceless messages.
Assuming that I were an ACOG member (which I am not), I would most likely listen to messages from all of the ACOGs, not just my home group. There are a number of reasons, not the least of which is basic freedom of information, and the responsibility incumbent upon us all to make unfettered and informed decisions related to our lives and families. I would not accept censorship or restrictions such as those Weston is attempting to impliment. I also probably wouldn't single source my tithes. But, that's just me and my system of checks and balances.
ReplyDeleteThese leaders just don't seem to realize that COGdom has become a huge variety store with many brands and generics teaching basically the same things. There are more and less expensive ones, stronger and weaker formulas, multiple dose or time-release, and orally or rectally administered ones, but all promising basically the same things, and administered by the same basic personality profiles. How could anyone ever be sure that they got the right one? (Psst: there is no such thing)
BB
Since when LCG opened live streaming for sermons? If I'm not mistaken, it has never been the case. These streamings have always been only for members.
ReplyDeleteThe COG News page is confused. How could LCG discontinue a service by COGWA?
ReplyDeleteLCG has a form online to make sure only registered people can watch Feast videos:
http://webcast.lcg.org/login.php
Notice, however, that it asks how many people will be watching your stream "for attendance purposes." Since every site coordinator wants to be able to report good numbers, it's pretty likely that you can sign up and say "the Jones family visiting from COGWA" is your stream and will have 12 people watching, and they will approve you just as if you walked in with a big family.
LCG live streamed sermons have always been behind a password for members only. These type of posts further discredit this site. But then again when do facts ever matter here?
ReplyDeleteSome UCG congregations used to cybercast their services live. I don't recall if it was only available to members or if it was available to anyone, but Cincinnati shut that shit down entirely. Something about lawsuits because the laws of the land, especially in Canada, IIRC, classified UCG beliefs in spoken form as hate speech.
ReplyDeleteOh give it a rest 9:37 Thats all you ever say whenever you believe something posted here is wrong. What is truly discredited is the Living Church of God when it treats its members the way it does and when Rod Meredith lies to the membership. There is nothing credible about the minister of the LCG, no matter how much you want to whitewash them. False doctrines, lies about prophecy and the end times makes the LCG the laughing stock of the church.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete“Why Is Living Church of God Embarrassed About Its Message?”
Saying for the past 50 years that you will see the things he is predicting begin to happen in the next 3 to 5 years does not indicate that Roderick C. Meredith is embarrassed at all. It indicates that he has no shame. Apparently, neither do his children.
Any church that claims to be presenting a witness to the world does NOT hide their sermons and articles behind password protects. LCG needs to do this because Rod Meredith, Gerald Weston, Richard Ames and others says stupid things.

