Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before!
With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.
Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders
We all knew this was coming when Sheldon Monson was kicked out of the Living Church of God and had a broadcast the following week.
Now, we have a new Church of God thanks to Sheldon who now wants your tithe money and offerings.
Welcome to Church of God Assembly, Gerald Weston's new nemesis.
Special News Delivery: During the live streaming of services, September 5th at 2:00pm EDT, for the "COG Broadcast YouTube Channel." Sheldon Monson officially announced the formation of the newest Church of God group to hit the world scene. After some time of discussion and because of their origin, they decided the best title for their new group should be "Church of God Assembly." This was quite predictable considering the hint dropping every week during Sheldon's personal services on YouTube. Or at least that's what it seemed like. Personally, In a way I'm kind of glad he formed his own group. In a way though, I can't make that more abundantly clear. Why am I sort of glad? Well.. because honestly I'd like to see LCG's reaction. A competitor has arisen in their mist. I wonder what their next action will be? Something typical.. probably.. sigh. I wonder if LCG's membership is dropping? I'm sure Sheldon can take away quite a few more. I mean he already has. Best regards, NDA
I never realized that the purpose of Jesus being on earth was for him to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God, be crucified for our sins, then resurrected so that he could come back and work with one little group (like, in Charlotte)! Who knew???????????????? This "Jesus" sure has to be one busy dude since he has to be in so many different COG headqurters working. How can he be in Charlotte when he is in Gover Beach? Or, Edmond, OK? Or, Wadsworth, OH? But then, COG leaders need to make their followers feel special in order for them to give more money. The more special and set apart you are with "hidden knowledge" the more special people will feel and think they need to support this so-called truth.
Weston also reminds his faithful few that their goal is to be rulers of cities and worlds. Everyone gets a new planet! Woo Hoo!
What are those “many things” that we are to rule over? The Parable of the Minas reveals that those who are called, chosen, and faithful during this life, are given the opportunity to rule over cities when Jesus comes back to straighten out the mess that we humans have gotten ourselves into (Luke 19:16-19). Yes, the message Jesus brought was a message about righteous government—something sorely missing today.
That may surprise some of you who are newer, but that is what the Gospel of the Kingdom of God is all about (Mark 1:14-15). That is the message Jesus taught for three-and-a-half years prior to the time when He paid the penalty for our sins by shedding His blood and dying on our behalf (1 John 1:5-7). He was resurrected and now works in a small group of people through the power of His Spirit, transforming us to think and act as He thinks and acts (Romans 8:6-9; Galatians 2:20). This same Jesus will return in power and glory to rule over the earth (Zechariah 14:9), and at that time, He will resurrect His servants to rule with Him on the earth for one thousand years (Revelation 20:4).
Let me get this straight...LCG leaders, ministers, and some privileged members have been transformed into thinking and acting like Jesus acted? Lord have mercy! If that's the case then Jesus PLEASE save us from your followers!
If Weston and LCG leadership are the "transformed life" we have to look forward to, then the licking flames of the lake of fire would be a better alternative.
This is the same message given to the prophet Daniel. Notice what is revealed regarding this Kingdom to come: “The kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him” (Daniel 7:27). The term saint has been greatly corrupted over the centuries and merely refers to faithful followers of God, not someone set up on a pedestal in the way many mistakenly believe. See 2 Corinthians 1:1 and Ephesians 1:1. Few Christians realize how far removed their denominational teachings are from original Christianity.
Few LCG members realize how far removed LCG is from the original Christianity.
This is precious knowledge you are being given. It is knowledge not generally understood in the professing Christian world. It may be knowledge that some of you who are newer have not yet fully realized, but our booklet Do You Believe the True Gospel? explains this truth in greater detail and will unlock the scriptures that have been right there in the Bible all this time, ever since they were first written millennia ago. They are not difficult to understand and if God is opening your mind, all you need to do is read and believe what the Bible clearly says.
No silly! All you need to do is read OUR literature and THEN you will understand things. According to COG ministers, Christians down through the centuries have been too stupid or blinded to understand what Jesus taught. Only those in the COG know that truth. That bullshit meter in the Church of God is constantly peaked off the end of the chart when they say this!
