Laodicean COG Leader Says Being Baptized Into His Group Is Only Assurance Of Salvation

On this Independence Day here in the United States, one COG so-called leader is claiming that true Christians (which he is not) can only be independent of the world they live in if they are members of his "church". He valiantly struggles to claim he and his little group are the ONLY true "Phialdelphain" Christians on the face of the earth today. So, if you really want to be free, you must LEAVE your COG and follow him, agree to support his work, and then after meeting all his demands for baptism, be baptized. Only then can you be saved and be independent of the world.

All of that is kind of weird considering how much he depended upon using a church of the world to prop him up as he used LCG to garner as many "proofs" of his prophethood status as he could. After manipulating people into saying and doing certain things to stroke his ego he joined the myriad of worldly Laodicean COG leaders who are enticed by money, prestige, power, and rebelled to start his own group, godless though it may be.

So open your wallets kiddo's, say you have repented of being a so-called Christian in one of the other fake Churches of God and join the ONE TRUE LEADER of the ONLY TRUE COG who will guarantee your salvation and a chance to be in Petra with him for 3 1/2 years.

My heart is filled with excitement!
If you have been appropriately baptized, then we also suggest that you read the Statement of Beliefs of the Continuing Church of God. If you agree, will live as a true Christian, and wish to be part of us, then we accept true believers who wish to support us as we lead the Final Phase of the Work by proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom of God as a witness (Matthew 24:14), teaching all that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19-20), working to reach the full number of those called in this age (see What About Romans 11:25 and the Full Number of the Gentiles), while also preparing for the ‘Short Work, remembering the poor (Galatians 2:10), and proclaiming the Ezekiel Warning.
This spiritual degenerate does not have the ability to determine what is a "true" baptism and no real Christian would ever submit to his list of requirements to be a member of the improperly named "continuing" Church of "god".

Once you agree to follow his list and agree to support him, then you will be one of the chosen people, set apart from all of the other slovenly COG's who are not being led by a doubly-blessed and dreamed over prophet.

As the world comes to an end, which COG prophet and leader would you choose to follow into the "final phase"? One who self-appointed himself or follow no man and place your confidence and assurance in the ONE you should be following instead? You don't need some self-appointed man who dreamed himself into being to be leading you anywhere.
You can contact a minister or other representative near your area to let him know you wish to be part of us. We also would expect you to live as a Christian and, among other things, keep the Sabbath, attend or watch our church services, and strive to attend the Feast of Tabernacles.
Salvation is not dependent upon keeping the sabbath or watching some lame-ass questionable "church" service of a spiritually bankrupt man flailing his arms all over the place expounding upon 66 points for an hour and a half that he could have accomplished in 10 -15 minutes.
Please understand, their is no minimum or maximum amount of time required to learn about the church. The important thing is to believe the word of God and understand the about living as a true Christian.
Nor is one even required to DO anything as the rebellious prophet claims.  Just ask the man on the cross who needed to do nothing more than belief.  Pretty simple. No long list of rules some wayward spiritual degenerate has set in place. Nothing. Nada.
Once you have turned you life over to God and learned about the church, you are ready to become part of the body of Christ. You become a member of the Church of God through being baptized by a representative of the church. Baptism is a critical and fundamental step. Baptism signifies the death of our carnal nature and our being begotten as a follower of Jesus Christ. It allows us to partake God’s plan of eternal salvation.
Baptism is NOT critical and is NOT a necessity for salvation.  Scripture proves that over and over. The ONLY so-called "requirement" is faith. Faith alone is what saves, not baptism, or following some self-appointed, self-righteous, or so-called prophet in some asinine "final push." No Sabbath-keeping, no law-keeping, no works period are required other than faith.  Justification comes through faith and never though Bob Thiel.

