Crackpot COG Prophet Predicting Late 2027 For Start Of Tribulation

The Great Bwana to Africa and 299 Caucasians (worldwide) is back today flouncing and bouncing in a new video trying to prove that by late 2027 the tribulation may begin and we kiss our asses goodbye. With his hands waving and his weak attempt to thrust his big thick Bible at us (thick Bibles always make prophets look more important), the present-day Elisha Bobiniah delivers his latest wild-eyed speculation about 2028 and beyond to 2031.

Between the flouncing and bouncing in his chair and the incessant hand waving, he delivers these cute little specualtions:

Is the USA prophesied to be destroyed by 2028?

Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom. There are scriptures, writings in the Talmud, early Christian teachings that support this. Also, even certain Hindu writings support it.

Here is a summary of ten items to consider: 1. If as the School of Elijah taught, that God inspired Elijah to state that the world as we have known it would last 6,000 years, to be followed by a thousand year sabbatical time, which Jewish tradition (Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin [97a]) and early Christian traditions records (e.g. Irenaeus, a hearer of Polycarp. Adversus haereses, Book V, Chapter 30:4), then we are getting close to the end of that time.

2. And if, consistent with scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, we can apply the concept that a thousand years is as a day to God (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8).

3. And if, as generally understood in the Church of God that Jesus was killed and resurrected no later than the Spring of 31 A.D. on Passover.

4. And if we can presume that the “last days” of a 7,000 year prophetic week began AFTER the middle day (day 4), then the last days prior to the “sabbatical” time, which some would refer to as the millennial Kingdom of God would last two thousand years.

5. And if when Peter referred to being in the last days (Acts 2:17-18) and since Hebrews 1:1-12 teaches that “God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”

6. Then adding 2,000 years to a period of time leads to the end of the 6,000 years no later than 2031 (and it could be earlier than that).

7. Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14; 13:5) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027.

8. Understand that the U.S.A. is prophesied to be taken over near the rise of the Beast and start of the Great Tribulation (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22).

9. Therefore, since the end of two full U.S.A. presidential terms would end in January of 2029, these prophetic understandings point to the end of the U.S.A. prior to two full presidential terms.

10. This is also consistent with certain Hindu and Roman Catholic prophetic writings as well. This video gives more details and quotes which point to the destruction of the United States of America by 2028.

Or if that was the apologetic as to why Jesus had not yet come by the time the early NT Church was dying off and meant to silence "noticers" called scoffers.

Or if that's just one of several dates speculated about since no one can be sure....

But without the Basil Wolverton illustrations...

He's down to following the line of other COGs - I remember when Dave Pack first called on the 6000-year argument. One thing that was lacking in Bob's forecast was the usual wiggle room and wiggle-words to distance him from being a date-setter.

  6. As long as I'm at it...

Your mixing together of your right wing views, as if they somehow support your view of the Bible, are further poisoning your already false conclusions about just about everything. You're not a prophet Bob. You're a right wing commentator with a religious egoic twist as to your own self image and importance above the rest of humanity. Stick to your profession, (Naturopath) which also has it's questionable what ifs and "truths".

Many if not most Naturopathic remedies and beliefs are to actual modern medicine as your alternative theology and self image as special part in it is to Princeton Theological Seminary. Woo woo vs True True.

I recently was the volunteer for a Naturopath student for his video doing muscle testing. You know..."resist with your arm....smell this...resist again. It was hilarious to me as the push to see what normal pushback is vs the push to show the students my arm was weakened by the smelling of this or that and then the recovery was contrived. When I pushed back too hard when it was supposed to prove I was weaker, he pushed my arm down ever so much harder to draw the foregone conclusions needed. I'm not stupid.

There was plenty of woo woo in massage therapy and when teaching massage, I pointed it out and cautioned students to not be taken in by every snake oil concept in massage.

For whatever personal reasons and interests, I still seem to have the need to point out the Snake Oil in theology and you qualify.

