With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.

The Reason Bob Thiel, Dave Pack and Gerald Flurry Are The Way They Are
You are missing the simplest explanation - they are insane.
insanity. ( ɪnˈsænɪtɪ) n, pl -ties. 1. (Psychology) relatively permanent disorder of the mind; state or condition of being insane. 2. (Law) law a defect of reason as a result of mental illness, such that a defendant does not know what he or she is doing or that it is wrong. 3. utter folly; stupidity.
David C Pack for sure. He is what she defines here. He has his suck ass ministers tell people to not bring kids to “church” if they make too much noise. He won’t smile when he meets someone. He frowns actually. Such a cold hearted prick.
Okay. I got the message that Thiel, Pack, Flurry, and all the others are false prophets and charlatans who came out of Armstrong's minister mill, So, now that you have warned me a thousand times, over and over again, where do you go from here, or are you just here for feeding the disgruntled and hurt people who gave their lives and money to the COGs? What about articles that don't mention these thieves and liars anymore but focus on real Christianity(IF you really believe in that). Or, is this just a sounding board for those who have given up on Christianity and God altogether? Are there not more interesting, and maybe even thought-provoking subjects to discuss, or do we just have to continue to beat this dead horse?
I can relate to your comment 7:27 but think you fundamentally miss the point of the blog.
Let me radically simplify the process from a religious standpoint. Coming out of these groups involves two processes, disproving the error and rebuilding belief. One is inherently destructive, the other is constructive. What Banned does really well is helping you with the first part (something that is still desperately needed, as evidenced by members still coming out of the splinters) and exposing you to a variety of paths for the constructive part. However the majority of that work falls to you. Whether you want to become an atheist or Christan, post-Armstrongism, it will take a lot more work and is outside the scope of this blog. In effect, that's on you.
I will be eternally grateful for the commenters on here who helped me demolish Armstrongism arguments and showed me a path out. That said, its not their place to take me any farther, that's for me to decide. I believe most of them know that.
To help others, I don't mind throwing in my two cents.
Back in High School we used to describe teachers or coaches that were of this characteristic as "So Uptight, That You Couldn't Pull A Pin Out Of Their Ass With A Pair Of Pliers!!"
Well, disgruntled 7:27, why don't you post something positive and constructive to help people leave the cult? Since we are all supposedly stuck we are awaiting your amazing revelations! Please share with us.

ReplyDeleteYou want revelations, Mr. 10:48?
ReplyDeleteHow about "I will even pound (natash) you for your sins, saith the Lord..." (Jer 23:33)
This is directed not just to you but to all the people, prophets and priests who keep breaking His commandments.

ReplyDeleteOh, how profound. God punishes people for their sins. We've never heard that before. Any other great insights?