  • Romans 3:28: “We hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.”
  • Romans 5:1: “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God.”
  • Romans 4:5: “To the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.”
  • John 3:16: “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
  • Acts 13:38–39: “Through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed [justified] from everything from which you could not be freed [justified] by the law of Moses.”
Notice his list of requirements that he demands of his followers.
If you are not a properly baptized part of the Church of God, in order to be considered a real member of the Continuing Church of God, you must:
  1. Be called of God.
  2. Be willing to seek first the kingdom of God.
  3. Repent of your sins.
  4. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
  5. Strive to live as a loving Christian.
  6. Be persuaded that our beliefs are biblical.
  7. Contact a CCOG leader for counseling.
  8. Be properly baptized and have hands laid upon you.
  9. Support the work of Matthew 24:14, Matthew 28:19-20, and other aspects of the Philadelphian work.
  10. Continue to live as a Christian and endure to the end.
Bob Thiel does not have the ability to determine who is "called" by God. No one should ever assume that.  No COG leader has that ability. It never did with Herbert Armstrong and most certainly does NOT today.

Faith in the one to come, faith in the one who was, and faith in the one who is. Even the continual repenting of sins and beating one's self up day after day and year after year, is not a requirement for salvation or even to be a follower of Jesus. Armstrongism required this, but Jesus never did.

So, on this Independence Day, it is time for the captives of Armstrongism and those of wayward, rebellious, and self-appointed Church of God leaders, to be set free from their sick demands. These men do not speak for God.

True freedom is found OUTSIDE some man-made church run by bloviating men of no substance.

  5. Point #6 may be the key. Are CCOG "beliefs" defined as points 1-5? Or something else - like believing in messages through doubly-confirmed dreams?

  6. The Good Samaritan in Lk 10:25-37 was not even a believer. According to Jesus, he's the one who will inherit eternal life (Lk 10:25).

It's sad that some would say you have to accept Jesus in order to be saved. He himself did not mention anything about this in the Parable. The parable is about obeying the commandments - Loving God (Due 6:4-5) and neighbor (Lev 19:18b).

    Repentance is required ...

Mt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Lk 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Lk 18:13-14 But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

    Obedience to God's commandments ...

Mk 10:17-19 As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life? Why do you call me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat others, honor your father and mother.’”

  7. What he said is true. But maybe he should have worded himself differently. No one is perfect in speech mind you. Promotion of the truth should be upheld. Not the spreading of lies, such as for example, the lie that Dr. Thiel's in it for the money. I can tell you first-hand from my own experience he is not. I wouldn't be supporting him if he was. If people do proper research, you will find the truth. I believe that with absolute certainty. But many people instead will go their own way, and believe lies rather than truth sadly.

  8. Everything Bob Thiel says has been a lie so far. How can we ever trust him? Why should we? False doctrines, false ordinations, false prophethood status, and much more. God no more set him apart to be a COG leader than He did Rod Meredith.

You People that run banned here, are being given a great opportunity by God, being led by an end time Prophet of God; you are on the verge of commiting a very great sin; if Jesus were here today; he would be saying exactly as Dr Thiel; you would have ridiculed and lied about him also; Remember what the bible said about the Pharisees; you are from your father the devil, he was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth; you are so full of rage and hate, you are blinded to the truth and do your father's bidding aka Satan.

  11. I have absolutely no fear of the "god" of Bob Thiel. It cannot do anything to me for calling Bob a liar and a false prophet. I am not missing any opportunity by not following the lies of Bob. Jesus would not even acknowledge Bob as one of his followers. There is no truth that Bob has that I could ever be blinded to. That is a simple fact. Since it only took one lie from Bob to invalidate him as a prophet, according to the Bible he claims to follow and waves around as proof, there is no reason to follow a lair such as him.

Far more goes on here than meets the eye. Why would the average exWCG member from 1978 or even 1988 suddenly want to have a blog name and run entire blogs going on about Herbert and Garner ted in 2020? Doesn't add up or make sense.
Something more sly is going on.