  7. I deeply understand the bad habit of thinking that "fringe" anything can make a person feel more correct .

WCG always felt more right in my naive youth because it seemed to buck mainstream religion in ways that seemed more relevant to the times I was living in and not meant for the times the Bible characters were living in. It read the Bible as if it was written yesterday to us today. Everyone else, including the highly trained were Churchianity and "So Called Christians". Seminaries were Cemeteries and Ambassador College was "The West Point of God's Work". Both untrue. But it played well to the need to feel right and special.

When something is labeled and practices as "Alternative" this or that, one needs to be cautions in my experience. It usually means someone has come up with a personal viewpoint outside of and unwilling to accept criticism and peer review to establish validity.

The placebo effect also works very well in religion as well as alternative "medicine" to those who need to believe it which is why you can't tell them anything that might give pause to their conclusions. Anecdotal evidence either in religion of alternative practices is way too often the substitute for actual facts via reproducible, consistent and obvious results.

I used to be a Snake-Oil Salesman in religion as well, so I understand how it works and why. I also did not know I was until I did. That does not make it any less snake oil however.

  11. I have asked my self why people seem to be hopelessly captivated by these prophetic fantasies. Many of us have had this experience and I think struggle yet with processing it. I recently heard a segment on NPR that I think put it into words quite well. It was an interview of a woman who was at one time an anti-vaxxer who was later convinced to have her children vaccinated by the Covid crisis. She observed the following:

    1. She began listening to spurious anti-vaxxer material and soon she found that this movement became a part of her identity.

    2. She believed, because she was an anti-vaxxer, she knew important truths that other people did not understand. She said it was like she had a secret game code to a video game that permitted her to defeat disease.

    3. Her chief source of information was the echo-chamber of the anti-vaxxer movement. She exposed herself to the same fabricated data and ideas ad nauseum.

Does that sound familiar? Ring a bell? It is interesting that the dynamics of deception are the same everywhere. I don't agree with Dennis' take on prophecy entirely. But he has the dynamics of deception right.

  12. The end of the USA is not the end of the world. At what point does the membership realize this? America will always exist in some form. Succession of the states? Most likely. We are getting there but this is not the end. The end of the USA comes if we have a nuclear exchange. Then the whole world is fucked as man will spend centuries digging out of the ruins and reforming into societies. Then the whole shit show starts over until another asshole thinks he can conquer the world.

Humans never learn and are incapable of ever changing their behavior. Its the way we are.

Doesn't Thiel believe the Bible in the least??...

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

“ The choice is to believe either Dennis...or the book of Revelation. Choose wisely.”

Dennis has a history of supplying reference material to the claims he makes. The book of Revelation was written according to many scholars and reference books about 90 C.E. An army of about 60,000 Roman soldiers had destroyed the temple about 20 years earlier. The temple, the seat of Jewish worship had been torn down and burned. We read that John had a vision and was taken to heaven where he saw strange images. A beast with 7 heads and 10 horns. It was like a leopard, with feet like the feet of a bear, and had a mouth like that of a lion. John saw a great whore riding this beast. Then Revelation goes into an account of how a great tribulation was going to bring the world to the brink of utter destruction. For 2,000 years people have felt the return of Christ was going to be soon. Every time there was a war, severe weather event or disease epidemic, people proclaimed the return of Jesus was eminent. The righteous are always those who claim to be righteous. Those who interpret these strange signs that John saw are the ones being saved. There have been countless men and women who have had these mysteries revealed to them. Yet nothing they have revealed has come to pass.

I do not believe any religious group can predict the future. Do I believe the book of Revelation? I believe it exists. Was John’s vision how he saw the Romans being punished for destroying Jerusalem? Did John see Christ retuning to free the Jewish nation from Roman domination. Is it an end time prophecy for today. Many think they know. Stay tuned.

Why would you say this, Anon 11:12AM? Practically all the ACOG splinters now agree that huge numbers of unconverted people get baptized, and as a result aren't in danger of the Lake of Fire when they apostatise. Yes, HWA liked to hold the Lake of Fire over members' heads as a threat, but if he was right then more than 95% of those baptized in WCG are headed for the Lake of Fire, and the Holy Spirit looks like it is either useless or a trickster spirit that is no help to the baptised. Either way, the whole idea of a "better resurrection" for the fortunate firstfruits goes right out the window, if baptism is mostly a ticket to the Lake of Fire in this age, but is almost universally a ticket to entering the God Family during the Millennium and White Throne Judgment.