Hundreds of millions of Christians through the centuries have understood what Jesus did and accomplished. Many of them have died for that, something none of the wimpy-ass COG leaders in the last 80 some years have ever had to do, regardless of how loud they screech PERSECUTION these days.
The Christian faith has always evolved with each generation as it applied those truths to their own lives and living circumstances. Thank goodness no one in 2020 is like those "original" Christians! Our calling demands us NOT to be!
Any COG minister that claims they are practicing original Christianity is a liar.
The boys in Cincinnati want you to know that they are socially distancing during the live filming of their podcasts...though inquiring minds want to know - where are the masks?
They seem pleased at the topics of their recent episodes, though it looks like the same tired worn out crap that has been preached about for decades. It is almost 2021 and one would think they could come up with new material.
Yesterday we recorded three more Beyond Today television programs with a studio audience consisting of our Ambassador Bible College class. The programs were "Human Identity and the Family of God" by Darris McNeely, "Why Do Good People Suffer?" by Steve Myers and "Beware the Mark of the Beast" by Gary Petty.
Their "faith" is also being challenged by the COVID restrictions that limit the Feast of Tabernacles' locations, attendance, and procedures this year. All first-world problems for an elitist COG group. Especially, while they have members in Africa who may walk half or full-day journey's to be at a Feast location (like they have bragged about happening in the past). Yet, the boys whine about U.S. restrictions.
Never fear though, UCG's CORRECT version of prophecy has all of this under control. Bob Thiel, be damned, we have it right!
We live in an era of fear, anxiety and uncertainty. But we in the Church of God are blessed with understanding—especially prophetic understanding—that brings peace and calmness. We can withstand and overcome trials in part because we confidently know that whatever season of life we are in, we will come out of it, We will win.
In a recent posting on COGWRITER, "Are Women to Give Sermons?", Bob Thiel says...
"Let me make a few points.
First, while Tina Engelbart is entitled to her opinion about what she thinks the Greek means, the reality is that there is no record of Christian women preaching in either the New Testament nor in early Christian writings. While it is possible that the apostateSimon Magusmay have had a female preach, and maybe some of the other apostates did, people who understoodkoineGreek at the time apparently did not feel that the Apostle Paul was allowing women to preach.
Second, UCG is correct that women should not be preaching. This is confirmed by the following passage that is in the Bible (hence, even allowing for a different translation of 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, this is not something only to be derived from the Talmud as Tina Engelbart indicates):
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. (1 Timothy 2:11-12).
It is also a historically accurate position as the early COG did not have women preaching in services."
I would suggest that Dr Thiel keep reading to fully understand Paul's reasons for his opinions. And that this is just Paul's opinion.
Let me make a few points as well...
I Timothy 2:
11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness.12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet....KEEP READING BOB 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. 15 Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
First of all, Paul says it is his rule. He does not permit it. It's his opinion and he has nothing from his hallucinatory Jesus to quote about the issue. Neither would he find anything in the Gospels which came long after his death.
Secondly, His opinion is based on the mythic story of Adam and Eve as to how men were first created and then women, (from the rib no less) of the first man Adam. The story is not literally true.
Paul makes Adam being created first a significant pecking order issue as to the differences between a man's authority and a woman's. The story of Adam and Eve is simply that, a story. You cannot take a myth, no matter what the context, to make up literally true rules.
The purpose of the story was to establish the fault of women for just about everything since time began and debunking goddess worship in the nations around Israel. The story is to promote Patriarchy in the form of Priests, Temples and Animal sacrifices as the way of Israel. The way of Matriarchy, as in the pagan nations worshipping fertility. agricultural phenomenon and the goddess was not going to be the way of Israel. This is the mentality of the Bronze and Iron Age and not the Computer and Space Age.
Thirdly, Paul makes the point that in his view and in the tale, Adam was not deceived. He was a total non-player, even in the story. The story actually reminds us that Adam was right there with Eve, but this is conveniently overlooked by Paul to make his opinion on the matter more valid and credible.
In reality, Adam evidently had a problem speaking up. At best, Adam was not in charge of the situation in the least. At worst, he was deceived equally "and did eat." They are both "transgressors" in this and equally. Paul downplays that reality so he can make his point and defend his position that woman are not to speak in church or sermonize. Paul had a personal problem with women in his life I suspect.
