Another One Bites The Dust: Greg Sargent Out...

Sargent resigned on Friday, and announced he would IMMEDIATELY start holding 'sabbath' services.

To Whom It May Concern:

Today [December 17, 2010], I resigned from the corporate body of the United Church of God.

The reason I was asked to resign is because I have supported the good faith efforts to address and to solve the divide and conflict in which UCG now finds itself. The administration of the United Church of God considers my stand as not supporting UCG management. This is a sad irony. Unless I am allowed to use the exact same criteria I have used for over 44 years in the ministry—following and supporting leaders as they follow Christ’s example, I have no other recourse except to resign.

Examples of my conflict with promising unquestioning loyalty to the administration is laid out in the three documents, What Really Happened in Latin America?, What Are The Real Issues? and What Were The Real Efforts To Seek Reconciliation? (available on request).

My responsibility as a shepherd is to feed and protect the flock. If I remain silent about tainted food being distributed to God’s flock in order to promote peace and harmony in God’s congregation that I pastor, I prove myself to be a hireling and only interested in peace among men. Truth sometimes brings conflict. Despite the uproar caused by Christ when He spoke the truth, true disciples had peace with God.

We are reminded that in April of 1995, a leader tried to intimidate those he called rebels by stating, “In congregations where the pastors have taught faithfully the focus on Jesus Christ…there is little discontent and turmoil. But in congregations where pastors have avoided following headquarters…there is turmoil.”

As we all learned then, living in peace with a contented but deceived congregation was not our main goal. We chose contentment with godliness. Thus we parted ways.

The apostle Paul chose truth over harmony when writing to the Corinthians about immoral behavior. He incited godly disharmony when he later corrected them for accepting and putting up with a different spirit, those whom he defined as deceitful workers.

Dealing with disharmony and standing up for what is right is a necessary part of growing in the character of Jesus Christ. In fact, there must be divisions among us so that those who are approved are recognized (1 Cor. 11:19).

In all this, I do not claim perfect behavior or excellent wisdom in my every approach. I ask for forgiveness for any less than fitting demonstrations of the mind of Christ in me. I can truly say with the apostle Paul that I have not already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid on me (Philippians 3:12).

I will continue to labor in God’s Work until the mind of Christ is formed in all of us (Gal. 4:19) in order that God’s Spirit will give life to our mortal bodies and an inheritance into the kingdom of God and Jesus Christ.

In Christ’s Name,

Gregory L. Sargent

Church of God America - We Are Not A Church! Really! Really We're Not!

UCG's new splinter personlity cult is tripping all over it's self claiming they are not a 'new' church.

1. Is Church of God – America the nucleus for a new corporate Church of God?

No. Church of God-America is not a corporation nor was it started with the intention of becoming one. We are a voluntary association of pastors and elders who are committed to implementing the Ephesians 4 model for Church of God congregations.

Anyone with half a brain can read their web site and see that is not true!

As we look to see what God intends for the future, we will go forward as the scripture reveals a church should function. Because it is impossible to set up a perfect church, we will function in the biblical model of a healthy church.

Job descriptions have been laid out for ministers:

Pastors commit to teach and practice the Ephesians 4 model in their congregations. Pastors commit to follow the job description and duties outlined in Ephesians 4. In sermons and Bible studies, we will focus on doctrine, discernment, and application of the truth.
We hope to have quarterly teleconferences and discuss how things are working. At the end of six months, we will evaluate what we’ve learned in banding together as spiritual brothers.

God forbid if you as a church member   expect to have your voice heard!  Dream on...

Although we appreciate the interest individual members may have, our goal is limited to mutual support among congregations.

Church areas have been established:

Argentina
Bolivia
Brazil
Chile
Uruguay
Guatemala
Honduras
El Salvador
Mexico
PerĂº
Colombia
Ecuador
Venezuela
Church of God - Louisiana
Church of God - South Texas
Church of God - Canada

But brethren we really, really want you to know we are NOT a church!  Really! No sirree Bob!  But we will gladly take your tithe money.  Send it to one of the above addresses.  Pretty please!

UCG's New Harlot Daughter: "Church of God America"

This illustration is NOT part of COGAAIS logo.  Instead it illustrates everything COGAAIS is NOT about!

Church of God America, Anchored in Scripture

My first reaction in reading this is, "Who are the idiots that came of with this name?"   But I digress, considering UCG's name includes the Goddess Gaia in it's name......

Leon Walker and Larry Salyers new splinter personality cult now has an official name, "Church of God America, Anchored in Scripture"

Typical of American hypocritical religiosity, I guess there are no Christians outside America.  Those around the world are less informed, less educated, and lesser Christians  than those superior minds of the USA splinter personality cult HQ's. If these cults really cared about 'members' around the world then let them move their HQ's to other countries.  Show the world you care!

