That great sage of the Living Church of God writes:
The Need for Wisdom: Solomon wrote that gaining wisdom is one of the most important goals in life (Proverbs 4:7), and he wrote the book to help others gain wisdom (Proverbs 1:1–6). Solomon also reveals that the key to gaining wisdom is developing a proper fear of God and having a sincere desire to follow God’s instructions (Proverbs 1:7; 9:10). Wisdom helps us discern between right and wrong, and it leads to happiness and long life (Proverbs 2:10–11; 3:13–16). As Jesus grew up, He “increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52) because He obviously followed the advice in Proverbs 2:1–6 to seek after wisdom and follow the Commandments of God. The Apostle James urges us to ask God for wisdom (James 1:5), and the Apostle Paul admonishes us to study the Scriptures “which are able to make you wise” (2 Timothy 3:14–17). Do a word study of “wise” and “wisdom” to gain a better understanding of this vital subject. As you grow in wisdom, you will be developing one of the attributes of God and Jesus Christ (Job 9:4; Romans 16:27).
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail
I did a study on wisdom, and I am glad I did. I learned not to be hoodwinked by religious cults. Herb was a con artist and the acogs followed in his steps. Follow the money. That is their bottom line. Repeat the same message over and over. Beat the sheep down. Tell them they have to submit to he overlords and be sure to pay pay and pay.
ReplyDelete“LCG Says You Need More Wisdom”
ReplyDeleteYou just need to be smart enough not to trust LCG and not to send it your money.
Indicating that this note endorses "word studies." COG's historically have been afraid of members doing such things.
ReplyDeleteThis is Douglas Winnail
ReplyDeleteOops, I almost forgot. Avoid books of the Devil such as Combating Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassan. And books on assertiveness with all their rights nonsense. Remember, your ministers have all rights and you have non. And if I want your opinion, I'II tell you what it is.
Have a profitable Sabbath.
Since when did LCG ever decree members have no rights ?????
DeleteI remember as God blessed me through my career I had to hide it from an LCG “council of elder” member and his lackey. If they ever got any sort of wind of it, they would jealously go on the attack from the podium. Nothing biblically or morally based. Just the made up LCG brand churchianity. I remember one sabbath I had a meeting with my state attorney general, as well as a few other high ranking state officials. I looked around the room and realized it was a big problem that God has chosen to bless me in such a way, all the while I had to hide it due to an inevitable attack if discovered. The other thought that occurred to me, was that there wasn’t a person there with anywhere near enough wisdom to advise me on my series of impactful meetings. I ultimately found moral people with wisdom to advise me for that meeting outside of LCG.
ReplyDeleteAh, 2:23, they actually have to decree that members have no rights? Reality is that it is much more effective not to decree it, but just to act as if it's a given! After all, actions speak louder than words!
ReplyDelete2.23 pm, when did WWCG and its splinters ever decree themselves a tyranny??? Or decree that they have the right to micro manage members lives??? Or lord it over members faith???
ReplyDeleteThey never decree such things since they know that they cannot intellectually defend these positions. Plus have it make its way into the press and court cases.
These churches use the deceitful cult ploy of "if we don't affirm something, it doesn't exist." Which is why in ACOGs writings and sermons, mentioning the word rights is taboo. So members are supposed to pretend that rights don't exist, but the reality is that only ministers have rights in ACOG-land. Members only have various permission slips that can be revoked at the whim of the ministry.
LCG is the place to be.
ReplyDeleteJust as prophesized by Herbert!

There are many members in the splinters that believe that they have rights in their church. Their rights are reasonably respected outside the church, so they assume it's the same inside the church. But they are mistaken. It's an illusion. Looking long and hard and scratching the surface reveals something very different. Many a church member has questioned a church teaching, mentioned reading a certain book, or taken up an activity that doesn't directly benefit other church members. The result? Murderous verbal claws come out. By definition, rights that can't be enforced aren't truly rights.
ReplyDeleteMany church members live simple lives, so a clash with a minister is rare or never happens. So they naively fancy that they have rights inside their church.