    Q. Who really has the time, opportunity and desire to constantly blog?
    A. The Ministry of course.

    Q. Why are they doing it?
    Q. Why carn't they live honest lives?

  18. This is hilarious! I'm not a minister and never have been. You would be surprised at how little time I spend on this blog. It's not like I search for things to endlessly post here. Every day some idiot in a COG says or does something that feeds this. It only takes a few minutes to write something and to check a few times a day for comments to approve.

The best part of all of this is that I don't take this seriously. I mean, how can I when the COG is filled with so many self-appointed idiots running amuck saying and doing incredibly stupid things. Where is the 1st-century Christianity in that? If they are dumb enough to say It then I will be dumb enough to post it! LOL

Oh, and I have a job. I own my own business. And I am a lay minister in another denomination and oversee a 4-year course on the Bible, church history, and how to put their faith into action in our world today. I oversee the Los Angeles basin with hundreds of participants from Solvang to San Clemente and out to Riverside.

The only thing sly going on is that spiritually deviate leaders in various COG's are leading people astray and people keep covering up for them. Those days are gone! 7.6 million hits over the years, so there must be someone finding it interesting here.

  19. I know a guy who used to idolize Theil of the Mayan Cross back when he was the COG Writer. He would always send me "insightful" from the COG Writer. One time, the GOG Writer, and my friend, were cruelly mocking "co-called Christians" and their ridiculous "just believe" philosophy and claimed that the "just believe Christians" knew nothing about the Bible. So, I sent him these verses:

    Acts 13:39
Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.

    Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

    1 John 3:23
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

    1 John 5:5
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

    Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

    John 5:24
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

    John 6:29
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

    Romans 10:4
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

    Mark 5:36
Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

    John 6:40
For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

    John 6:47
Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.
    John 3:14-16

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
    Mark 1:15
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

    Mark 9:23
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

    John 1:7
He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.

    John 1:12
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

    John 6:35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

    John 7:38
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

    John 8:24
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”

    John 11:40
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

    John 12:44
Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me.

    John 12:46
I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

    Acts 10:43
All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

    Acts 16:31
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

    Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

    Romans 3:22
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,

Theil cannot be a Prophet from God, since he is such a Bible ignoramus.

I like what some people have expounded about certain subjects, but I get tired of hearing about the "ordained ministers"(false catholic doctrine) of all the ACOGs. I think you give them too much time and publicity. None of them will ever amount to a tinker's damn. They will gradually fade away or die, just like all their "laity"(another false catholic doctrine).

That "thief on thee Cross" was baptized. How do we know?

Human beings who become sealed as Firstfruits by God's Spirit with the laying on of hands are baptized, which pictures what? Baptism is symbolic of one's death.

That thief (actually both thieves beside Jesus Christ back then) died a literal death. Baptism is a literal thing for the thieves and they will both be resurrected in that 2nd resurrection as "new men." Their baptism will by then be past history. Did they sin? Yes, just like all of us, but wages are received at the time of death, which is the wages of sin.

We may look forward to seeing, even speaking with, those two former thieves in the future after that 2nd resurrection if one wishes to do so.

    Time will tell...

Anon, I am not sure what you intend to say as I believe that comment of: "...the Firstfruits do not come up in the second resurrection....they are raised (or changed, if they are alive at the moment) at Christ's return..."

Why? Among other things it is a matter of Shadows and Patterns!

For example, the ancient physical Israelites, firstfruits, coming out of Egypt going through the Red Sea on dry ground on the 7th day of unleavened bread is a shadow/pattern picturing the future 1st resurrection of the sealed firstfruits.

Then tribe of Levites were subsequently separated out and were considered to be firstfruits, but "the rest of the Israelites" were picturing the world (not of God), which after 40 years of wandering around in a wilderness, finally came through the Jordan River on dry ground, as a shadow/pattern of the 2nd resurrection.