But that is not going to happen.  It is still all about the money.  Now that Walker, Salyer, Hendren and Marshall have jumped ship they have to have some form of money making adventure to keep them in their comfortable lifestyles.

You can quickly see by the churches listed below they are well on their way to establishing their new church!

Walker and crew are also supported by :

UCG Soon To Loose 150+ Congregations?

Current State of Affairs In UCG HQ

UCG's GCE has hit back at Luker's letter.  There is a far more serious division going on than Luker is admitting.  With more than 150 elders now having signed the letter to Luker, there are serious issues that UCG is facing.  Just like in WCG when all the changes came down. People followed those men that they thought were Christian leaders.  WCG/UCG has always had ministers that had their fan club base.  It is guaranteed that these men will draw UCG members away with them when they form a new church organization through The Ambassador International Outreach.  More lives being wasted over stupid men and their stupid unbiblical doctrines

What Really Happened In Latin America

What Are The Real Issues

What Were the Real Efforts to Seek Reconciliation

"It is estimated that a number of firings will take place soon and that as many as ½ of the paid elders will eventually leave or be fired.  As many as ½ to 2/3rds of their approximately 300 congregations are expected to join them."

Dennis Luker to Rebellious Elders: "Christ Himself Organized United...Where Do You Stand?"

Open Letter to the Elders of the United Church of God
December 13, 2010

Dear Fellow Elders of Jesus Christ,

An “open letter” addressed to me was submitted on Saturday night, Dec. 4, carrying the names of a number of ministers. It restated various allegations, many with roots in past issues considered resolved by the Council of Elders, but which appear unresolved by some signers. Since the letter was addressed to me personally, I wish to make a few comments.

Let me give the only answer available to any elder—from Scripture inspired by Jesus Christ and written by the apostle Peter:

The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:1-5).

Let’s face facts: the ongoing struggle within the United Church of God over the past months and years has been about power and control. It’s been about not having the humility and faith to accept our duly elected and appointed governing authorities. We will never have perfect governing documents that will erase all disputes and turmoil from this or any organization. But we can achieve peace and unity, if we are willing follow the teaching and example of Jesus Christ.

I have received verified factual information showing activity of a number of men that was unbecoming of any minister of UCGIA. Consequently, Ministerial and Member Services notified each man of his error providing him time to reconsider his actions. Good-faith exchanges occurred where accepted. Some came in to talk. Others chose little or no response. A few decided to resign. Others proved by words and actions against, or in competition with the Church, that they do not wish to be part of UCGIA. Would you continue to credential ministers who have chosen not to work with us, but against us? I think not.

I would that we were all at peace together, working hard to serve Christ and preach His gospel of the Kingdom. But since the signers of the “open letter” asked, here is what I would have you to do:
  • Would Jesus Christ have said the things that have been said—even perhaps by some of you? Bring back your loyalty to the governing structure that Christ has built in United since 1995. Give positive, supportive, healing sermons and faithfully “shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers” (1 Peter 5:2).
  • Are you taking the authority of Jesus Christ to yourselves? Step back from stoking the fires of our Church’s crisis and truly believe that Jesus Christ is “head over all things to the church” (Ephesians 1:22). Think about what that means.
  • Is a minister’s job to be a politician or a spiritual healer? As elders in the faith you are to “be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).
  • As president of the United Church of God and an elder with you in the faith, I would have you “to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men” (Titus 3:1-2).
From the heart before God and man, how will you personally respond to these questions and requests? Can you support your spiritual mother, the Church of God, as Christ Himself has organized us within United?
With all my heart I sincerely hope and pray that you will rethink and re-pray your position and truly unite with us. But if not, then we are at an impasse.

Fellow elders of the “open letter,” you know where I stand from my president’s message given to the Council of Elders last week. Where do you stand?

Your fellow elder,
Dennis Luker

Walker and Salyer Now Officially In Cahoots’

Larry Salyer has now 'officially' joined up with Leon Walker to be on the board of International Ambassador Outreach.  Salyer was one of the original brains behind it before he was ever canned by UCG.

Get ready to see this independent group start gathering more ministers into it's fold.

Walker is slick in his planning of this.  His Church of God South Texas was his new church.  Then IAO comes along and finds the money sources to pay for Walker and others.

They were deceitful in their original statements.  They knew full well that what they were starting was gong to be something larger than a mere money fund for disenfranchised UCG ministers.

Now they are stating they will be funding 'qualified' ex-ministers.  Of course the 'qualifications'  will be the doctrines and beliefs that are understood by Walker, Salyer and others on the board.

Now with Walker and Salyer the faces in charge, they will gather a group of ex-ministers who will join with them. Toe the line boy's, a bumpy road is ahead!
