Our most highly favored prophet to ever grace the Church of God movement posted an article on April 13 that included an article from Vox titled "How to forgive someone who isn't sorry".
After the article, the Great Bwana had this to say:
Yes, it is good for us to be merciful and forgiving:
17 The merciful man does good for his own soul,
But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh. (Proverbs 11:17)
In Matthew 18:7, Jesus said “offenses must come” so we should expect to be offended.
As far as forgiving someone who has not repented, Jesus prayed:
29 … “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:29)
Remember that the Apostle Paul taught we were to imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).
Our God is most merciful:
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. (Psalm 103:8)
Mercy mirrors God’s very character. God is truly a forgiving Father. We have to be His merciful and forgiving children.
It is interesting that he posts this AFTER his "Passover" service, a night that the COG movement looks to as a night for wiping the slate clean for the previous year's sins. One would've expected that such an article would have been sent to his dwindling faithful BEFORE "Passover" so that they could cleanse their hearts of bitterness and anger towards others that may have offended them. But this is Bob, after all, and letting go is NOT one of his attributes.
The Great Bwana continues:
Being longsuffering includes being able to forgive trespasses against us. Paul also told the Collossians:
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. (Colossians 3:12-14)
Yes, love and forgive. Yet many, including Christians, do not seem to want to forgive and let go.
The Apostle Peter taught:
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. (2 Peter 1:5-7)
Passover apparently did not work too well for Bob this year as he is already sinning by letting his anger get to him by dragging up once again how Rod Meredith and the Living Church of God IGNORED his demands to change its teachings to fit HIS interpretations.
This now brings us to today's blog entry by the Great Bwana on how ignorant the Philadelphia Church of God and the Living Church of God are on the tribulation and when it is to arrive "PCG and LCG still have the Great Tribulation starting too late!"
It is one of his usual rants on how he is more highly biblically educated than either of the two groups, particularly when it comes to end-time prophecy and the tribulation. Nothing gets a COG leader off more than looking forward to mayhem and death upon the people of the world.
Gerald Flurry also wrote the following in his Daniel –Unsealed at Last!booklet:
THE GREAT TRIBULATION
The verses preceding Daniel 11:40 discuss what happens in the Church prior to the Tribulation. (Flurry G. Daniel –Unsealed at Last! PCG booklet, 2016, p 82)
No, while some verses in Daniel 11 do discuss the Church, the verses in Daniel 11 immediately preceding verse 40 are NOT describing what happens to the Church prior to the start of the Great Tribulation. Notice what Daniel specifically wrote there:
36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:36-39)
The Great Tribulation starts no later than Daniel 11:39.
PCG, just like LCG, has the Great Tribulation starting too late.
The two Geralds need to kneel at the feet of the all-knowing Bob so he can educate them as to the true meaning of scripture. Yes, I know! What a ludicrous thought, but this is Bob, after all.
Then the Great Bwana launches in on the Living Church of God. His bitterness at their rejection of him still eats at his core. 13-14 years later and he still cannot let it go. When his spiritual Daddy, Rod Meredith publicly rejected his biblical interpretation and his prophethood status, that was the ultimate coup de grâce for Bob.
Both of these church groups, readers of this blog, and all other COG groups out there will be left behind while Bob heads off to Petra to start his reeducation camp for this faithful who will have somehow been magically transported for all over Africa to the place of final training to be gods, goddesses, kings, priests, and rulers of galaxies as Bob sits on his throne next to Christ.
Here is a statement from LCG’s Official Statement of Fundamental Beliefs:
THE “GREAT TRIBULATION”
The Bible speaks of a time of great catastrophe, called the “Great Tribulation” (Matthew 24:21–22; Daniel 11:40–45; 12:1; Luke 21:19–36)—also called “Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:3–7).
That “Fundamental Belief” is scripturally in error. And when I was in LCG, its evangelists Dr. Roderick C. Meredith, Dr. Doug Winnail, and Richard Ames all agreed that it was in error. And Dr. Meredith promised in a meeting with them and myself that LCG’s Official Statement of Fundamental Beliefs would be changed before the end of January 2012 to correct it.
But, that did not happen.
So, now, since PCG and LCG still officially teach that the Great Tribulation does not begin until Daniel 11:40 (which discusses the battle between the King of the North and the King of the South), they are looking for the wrong event, while overlooking the event in verse 39.
Unless PCG and LCG change on this, and other significant prophetic errors they hold, they will NOT know when the Great Tribulation will begin until after it is too late for nearly all of their members to possibly flee to the place of protection that the true Philadelphian Christians will be protected at.
There are serious theological and prophetic differences between various groups calling themselves Church of God.
Jesus warned that most endtime Christians would be Laodicean and NOT take the proper spiritual steps to be protected from the coming “hour of trial” (Revelation 3:10).
No real Christian in their right mind would ever be following Bob Thiel. If you truly had faith in the God you claim to follow and were a follower of Jesus; to follow Bob would be to destroy your spiritual life. Bitterness, anger, and not letting go are sins that Bob cannot escape. His ministers in Africa see this and they also act accordingly. Another article will follow that shows how much anger and bitterness fill the minds of one of Bob's ministers in Africa.
No one should ever put their trust in Bob Thiel to tell them when the tribulation arrives. He has no idea either, regardless of how much he lies that he does. Besides, if a Christian is following Jesus then they have no need for concern. They rest in the assurance he brings and not in the blathering of self-appointed illegitimate COG leaders who let their lives continually be filled with bitterness and anger.
