Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders

The tribulation will start sometime within the next 10 months! Well, maybe a little later, but who's counting!

Our favorite unemployed, self-appointed zealot, and Chief Pharisee to the Church of God, James Malm, was sitting at his kitchen table today cranking out another prophecy guaranteed to fail, like all of his other previous ones.

He starts off with a lie in his very first paragraph by claiming he has a "good understanding" of prophecy. In the 80 some years of the Church of God there has not been one single man who has ever had an understanding of prophecy. No one. Zippo. Zero. Nada.
In the Bible there are three different prophecies which date the beginning of the tribulation.  A good understanding of these prophecies has now been revealed and all three of them indicate that the tribulation will begin at some point in the current biblical year, that is between now and March 15 2021.
Wait...above he says the tribulation will begin by May 15 of 2021 and below he says it will be later in the year.
The fact that three separate prophecies indicate the very same thing, along with the present situation in the Middle East and a very probably much worse second epidemic is likely next winter; are very strong indicators that the tribulation will indeed begin at some point next winter.
This should be a huge, bright red flag; that we need to be alert and vigilant to watch the unfolding of events!
Church of God members must now become zealous and prostrate themselves at the feet of the law. Forget Jesus, let's worship the law.
In wise preparation we should be doing everything possible to be zealous to seek out the truth, reject any errors and sins and to learn and live by every Word of God.
It is comforting to know that Jesus says the tripe below is useless garbage meant to deceive his followers. Those who understand what Jesus accomplished place their faith in him and not spending their days working to try and please the one who is constantly displeased with them.
Only by turning to a zealous wholehearted dedicated learning and living by every Word of God can we be accounted worthy to escape the terrible correction coming upon our brethren who are lax in these things, preferring to follow idols of men and false traditions.
Only by a zealous wholehearted dedicated learning and living by every Word of God can we be accounted worthy to stand in the resurrection to eternal life and have a part in the collective bride of Christ.
Malm breaks all of the stupid rules he is demanding all of his followers observe. He really has perfected the art of being a professional bullshit artist.

  1. Shocker! Mr. Law doesn't have a Jewish calendar on his wall! Amazingly, he makes this prophecy or forecast today, 20 Iyyar, 5780!

What we see unfolding has nothing to do with Armstrongism, or the Armstrong prophecy mold, just as Y2K before it, or 9/11 that broadsided Armstrongism earlier in the millennium. It's one virus, albeit a bad one. Make no mistake, there will be social unrest, and a Constitutional crisis, but we've seen this before. There is a slightly new cast of characters this time around, and the taxis is global.

  2. I just re-read an article written by Malcolm Gladwell titled: "Sacred and Profane: How Not to Negotiate with Believers" published in the New Yorker Magazine. This article focuses on the mistakes he FBI and BATF made in dealing with David Koresh. They did not realize that Koresh was basing his approach on belief. This I think was an original observation of James Tabor.

If one negotiates with a bank robber who is holding hostages, one can seek out that pragmatic layer beneath the idealistic and grandiose plans to hold up a big bank. And at that pragmatic level, the bank robber understands he is surrounded and is not going to get away. So he, seeing this dilemma in practical terms, is inclined to give up.

But when dealing with believers, there is no underlying pragmatic layer. It is belief all the way down. Believers will operate on belief and belief only. The authorities made no headway talking to the Branch Daidians about Koresh's personal immorality. Gladwell wrote "No one became a Branch Davidian if he required the comfort of religious orthodoxy."

The authorities tried to push Koresh and his followers into a corner where a pragmatic decision would be forced and they would all surrender. But the Branch Davidians were operating on the basis of belief and principle only. Gladwell wrote that the Branch Davidians were value-rational and "A value-rational person would accept his fourteen-year-old daughters polygamous marriage, if he was convinced that it was a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy."

After reading Gladwell's article, my guess is that these Apocalyptic Millerite leaders and "prophets" actually believe what they are fomenting. This has all kinds of ramifications - too lengthy for a blog comment. It does explain why these people can be rationally and effectively criticized and seem to be totally non-reactive.

