Living Church of God public service announcement:
Travelers: Beware of Bed Bugs!In recent years, bed bugs have made a “comeback,” especially in hotels at some popular vacation spots. Therefore, it is prudent to check the beds of your accommodations when you check into your Feast hotels. If you see signs of bed bugs, you should request a different room. Here is a summary from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on how to check your room for bed bugs. Essentially, one should look for “physical signs” of bed bugs, which include:
- Rusty or reddish stains on the bed sheets or mattresses.
- Tiny dark spots (about the size of a “period” on a typed document) on bed sheets or mattresses.
- The actual bugs themselves, in the seams of mattresses or cushions.
Bed bugs are not only painful and irritating, but can travel back home with you and are expensive to eradicate. God can and will protect His Feast-goers from bed bugs, if we are prayerful and vigilant. We also know that a prudent man foresees danger and hides himself (Proverbs 22:3).
Remember, only vigilant people make it into the kingdom and are protected from bed bugs in the process.
Bed Bugs?....Sure....Protection if prayed for. Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis and plague...not so much.

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in Panama City Florida where he was planning on keeping the FOT. He wrote this short letter:
"I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"
An immediate reply came back from the hotel owner, who wrote:
"Dear Sir ...I've been operating this hotel for many years now and have had many Festival goers stay in my hotel. In all that time, unlike some of the COG people who I have had stay here, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly, and I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill.
Yes indeed, your dog is very welcome at my hotel and if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."
Oh, the FOT, what memories. So all people are to observe the FOT? When Amos went to the nation of Israel to give them a message from God, he first addressed the sins of all of the nations that surrounded Israel. This sort of got the audience onto his side before he hammered them also. Looking at the sins of the neighboring countries, I never hear him condemn them for not observing the Sabbath, the Holy Days, dietary laws, or tithing. Could it possible be because these laws, the Law of Moses, were ONLY given to the people of Israel? Also, Amos tells the Israelites to stop singing songs and offering sacrifices, etc. since they are NOT living ethical lives. You can't songs on the Sabbath and with the same lips gossip about others on Monday. He told the Israelites to shut up, sit down, stop pretending to be God's people, you are a bad advertisement for God by the way you live. What if one of the messages at this year's FOT was from God Himself to the churches of God. Wouldn't that be a message that we would all want to sit through. Wouldn't this be a good time (the FOT) to hear from Amos again?

Maybe dogs are better at prayer too?

This is kind of ridiculous. The diet of Armstrongites, especially at the Feast with copious amounts of alcohol also introduced, causes such noxious flatulence that it kills bed bugs! Someone once attempted to introduce this in aerosol form as an insecticide, but insurmountable marketing challenges were detected during beta testing. Even the advertising aces within the WCG itself could not spin or overcome the incredible negatives as they normally do with church doctrine and failed prophecy. There were no blessings for using this spray, and the floral scent, even though they said it was just delayed, never did kick in.