Genesis 3:6 "When the woman saw that the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eyes, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom, she took the fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it."
Paul graciously lets women off the hook of being at fault for everything by allowing them to be "saved" by having babies. He did not evidently find it to be helpful or encouraging to quote the actual verse outlining this process of salvation by baby bearing.
Genesis 3:1616To the woman he said, "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
How close women almost came to having painless and pleasurable childbirth! Thanks a lot Eve!
How convenient and ludicrous. In the story, Eve or no woman had yet given birth to another human, so it was evidently a convenient time to tell women that it would be painful and this is part of her punishment. I would like to suggest that had this story never been told, childbirth would probably still be painful but the reason would be simply because this kind of experience for a woman is painful.
It's kind of like the Jesuits showing up at an Indian village and announcing that if they did not turn over their land, they would make the Sun or the moon go dark. Knowing the timing of solar and lunar eclipses no doubt helped them along in this trickery. I would have loved to seen a knowledgeable tribe member tell them, "Ok, do it right now and we will, but if you fail, we'll burn you at the stake." "Yeah no...we gotta go"
Like Paul, Bob, that is merely your opinion, and have failed to tell the whole story.
So Women of the Church, If you would like to hear an hour and half of what Bob admits "might be a little controversial" and give the impression he's not quite sure himself about the topic, you will enjoy what your true "role" is.
Bob makes the poetic point that women "were not taken from the head of man to be over him nor from the feet to be trampled underfoot" as the nice quote goes, but from the rib as his equal, etc. The real reason women come from the rib of man is that men have lots of ribs and losing one is more because there are lots of them and won't be missed. Women weren't taken from fingers as one might need all ten along the way. Fingers are more significant than one of 24 ribs. So are men more than women.
When teaching anatomy in massage schools, I'd get to the anatomy of the rib cage and how breathing works and say "First of all we have 24 ribs...." Then I would wait. It was always a female student. Up goes the hand. "But men have one less right?" I'd say no but I understand where you get that from. They'd get upset because in church they were told the tale. My answer was that if I cut off your finger, your children would still have ten fingers at birth. And just counting modern-day man's ribs pretty much took care of the question. One said she was telling her dad what I said and I told her to have him call me if he'd like. (The "call me, let's reason together" is ever with me.) Dad must have chickened out. I admit I should not have said: "...and have him explain Santa to you too." It just slipped out.
The boys in Charlotte are scrambling to keep their members in line and that necessary money stream coming in. It seems that the Sheldon Monson fiasco is having a huge impact upon LCG as members flock to Monson and his webcast. Many in LCG are now switching feast sites in order to attend Monson's site.
The mask fiasco that Weston created has now led LCG to draw up 3 "study guides" for the few remaining faithful to examine as they try to recover from the "present distress" the church is now going through.
We have seen a lot of COG's do a lot of stupid things over the years, but this one makes LCG look absolutely ridiculous.
It's like watching a high school girl get all pissy when her boyfriend dumps her for someone better.
The longer COG's exist the more immature they act.
Church Administration Online Study Resources for Brethren
During this difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Church is faced with the challenge of making decisions about services and our weekly and Festival practices. As always, Church leadership looks to the inspiration of Jesus Christ and the laws and statutes of God to guide these decisions, not to mention a “multitude of counsel,” which has included the Council of Elders, Feast of Tabernacles Site Coordinators, and numerous field ministers. And the Church Headquarters leadership frequently revisits these decisions, looking for opportunities to move past this “present distress” and back to the normal services we all love.
As we move through this unprecedented time together, we want to make all brethren aware of study resources that may be helpful in light of the issues the Church is facing today.
The following study guides are available on the lcg.org website, by clicking on the “Bible Study” link:
Actually leaving your Church of Choice Church of God is difficult no matter what you actually feel inside. And, in reality, only you know exactly how you feel though even admitting that to yourself can take a long time.
