David C. Pack's BAIT & SWITCH Scam
From a reader:
David C. Pack's BAIT & SWITCH Scam
At the start of his Restored Church of Greed (RCG) cult, David Pack talked about “precision of doctrine” and about holding on faithfully to everything that Herbert W. Armstrong had taught at the time of HWA's death in January 1986. That is how Dave Pack suckered in some former Worldwide Church of God people.
After gaining their confidence, like con-artists do, Dave Pack started to introduce many new, strange, massive, doctrinal changes that were supposedly supported by some sort of “logic” (that was not very logical) and by hundreds of supposed “proofs” (that did not prove anything). Loud, overwhelming, sleep-depriving, non-stop noise (with spittle) coming from Dave Pack's continually flapping mouth totally bamboozled his followers.
It now seems strange that some people still listen to Dave Pack after all the lies and nonsense and thefts and self-promotion and wrong date guesses and even more thefts that he came up with over the past seven years. But, perhaps it is not really about seeking the truth of God after all. Nor is it really about holding on faithfully to what HWA had taught. Apparently, it is about something else.
Current RCG members might like to be handled delicately by outsiders (though not by Dave) and be considered to be sincere and decent people who mean well. However, the fact is that there is something seriously wrong with their minds and their behavior. They are now the accomplices and enablers of one of the worst raging false prophets (#2 after Gerald Flurry) that Satan ever sent against former WCG people.

There was a time, now passed, where I cut the average member of RCG some slack on the hope that their desire to be in a WCG type church, as they were before the Tkaches tore it out from under everyone in reckless stupidity, was understandable. Flurry seemed a poor choice from the start. While I personally know Dave and my understanding of his self absorption, competition and "winning at all costs" goes back to days in the ministry, the average member of RCG would have to see that unfold. That time of unfolding is over. It has been for at least the last five years but slack always offers hope of change or getting on with other things without destroying the church. I went through the "give WCG some slack" with the hope of all the scandals and personality BS would mature and whatever normal could be, it would show itself. Well, we know how that went.
Dave Pack is already history. It only remains to be see how it all collapses and which drug rehab center or Church moves into his buildings.
In my experience, the First Generation founds it. The Second Generation maintains it. And the Third Generation sells, loses or destroys it.
We see this with WCG. HWA/Tkach Sr/Tkach Jr. We are seeing it with Flurry. HWA/Flurry Sr and Flurry Jr yet to come. With Dave, because he has alienated his own family, it will be HWA/Dave Pack/The end.
Dave will be able to say "I don't think I have seen a Church disappear quite like the one I started did...." This will at least satisfy his "bigger, best and the most" tendencies.
Dave and similar probably learnt bait and switch from Herb. Herbs writings to outsiders was always "don't believe me, check with your bible." On becoming a member, it changed to "forget the bible, just believe me."
Well do I remember Dave's “precision of doctrine” mantra, as he create his "restored" image of the WCG. Considering how he took it "off the track", it may have been better if he had made his goal "stability of doctrine".
Dave must know that God will not allow him into His kingdom. In such losing situations, the human tendency is to drag down others with them. Dave is spiritually a very dangerous man.
Esau, Moses, Elijah, Elisha, and others were based on earlier pagan sun gods. The bible is a pagan book. Those rabbis sure knew how to rewrite history.
Bait and switch tactics are used by apostates too.

ReplyDeleteThe RCG Tragedy:
Want to learn the truth of God. End up getting a Pack-of-lies.
Want to be wise and good. End up being stupid and evil.
Want to be courageous. End up being cowardly.
Want to serve God in some big way. End up serving Satan in a big way.
Want to save your life. End up losing everything you own plus your life.
Want to believe in God. End up losing your religion.
This is what is called a great TRAGEDY.
Don’t forgot ‘End up losing your loved ones’
