Astro-mercial Addendum: He came on the Clouds with healing in His Rays!

Yesterday, (November 17th),  morning, before work, I attended The Willamette Riverfront Sunrise Church of God.  The Homily was taken from  Malachi 4:2 2But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays.

I waited and waited wondering where the Sun was and when it would rise and then it dawned on me!

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.

So beautiful!  The Sun of God arrived with calming healing in its wings/rays and

Walked right across the water to the very spot on the beach I was stood to tell me He loved me!

  1. Dennis, did you do a little Celtic jig as you proceeded to your place of worship?

  2. Dennis,

Do you think Malachi 4:2 is literal or is it metaphoric?

Looks like the Willamette Riverfront Sunrise Church of God had a beautiful sunrise service.

    i. In many passages God is related to a planet or star (Psalm 84:11, Isaiah 60:19, Revelation 22:16, Numbers 24:17). Here, the Messiah is not only a Sun, but also the Sun of Righteousness who brings healing. The church has no choice but to assume Jesus in the rather Egyptian metaphor of Isis the Mother Goddess it seems

Hardly, Dennis. You are heading into the occult area now. The Bible has no connection with your misuse of heavenly analogy. You might note that Herbert Shelton of health fame, and an atheist, quit associating with Clements, mentioned below, when he started teaching what you just wrote about.

Deu 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
    Deu 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
2Ki 23:5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

It is one thing to use the sun, moon, and stars, etc. as an example to teach the human mind, but quite another to put them in the place of the Father and/or the Son Dennis.

I’m afraid you have fallen for another bright looking being.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

You must spend too much time reading the likes of Clements, Hotema, and others who preach the return to the “perfect man” then, to the “perfect god.” Much of their writings are about what you just wrote.
I would suggest you spend more time with the reality than with occult teachings trying to misuse the Messiah to make their teachings look better and superior.

You'll need to take that up with the author of Revelation.

Revelation 22:16 16"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

= "I am the Sun" says Revelation Jesus of himself

  11. 240 Asto-theology has nothing to do with worshipping the stars, planets or anything in the heavens. It is a very ancient way of telling a story of the journey of the Sun through the twelve months and four seasons of the year. The Bible is full of astro theological symbolism and observations whether one likes it or not.

I think that sums up modern Judaism well.
Two great books by Israeli writer Dr Eitan Barr,
Refuting Rabbinic objections to Christianity and The Oral Law Debunked,Debunking the Myth of Rabbinic Oral Law are fascinating reading and shine a light on the occult which infects Judaism today and also it’s impact on Christianity.
Both in English and Hebrew with many sources quoted in Hebrew which may be a problem for some.
However solid reading. Eitan Barr is a ‘believer’ and in no way denies Jesus divinity or the scripture.
The ministry he serves is Israeli birthed and puts to rest the cog claim to be ‘preaching the Gospel’ to ‘Israel’.
Eat your heart out Bob Thiel and Jerry whatshisname, lol.

  13. Dennis,
Biblical writers have written many times about the story in the heavens illustrating the Bible characters and events. However, they only prove the Bible. They do not minimize it as it seems your a-theistic bent implies.
The claimed to be oldest book in the Bible Job, mentions these heavenly signs. And, throughout the rest of the Bible they are mentioned, including that the Creator numbered and named them, and also gives their meanings. That does not mean the Bible condones “astrology” which is used in fortune telling, which it condemns.

There are several good books showing how the heavens tell the Bible story as it was meant to be, not your slant to belittle the Bible. Why a-theists think something like your post will destroy the book, and get rid of Bible Believers, if that is your intent, there is good news! The book ain’t goin’ away anytime soon.

A good starting place for you, after a 25 year ministry, is to reread The Witness of the Stars, by E. W. Bullinger, DD.

Here’s just one example to remind you of the wellness message the Bible has for all mankind.

    Page 30. Virgo.

“The name of this sign in Hebrew is Bethulah, which means a virgin, and in Arabic a branch. The two words are connected, as in Latin — Virgo, which means a virgin; and virga, which means a branch (Vulg. Isa. xi, I). Another name is Sunbul, Arabic, an ear of corn.

In Gen. iii. 15 she is presented as a woman; but in later prophecies her nationality is defined as being of the stock of Israel, the seed of Abraham, the line of David; and, further, she is to be a virgin….”

This book is 204 pages. Other books are easy to find, assuming one wants the full story, and wants to uphold the Bible.

The Bible itself is a mirror of one’s inner man. Just read one of your favorite passages quoted by your local a-theist, you know, one of the horrible ones. Then feel your inner reaction to it. That will tell you what kind of mindset you really have. Being the book that was written a special way to bring out and teach what good and evil are, then one can see why the a-theist mindset tries to turn the evil part into the Creator’s character instead of looking at their own mindset that they aren’t evil. Jer. 17:9 they don’t want to hear. Only “God” is evil, not Hitler, Mao, Poll Pot, Stalin, etc.

The Bible leaves room deliberately for the a-theist mindset to misjudge the evil part. As in offering a daughter as a sacrifice, when it turns out she was still living in what we might call a convent today. So much for a-theist theology.

And, there is much more critics don’t want to know, or hear.

It’s a wonderful day today, ENJOY.