When it comes to church and belief, we stay far longer than than when first we suspected or admitted, "This no longer serves me." We are programed to stay put. There are consequences real and imagined to stepping out on one's own. The Church has scriptural ammunition to shoot at you with. Leaving the group feels unnatural and in the past, to do so would threaten one's very survival in the real world alone. To even use the "Me" word, feels awkward, selfish and against all programing of "We" and "Us" the church provided you with over the years.
It was never "I am not divided. All one person ME". It is always "WE" and we sing those hymns, in part, to keep the program running and tuned weekly.
(Note: Church of God hymns weren't exactly designed to make us feel good about ourselves or confident that it was ok to do so. Even growing up Dutch Reformed were programed to "Trust and Obey. For there's NO OTHER WAY, to be happy in Jesus, but to Trust and Obey" Disturbing to say the least. )
Church was never designed to accommodate unbelief of its views. It is not designed to even recognize views of itself that might be less than true. It's certainly not designed for you to point them out. It is not designed for you to think about your own authenticity and feelings. It is not designed for the critical thinker nor the one given to introspection as to what seems right and what does not. Your church is designed to make you feel guilty and badly for hearing what you hear, seeing what you see and feeling how you feel about it all.
We learn to ignore the craziness we might hear from a pastor or the self appointed and remember, Ignore-ance is not just what we don't know, it's what we won't know.
"If your head tells you one thing and your stomach something else, your head is most likely lying to you."
The price for recognizing and finally admitting to yourself outwardly what you have known inwardly for a time is very high. It is not, might be high. It IS high and few there be that actually go there.
To many, if not most, going along to get along is the safer and less costly path. I know of those in the COG's who find this the best they are willing to do. I did it myself for a time. You'd not be alone in that either.
Going along to get along might have it's short term value as you think through how you REALLY feel about the drama, burden, beliefs and politic of your church and its leadership. But it is only of short term value. If it becomes "just how I am" and be untrue to what you really feel, it will gnaw until you go numb to it all.
It will feel like your feet are stuck in the mud and you can't really move, but, most of you can, as long as staying put is ok with you. That will feel good enough. That will be "OK", and you can hold the fear of change and self awareness at bay, maybe for just a little longer or maybe for the rest of your life. And if you do decide to actually move and get your feet out of the mud, as you see and feel it, you may have to step out of your expensive shoes and leave them behind in the mud.
You have invested so much. To walk away from what no longer inspires or serves you seems the ultimate defeat. We feel dis-illusioned like that's a bad thing. Who wants illusions? Well some do of course because it's easier and safer. But this is about you not them. What will everyone think of me? Will I retain my friends? Can I handle being alone in it all?
That's a decision only those stuck, and they know they are stuck, can make. Knowing when to hold them and when to fold them becomes the issue and one only the player can make.
A bit of encouragement here on the process of letting go, the price of doing so and learning not to care, when struggling with walking away from that which no longer serves you and you finally know it.
Yes, brethren, we know we have problems, but we are better than all the other COG's out there! So PLEASE stop holding us accountable for our sins and transgressions! It's ungodly! After all, David, Peter and Paul had problems, and look at how they turned out! God needs imperfect people to do his work!
Yes, brethren we know we screwed up with Sheldon Monson, so PLEASE bear with us during this DIFFICULT time. We are so tired of whiney people that go running to blogs and social media and expose our hypocrisy. God is going to hold them and you whiners accountable! So PLEASE stop looking for loose bricks in our crumbling walls of the church. We know it is in bad shape.
Loose Bricks or Big Picture? How do you view the Church of God and the Work of God? Many who come into contact with the Living Church of God are excited to learn the Truth of God for the first time. Others are grateful to reconnect with the Truth they once learned from the Scriptures, after a time away. Yet, from time to time, some, who are actually part of the very Church that is doing this Work, begin to look for loose bricks. They begin to compile lists of what they think are problems in the Church—editorial mistakes, misspoken words in a sermon, offenses caused by a minister or a member, doctrinal disagreements, or decisions they disagree with—and they drift off in different directions. However, we need to remember that David, Samuel, Peter, and Paul each had their problems, and they also had their detractors, yet God used these imperfect human beings to carry on His Work. The human leaders of God’s Work today are no different, and detractors have not disappeared. During challenging times, we need to maintain our focus on the God-given mission of His Church: preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom to the world (Mark 16:15), warning the world of end-time events (Matthew 24; Ezekiel 3 and 33), and preparing a people to reign with Jesus Christ in the coming Kingdom of God (Luke 1:17; Revelation 5:10). That message is going forth with increasing power from the Living Church of God publications, television programs, and Internet operations. This is the big picture that we need to keep in mind, instead of getting caught up looking for loose bricks.