All the ACOGs are equally ridiculous, whether they are as outrageous as drag queens like CCOG, RCG, PCG and Weiner Dude's cult, or straight-appearing like UCG, LCG, and COGWA. They are all working from whored up data that became garbled because HWA was fantasizing about receiving newly revealed truths from God during the day, and spending his nights with Dorothy committing one of the worst sins known to mankind! Poor Dorothy wasn't the only one getting screwed! All of us got spiritually screwed! Prove it, you say? Look around you, folks! The Millennium did not begin in 1975!!!
ReplyDeleteDoug has repeated this blurb multiple times; however, I believe he did add a fresh line encouraging readers to do a word search on wise and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteIf the people of the LCG do that word search, they will encounter the passage in 1 Corinthians 1: 18-25, which I often repeat, because it vividly describes the COGs.
Verse 18 reads:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
The passage goes on to describe Jesus as the power and wisdom of God.
The COGs scuff about the “Christians falsely so-called” who preach the message of the cross.
The COGs can claim, with some scarce evidence, that they preach Christ crucified.
However, the small amount of time/effort the COGs spend preaching Christ crucified, compared to the Christians they label as deceived pagans, demonstrates the tiny amount of wisdom in the COGs.
LCG deceptively refers to their church as “original Christianity”.
While doing that word search, the people should take note of whether LCG preaches Jesus nearly as much, and to the exclusion of peripheral topics, as the writings of the Apostles do.
The COGs will discuss the cross, only to call it a pagan symbol; instead, the silly COGs have produced copious volumes about topics such as the Germans are coming, a united Europe, modern Israelite nations, mosquitos, and proper spanking technique.
The wisdom of Doug’s ministry, the wisdom of the powerless LCG, the wisdom behind the entire perishing ACOG movement can be measured by the small, uncomfortable amount of focus they place on preaching the message of the cross.
Members with discernable Christ like traits are persecuted in the ACOGs. Which is why their leaders name and the word church is frequently mentioned and spoken of in very respectful tones, but the word Christ is shunned. Morally they are following another god.
ReplyDelete1:33, you wrote:
ReplyDelete“ the wisdom behind the entire perishing ACOG movement can be measured by the small, uncomfortable amount of focus they place on preaching the message of the cross.“
May I ask, how is it that your, and the rest of the biased rants here on a daily constant basis, an example of “preaching the message of the cross”?
What is being preached here is totally opposite to your claim. This site is no different from those you accuse of being “crossless.”
If there was true concern here, versus the carnal desperation to destroy other human beings to make oneself look holy, righteous and good, you know whitewash the filthy garbage, then why not demonstrate how you really “preach the message of the cross.”?
The truth of the matter is Banned is the church of, anger, bias, misinformation, exaggeration, accusations, the thrill of rolling around in the pig pen, and character assassination, among other low life practices.
On the other hand, there is a better way. Use the site as an example of what real Bible living can be like. Describe all the blessings the posters here have received this year. How you all have helped others in need. How you work together for encouraging those who are having personal problems and inspiring them to overcome them.
Why not point out how various verses have helped change your life for the better.
Looking forward to all the inspiring insights to be posted here explaining and showing how, in the most positive ways, that the law of liberty in Messiah works for everyone.
Thanks, onward to good, gooder, best for all.
That sounds self-defeating. They won't have any members if that happens.
ReplyDelete9.50 This site details Christ's warning of "beware of the Pharisees."
ReplyDeleteThat you find this offensive says heaps about your character.
It's enlightening that you made no mention of Dave Pack swindling his members out of their life savings and widows out of their homes.
ReplyDeleteHello Anonymous of July 6 at 950 AM: I like a couple of your ideas while disagreeing with a few of your other thoughts.
I liked these ideas:
“Use the site as an example of what real Bible living can be like.”
“Describe all the blessings the posters here have received this year.”
“How you all have helped others in need.”
“How you work together for encouraging those who are having personal problems and inspiring them to overcome them.”
“Why not point out how various verses have helped change your life for the better.”
I believe that many Christians (including me, on occasions) have done all that you mentioned above on this site and we welcome you to lead the way to do the same.
You asked:
“May I ask, how is it that your, and the rest of the biased rants here on a daily constant basis, an example of “preaching the message of the cross”?”
In my post earlier today, I did quote Holy Scripture, as I usually do in posts – I mostly use the verses that the starving people of the COGs are not being fed – those verses that COG leaders purposely lead the people away from.
