Armstrongism has produced its share of lunatics and this guy demonstrates just how much Armstrongism perverted the minds of some. Here you will hear about "evil sinisters" in the Church of God (5:54) as he talks about Turkey god day.
Somewhere a lunatic asylum is missing a patient....
Why not celebrate the day? Armstrongism proved itself to be a turkey!
ReplyDeleteBefore I came into the church, I had never sent or received a Thanksgiving card. In the church, I was surprised to find members who would rail against "Christmas customs" but would send dozens of Thanksgiving cards so they could have their version of the Christmas custom.
ReplyDeleteAt least his curtain is straight!
ReplyDeleteThe poor guy. That's just sad. I can be irritated with some fellas, but this is sad.
ReplyDeleteI like the 'earthly things' that he condemns. I like good food, good music and good movies. I just saw Justice League which I thought value for money. No doubt this preacher buys earthly things with his members donated money.
ReplyDeleteBobs got the crappy curtains, and this guys got the crappy audio.
PS I'm coming out of the closet. I'm outing myself. I love earthly things. And I won't be intimidated. And I'm going to join in earthly-things pride marches and festivities. So there.
You have to wonder how long it will be until Google, Facebook, and twitter start censoring the COGs and then other religions. The censorship is hitting new highs and new targets every week.
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago, I had occasion for a lightbulb to illuminate a dark spot from the past. I was reading some materials on parenting. The author suggested that rather than forbid a child from watching certain films or TV shows, a better course would be for a parent and child to watch them together, with the parent guiding and interpreting. Teach 'em life's skills. What a difference between that and typical Armstrongite parenting which, basically, opened the door to so many things, playing them out to become forbidden fruit.
ReplyDeleteIt got me thinking. The bad can be used as a training lesson, just as effectively as the good. This applies to adults as well. God doesn't just teach his children through the approved scriptures, sermons, and church lit. He also teaches them through life's experiences, good and bad. Television, movies, stuff that happens in the family, or at work. Driving in traffic. Some powerful lessons come through song. Why close off some of the channels? Live life. Can God teach us through every experience, every waking minute? Most def!

oh man! that dude is messed up.
ReplyDeleteI looked at his website....you should see how he keeps the passover.
Amazing that you people are funny. What ever happen in this world it was idea of Mr Armstrong. So why Pentecostal and Jehovah Witnesses are not root of Mr Armstrong or Catholic? Have you anything to write good not b...shit about Armstrong.

ReplyDeletePerv Armstrong was a piece of shit! He was NOT the end time "Elijah"! He was a false apostle/ false prophet!
DeleteWhen I was in the church I celebrated all the pagan feast days. I was the only one in my family and circle of friends who attended the Armstrong cult and also the trick is, if you do celebrate the pagan holidays is not let the minister or anybody in the church know your private life!
ReplyDeletetheir version of the Christmas custom
ReplyDeleteI think the WCG missed an opportunity when they didn't push Hanukkah as a substitute for Christmas.
Thats one of the annoying things about Armstrongist Sabbatarianism - theres always some jackoff member popping up to harangue about how it needs to be done this way instead of that way and with all these assorted self-stroking practices, when a "day of rest" is really pretty straightforward.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the SDAs and SDB groups have the same issue or if its just a WCG based phenomenon.
I can't speak for SDA, but the SDB are like Sunday baptist. They observe the "pagan" holidays.
DeleteI thought this was a new video, why the hell put on a 5 year old video (Nov 18,2012).
ReplyDeleteYou people can not leave your past and move on.
Anon 10:04 Please pull up your big boy panties and move on if you don't like things here. Whiner!
ReplyDeleteI am a member of the pcg, and I just want to say... GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT! Half of what you accusse us of is false. For your info we are not a cult. Gerald Flurry admits he has a small following, but you lie and say he claims to have a large one. PCG And Worldwide church of god are the same, we are just the next generation after hwa died. And that stupid article about Gerald Flurry telling us that we will be deported was false. We do not intend to become a large religion, we want to remain small.
ReplyDeleteYou said in an older article of yours
"Gerald Flurry has now decided that he can no longer breathe the same air on planes that the commoners breath. He also cannot stand being int the same security lines with the unwashed heathen masses. Its important now for God's only chosen apostle to travel the earth in style and comfort."
We purchased the plane simply to save money and make our travels quicker, the plane is small, I have been in it, its not meant for luxury and comfort.
You also said Gerald Flurry Prefers To See PCG Members "ROT" From Sickness Than See A Doctor. This is also false, we are allowed to see doctors, but he prefers us not to put all of our faith in them. Its god who heals.
Once again you said this "It has been well documented over the years on how abusive the Philadelphia Church of God has become under the leadership of Gerald Flurry. Families have been ripped apart, marriages destroyed and countless suicides have occurred because of the vile polices that Gerald Flurry has forced upon the membership of the Philadelphia Church of God"
Just to start off, these policies are NOT forced upon us, we are not a cult. There has only been one suicide to take place by a pcg member. For each individual who takes his/her own life, at least 20 attempt to do so. Suicide has a global mortality rate of 16 per 100,000 people. And we have only had 1.
Famillies are not torn apart but made happier in our church.
Anon 1:15, you and Gerald Flurry can go f**k yourselves! His PCG is just another bull shit cult that walks all over the backs of tithe slaves! Flurry is a dumb ass!!!
DeleteHi, Grant! Thanks for demonstrating with your 1:15 PM post that PCG elites don't believe the stuff they push on the ordinary members about staying away from dissident and Laodicean internet sites. As an insider, you surely know that Craig Winters has disfellowshipped PCG members simply for reading this site, which means that your post forces us to conclude one of two things. Either you think you know better than the ministry who've forbidden this site, or you are one of the ministry (or elite family members) who feel that you are above the strictures you place on the rank-and-file PCG tithe slaves.
ReplyDeleteThank you, though, for admitting that half of the PCG-related horror stories we find here are true. That half alone gives us more than enough evidence to indict PCG as a toxic mind-control cult run as a family business.
I like the part about how private aircraft hangaring, maintenance, fuel, licensing etc will "save money".
ReplyDeleteWell! I keep thinkin'! If Herbie had choice words about Uncle Roddy rubbing the fur the wrong way, imagine what he'd say to Gerald Flurry and Dave Pack! LOL! And those guys probably expect a pat on the head and an attaboy in the millennium!

Anyone who calls a group a cult is quoting Armstrong. If you call something pagan, you are quoting Armstrong. Many other "christian" groups use these words too, but he used them more than most.
ReplyDeleteEducate yourselves, the word "pagan" is not in the bible. Compare just a few translations and you will see what the word truly is.
"Cult", is a word from the 70s used to frighten children. It's not a medical or official term of psychology.
Stop quoting Armstrong, you are becoming the thing you all despise. State the truth, it is enough.