Note 1: When Koresh was finally approached from the perspective of belief, he began to negotiate. He started writing a lengthy statement on the 7 Seals of Revelation and what they meant. He included criteria for capitulation but an unfortunate event precipitated the Waco immolation before he could finish.

Note 2: I am in no way associated with the Branch Davidians nor do I hold their theology to be in any way valid.

  3. You can tell by the picture that the coronavirus pandemic will be over by then -- no one is wearing a mask and they're not social distancing. Or maybe they don't care anymore.

  4. James Malm and his now ex-wife:

    Rebellious 1985 confusion.

    Sacred names confusion.

    Divorce confusion.

    Calendar confusion.

    Prophetic confusion.

No “good understanding” of anything, ever.

  5. NEO,
I agree. I believe these guys are simply weird believers. I think there are some that don't want their position shaken and perhaps don't believe everything the COGs teach but continue as ministers that teach mostly what they believe and try not to rock the boat as they don't want to upset the sheeply brethren.

There are those COG ministers that are corrupt of course, but generally, they have been duped into a false HWA philosophy that they hardly can think beyond. I know this to be true with some ministers I know. It's sad really...so many years teaching wrong doctrine and causing more harm than good in many instances, but who knows where the sheeple under them would have been without it; maybe with Koresh and the like. OR

More likely, being a healthier and more dynamic follower of Christ.

  6. NEO, that greatly explains so many of the comments we read here from three different groups of people: 1) Current splinter members, 2) Those in the process of leaving the splinters who are still struggling with equilibrium, and 3) Those who have gone from one guru and cluster of conspiracy theories only to embrace another. Quite predictably, we seem to be experiencing the same results as did the FBI in attempting to penetrate the mindset of the Branch Davidians.

I hope your post lights up some lightbulbs for these folks. Illumination is good!

  7. A good understanding of these prophecies has now been revealed

Just how was this understanding revealed to you? C'mon James, just say it -- "God spoke to me and...". If God really spoke to you, trumpet it to the world! What are you afraid of? Is God not able to back you up? Are you afraid people will think you're looney and stop sending you money? Was it last night's bad pizza? God Almighty? Or just your own gifted insight? Inquiring minds want to know!

Interesting point. All of churchianity teaches its members to put their interpretation of scriptures and church culture before reality. This results in a universally weak "pragmatic layer." According to a book on totalitarianism:

"The totalitarian mind has a contempt for reality. The totalitarian mind does not observe verify its impressions of reality; it dictates to reality how it should behave, it compels reality to conform to its fantasies."

The above is discernable in both religion and politics.

  11. Ooh boy.
I see many comments on this blog nowadays that exactly mirror mine from years ago when I was blasted as a "silly person".

    Congratulations regulars.

One of the points I made many times was that HWA (and armstrongites) are true believers.

Another point I was blasted for was that the fbi did not make any serious attempt to understand the davidian group. Not even after intense pleading by Tabor.

This mistake led to abuse as observed by Tim McVeigh and a reaction from fellow believers in the OK compound from where he left. I would not be surprised if BI literature would have been present on that compound seeing what these guys stood for. Of course the official narrative is that koresh was crazy and McVeigh was a sad lone wolf. We'll see who's right on "crazy or ideology and belief" when the covid death toll hits 600.000 in January.

I was labelled "dangerous" at the time.
Dangerous is a president who feeds the fascist underbelly of the USA.

Or Australian fascists who are no better as they proved by destroying a culture that had survived 20.000 years by "educating and christianizing" them more rapidly than charlemaign ever attempted on the viking and Saxon pagans.

  12. Some years ago, I was approached by mom and pop business owners who explained that they needed my services, but did not have social security numbers. They promised to pay for everything in cash. After speaking with them face to face, I felt that they were basically honest people, so I provided what they needed, and actually acted as a reference so that select others in my network would also do business with them.