Do I get any credit from you for my use of scripture?
My COG friends seemed to be unfazed when I cite scripture because their COG training makes them immune to comprehending the meaning of verses I quote about topics like grace, justification, or redemption – it’s a clear case of mass rejection of everything their church does not preach.
Are my attempts to preach the cross of Christ by quoting scripture lost on you too?
As for your use of the term “biased rants” – of course Christians are biased against the abusive tactics and poor handling of Holy Scriptures demonstrated by ministers like Doug Winnail and the rest of the COG leaders.
It’s our duty, like Jesus and the Apostles did, to call them out as false teachers – we cannot overlook, excuse, or accept their evil teachings and strategies – they can only preach Jesus is coming in the next five to seven years for so many decades before they have branded themselves as false teachers.
How many decades are too many for you?
Exposing the false teachers for taking the people’s money while distracting them from Jesus with unbiblical chants about the “Germans are coming! The Germans are coming!” is not “carnal desperation to destroy other human beings to make oneself look holy, righteous and good, you know whitewash the filthy garbage” as you described it – it is a demonstration of true concern for the people who are being deceived.
There are many inspirational websites for Christian encouragement.
This particular site is dedicated to exposing the deception and abuses of the ACOGs.
There is room and need for both types of sites and there can also be useful overlap of both types of approaches on both types of sites.
Since we agree on some of your ideas and agree that there’s endless opportunities for growth, we are looking forward to seeing you lead the way.
You get these bozo ministers or authority figures coming here thinking that they can push readers around just like in real life. But without being able to use their abrasive and threatening personalities, they fall flat on their face. This goes to show how poor they are in the intellectual realm.

If Doug and his fellow hirelings, who are so much into SELF and SELF-righteousness, were to follow all of Doug's own advice, then why continue to teach a 3rd resurrection, which is evil and not true, and it certainly isn't of wisdom?
If Doug were to follow all of his own advice, then why continue to teach about some "very soon" to return of "another Jesus" to earth to begin some reign for 1,000 years when scriptures tell us over and over again that Jesus Christ must remain at His Father's right hand in Heaven until all enemies (e.g. death, Satan, death!) have been subdued by God the Father? That is evil, and not the wisdom of God.
If Doug were to follow all of his own advice, then why continue to teach his "living" followers to do this/that to qualify by fulfilling prerequisites/requirements to earth their salvation into God's Kingdom? That is evil, and not the wisdom of God.
Study “wisdom” to gain a better understanding of wisdom, Doug? Really? Let's see.
What is one definition of wisdom, Doug? God inspired Job to tell us this:
Job 28:28 "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom; and to depart from evil [is] understanding."
The fear of the LORD is wisdom, but what is that fear, Doug? Is it possible that this fear is not something one develops, but is a gift of God? You can't steal/use it!
Proverbs 8:13 "The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate."
Doug, if one has this fear of the LORD, one will hate evil. Does Doug hate the evil of teaching a 3rd resurrection? Teaching a MMmillennium, of Jesus very soon returning to reign on earth 1,000 years (only to fail and have Jerusalem be taken over at the end of 1,000 years after Satan exits the pit!). So, how does one hate evil?
Psalm 97:10 "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked."
Doug, love the LORD (And Jesus is not the God of the Old Testament: Jesus' Father/God is)!
Oh, and hate evil! But, love is a fruit of God's Spirit, so God must give that love, and you can't develop, steal, use is, especially if God hasn't given it; can you? Doug, you continue to mislead your followers, burdening them by telling them to do things they cannot do, things you aren't even doing?
Get the point, Doug? If have been given the fruit of love of God (Galatians 5:22), you will hate evil and not teach evil. The fear of the LORD is also a fruit of God's Spirit (not listed in Galatians 5), which results in one hating evil.
Doug, here is some truth you mentioned: "...The Apostle James urges us to ask God for wisdom..." And yes, James knew that wisdom wasn't developed, but was a gift from God, just as real as all of the fruits of God's Spirit are, but it is God's will be done, and not something one can simply of their free choice, free moral agency, demand of God and get it.
So, when will God give you and your fellow hirelings and followers some of God's wisdom?
Time will tell...
John
