Various Church of God splinter groups go out of their way to justify why they have so few members. No Church of God group today is losing members faster than Ron Weinland is. When he went off to prison, scores of members left. Much more left when his dingy wife Laura and his money laundering daughter Audra were made "evangelists" and began preaching. One living room church after another pulled the curtains shut.
Now, the Weinerdude prophet and Second Witless Witness, is admitting that he has less than 500 people left. Of course, those 500 are the elect, specially chosen by his god to be the standard bearers of the new millennium soon to arrive.
Today, there are over 7 billion people on earth, and although you will have difficulty believing what is about to be said, it is true, and will be explained far more thoroughly. As of right now, there are less than 500 adults with whom God is currently working through with the power of His spirit, who are servants to Him as Noah was, and who are being led, guided, and currently being instructed in His ways. The rest of the world has rejected God’s warnings, instruction, and truths that He has been revealing to the world for over 80 years now. With the earth’s current population, the equivalent ratio of those with whom God is working is 1 in every 14 million people.Servants as Noah was...that tells everything you need to know about this epic failure of a cult. Being servants of Jesus is not something his group or any COG seems capable of saying. After all, he is such an inconvenient dude!
Ron's god is a pussy. Incompetent at worse.
ReplyDeleteThe VERY reason the Armstrong cults are not growing, and dying a slow agonizing death, is thanks to the Internet we have a mountain of information that reveals the complete & total truth of these ACOG cults to save people the heartache and mental anguish from the asshole ministers.
ReplyDeleteI no longer believe in any god, but what a "loser" his god is being painted as being.

If you want to reach the world these days you need to go on the Rense Radio Network or Red Ice Radio or something of the kind. But I doubt they would let any COG on there. The COGs are dinosaurs; they think that making a web site makes them modern. Yeah, that was true about a generation ago. But you have to be on the right programs on the web. Nobody is going to the COG sites. Some of the world's 100 most influential people are on Rense.
ReplyDeleteNote to people who are unaware: this is where some anonymous poster we all know gets his anti-semitism, affinity for conspiracy theories, and distrust for the mainstream media. Rense breeds and feeds all of that. Like Armstrongism, but a slightly different Linus blanket.
DeleteOn another topic, I am just so proud of my state's senators today!

He has 500 now. What did he have at his peak?
ReplyDeleteRon should have laundered money the same way as Dave Pack. He should have built himself a church compound. And it's legal. He can cash in his chips by selling or renting out the compound, while doing a Mickey mouse work.
ReplyDeleteSuch an informative site this is! I would have expected that 500 WAS close to his high.
ReplyDeleteI never hear or read anything about COGWA. Are those guys still in the league? Anyone know anything about their membership?
ReplyDeleteRadio isn't going to do much of anything. The only time I listen to the radio is sometimes in the car and I listen to the local Cottenwood station because they have good music and the local news and weather. Most trips, I don't even listen to that. Radio had it's day, but even Herbie had to turn to television. Most people have their eyes glued to the smart phones these days, unless they're at home. Then, it's mostly the computer and television.

At this accelerated pace, Weinland and his wife will be just TWO out of SEVEN BILLION!
ReplyDeleteSo many of these pseudo teachers fall more into line with what was taught about Simon Magus. They somehow don't see that in themselves, but the similarity is both profound and undeniable.

Glenn,
ReplyDeleteCOGWA has around 7,000 members (some say 10k but I don't think it is that high). They seem to be more interested in the good old days of WCG and Armstrong than does United Church of God.
They also more strongly encourage members to spend most of their free time with other members.
This same rubbish is taught by a little organization located on the west coast. They claim that their some 400 (give or take) members, are the only ones God is working with at the moment because of a particular doctrine they teach. These organizations (and that's what they are), continue to disregard all the Biblical proof against such ridiculous claims. It is a tactic that keeps people looking to a man, instead of Jesus. It makes them feel good inside to feel as if they are more special than the thousands of others out there doing just about the same thing as they are. I would hate to be the fool to put such limits on God.