ReplyDeleteDon't kid yourself. They release plenty of stupid things openly:
LCG Sermons
Plenty of material to let the blobs and Laodiceans and perverts and wife-swappers and Assyrians find out what LCG is all about!
We should rejoice that lies and delusions of the cult have been limited in scope.
ReplyDeleteThis way fewer people will be harmed by their stupidity.
Honestly? LCG should just link to youtube for "Mr. Methane's Greatest Hits". That would be a much more powerful message than anything the LCG could come up with on their own, and it would do a far more effective job of warning the world! It is also of a more highly intellectual nature than anything wafting forth from LCGU. In fact, it will be reminiscent of the AC mens' dorms during HWA's heyday! Nuff said?
ReplyDeleteLCG live sermons have always been behind a password. This is nothing new. This webcast portal is protected by their insurance policy. UCG's home office streams each week without a password.
ReplyDeleteWas it PCG that issued an order some years ago to destroy all sermon tapes? It reminds me of scenes in WW 2 movies like destroying all the files in the Japanese Consulate in Honolulu on Dec 6.
ReplyDeleteWith all the R/WCG's magazines, coworker and member letters, broadcasts, etc, it's so easy for anyone to find evidence to refute some of the claims made that HWA "was right!"
Earlier this century when Podcasting kicked off, LCG loaded the audio portion of all the Tomorrow's World (is that the right name? All these variations of TWT...). I remember listening to "What will happen in 2001?", made a few weeks before 9/11. Not the vaguest hint of what that event would unleash...
Hoss wrote: I remember listening to "What will happen in 2001?", made a few weeks before 9/11. Not the vaguest hint of what that event would unleash...
ReplyDeleteLCG members found it remarkable that a sermon video Mr. Meredith made in the summer just before 9/11 included footage of the WTC Twin Towers and was shown in many congregations the week before or the week after the infamous attack
4:04, did Rod have anything whatsoever prophetic to say about the sand monkeys in his pre-911 message? Or, was he misdirecting his listeners' attention, as usual, to the Germans? It is really quite ironic that the Rohan incident is so widely credited with having spawned radical Islam. That is yet another part of HWA's egregious legacy.
ReplyDeleteThe Old Embarassdors?
ReplyDeleteThe reference to "Christmas Eve" stands out to me. It is a bit shocking in a way that a group with its adherence to HWA' s teaching would call the date by its name. Back in the day some of us were so avoidant to it that we should refer to the date not the "worldly" term. Are they loosening up on their stance about Chistmas?
ReplyDeleteBB Noted: "Isn't it funny how ACOG leaders pick characters from the Bible to represent themselves in flattering ways, and miss the most obvious of parallels?"
ReplyDeleteIt's a phenomenon isn't it in the COGs. Everyone finds themselves either like a Moses, Abraham, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zerubbabel ( who I had never heard of even as a kid in Sunday School), Malachi or some minor prophet. They have avoided being a David , well unless they are men after God's own heart, or a Solomon, even though some , if not all, of them like the lifestyle. The best of both worlds.
We should have gotten the first hint of this with the focus of the Sabbath School and YES programs and lessons. Jesus who?
No one wanted to be like any of the 12 as they were mere doofus material , until they got to be Apostles. That changed the available types ever so slightly as most of them disappeared into oblivion and lore. No one wants to be Judas though again, they hire them to do their accounting and be their lawyers.
Skipping being like Jesus, we only have Peter, James, John and Paul to choose from. Peter is popular when talking about how one gets the Keys to the Kingdom and power. Like a James would be "like a lawman" which is great! Like a John...hmmm, ok, not much like a John unless he backs up the lawman James as he did. Paul? Well that depends. Sometimes he's a lawman and they like that and sometimes he's a Graceman, what's that?????? He did say if we give you spiritual things how much more should you give us your stuff, so they like being a Paul for that. They all demand obedience to the ministry and leadership and that they all speak the same things so there is no division , so who can't like that?
But, alas, if one is drawn to the narrative...it is still mostly "Jesus who?"
Oh! And they simply love being like CHRIST in thinking of how everyone is going to get their asses kicked/fried by him, in love of course.
"LCG live streamed sermons have always been behind a password for members only. These type of posts further discredit this site. But then again when do facts ever matter here? "
ReplyDeleteI have read of several events on this site that I had first hand personal knowledge of, and found the reporting here to be severely lacking. Basically, partial truth presented as whole truth, which leaves the reader with the absolute wrong impression. There have been times where the "facts" presented were completely false.
There is a very strong anti-God bias here, which colors everything on this site. The writers cannot separate HWA from the truth of the bible. If HWA said it, it must be wrong.
Heck, even the extremist kook and racist Franklin Graham who recently took over his father Billy's ministry doesn't require a password to access the racist garbage his and his dad's ministries have spewed.
ReplyDeleteWell, 8:17, it all depends on your perspective. It's how you look at things. I value the insights of my Native America friends, who often provide a completely different, but very rational approach to many of life's dramas. Several years ago, I had the flu and had to delay a service call at one of my key customer locations. I apologized profusely to the suprevisor, who was of the Native persuasion. She told me, "Bob, look at it this way. Your illness is a time of purification." That gave me great comfort and encouragement at a time when I was really at a low ebb.
ReplyDeleteAnd, what I realized by extension, is that the prevalence of atheism in the aftermath of Armstrongism is also a time of purification, a time when all of the mind-bending, and the humanity warping aspects are purged from peoples' systems. Once this purification takes place, people can once again move forward on their journeys.
It is a shame that a religion, ostensibly a system of spiritual guidance would cause such damage in its participants' lives, necessitating a time of purification, but that is the fruit that false teachers and false prophecy will always produce. There is no mystery here. The things which you see acted out here, some of which may shock you, were not caused by bitterness or Satan. They were directly caused by Herbert W. Armstrong, and are totally purifiable and fixable.