    There is no 3rd resurrection.

    But, time will tell...

Your comment is spoken like a true Armstrongite!
You see one "repent" word and mandate that it must negate all the "believe" verses because that fits your legalistic mindset.

I don't need to delete word repent from that verse because it's a natural progression from "just believe".

Why are you so unrepentant that you will not believe any of the "just believe" verses?

    1. I think I see what you mean. "Just believe" isn't a negation of the change in life that progresses after a strong foundation of faith? I was thinking the list of believe verses was being presented in contrast to "way" as in anything goes as long as one believes, which would have made the Mark 1:15 reference slightly out of place. But I'm glad you said the thing about progression, which helps a lot.

  27. @John,

so you're saying that the thief was baptized by virtue of the fact that he died on the cross?

and if there is no 3rd resurrection, when do those in the 2nd resurrection, after living their lives and dying, get raised to life to receive their reward? (and those that reject the gift receive their punishment?)

What reward did you have in mind? And receive a reward for what? Is somebody earning something...besides death, which is the wages of sin?

Don't forget, but you too have sinned, and you too will pay the same wages of sin as them thieves.

The thief comes up and it will be paradise to him, b/c Jesus did not lie to him. There are no wages hanging over his head. He died, remember? He paid his wages. We've yet to pay our wages, too.

And God is not into some sort of a "double jeopardy" situation for the thieves and their sins. They will wake up as a new creation, and with a right attitude: believe it or not! God does it! Something to thank God for.

Another question for you: Isn't eternal life enough of a reward? It sure would be quite some miracle.

God, the Living God (no association to the living group), is a God of life; Satan is the god of death (Heb 2:14).

Here is God's attitude toward those thieves, as explained by the Apostle Paul and Jesus Christ, respectively:

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;..." 2 Cor 5:19

"...Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:" Matthew 25:34

I imagine you may be wondering if God can make a heart live a long time. Or, perhaps you still wonder that perhaps that second resurrection isn't sufficient enough for God to accomplish His will with them thieves. Well, here's something for consideration relative to those former thieves, who once resurrected, by the power of God's Spirit, will be among the meek. The meek? Yes, don't they inherit the earth?

"The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever." Psalm 22:26

There is no need for a 3rd resurrection. You may want to reconsider whether or not to revise some of your theories regarding God's true Plan of Salvation to save all humanity and subsequently take/destroy Satan and his angels...and have no need for any 3rd resurrection.

    And time will tell...

  29. well John, you still haven't answered the question....when do those in the second resurrection receive their reward?

they live their full lives understanding God's requirements, and are judged according to their actions during their lives. ...at some point that life comes to an end.

if their reward is eternal life (like those in the first resurrection), they must be raised back to life at some point (in their new, eternal spirit bodies).

the same applies to those who reject God's way (with full understanding of what they're doing...hence, the unforgivable sin)...they must be raised to life to receive their sentence, eternal death (ashes under the feet of the righteous)....

so, please, 'splain to me how this happens without another resurrection.

    Anon,

Isn't eternal life enough of a reward? Do you want more? If so, then what do you want?

You need to revise your theory of salvation.

For example, you wrote: "if their reward is eternal life (like those in the first resurrection), they must be raised back to life at some point (in their new, eternal spirit bodies)."

Where did you learn about "their new, eternal spirit bodies? I used to believe that at one time, too, but it's not true.

Only those in the 1st resurrection are raised as spirit beings. Not so true to those who come up in the 2nd resurrection, but God will provide them with that reward of eternal life.

For one thing, among many, spirit beings will not need to eat from them trees of life mentioned in Rev 22, but all those raised in that 2nd resurrection will do so. They will be flesh, blood and bone.

