Living Church of God has the way to peace! Who knew?
Considering its previous leader's divisive history in the Church of God and his outright rebellion against Herbert Armstrong, his heavy-handedness in Church Administration and his rebellion in starting two separate COG's after apostatizing from the Worldwide Church of God, Living Chruch of God is in no position to claim they are a pathway to peace. Imagine LCG leaders and some LCG members being rulers in the world to come? Who would want to be trained by them or live under their rule? Oh, hell no!
The Path to Peace: Many have been shocked by the recent eruption of riots and violence, anger and hatred all over the world—and many wonder what is happening in a world where many yearn for peace. However, the Apostle Paul warned, “in the last days perilous times will come,” as proud, self-centered people mistreat and attack one another (2 Timothy 3:1–5). Jesus also prophesied that wars and rumors of wars and ethnic strife would increase prior to His return (Matthew 24:3–7). Yet Jesus is coming back as the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6–7). Those who will rule with Him will show the world the way to peace and explain why human efforts could not bring peace to the world (Isaiah 59:8). The way to peace involves learning to love and live by the laws of God (Psalm 119:165), and the “work of righteousness” (keeping the commandments) is what leads to peace (Isaiah 32:17; Psalm 119:172). Brethren, we have been called to become peacemakers (Matthew 5:9; James 3:17–18). Let’s learn the way to peace, so we can fulfill our incredible calling to bring real peace to a troubled world.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail
Sounds like you agree with Stephen Flurry. He went after Dr. Meredith (not bothering to call him "Doctor") in the latest Trumpet - a pretty easy thing to do, three years after his death.
ReplyDeleteHow can ANY of the groups talk about "peace" when all of them have been engaged in CONSTANT church wars of all kinds?
ReplyDeletePeace? Interesting..
ReplyDeleteThe only things any of the COG’s are giving the members are anxiety attacks, fear and division. But u suppose you could call that ‘peace’ if your mind is twisted (or numbed) enough by the relentless rants from their ministry’s.
The Witches Claw! Typical leftist demonic crap on this blog!
ReplyDeleteIf Winnail knew the Bible better, he would have avoided writing about peace and commandment keeping - in order to keep his flock down on his abusive farm.
ReplyDeleteIf any of Winnail's followers really care enough about what God says in the Bible, they could look up the scriptures to prove that Winnail is a fake minister and what he writes is not inspired by God.
Winnail actually wrote: "The way to peace involves learning to love and live by the laws of God (Psalm 119:165), and the “work of righteousness” (keeping the commandments) is what leads to peace."
However, God contradicts Winnail in Romans 5:1-2
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God."
There's that pesky "justifieda' word Winnail has so much trouble with. Despite Winnail's vain babblings about law, it is not works, but justification that brings us to peace with God.
If Winnail knew the Bible, if he knew Jesus, he would know that man's sin separates him from God; but, only by the righteousness of Jesus can we have peace with God.
Justification is Jesus giving us his righteousness so that we counted as righteous in God's sight and thereby be saved.
Romans 5:8-10 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Faker Winnail wants his flock to believe that their own law keeping will reconcile them to God and produce peace. Winnail does not want to lead the people to the Savior; because then, they would have no need for his Old Covenant ministry.
Becoming justified of our past sins by the sacrifice of Christ does not give us the right to continue breaking God's law If we do so intentionally, there is no further sacrifice available for us per Heb 10:26.
ReplyDeleteOnce we've been justified of our past sins by the sacrifice of Christ, that does not give us the right to continue to break God's law intentially per Heb 10:26. There would be no further sacrifice available to us for those sins Murder, lying, adultery etc would not be options for us.

I agree completely and I'm glad to see you quoting scripture. However, I sense you are quoting it in a condemning GOGer manner.
The Christian is justified and saved.
Saved is saved, there is no going back to unsaved.
Hebrews 10:39
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.
1 John 5:5
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
John 5:24
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.
Christian ministers have always cherry picker the bible. So there's endless talk of peace and love but no mention of appropriate negative emotions that motivate people to confront evil. Christs assertive behavior of overturning the money changers tables and driving them out of the temple is always ignored. Members are emasculated/castrated by the endless preaching of soft emotions.
ReplyDeleteDoug Winnail, a preacher of "fear religion" and earning one's salvation by doing works of SELF, concluded with writing: "...Let’s learn the way to peace, so we can fulfill our incredible calling to bring real peace to a troubled world..."

Learn the way to peace?
What does God's Word say?
"The way of peace they know not; and [there is] no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. [{judgment: or, right }" Isaiah 59:8
With all of the years that the living group has existed why does Doug believe the people need to beat over the head about the "way of peace?"
Doug is on a crooked path, as was pointed out by Anon 4:03 PM.
Doug says people need to learn to get peace, but peace is a fruit of God's Spirit (Gal 5:22). Huh? It comes from God, not from SELF or elsewhere.
God provides faith, but one needs to receive God's Spirit. Doug does not seem to understand that, but one would then have to give God the credit for that peace. Doug can't do that.
One who has received God's Spirit will receive the fruit of peace...yes, along with love...temperance.
Why can't Doug and those he writes to not learn peace and bring peace to the world? They are on a crooked path when they cannot give God the glory, honor and praise for giving that fruit of peace. Why not?
They are driven by another spirit: "Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" James 4:5 says that.
To overcome that spirit, one needs God's Spirit to overwhelm it.
Doug apparently isn't seeing much peace among those he is writing to, or he would not have to continue to address such things, while encouraging the people, via fear religion, to keep commandments to get something, to earn something, to somehow get peace, which is a gift from God.
Doug needs a reality check, b/c he isn't perfectly keeping God's Commandments. He's got the same problems striving to keep God's law as those he is writing to, b/c all have that spirit of James 4:5 (Eph 2:2; 2 Tim 2:26, etc.) dwelling within.
When Doug discovers what is needed to overcome that spirit (James 4:5) within himself, then he will be better able to help others overcome it within them.
Until then, the way of peace is elusive, and we do the best we can with what we have.
As time will tell...
John
Yes John, Doug Winnail and the LCG are pushing a fear religion on their victims!
ReplyDeleteHe knows that peace is a Fruit of the Spirit. He knows striving to keep the commandments will produce discouragement among the people as he knows humans can't keep the law to perfection. Doug Winnail knows the Bible well enough to know that we only have peace with God by being justified by Christ's perfection. Doug Winnail knows this because his wife told him all about justification and salvation by grace. Doug Winnail does not want his church to know that because that would give the people freedom from the fear LCG needs to exert over them so that they will keep supporting LCG.
