UCG: Still cannot figure out why no one wants to listen to their message

The two words you will NEVER hear a UCG minister or leader say.

United Church of God recently completed their Council of Elders conference.  It is a typical report that the COG is ever so good at putting out,  a regular back-slapper,  as usual.

However, Vic Kubik had this to say about the public reception of their message:

President Kubik concluded his remarks agreeing with Dr. Ward that we are living in troubling times in the world. We see a world that doesn’t want to hear the gospel message, but it still must be preached. The book of Jeremiah is a good example that even when it isn’t popular, we must continue to give the message that God has for us to preach to this world. The time of Jacob’s trouble is approaching and we must be spiritually ready to face those days. We must be doing the work God has called us to do. We have so much to accomplish and it should excite us.
Kubik, and the rest of the COG's are completely out of touch as to why the world does not want to hear their message.  The first indication is that they mention Jeremiah instead of Jesus.  UCG, as well as many other COG's place their emphasis on Old Testament books that fit the end-time malarkey they so desperately need to happen, instead of focusing upon the redemptive qualities of Jesus and the message and example he set.

Plus, in a world that is beset with a multitude of troubles, people are sick of heading into church and having to sit there and be bombarded by more endless streams of troubles ahead with the end time speculative shit that the church loves to continually dish out. What is the point of praising and worshipping God if he is eager to wipe out humanity like the god of Armstrongism is so eager to do?

God forbid if Jesus is discussed.  That might be a new concept that Kubik and the UCG might consider.

Better yet, why don't they all resign and set their people free!

  1. People are much more sophisticated today than they were back in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. They can sense it when a thinly veiled message is tied to a predatory cult that wants to take over their entire lives. Avoiding the message is a simple act of survival.

  2. Please join my "The Old Testament Church of God".
We are the only true splinter.
We preach 100% OT with the exception of the Book of Revelation.

Even though we are 100% OT, we keep the feasts of the Jews the way HWA inspired, not according to the Bible.
    HWA is our ultimate authority.
We learned at his feet - or was it the feet of the feet of the feet of those who were personally taught by him?

Send your money now - but send it to the Red Cross who actually help people.

  3. Any potential new members, these days, are likely to look for churches on the Internet.

Anyone who researches the ACOGs on the Internet will find plenty of truthful information about the ACOGs' failed prophecies, scammy leaders, and general uselessness.

Even in HWA's day, something like half of all new members came into WCG because of family and close friends. Unfortunately, that model only works when your other half come in through a compelling media effort that isn't debunked by thousands of truth-telling websites.

By now, the ACOGs are full of tired, depressed, life-long members who are mostly there for the fellowship, as they have seen that the ministry has given them one lie after another, one failed prophecy after another. When new attendees show up for Sabbath services and find the degree of depression and cliquishness common to so many ACOG congregations, why would they bother to stay?

  4. Comment was made saying: "President Kubik concluded his remarks agreeing with Dr. Ward that we are living in troubling times in the world. We see a world that doesn’t want to hear the gospel message, but it still must be preached..."

What gospel message: what is the gospel message?

Is it the gospel of peace?

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

    Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Well, then, what peace? Peace when?

United and the xcogs can't even agree on what that gospel of peace is all about. In fact, United is caught up, like the other xcogs, in the following situation:

2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Even if United discussed Jesus, then we must ask: which Jesus? There are so many Jesus' out there. United is caught up via "another spirit" to enable United to preach another gospel and, of course, another Jesus: but which one?

Perhaps if the United hirelings, former "little helpers" to HWA who fled WCG leaving their ministerial credentials behind, just might get a handle on that "gospel of peace" if they could just figure out why the Apostle Paul said the following:

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;..." 2 Cor 5:19

Now, if that reconciling could be true, then wouldn't that bring some degree of peace to this world? Wouldn't there be some "good news" gospel in that reconciling? But which God, which Christ, would the United hirelings latch on to?

Relative to Victor Kubik, the following comment was made: "...The book of Jeremiah is a good example that even when it isn’t popular, we must continue to give the message that God has for us to preach to this world. The time of Jacob’s trouble is approaching and we must be spiritually ready to face those days. We must be doing the work God has called us to do. We have so much to accomplish and it should excite us."

What specific work has God called United to do? Are the hireling leaders in the United Ass. confident that they have not made that phrase "the work" to be their god? Something that is "the work" of their own hands. Who is God? Is God One? Two? Some twinity?

And Jacob's trouble approaching! What is the concern there?

"Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it." Jeremiah 30:7

What do the United hirelings really know about Jacob's trouble? Probably about as much as they know about the "10 kings" and Jesus Christ's 2nd coming (Of course, turn a blind eye to Christ's return to earth for a 40 day period that happened almost 2,000 years ago).

But regardless of what the United Ass. does with their control, their mammon, their confusion, etc., we have this "good news" that shall benefit someone:

"...he shall be saved out of it..." Jer 30:7

And that almost sounds as good as what is in these verses:

Exodus 14:30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

Isaiah 45:17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

And time, not the United Ass. [[or cogwAss., living, ______________ (pick another group name to fill the blank), Thiel, Flurry, Pack, Malm, ________________ (choose a name to fill the blank)]], will tell...

  5. They should check the calendar; they are an Anachronism:

    Still Flogging fundamentalism:
230 years after the German & Dutch schools of Radical Higher Criticism,
    170 years after Millerism,
    150 years after Darwin...

Even simple, uneducated Perbvert was an instant anachronism with his 1930s Millerism reboot!

  6. Frankly, the USA is a bad market for religion as a whole. Christians churches of all types are in decline, in what can be termed as a "Post Christian America" especially in the under 35 crowd.

However, the emerging markets still have tremendous potential, and appear to be (in general) overlooked by the UCG for its media efforts. I think that this may be because emerging market recruits do not pay as well as first world recruits. However a "soul" is priceless , regardless of the ability to monetize the recruit.

  7. Tonto - this is because WCG members and the splinters were deceived into believing the great commission was prophecy instead of the commission given by Jesus to preach to all the world and make disciples of all nations.
Since we were taught to believe the Bible, it is amazing how much we missed that is in the Bible.

  8. “UCG: Still cannot figure out why no one wants to listen to their message”

    HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS:

Maybe the old ministers in the UCG could ask their own children who married outside of the church and do not attend why they are not interested.

Maybe the newly-credentialed fake ministers in the UCG could ask their own children who married outside of the church and do not attend why they are not interested.

Maybe the UCG members could ask their own children who married outside of the church and do not attend why they are not interested.
