The Church of God's most incredible self-appointed prophet in the 2,000-year history of Christianity has delivered another one of his ADD sermons, bouncing all over the place, unable to focus his mind on one thing to preach upon. Don't expect a sermon on Jesus, it's not.
As usual, he cannot form a unique thought in his head and has to revert back to Herbert Armstrong for his material. Where would the current slice of lemmings in the COG be today without plagiarizing or using Herbert Armstong's materials to preach from? Since none of these guys have ever had real theological training from a real college or seminary, they have to use hand-me-downs from the original failed prophet.
If you can dare to watch, you will be subjected to another chair-bouncing hand-waving presentation where you will get to hear him moan over people who leave the church and other mind-dumping diversions. He narrows in on spiritual gifts, of which he has none, but yet seems to think he is qualified to preach about them.
It just frosts his naturopathic butt that 99.99 % of the COG refuses to acknowledge the nightmarish dreams that he attempts to use to legitimize himself in our eyes. Never since God dreamed up the universe and creation has dreams been more important in the COG, but only if those dreams come from the Great Bwana himself. Gerald Flurry and Dave Pack's dreams are invalid. Only Bwana Bob's dreams count. The Great Bwana has been trying to destigmatize dreams in the COG movement for some time now.
The other day he threw another mind fart as a sermon where he wants to destigmatize speaking in tongues. Can you imagine watching Bwana Bob as he bounces in his chair, flailing his arms about, while he speaks in tongues? Holy Hanna! What a mind trip THAT would be!!!!!
1 Corinthians 13-14: Love, Prophecy, and Tongues
In this 7th part of an intended 8-part series on the Book of First Corinthians. In this sermon, Dr. Thiel goes over each and every verse of the 13th and 14th chapters of the Apostle Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians. He also includes comments from the late Pastor General of the old Worldwide Church of God, Herbert W. Armstrong. Subjects covered include love, God’s loving plan, characteristics of love, Pentecostalism, gaining knowledge, people who leave the true church, prophecy, use of spiritual gifts, tongues, foreign languages, prophets in Corinth, banning prejudices against tongues and dreams, edifying others, having mature understanding, falling backwards, women preaching, importance of scripture, and doing things decently and in order.
Why does Bob continue to do this to himself?
ReplyDeleteHey Bob, why don't you get into Shakespeare? Or maybe Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead? Let everyone else attempt to discover the exact right formula of Armstrongism? (Pssstt: There isn't one!)
Bob and his CCOG may well be the COGest of the COGs and the most Philadelphian of the Philadelphians - as he defines them. But, like HWA, he accepted, and is propounding a number of systemic errors, giving himself the honor of being "the best of a bad bunch".
ReplyDeleteHe appeared to came very close to it ... but I knew the audio and video were out of synch.
ReplyDeleteBob is probably the worst speaker I personally have ever encountered in ministry. He talks too fast. He mumbles through some things. He can't narrow or limit himself to one topic at a time. His gestures are beyond annoying and distracting. His eye contact is lousy. He has no discipline of thought and cannot stay on course.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to sit on his hands. Pick a topic. Throw out the flower curtains. Get over the 1 hour and 30 minute format of days gone by. Stop being special and rethink his delusional double blessed calling to be yet another one true church and you're not.
I'd rather listen to Dave Pack continue to make a fool out of himself and his members than listen to Bob and that's saying something because when I receive Dave's recent sermons, as in hours after he gives them, I give it five minutes and realize life is too short to waste on Dave too.
I do love however that Dave starts every sermon with "Well, here we are again. We're right on track and everything is fine. This will be a short message", and then goes on for the traditional 1;30 minutes of useless, meaningless and lying babble.
I'd rather listen to Dave Pack
ReplyDeleteYes, back when he was making his World to Come programs, he was able to put on a rather polished act. Of course Aaron Ra could tear apart Dave's arguments with the greatest of ease.
In Bob's case, he's hard to follow, with his convoluted streams of consciousness. I think Aaron wouldn't know where to begin in a rebuttal of his divergent rabbit trails.
The so-called 'speaking in tongues' being done today by the Pentecostals and Charismatics isn't the real thing. Many linguists have recorded and analyzed tongue speaking incidents, and have concluded that they're just speaking in gibberish that's modeled after the language they speak already. If Bob-Boy starts with the tongue speaking, nobody will be able to notice any difference, for he speak gibberish now anyway!
ReplyDeleteProphet Thiel's far flung members in Africa could be better served if he had a Business Jet.
ReplyDeleteHis 200+ white followers need to be motivated to this need and go Full-Common giving.
Bob is already speaking tongues. Never has the church had a man who speaks such gibberish as he does. Nothing he says makes any sense.
ReplyDeleteI think Bob is an intelligent man when it comes to "facts". His problem is that he is filled with so much vanity and narcissistic behavior that he is incapable of common sense. Intelligent people frequently do not have the ability to make common decisions as everyday people do. Bob's brain is so addled with countless facts and personal interpretations he can not form a definitive statement about anything. That is why he always comes across as a fool.

Well said anon…..well said
Why not…?? We have certain wanna/be ministers who speak in tongues here all the time….
ReplyDeleteAnd…..slime still smells
I thought he had taught himself how to translate his own farts into words, and that was where his messages came from. But, speaking in tongues may not smell quite so bad.
