Church of God Evangelists: "They bailed out, ran for the men’s room"

There is no room for mercy in Dave Pack's dominion for any evangelists in the Church God's which may want to join his movement in the future.

I’ve wrestled with, what if evangelists come back into the Church? Do I just receive them as evangelists? I would pray about it…Father, what do I do? These are senior men. They wake up. Do they just come back, and they’re over our ministers? And the answer is absolutely not. On the surface it almost seemed insane. They were terrible. You would be rewardingendorsingunderscoring, and validating making no proof of their ministry in this time that is in the context there, II Timothy 4, of the last days—evil men and seducers waxing worse and worse. Here’s what the evangelists did: They bailed out, ran for the men’s room; but a lot of them are going to wake up, they’re going to feel horrible, and they’re going to go on to wonderful positions. And before we got here, that’s what a lot of us did.…

  1. I partially agree with Dave on this point. Armstrongite evangelists were absolutely valueless. But then, so are Dave and his ballless ministers. All of them need retraining in new, more honest and more suitable career opportunities.

  2. None of the COG "evangelist " have any integrity. They all jumped ship to the group that would pay them the most. None of them had the balls to get a real job or preach the new covenant. It has always been about ruling over others. Heaven forbid of they ever were servants to the brethren.

    1. 10:17, this "ruling" both presently, and over cities in the Kingdom wasn't as if members actually had free will. Basically, ruling over cities in the kingdom, for them, means that your reward is that you "get to" enforce Armstrongism in your cities for all eternity! Believe I'll pass!

Fortunately, I believe something much better awaits us. It is a living law of the universe that being an effective servant is ruling. You might say that Bill Gates is an extremely effective servant!

  3. What possible job could David Pack be entrusted to do?

    By anyone?

  4. The COG as a whole does not believe in "once saved always saved", but for some strange reason will keep "once an Evangelist, always an Evangelist" , or minister etc. Thus ones provenance can follow them from org to org fairly easily, ESPCIALLY if they are bringing members along with them (aka $$$).

AC is the "unified field theory" in this regards. Once an AC grad minister, always a minister.

  5. I wouldn't take them back either. I wouldn't even let them in the door.

  6. Dave likes to dream that they are going to come on their knees to him.

If Dave comes crawling on his knees to me should I let him in the house?

I'll have to think about it. He has a lot of repenting to do. The cat gets let in first. Dave ... maybe not at all.

  7. The evangelists and ministers should all hurry back to Dave. That way they can write a warm glowing story about RCG, and how they are holding on to all truth. Plus, of course, bring many suckers, I mean brethren, with them. Then they can be treated with all the love and fairness that Mr. Dale Schurter received.
