Right now, Christ is still using Mr. Armstrong.The ministry have left the Worldwide Church of God and are doing different works.I think Satan wanted them out of the way, so he could claim the Worldwide Church of God was destroyed.But that's a lie isn't it. Matthew 16:18 is the truth. And no, it doesn't exist in another body, like some transvestite who is possessed by a demon.The trans-movement is really what we have seen attack the Worldwide Church of God.

We have ministers claiming a corporation, which is made possible by the male gender of civil government, is now being called a "woman" or a church, and we are to accept that blindly. That's why you see makeup and doctrine change, to try to pass off the perverted as wholesome. They have to change in appearance, because a woman doesn't have those parts which a man has and you cannot hide a sodomite when you pull away all their deception! So you cannot call these groups a "Church of God" because they want to be called it! It is delusional!

HWA was, at his core, a businessman. On the broadcast, and with his writing, he managed to appeal to a broad cross-section of humanity. We had members of all classes of the socio-economic structure "in the church".
ReplyDeleteThe splinters captured their big numbers soon after the Tkach reforms. The leaders of the old WCG were only permitted to rise to a certain level. Not a single minister had the skill set of an HWA or a GTA, the power to make the religion alive, to draw a massive influx of new members into the fold. The best any of the splinter leaders could do was to take their slices of the original pie, and to attempt to limit the attrition. These splinters have had thirty years to become polarized. It is doubtful that anyone who aspires to emerge as a leader could be successful in pirating members from these existing splinters.
We've been watching a collection of bottom-feeders attempt startups for years now, and as time progresses, they become more ridiculous, more hopeless, yet somehow more determined. My own outlook is so different from theirs. It occurred to me several decades ago, that best course in life is to feed the things which are the most productive in my life. Sometimes there's a fight in making that happen, but the returns do regularly continue to come in. Capitalize on natural strengths and talents. Let go of the unsuccessful endeavors.
I can't imagine how defeating it must be to launch an attempt at being the Elvis of Armstrongism. So many have tried that, and never get off the ground. It's difficult to imagine anything more depressing. Too bad Sisyphus wasn't an Old Testament Biblical character. That's about the only way the Armstrongites would accept his lesson.

And how would a mere human who professes to know the mind of God be able to know that Christ is using this vain and unpleasant and lying individual.

ReplyDeleteIt was entirely Herbert W. Armstrong. Garner Ted Armstrong had nothing to do with it.
The only reason that GTA appeared to be anything at all for a while is because his own father HWA had hired GTA, payed GTA, covered up GTA's sins for him, and tried to set up GTA as his successor to lead the Worldwide Church of God. In the end, GTA simply did not have what it takes.
After GTA's own father HWA was finally forced to fire GTA and put GTA out of the WCG openly in 1978, GTA started his own little CGI rebel cult to support his playboy lifestyle. After GTA's playboy lifestyle got him forced out of his own little CGI rebel cult too, GTA started another, even smaller, ICG rebel cult that never amounted to much at all.
Today, some people are still deluded into thinking that GTA had grown the WCG, when in fact the WCG had stopped growing in the 1970s under the mismanagement and sinning of GTA.
With GTA finally out of the WCG openly and permanently (since GTA would no longer even pretend to repent), the WCG began to grow again under HWA.
True. WCG nearly doubled in everything after GTA''s ouster..... He was never even mentioned again until after I caught his broadcast during the Tkach years and figured the Lsodecian era had started since he was not so abberant in his preaching.... except for the government thing.

The mental gymnastics this family goes through to try and prove HWA was the savior of mankind is appalling. He brought nothing worthwhile to the world or had anything of spiritual value for his followers.
ReplyDeleteHow can HWA be a legitimate apostle considering that he pushed 1975. He knew that this date didn't come from God and that thousands of his followers would be injured by the lie. He betrayed the trust of all who looked up to him.

In the mid 1970's prior to his departure, GTA's appearance at the Feast site always had to biggest number of attendees, outpacing that of his father. David Robinson even mentioned this in Tangled Web & wrote how HWA was depressed & how angry he was about it. ( a sign of his narcissistic personality) Ted had his faults no doubt. But in a way, a lot of his sexual issues are sort of like the old saying " an apple doesn't fall from the tree"

It's a Russian thing. In an authoritarian system, when someone is deposed, you write all of their accomplishments out of history, take down their pictures, even remove their grave markers. They are no longer even a person.

He was the one person whom it was difficult to repress, but alas, in all of the members minds he required his father's blessing in order to even exist. I have believed for many years that he was every bit his father's victim as were all the rest of us. There are those who would say that it matters not because it was all a bogus movement anyway, but individual dastardly situations are all part of the corrupt total, and they do matter.
