James Malm has died

James Malm, of the Shining Light blog, has died.  His son David posted this:
Hello Dear readers with a very heavy heart, I tell  you I found my father and best friend James Malm passed away this morning, James for those who don’t know had been struggling with diabetes, High blood pressure, And failing  eyesight for years. He was trying very hard to get better eating less and trying to control his BP      he wanted to see me happy one day in the refuge I just cannot believe this nightmare im in, he cared for me so much and tirelessly tried to warn the church of the state of pure idolatry that its in today. My father James had a vision once in a hotel room his troubles almost overwhelming and an angel said to him [ This is the time my son this is the time be strong and persevere ] Well this is still the time! his struggle may be over but he fought like a soldier for me and for all of you and I pray for him this beloved teacher and mentor my good friend and teacher in the faith who did persevere and was strong! 1. Well, it is sad to hear anyone dies, but now he knows that all of that zealousness was unnecessary and that someone greater than the law settled the matter for us once for all.

  2. I am saddened by this. Though i disagreed with his take on quite a few things, he was sincere and wanted to serve God. He was a service to many during the ucg/cogwa split and provided details of both sides that revealed much about these two organizations.
I pray the Malm family is comforted and that they are drawn closer to the Lord through all this.

  3. I'm sorry for his family's loss. I hope that his son abandons his father's ministry though. I think we can live our lives without having to do anything special when the moon is full, or half full, or new in Jerusalem.

  4. It says in the bible that when the wicked die, the righteous rejoice.

  5. He was zealous, but misguided, like most in the CoG communities

  6. He saw an angel in a vision? Oh brother. Either he was a liar or a loon. And, if the vision really happened (I speak as a fool) how does he know it wasn't the devil posing an a angel? You CANT know that! Visions seem to be worthless--could be the devil.

  8. I have not heard from BB lately. Perhaps he and Malm were one and the same person. Or maybe he is out rioting with Antifa.

  9. My condolences to his family. I believe that he was genuinely trying to help others with his blog.

No, no. The rioters have burnt down BBs business.

I don't agree with people here condemning Malms blog and similar. From a book on brainwashing:
"..the presence of minority ideas, acceptable or not, is one of the ways in which we protect ourselves against the creeping growth of majority conformist thinking in the U.S."

We all know that BB did not seek office in the Armstrongite Kingdom.
Word has it that yet, because of this meek attitude, he has been called to preside CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) and if succesfull might still proceed into office as assistant governor at Tatooine in the Kingdom and I'll be his attorney to ensure liberty for all.

Yeah I've noticed that Byker Bob has not been here for a while as well. I highly doubt he or Malm are the same person. Maybe BB is just taking a break and out cruising around on his Harley.

  14. It sounds like his son loved him and had great respect for him. I am glad that he was a good father.

  15. @ 1:54 AM, the ACOGs need an Emmanuel Goldstein in order to keep their sheep isolated on their particular ACOG pasture. With Malm out of the picture, they'll need to find a new bogeyman to focus members' ire and to convince them that they are the superior ones with the Truth. Maybe this will mean an upsurge in attacks against Bob Thiel?

  16. Sorry to hear about James Malm. In his own way I believe he was sincere in what he did.

I wrote to him a few times on specific points, and he was, surprisingly maybe, relatively open to input. In fact he moderated one of his Sabbath doctrines from input I gave him! I know of no one else that has ever done that!
I know this blog will miss him - a good percentage of its material concerned James!

  17. The Shining Light just faded away. It never became the light shining on a hill that James imagined.

  18. I hope BB is okay. Does anyone know for sure that he is?

  19. BB was last seen in Scottsdale AZ riding his bike carrying looted office printers.
    I think.

  20. I just figured it out. Malm was missing a comma. His site truly was

    The Shining, Light

All law and no grace makes James a dull boy. Malm was driven mad by his fears of a murderous YHVH who would smite him for failing to correct the errors of Armstrongism. No overt physical murders as in the movie, but it was in many ways The Shining, Light.

LOL! You have no idea! Someone gave us so much Dave Pack stuff it would take months if not years to go through it all. The problem is having to waste time sitting there listening to his asinine rants.

Okay, let me summarize it all. David C. Pack is a raging false prophet leading a satanic imposter cult. There is seemingly endless demon-inspired babbling to waste your time and warp your mind and ruin your life. All Dave Pack wants is to promote himself endlessly, steal everything you have, and destroy you forever.

Klepto-Dave Pack-of-lies is a Master of the Twisted Scripture.

  23. Regarding Pack, his guardian angel, Dennis, still hasn't (as far as I know) exposed what he knows about Pack. He could destroy Pack but he has more fun discussing him. Too bad for Pack's victims.

  24. Minority views are constructive--if they are truthful.

  25. Yes, he had what some call a "hater blog." But he tried to point out errors in COG teachings by using the Bible, not sarcasm and ridicule.

Sometimes his pokes made sense. Sometimes they did not. He was like many COGs in that regard.

    Praying for his family.

And who decides what is constructive and truthful? You? Why do you have the right to decide for others what is truth?

  27. Good distinction mr. cog member.

  28. God Almighty knows the truth 6:01. We all will stand before Jesus Christ and give an account. Double lives never end well no matter how stupid you love to think people are.

And EGW was a false prophetess like HWA was a false prophet.

  31. Is there a specific link to where James's son has posted this? I'm looking on the website (https://godourlight.info) but can't find this exact information anywhere. TIA

  32. That's ok I just solved my problem in tracking down the page where James's son posted this. I found it via https://7th-day.info/church-of-god-news/ The website address for this posting by David Malm is https://theshininglight.info/from-david-malm/ for anyone interested.

  33. Pack must be eagerly waiting for two more to die, so that he could claim that he was right concerning the death of three in one month.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, he escaped the tribulation. There's peace in the grave for him, with judgment day being a blink away.

  35. I once watched a COG "elder" slight Malm before an audience as having money problems and "living in a van" after Malm published something critical.

Whatever his other faults, at least some of the birds he upset had feathers in need of ruffling.

    RIP.