Here are additional details for those blessed in that 2nd resurrection.:

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that [were] not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 Not for your sakes do I [this], saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause [you] to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are become] fenced, [and] are inhabited.
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined [places, and] plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken [it], and I will do [it].
37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet [for] this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do [it] for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD. [{holy … : Heb. flock of holy things}]

For another example, King David will come up in that 2nd resurrection:

Ezekiel 37:24 And David my servant [shall be] king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, [even] they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David [shall be] their prince for ever.
26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Read those verses and notice children will continue to be produced...something spirit beings will not be taking part in.

Reward? It's going to be so nice to live again, and not live in the tribulation and cursings we experience today. God will work it all out, or He is a liar.

Those who will reject God's way will be those enemies who have always rejected it, and cause humans today to reject God: Satan and his angels.

You may not believe this now, but Satan and his angels will experience that second death, but that's another story. God says it; they will be converted into ashes somehow. How? I don't know. God says it; I believe it; for me that's it. That's His business.

There is no need for a theory about some 3rd resurrection, and time will tell...

No, another false thought, and that's okay for you to speculate.

I believe those words I cited from the Bible, and if others also believe them too, then fine. And for others, if not, then fine b/c time will tell.

    Delightful Sabbath to you.

  33. well, JW's believe that only the 144K will be spirit and everyone else will live as flesh humans for the rest of eternity...

God says the end of flesh is coming, no more flesh bodies...(it was never God's intention for man to live as a flesh being forever, anyway)

we will see Him as He is, for we shall be like Him....(and He is not flesh).

there is no reason to think that those who have their opportunity for salvation after the millennium will receive a lesser salvation.

yes, the first resurrection is the better resurrection, and those will have higher responsibilities than the rest, but we shall all be spirit, that much is clear from the scriptures.

anyway...as you like to say, time will tell.

(perfect understanding of prophecy is not a requirement for salvation)

  34. Anon, so those JWs got something right from the Bible, but as you wrote: "perfect understanding of prophecy is not a requirement for salvation."

You wrote: "it was never God's intention for man to live as a flesh being forever, anyway," but who told you that untruth, b/c many places in the Bible show that flesh will exist.

You apparently do not believe the words of Ezekiel 36:28 ("And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God."), a verse cited in a previous comment to you.

Nor, do you believe the words of Ezekiel 37:25-27
:25 "And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, [even] they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David [shall be] their prince for ever."
:26 "Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore."
:27 "My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

When will the following words be true? "...ye shall be my people, and I will be your God."

When will the following words be true? "...I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

At, and after, the time of the second resurrection!

When? "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God." Revelation 21:3

When Job's words are fulfilled at the 2nd resurrection: "And [though] after my skin [worms] destroy this [body], yet in my flesh shall I see God:" [{And … : or, After I shall awake, though this body be destroyed, yet out of my flesh } Job 19:26

When Isaiah's words are fulfilled at the 2nd resurrection: "Thy dead [men] shall live, [together with] my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew [is as] the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead." Isaiah 26:19

When all Israel, all flesh are resurrected again: "And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." [{from one new … : Heb. from new moon to his new moon, and from sabbath to his sabbath } Isaiah 66:23

And all flesh does mean all flesh!

Why not? A physical creation, a creation of flesh, can be "very good," especially, after God does a number of things to make it so.

So, yes, perfect understanding of prophecy is not a requirement for salvation, especially when God just does it.

In the meantime, our lives are filled with sin as we all learn to hate evil, and one day our wages for sin will be paid by our death. Are there any other wages?

You seem to be so concerned about some reward, but I ask: for what? After all, isn't death a reward, too? And it is appointed once to die! So, death makes sense, but reward for something else? Something you did, or feel proud about, or believe you deserve something somehow?

    But after death, then what?

"...but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

oh, you cited a snippet of 1 John 3:2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

But that verse has nothing to do with the 2nd resurrection; the sons of God there, in context, refers to the sealed Firstfruits (Rev 14:4), who are changed to spirit at the time the 1st resurrection is concluded.

    And time will tell...

    John