8:17 I agree. LCG has a lot wrong with it but this site does not get the facts. Example John Robinson and fasting at teen camp come to mind. And I have serious doubts about the whole scarbough lawsuit.
ReplyDeleteSince LCG is a non-profit can we by law find out what their top 5 payed people are and how much?
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous 8:17am:
ReplyDeletea Hearty Thanks for bringing up your True Witness that they are lacking!
I'm in another COG Group, but it doesn't matter. We're all fair game, now and the people on these sites have seen the Dictators, the unconverted sons of "big names" with their arrogance to boot(I Samuel 2 anyone?), the crooks, the liars, the pathetic false profits(opps, prophets), the predators....on and on..
Too bad the rot overshadows the genuine Christians, the real Ministers(yes they exist). You better brace yourself for the "pile on" factor.....
To you and any that still hold on to the Truth...
God has never failed. Man's playing church fails. True conversion doesn't..
The main speakers of this blog have turned a great tragedy into a laugh-fest..
Our Bad example blasphemes God's name among the Gentiles. (Romans 2:24)
Keep calling out the sneering ghosts of this blog. They're missing something very important...!
Well, let's see now... who does God hate more: Some blog owner trying to get it right as best he can or a false prophet bringing shame to God's Name by taking it in vain and then covering it up pretending to be 'an angel of light'.
ReplyDeleteAn angel of light all right -- Lucifer.
It would seem that the lies and downright deception of these men of Satan would certainly be much more irritating to God... if He paid one bit of attention to them at all (but of course, they are so worthless that He likely doesn't and will postpone dealing with them until the Lake of Fire).
Just out of curiosity, a brief question for our visitors from the COG splinters: Who are the ministers whom you trust? And, based on what criteria do you find them trustworthy? How do you know that they speak the truth as opposed to dealing in spin?
ReplyDeleteBB
BB I trust NOONE but God. Trust should be earned. They all mere human men. In all your ways look to God and HE will direct your paths, not any human with a title.
DeleteI trust neither the ministry nor the people who run this site.
DeleteOK, allow me to rephrase: Who are the "real" ministers that you were referring to?

Considering the only other industry I can think of that hides its product behind passwords is porn, I'm rather amused at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAnd you all can get holier-than-thou about that remark if you like, but your darling cult is taking a cue from porn sites. ;)

ReplyDelete"BB I trust NOONE but God. Trust should be earned. They all mere human men."
I can't see my way clear to trust an entity I cannot detect. How did he earn your trust? It couldn't have been the Bible, considering that its authors were all mere human men.

Living in Charlotte and having attended LCG for years, I too have personal 1st hand knowledge of the reporting here and it is way more right than it is wrong.
Sure, there might be occasional small details that are incorrect but the major points and stories are all true.
It's deciding what to do about it that's the problem (and something that I struggle with and pray about daily).
If you believe the stories false, then you are either ill informed OR your powers of denial are more powerful than mine are.
See you tomorrow at church.
LCG can't live stream for 3 reasons:
ReplyDelete1 they lack the ability/technology. It's practically a miracle that they can pull of the live webcast on winter family weekend. Anyone involved, knows what a major ordeal last year was. They don't have the infrastructure to do that every week. COGWA and UCG are far advanced technologically speaking over LCG.
2 they say crazy shit ALL the time! I mean seriously, have you ever heard a Rod Meredith sermon? He could be shouting the word "queer" at the top of his lungs or talking about anal sex or bestiality at any given moment. Or talking about how non-LCGers are going to be herded into concentration camps in the tribulation.
And RCM isn't the only one. The others aren't much better.
3 then the other ACOGs would be able to spy on them and hear that Weston, Meredith and all the others preach that LCG is the ONE AND ONLY true "Philadelphian" (although I continue to struggle to find one ounce of brotherly love in LCG hierarchy) church of God and that all the others are Laodicean because they are watered down and not teaching the true gospel. Then the next time they have a diplomatic visit from Jim Franks or Victor Kubik, the pretend nicey-nice would be an obvious sham.
And that, my friends, is why LCG can't do live webcasting like COGWA and UCG.

