Living Church of God: Once Again Its About Sex

It's been a few weeksdays, hours since anyone at Living Church of God talked about sex, and to make up for that deficiency, Doug Winnail is languishing over sexual perversions.

Sobering Signs of the Times:

The Old Testament contains numerous accounts of events that were recorded for our admonition today (1 Corinthians 10:1–11). Jesus foretold the last days would be like “the days of Noah” when the earth was filled with violence, wickedness, and human beings had totally corrupted themselves (Genesis 6:5–13). God destroyed this evil society with a great flood, but He preserved righteous Noah and his family. About 400 years later, God sent two angels to warn Lot and his family that Sodom and Gomorrah would be destroyed for the wickedness that permeated these prosperous cities. Sexual perversions were among the reasons given in the Bible for their destruction (Genesis 18:20; 19:4–7; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10)—but there were also other sins (Ezekiel 16:49–50). Yet, in spite of the warning, Lot and his family were reluctant to leave the luxuries of their cities, and this cost his wife her life (Genesis 19:26). Today, our world is going the way of Sodom again—promoting homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and other behaviors that the Bible condemns. This is why the Apostle Paul urged Christians to “come out” of this world and its perverted ways (2 Corinthians 6:17–18)—because God’s judgment on our modern sinful societies is coming! We need to wake up and recognize the prophetic significance of what is happening around us—and earnestly pray “Thy Kingdom come.”

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Douglas S. Winnail

This reminded me how when Rod Meredith, Winnail, and others made their decision to leave the luxuries of the Worldwide Church of God, they kept turning back at what they had and made sure that they had the same luxuries to move over into. These guys were also reluctant to leave on their own and make a bold stand for something they thought they believed in, regardless of a continuance of a salary or not. Plus, given the rampant sexual immorality that pervades/pervaded the Charlotte HQ of LCG, I do not think they are in any position to be criticizing others. I am not even going to get into the stories of the Meredith boys and others at LCG HQ and their escapades.

Some day the COG will learn to clean their own unholy sepulchers before they condemn others.

  2. Yes, Doug, it shall be like the days of Noah. A corrupted man will even remarry a woman who left him, who married another man and then divorced him, and then returned to her ex-husband as an unbeliever asking to remarry, violation God's plain statute in Deuteronomy 24:1-4. God expects us to shun the evildoers who reason around His plain commands and who justify their sinfulness even while they condemn others as sinners.

  3. LCG has a difficult problem to solve.

Doug says LCG members should have respect for God's statutes and live by them. Unfortunately for Doug, those who follow his admonition will recognize that Doug is one of LCG's most prominent statute-breakers.

All I can conclude is that Doug's real audience consists of people who want to think of themselves as righteous statute-keepers, but who don't actually know God's statutes because they don't actually read the Bible. People who will do things "because the minister said so" without being Berean and confirming Doug's words in scripture.

  4. I will take sermons talking about any kind of SEX ,over some boring long winded endless diatribe sermon anytime. One may not always agree, but at least the topic holds interest! LOL!

  5. The reasoning goes something like this: "Everyone knows that gay folks really get under God's skin and make Him want to destroy people/things. Hence, instead of focusing on one's own sins or things that entail collective responsibility, everyone can rally around bashing the perverts and blaming them for all of our problems and/or God's wrath!" ACOG ministers have always regarded gay folks as an attractive target - they believe that they have a high probability of engendering a positive reaction from religious folks (esp. church members) for such attacks.

  6. Why do you keep quoting Doug Winnail's feel good weekly comments?
This where the real LCG action is:
    https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/

At least 2 bad news items posted every week in the NEWS AND PROPHECY section.
Along with other articles designed to scare the readers into joining the church to protect themselves from God's wrath.
Apparently God really has it in for us.
Gospel means good news, but the money is in bad news.

OK, let's look at one article on that page: Will You Be An Essential Worker?

What a bunch of arrogant crap! LCG says you are an "essential worker" if you work for LCG! God, by contrast, says He could raise up stones to do his work if He wanted to. The Biblical truth is that God is doing Christians a favor by letting us participate in His work. How arrogant of LCG ministers to teach that God needs them as essential workers, as if God couldn't accomplish His work without them! Clearly, Doug Winnail is not the only LCG minister who doesn't read the Bible!

  8. @11:02 AM, it's definitely a tone-deaf article, considering how many unemployed and laid-off workers may read it and feel personally attacked, even if that wasn't the writer's intention. I would call the article stupid, though, more than arrogant. LCG publishes a lot of stupid stuff that never would have passed muster in WCG. It doesn't look to me like the writer gave any thought to his readers and what they are going through during the pandemic. Like most ministers, it's all about him, and justifying himself, and making himself look like an essential worker rather than a humble servant grateful to God.

On the other hand, maybe I should be grateful that it isn't an article about sex.

  9. Both, Winnail and Weston have been repeating Deut. 17:12 in sermons and sending them out as must plays. Repeating death threats is a sure sign they have lost a large number of tithe payers to Monson. Winnails use of the verse was directed to the children in the church. LCG is beside themselves because Monson and Fritts ran the camps for 8 years and are siphoning off their future tithe payers. Winnail did start telling the kids about how these divisions have happened in the church before and talked about those good ole days. I just hope it inspired kids to run to the internet after services to do more church history research on their own. I also hope they are smart enough to pick up on these death threats and question very seriously if they should stay in such a dangerous environment.

  10. LCG has an article out called "Will You Be An Essential Worker?"??

Then why are they obeying the government's orders to muzzle God's people in the church? And why are they cancelling services when they have an essential work to do in the church? And why are they calling Sabbath and Feast attendance non-essential activities? And why are they ordering us to keep a distance apart if we are supposed to be essential workers? What? It's not essential to sing out loud, touch, stand near one another, attend a service, etc? The kiss of holiness (1 Pet 5:14) and the handshake of fellowship (Gal 2:9) aren't important?

And why is Winnail decrying about homosexuality when he remarried his original wife who is unconverted? (Can someone confirm that or is Winnail not going to talk to "the little people" about it after making his choice?)

You don't want to take the risk of muzzling the work of the gospel with your sins, do you?

A church divided against itself cannot stand (Mt 12:25)

  11. I have inside knowledge of Dougie getting spanky with himself when he was between marriages.
Hence, Doug writes condescending crap like this to assuage his guilt.

  13. Spank to the right, spank to the left.
Winnail was definitely dancing the solo Dougie before he conned the ex back for a second round.

  14. Speaking of LCG... COGA moved ahead with a successful, full-blown winter family weekend, while fearful LCG cowered at home with their masks on. Or should I say "coward" at home.
