With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.

Dave Pack: If Christ Is returning on Pentecost (June 5) why do I still need to give money?
From an RCG source:
Announcements: Pentecost
The Feast of Pentecost (Sunday, June 5) is just over a week away!
As a reminder, an offering will be taken up on this Holy Day.
In advance of this time, God’s people should reflect on (WHY AM I GOING TO GIVE $$ IF CHRIST APPEARS ON THAT DAY?!!!) how He has blessed them throughout the year and devote sufficient time preparing these crucial offerings for God’s Work.
Gimme Gimme Gimme……it’s a rich man’s world, so sang Abba.
Should be the theme song for Armstrongism.
Here in NZ we have well heeled ‘ministers and Apostles’ preaching tithing to their flocks while running around in Bentleys BMWs etc and living the ‘high life’. What a contrast to the Gospel and life of Jesus Christ.
In my early WCG coworker years, my mother would ask, "If the end is so soon, why are they building all these buildings (and need so much money)?" About the only thing I could come up with was "In case they're wrong (about when)." This was pre-1972, and, of course, they were wrong.
If the apostle Pack says the return is Sunday, why o why do we need to give money to DCP? What could he possibly do with those funds? (Other than buy tulips and feed the horses).
I have never understood what the ACOGs mean by "sufficient time preparing your offering".
It takes the same amount of time to decide to give $1 that it takes to decide to give $1,000. So, what is the "sufficient time" they're asking for? If writing a check takes longer than pulling cash out of your wallet, is that better because you spent more time on it? It doesn't make sense.
The question that seems unanswered is whether there is a clear theological pathway to this kind of kerygma. All I know about this denomination and its preacher is not direct but secondary. So, what I am going to say is with that background.
Jesus responded in Acts 1 as follows: "So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?” He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.
What is the exegetical analysis that concludes that Jesus no longer means what he said back in the First Century? Does anyone regard any of the other statements of Jesus to have vanished from rational consideration? I find this puzzling. What is the rational basis for partaking of the fruit of this ideological tree?
Jesus statement in Acts 1 is more than a speed bump on the theological pathway. It is a solid and impenetrable wall. In this context, it is the Elephant in the Room. Unless this wall is exegetically breached, nothing that this denomination is doing in announcing the Parousia makes sense to me because of its incompleteness. What this denomination offers kerygmatically is a message half-preached - a message lacking its necessary predicate.
In the days Aimee Semple MacPherson and big tent meetings, when the plate was passed the preacher would cry, "I want to hear the rustle, not the tinkle!" - I want big bills, not small coins.
I recall how in the old WWCG, members would often say "but have you discussed this with the minister." The idea of outgrowing childhood and becoming an independent adult was foreign to them. So here we are decades later, and many are still clinging to their daddy minister. This default is what has enabled Dave and other splinter leaders to rob blind and oppress their members.
"Sufficient time" is the amount of time it takes to cash in your retirement, mortgage or sell your home and or business, sell cars, etc., in order to have the money to be able to give to Dave by June 5.
Sweetblood 777 declares, "Its time that DCP meet his maker."
Careful there, Sweetblood. This sounds a lot like what Henry II said in reference to Thomas a Beckett. Somebody took it as a call to action, and soon Beckett was no more.
What a shame it would be if one of Pack's many ruined followers happened to take your comment the same way: an instruction, a subtle suggestion, or even merely a statement of permission. If they acted on it accordingly, it's doubtful PCG could ever survive such a blow. And of course, if God's own end-time apostle and his organization should disappear from the earth before Christ gets back, the whole plan of salvation as promised by Apostle Davy Seapak would collapse, alas.
All of us scoffers would bear the blame for thwarting God's will--a burden almost too heavy for a mortal soul. But I would make a heroic effort to bear up under it.
Tulip Tom asks: What do we do now that we have exhausted all our assets and resources. Can me and my family collect from the third tithe fund since we have nothing left and I cannot work? Awaiting a response from his highness.
Oops, I mixed up my "P" key and my "R" key. It should be RCG whose survival would be doubtful.
PCG is safe. I has a spare leader, in case the elder Flurry should get offed, alas. Also they've got a prayer rock, a petrified avatar of the Apostle Peter to anchor the Philadelphians solidly to the earth, where their Truth is buried. I mean, it's buried on the other side of the Atlantic from the Prayer Rock and all, but still.
I think the people Dave hangs around with need to force him to read over and over and over again Matthew 26:34. Until then. Until Dave acknowledges that only the Father in heaven knows the day or the hour of Christ's return then God's tithes need to go elsewhere.
To Anon @11:30 (TC). OK, I get it now. God is asking us to pay rent, right? That makes perfect cents. Can I just get the scripture references? Is it in 1 Bejamins 1:1 or 2 Theftalonians?
Some of the posters here really don't understand Dave Pack. They think that "Only God can know" is an argument that would short-circuit Dave. The truth, unfortunately, is that Dave might well agree with you that only God can know some particular detail... but he would then use that agreement to draw a conclusion that you would find blasphemous.
Yep. And then, there's that. Two priorities for RCG members: Jesus returning every day, and keep those $$$ coming in!

God's Great End-Time Work NEEDS tithes and offerings. If you don't send tithes and offerings don't expect a financial blessing.

ReplyDeleteWhat work? You mean robbing people while you pretend to represent Christ? Its time that DCP meet his maker.

Correct, except keep those $$$ coming in is the first priority.
Insensitive bastards, horses need to eat too.

ReplyDeleteTC @ 11:20. Why has Pack not disfellowshipped you for spending more time here on Banned than you do listening to Pack's utter nonsense?
ReplyDeleteReligious demands for money is no better than the selling of INDULGENCES that were done by the Catholic church, and spoken against by Martin Luther.

ReplyDeleteYou need to read the RCG'S and the WCG'S literature on the subject with an open Bible and an open mind.
