Are You Growing In Brotherly Kindness and Love Like The Ministry In LCG Is?

Doug is back extolling the faithful to be growing their spiritual journey, which isn't a bad thing, but no matter how hard these people try, they will never measure up to the expectations that LCG places upon their members. The list has now grown so long and complicated over the decades that many just give up.

Plan to Grow: The Scriptures reveal we are to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18), and to receive rewards in the Kingdom, we must all be “overcomers” (Revelation 2–3). But growing and overcoming requires a plan and persistence. In Matthew 5, 6, and 7, Jesus lists qualities He desires in His disciples: humility, compassion, mercy, a desire to learn God’s way, and the ability to be a peacemaker. Paul lists the spiritual fruits that God wants to see in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–25). Peter lists virtue, knowledge, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love—unselfish, outgoing concern (2 Peter 1:5–7). Put these lists together and then focus on one item each week so you can work to develop these important qualities. Plan to grow and make the effort to be a real overcomer!

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Douglas S. Winnail

  1. Jesus completed the work making it possible for us to live it out. We have a new nature and move in grace while being transformed. We develope a close relationship with Jesus and talk to Him off and on all day. He loves us and helps us & daily to work out our salvation loving people like He loves us, recognizing His still small voice.

  2. Ah, the irony- in the same bulletin they cut off the feast to any "brothers" and then proceed to teach people about loving their brothers..

    1. Can you elaborate? I don’t see anything like that in the announcement, outside of some sites that are full.

  4. So which of the many things on the honey-do list are you working on this week, Doug? Which one did you work on/overcome last week?

Might I suggest one more thing you should add to your list, Doug? Perhaps a good theological deep dive into Scripture could help. Plucking verses, out of their context, is why you are in a theological mess in the first place. Teaching members to learn about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, requires discernment of Scripture, which only comes through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Quote mining mixed in between sentences teaches them nothing. A lesson I fear you and the COGs have learned too well. It is a huge disservice, both to Almighty God and your salary paying members.

  5. "and love - unselfish out going concern (2Peter 5-7)".

In the chemistry periodic table, the first 94 elements naturally occur in nature, but the remaining 24 only exist in laboratory test tubes. Likewise "outgoing concern" does not exist in nature but is synthesized using the magic of repetition. To an out sider it will appear reasonable, but to anyone who has experienced being mind raped through its repetition, it's something way different. Its effect is an exaggerated emotion that's to be applied promiscuously without regard to cause and effect. It's simply the game of the unjust steward applied to emotions. In the "real world" all emotional currency has to be earned. Try not respecting a ministers role and see what happens. One rule for me and another for thee. And not forgetting, the bible forbids adding to God's word, so the "love - (plus extra meaning)" is immoral. Not that it has ever stopped the ACOGs from doing so. Quoting a scripture, then immediately throwing in extra words, is the church norm. Dave Pack does this frequently. But it's all OK since HWA did it all the time, and Herb is their hero rather than God.

  6. DWFriday, May 5, 2023 at 4:15:00 PM PDT asked Doug: ".. So which of the many things on the honey-do list are you working on this week, Doug? Which one did you work on/overcome last week?..."

How many more years must we wait for Doug's Jesus to return to earth and begin his reign with Doug etc al on Earth for 1,000 years? Is Jesus waiting for Doug to perform and get all of his overcoming up to speed to qualify for his rewards?
If the Apostle Paul were alive today he might say the following to Doug and all hirelings of the former WCG organization:
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
When will Doug be appropriately transformed as a qualified overcomer like he wants everyone else to be transformed...in his image?

    Time will tell...

    John

  7. Dougie wouldn't know brotherly kindness if it was right in front of his face. This guy actually loves all his secular books rather than the Bible. For instance he lives in the past, looking for wisdom from books on Robert E. Lee instead of seeking from the wisdom from above. Go play with you Gi-Joes Doug.