As we got into the swing of things, I began to see many of the materials and newsletters that they were putting out. There were Bible-orientated booklets, research on whether income taxes were actually legal, booklets about the law and the Constitution, materials on firearms and the laws governing them, and booklets purporting to tell the truth about Ruby Ridge, Waco, and Oklahoma City. It was all well researched. Because of my own apocalyptic background, courtesy of Armstrongism, we had many discussions, and with that and the honest and ethical way in which I treated them and helped them in their business, a high level of trust was built. Once, in our discussions, I slipped and used the term "militia", and without batting an eye, they told me the correct term was "Christian patriot movement." I never shared anything about them with other clients or associates, although the people to whom I recommended them once nervously asked me if what we were doing was completely legal. As nearly as I could tell, they were well-versed in all applicable laws, and kept all of their activities within the law. Never did I witness any violent tendencies, or even loss of temper.

Finally, right prior to their moving to another state, the husband asked me if I would like to become a board member for an offshore bank they were establishing. Seems like they had vetted me over the previous several years, and trusted me to that level. I explained that although I ran a business, banking was really far outside of my field of expertise, and declined. After they moved, I did advise them over the phone and they actually did want me to fly out to do some work for them, but I had to decline that as well. I have never broken their trust, and since this is all anonymous, I am not breaking confidence now. It just somehow all seems relevant with all the recent news, and since I've had no contact with them for over twenty years, I've been wondering lately what has developed for them, and what their roles are in the current events which are unfolding around us.

  13. Hi 10:50

I cannot find my lengthy comment in which I exactly specified the money stream from American right wing sources into destabalizing European political parties.

I give you one example. If there is any interest I would specifify the organisations under scrutiny like the Billy Graham foundation and the exact amounts involved pouring into Le Pen and other right wing nationalist organisations.

    www.theartnewspaper.com/news/steve-bannon-s-nationalists-can-stay-in-medieval-monastery-for-now

btw I have tracked your contacts and we have arrested them for offshoring into accounts for payment to the upkeep of right wing websites aimed at German destabalizing groupings under scrutiny. As you probably know german intelligence is aware that most nazi sponsoring is done from the United States under the guise of "free speech."

They were just small fish as compared to the Hobby Lobby and Koch boys networks though.

  15. James Malm, started in 2010 with the argument that the conflict in Syria would be the mother of wars. At that time he announced that the great tribulation would begin in 2012 and Jesus Christ would return in May 2016. Now he established the beginning of the Great Tribulation before March 15, 2021 and Jesus Christ returning in 2024, all based on the book of Daniel. The problem is that Daniel was written a long time after the Jewish exile ... perhaps contemporary with the book of Enoch ... Jewish apocalyptic literature only ...

    It is exactly on topic.
The very reasons Bannon and 20 US organisations are under investigation in for instance Europe are the same why German intelligence kept an eye on hwa in the early seventies.
(with high profile people and politicians like Strauss exclaiming their visits to AC were the best ever)

US mingling in the internal affairs of other nations is not always overt. And certainly the Russian and Chinese interference in US is not without earlier American precedents.

That's also the way ice cream, as heard by a Northerner becomes Preparation H.

  24. A video is going viral where a German train conductor reminds everyone about the obligatory wearing of masks.

The he directs his comments to "all the conspiracy people out there" and reminds them of the fact that the German government is out to get their DNA through bodily fluids in order to clone and replace each one of them, so he starkly encourages them to wear their masks at all times.

I could see PCG people going to services suddenly reach for their bags.

    I like that.
See the people's response. "Then get off the train". Great how the German special ops conductor also was a Greek unto the Greek in behavioral influencing.

Now imagine an American elite "educator", being introduced by a government minister, yelling at Greek elites, just weeks before important decisions of joining the EEC, at the height of the Cold War, that the USA will drop nuclear bombs if nations do not start to cooperate, yelling at these orthodox people that the catholic church will usurp them in times of economic trouble.......... All in line with official US foreign policy since 1944.

Guess what...... Greece joined the EEC.

I have this piece of psy opps on video.
