Does It Take An Agnostic/Atheist/Materialist/Twice Dead, Lake of Fire Bound High Priest of Molech To Remind You...

Dear Church of God Ministerial Asshats...

Definition of asshat

vulgar slang
a stupid, annoying, or detestable person ASSHOLE
Oh Look...While I know the New Testament is not on your theological radar...

Romans 13 New King James Version (NKJV)

Submit to Government

13 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will [a]bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

Love Your Neighbor

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” [b]“You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."
...that's all I got...

  1. Of course everyone should submit to government. By contrast, if everyone decided to choose right from wrong for themselves, there would be utter chaos. Society would collapse. So everyone should submit to government without question. Besides, what do the uneducated little people know? They are twits. They need to be put in their place, and told what to do.

  2. This blog content seems to be swirling down and down. Comments and posts repeating the same spirit. Do you have anything to offer except hate and bitterness ?

  3. Pointing out folly when others won't and noticing foolishness is hardly hate and bitterness my friend

Since when does telling people we should cooperate with government mandates in order to stem the tide of this Covid-19 outbreak equal hate? The second part of loving our neighbor, is that hate and bitterness as well.
Of course if your part of a few of the splinter COGs you should not love your neighbor because they are sinners and will have to be punished by the tribulation. I understand that loving your neighbor should not be confused with righteous works like praying, fasting, holy days and tithing.

  5. This is not a simple issue. When opposing viewpoints clash, the debate tends to segue towards black-and-white. The Haredim in Israel (ultra-orthodox) also did not heed the call to take various measures against Covid (reported on NPR). Their tradition is only to take direction from rabbis - not the government. And the rabbis see no precedent for using isolation to deal with contagion and social distancing runs against the grain of their culture. There is a downside - the Haredim are only 12% of the population but 60% of the Covid hospitalizations.
For me complying with government guidelines in this case makes sense. But some people have to undergo a religious or cultural revolution to do something like this. Or they have to set aside a huge burden of carefully nurtured conspiracy theories to do this.

  6. DD is rethinking his poor life decisions based upon this pestilence released by the Creator upon the earth. Kinda disproves his lack of faith, must be terrifying.

  7. NEO,
Yes, a complicated issue for sure that may or not require the draconian actions thus far taken particularly when they have not provided us with more information on the victims and those hospitalized. We are being played when they intentionally do not provide information that leads to the better decisions. Individuals are part of that better decision making.
Gary, I thought I posted on, I believe, the Brisbey article but never saw it and wonder if you intentionally didn't post it. NO worries as it is your site, but it was meant as giving another perspective. There are a lot of issues involved with the covid response that might have been different if there had been more transparency.

What a load of crap! God did not release this plague on humanity. The lengths people go to to pull rabbits out of HWA’s ass to “prove” prophecy is revolting.

  9. The pandemic is what it is. It's up to us to deal with it and to get through it, and finger-pointing or denial do not help that process. No matter what is done, we'll also have to deal with the law of unintended consequences in certain areas. This is also a period of great vulnerability.

So far, we've witnessed many acts of unexpected kindness, and a good rate of voluntarism, even to the extent that retirees in the healthcare profession have returned to work, and many of them are in the primary risk age group.

One of the very predictable reactions of Armstrongites is the invoking of various conspiracy theories, and the paranoia which accompanies them. We don't need that at this time, as it's part of the problem rather than part of the solution. It is suppository-thinking as opposed to positive-thinking. Armstrongism is not a problem-solving philosophy. It's more like a punishment is inevitable and you can't do anything about it state of existence. Better they should shut their damned mouths and go with the game plan that will slow or stop the contagion. That's for their own good as well as ours!

Really? You sound overly confident of your position. Please explain to all of us just how you know this is not from "god".

The burden of proof that it is from God or god is on you because extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, which of course, you don't have. You feel, suppose, hope, think or imagine it is from God, but you can never know this as God really has a difficult time even saying "hi" much less "trying to get our attention" as Bob Thiel imagines, feels, supposes, hopes and thinks.

  12. Lack of transparency is likely due to not believing the general population is capable of properly evaluating facts and creating their own or at least amended actions that the experts think they can make policy on. Experts aren't the ones that should be making policy. They should advise.

Ahhhh, yes the resident Armstrong Atheist responds....as I knew he would. The burden does not lie with me, it lies with the person making the accusation that this virus is NOT from the Creator. I did not make that claim. I can imagine as DD sleeps in his bed that the terrifying thoughts of reality begin to creep into his mind that yes, there actually is a Creator, and this pestilence is proof of that, and it slowly dawns on him that his decision-making process has been demolished because of some creepy old man from Pasadena has lead him to where he is today.

Like Kurtz said in "Apocalypse Now"....The Horror, the Horror.

Let's see if the great moderator lets this response through.