Ever heard the term "a contract is a contract?" When people get baptized, they have entered into a contract with God, and whether they were converted or unconverted is of no consequence.
Just where in the bible does it say that people during the millennium will "almost universally" qualify for the kingdom?
HwA also claimed that people during the millennium will enter the kingdom as soon as they die. I don't see that in the bible either. This clashes with the first fruits being blessed by living and ruling with Christ for a thousand years.

Btw, the holy spirit is a helper. It doesn't take away self responsibility or freedom of choice.

This reminds me of someone in the WCG in the past who got to wondering if he had been truly converted when he was baptized -- and hoping that he had not been.

In the past, everyone was supposedly truly converted. Now, supposedly almost nobody was truly converted. Now, as in the past, everybody just makes up whatever suits them best.

  25. 2031 is an obvious date because it is 2000 years after the start of the Christian Church.
    However:
    1) Jesus in the gospels says noone but the Father knows the date
    2) the early writings all assumed the return would come in their lifetime.
    3) Acts has Peter quoting Joel that in the last days Acts 2 v 17 Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Other than Bob, Flurry, Pack, and Weinland we don't see any COG people seeing visions and having dreams.

  33. Blind, self-exalted, false prophet Bob Thiel, by another spirit, not only believes and preaches another false gospel, another Jesus, another millennium aka Mickey Mouse Millennium with another Jesus soon to return and reign on planet earth for 1,000 years with former WCG "little helper" hirelings et al, but he makes mention of "the great tribulation," a phrase nowhere found in the Bible (unless one looks into the Greek words of Revelation 7:14 where the definite article "the" should be inserted) said/wrote the following:
    ******
"...7. Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14Open in Logos Bible Software (if available); 13:5Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027..."
    ******
Thiel's idea of "the Great Tribulation" coming immediately prior to his Mickey Mouse Tribulation, although so many still believe that some coming tribulation is the greatest ever. That is easy to say when one turns a blind eye to the mess the earth is in immediately after Satan is loosed from that bottomless pit. Doesn't Bob Thiel read his Bible? Or, just use that self-exalted blind eye of his?

Here are 2 "great tribulation" verses from AKJV, which don't show the word "the" (Greek is "ek") before the word "great:"

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

But a Frank Nelte in an August 1995 article titled: "THE GREAT TRIBULATION" AND "THE GREAT MULTITUDE" explained that the definite article "the" belongs in Rev 7 (& not Matt 24):
    ******
"...kai eirêka autô kurie su oidas kai eipen moi outoi eisin oi erchomenoi ek tês thlipseôs tês megalês kai eplunan tas stolas autôn kai eleukanan stolas autôn en tô haimati tou arniou (Revelation 7:14)

The expression here is "ek tês thlipseôs tês megalês". This is the genitive case, required by the preposition "ek". Notice something though.

THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE THE DEFINITE ARTICLE IS USED WITH THIS PHRASE!..."
    ******
What is another bottom line from Frank's article?
    ******
Frank knows Rev 7:14 applies to all who come up in the 2nd resurrection, and those people:
"...have all lived before! They lived when Satan was the god of this world. They lived during the time when the earth was cursed (Genesis 3:17-19; 4:12). They lived during the time when man's mind was only "evil from his youth" (Genesis 6:5; 8:21). They lived when mankind did not really know the way of peace (Romans 3:17), when destruction and misery was the normal way of life (Romans 3:16). They had lived in slavery to Satan through the fear of death "all their lifetime" (Hebrews 2:15)..."
And in other words: "...So while there have been many periods of "great tribulation" throughout human history, and while the one coming soon will be worse than all the previous ones, as far as God is concerned, the entire 6000 year period of Satan's rule over this Earth (INCLUDING the coming 'Great Tribulation'!) is worthy of THE NAME "THE GREAT TRIBULATION"!..."
Is "the Great Tribulation" just mankind's life under Satan's reign?

    Time will tell...

    John