John Robinson was stripped of his eldership and was sent to Texas. Everyone in LCG in Charlotte is aware of this. Meredith was going to fire him, but they kept him on the payroll after Bowmer quit.
Fasting at Teen Camp? Did affect early arrivers, just not the average camper.
Scarborough lawsuit? It was real. It was a wild longshot, and anybody who expected it to succeed was naive. That doesn't mean the reporting here was wrong. While LCG was busy saying "No Comment" there was factual information shared here.
This site is far from perfect, but remember that even at HQ people are exposed to different "spin" depending on the department they work in.
RCM likes to talk about God using the weather to "spank" the disobedient. What will we hear about Hurricane Matthew blasting the Hilton Head Feastsite? Did God put His name there just to confuse LCG? Was Jim Meredith not listening to God when he picked that site? Or will we be told that God is angry at LCG members for not being generous enough and for having doubts about the ministry?
Look, someone sits in the audience in Charlotte and time marks every time during the sermon that the minister says something that needs to be edited prior to the sermon being published on lcg.org or being sent out to congregations as a must-play. They have a team of editors that work in the media building. LCG sermons are very heavily edited. They can't go "live" and maintain the control the need to hide the fact that it's as bad as it actually is in Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Charlotte LCG members hide the ugly truth and behave like zombies pretending that all is well and the messages are "more powerful than ever".
The old worldwide would have done the same thing. Nothing went on the World Tomorrow broadcasts about three tithes and many other things Herbert knew would scare new people away immediately before he had a chance to shmooze them step by step. You had to be judged ready to handle the "strong meat" before you ever got an invite to come to services or judged ready for baptism. I remember what came over those clear channel Mexican stations back there in the early 1950s. It was very low key when it came to actual church doctrines and he could spend weeks hypnotically going over the same little piece of scripture and enlarging on it with very captivating monologue. He was good, and none of his would be imitators have the same talent or personality. Nor, do they have what was once the main media source being listened to by millions upon millions. I don't remember the last time I turned a radio on, and I frankly mostly turn on TV for the news and an occasional outstanding program like Dancing With the Stars.

I'm centraly blind so even when I get the PW it does me no good since you can't use a screen reader to the PW box that the site uses bcuz it uses flash from what I can tell
ReplyDeleteAnd LCG has been editing the recordings that where given at FoT & sent out after the feast for years (does LCG even send them anymore?).
If your sermons/messages are a secret and for members only.... you might be in a cult
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the Scarborough lawsuit, are they going to release those depositions? I'm sure they would be amusing to say the least.
ReplyDeleteKnowing first hand how the Scarborough's were treated and knowing Rod Meredith, Doug Winnail, Gerald Weston and the awful Rod McNair, I'm sure the depositions would be titillating reading to say the least.
I wonder if LCG paid the Scarborough's to keep them from releasing the depos because they are so damning?
Inquiring minds want to know!
The Scarborough’s, The Scarborough’s, The Scarborough’s!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing the Scarborough’s sued LCG time and time again in this blog and others. I would like to give a little back ground on “the Scarborough’s”. First off, Ralph & Patricia Scarborough (both deceased) are the parents of “the Scarborough’s” (WWCG 1968), they had 12 children (10 boys and 2 girls) who had children of their own which “so far” has produced a family of almost 150 “the Scarborough’s” (Parents, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren). For the record; Patrick and Elizabeth Scarborough sued LCG (2 Scarborough’s), there are around 148 other Scarborough’s that did not sue LCG. So I would like to ask, when you’re posting your gossip could you at least post accurate gossip. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sabbath! Mark Scarborough
So sorry you're not the only Scarborough in town.
DeleteI hate to be the grammar nag but it's "the Scarboroughs" without the apostrophe.

Maybe he has a better source for the LCG postings that he had for the events I'm talking about.
And by the way, I have never been associated with LCG.

Does anyone really know why Robinson was fired or why Bowmer resigned? What did Robinson say that got him the boot? Bowmer must be lost without Ames and vice versa. Bowmer was known for sterilizing all publications that came out of Charlotte and with him gone, one can already see a difference in the writing styles of RCM. So for LCG to let him resign without throwing a ton of cash his way, something major had to have happened.
ReplyDeleteRobinson was not fired.
ReplyDeleteRobinson was not fired.
ReplyDeleteRobinson was stripped of his eldership and was sent back to Texas to work remotely. He was Managing Editor but according to the last Tomorrow's World magazine is now Art Editor. Wallace Smith is now Managing Editor.
