Dave Pack on the greedy, grasping and covetous splinter group leaders and members.
It’s also a quality of God. God is longsuffering. People have really disgraced God’s name. For decades, a lot of these people, who will turn out to be wonderful, walked around with what Christ says is their private parts hanging out, spiritually speaking! They walked “naked” and disgraced Him. This great servant came in the 20th century, and when he died and we had a false leader, they ruptured into 400 groups, they were so greedy and grasping and covetous. Trust me when I tell you, because I know so many of them. They are covetous! They’ll find no problem…be falling off a log backwards to sell God’s people from these groups—who shamefully went on to split into 400 groups because they didn’t see a leader like Mr. Armstrong. Certainly, Joe Tkach wasn’t, so they picked the leader of their choosing.I don’t know if God gets embarrassed by His people. I don’t know. I don’t read in the Scriptures that God gets embarrassed; but certainly, they have trashed His name, and they’ve flung mud all over the name of Herbert W. Armstrong by falling into this terrible condition. God isn’t going to let them just waltz back in while He’s playing their favorite tune. They have to be tested, and proof that they need to be tested is that some of them are going to sell out. What if He just let them come? The sellouts would come back, and we’d have a mess on our hands.
Wow, this monkey does not see his own tail.
ReplyDeleteI have never come across (in print) anyone as covetous as David Pack. He is the only sinister that demanded that his flock send him their savings, pension funds, second mortgage funds, common funds, and more.
Not even HWA was this covetous, and Dave has the nerve to accuse others as covetous! Obviously he cannot see his own sins. I would wager that he is going to be in for a great shock when he is refused access to the Kingdom.
Pathetic.
There's Dave wearing his Pharisaic mask again. Wow, he sounds so righteous.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the autobiography of David Pack.
ReplyDeleteDave murmurs and disputes with saying: "...This great servant came in the 20th century, and when he died and we had a false leader, they ruptured into 400 groups, they were so greedy and grasping and covetous. Trust me when I tell you, because I know so many of them. They are covetous! They’ll find no problem…be falling off a log backwards to sell God’s people from these groups—who shamefully went on to split into 400 groups because they didn’t see a leader like Mr. Armstrong. Certainly, Joe Tkach wasn’t, so they picked the leader of their choosing..."
ReplyDeleteOoh, ooh, Dave again pointing the finger at others and not seeing the remaining fingers on his hand pointing back to himSELF!
Others covetous? Well, why not? James tells Dave Pack the following:
"Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" James 4:5
Assuming that scripture is not a lie, then that spirit that "lusteth to envy" dwells deep within Dave Pack. It must be so deep, b/c Dave does not see it in himSELF! He does see that "fruit" or "work" in others, though. If I didn't know better I would suspect Dave Pack of walking about naked...kind of like that story about the "Emperor without any clothes on."
Oh, and is Dave (or throw in names like: Rod Meredith, Doug Winnail, Victor Kubik, David Hulme, Jim Franks, Gerry Flurry, GWestin, James Malm, etc.) ashamed that HWA chose Joe Tkach senior and not Dave Pack, himSELF, instead? Oh, did God make another mistake by not choosing Superduper Dave? Does Dave think that if he, the great Dave Pack, were chosen by HWA that laodiceans...400 splinters would not have come into existence? Does Dave Pack want to make God out to be a liar?
Questions for Dave Pack: Do you see God as fulfilling His word in Revelation 3:14-18? Do you need eyesalve? Do you need white raiment?
So yes, Dave, all of them groups chose their own leaders! Why not? Why? If God didn't provide them with a leader, then what else could they do? And who chose you? How do you know that you are not just another one of them splinters that you keep trashing? Again, consider the fingers on your own hand!
Dave went on to say: "...They have to be tested, and proof that they need to be tested is that some of them are going to sell out. What if He just let them come? The sellouts would come back, and we’d have a mess on our hands..."
A mess? Buy some depends! Wear them if you need to!
Tested for what? How did you see that necessity for some test? Do you need that eyesalve after all?
Jesus Christ said: "The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep."
People on this blog are aware of your care for sheep. You are a hireling that fled...probably like the other 400 hirelings of scattered splinters you mentioned. Hirelings can do good things, but it seems more often than not they do evil things.
Reconsider James 4:5 above and the following where no test is required:
"To wit, that God was in Christ, RECONCILING the world unto himself, NOT IMPUTING their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:19
Dave, shall we hope you are somewhere in there as a part of the world? That is Good News!
Time will tell...

"This great servant came in the 20th century, and when he died and we had a false leader, they ruptured into 400 groups, they were so greedy and grasping and covetous."
ReplyDeleteIf you ask me Dave, HWA was pretty damn grasping and covetous!
God isn't being longsuffering.
ReplyDeleteHe's just ignoring you.
All of them, not just Dave, seem to get hung up on the idea that Joe Tkach might have been a false leader, without thinking any more deeply into the implications choosing an allegedlly false leader would have had for HWA. Little, minor things like was HWA really guided by the Spirit of God. Did that guidance stop at some point, allowing HWA to make mistakes? Or, did HWA actually have God's guidance in choosing Joe Tkach, and were the corrections what God intended for WCG? Did the Tkaches have God's guidance in implimenting the changes, or did the concept of authority they learned from HWA taint and thwart the changes?
ReplyDeleteWhat are the fruits of key people leaving and starting their new groups, each insisting that only theirs is the true one? Has this enhanced and preserved HWA's church, or was it a second and compounding error that spelled the final doom? Has the primary fruit "that ye shall love one another" become manifest in any of the groups? Do any of the splinter groups appear to be particularly blessed, standing head and shoulders above the rest? Do any of the prophecies which formed the backbone of HWA's church appear to be yet unfolding? Do any of the splinter leaders appear to have a real grasp of prophecy? Have science or history confirmed HWA's "revelation" of national identities?
I believe the answers to all of these questions that church members probably ignore and shove to the backs of their minds are self-evident. An honest person could only answer them in one way, and those answers would constitute a validation of Gamaliel's theorem for our own times.

If Pack lived in a double wide trailer, and ate cafeteria food and owned two suits and a 2002 Hyundai with 200k miles on it, then that might be a bit impressive. Otherwise, his entire "lifestyle" that he has now is from SUCKING OFF HIS FLOCK.
ReplyDelete"The sellouts would come back and we'd have a mess on our hands." Uh, Dave. It's a mess now. It's all one big stinking, rotting, destructive, 'sheep' destroying mess.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it time to get the log out of our OWN eye and stop maiming and blinding others by messing around trying to dig one little speck out of our brother's eye? For love's sake.
To push the law and only the law and create more and more niggling things to call law and push aside, doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly seems to be what all are "good" at.
He's redefined mess to suit his own needs, and he wants to reprogram all of his incomings to "common", his grooming standards, and his already failed versions of prophecy. Does he really feel that the members of the COGaWA, as an example, would accept that they are "a mess"? Could he EVER make them believe that he is an apostle or prophet? It'd probably be easier to convert them to Islam!

ReplyDeleteHWA wrote a letter asking members to borrow money from the bank under false pretenses and send it to him, that was rather covetous...