God's only true end-time prophet is perturbed that most people call him a false prophet and other big bad meanie things.
Apparently, we have all been blinded by the god of this world to find fault with this most amazing human creature that has ever led a Church of God since the foundation of the world. For shame!!!!!! Never has the church had a more accurate prophet in its history!
So, yes, even others who have paid attention to what I believe I was led to write based upon my understanding of the Bible, can see that predictions have come to pass.
For some reason, Theil loves to drag Gaylyn Bonjour into his endless justification stream of nonsense.
Despite improper accusations from various ones on the internet that I am some type of a false prophet, to the best of my knowledge, I have never once posted a false prediction (and I do try to indicate when something is speculation), nor do those critics actually post any "false" predictions that I supposedly made and provide proof that even one was false. Thus, those who love the truth will not listen to their false dismissals. Furthermore, I did not anoint myself (Gaylyn Bonjour anointed me with oil) and am not self-ordained, but am God-ordained. Yet sadly, some so misunderstand the role of prophets in the New Testament that they would rather believe the lies about me than face the truth that the actual facts reveal.
Thiel is still perturbed that the Living Church of God has ignored all of his predictions and warnings. LCG refused to bow down to all of his demands that they change literature and teachings to conform to Thiel's non-existent or improperly trained exegesis methods.
While some have suggested that these numerous specified predictions were simply informed analyses as opposed to prophecies (and many likely were), I would add that I told LCG's Davy Crockett in August 2008, several weeks before Dr. Meredith had his first ministroke, that I believed that God was about to strike one of LCG's top leaders down (meaning likely Dr. Meredith) if LCG did not keep certain promises related to correcting literature, etc. And this happened to Dr. Meredith on September 19, 2008. Furthermore, I tried to meet with Dr. Meredith on December 19, 2011 to tell him that it seemed God was telling me that his wife was about to be struck with something serious. A few weeks later (per Dr. Meredith’s letter dated 1/12/12), Dr. Meredith reported that his wife (who was much younger than he) was stricken with stage four cancer (she later died on November 29, 2013). Those two predictions were not the result of news analytical skills on my behalf, but I believe were insights from God's Spirit.
Yet, instead of accepting that God moved me to state that Dr. Meredith's wife was about to be struck with something, and that being confirmed about four weeks later, someone made up the spin story that 'everyone knew Sheryl Meredith was gravely ill and that I would have known that when I said it.' That is wrong for at least two reasons: 1) I lived thousands of miles away from Charlotte and did not know the state of her health and 2) the stage four diagnosis did not happen until AFTER God moved me on this. Yet, many despise prophecies.
Thiel equates himself with Jesus when people tell him to make a real prophecy.
Oddly, some have challenged me to "prophesy" something on my own. Others tried to do that with Jesus (Mark 14:65; Matthew 26:68), but He ignored their requests. For other prophets, it simply does not work that way--"for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" (2 Peter 1:21). God must grant the prophecy, then the prophet states it. And as the last line of the previous paragraph shows, I did do that. Those who claim that I should be able to prophesy on according to my own, or their demands, are in conflict with the Bible. A true prophet speaks as God directs and when God directs. Jesus was repeatedly hit because He would not prophesy on demand (Mark 14:65; Matthew 26:68). Various ones insult me and/or consider me false for following His example this way.
Then he has this whopper of a lie.
Now, I cannot tell people when God will lead me to other prophetic insights. But my prophetic track record seems unparalleled in modern times. And yes, I accept the prophetic office I was ordained by God and anointed into. The fruits are there (cf. Matthew 7:16-20).
God no more anointed and ordained him as a prophet or as a Church of God leader than God ordained and appointed Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, Ron Weinland, Gerald Weston, and all the other false leaders out there.
Regardless of all the justification that Thiel streams out, he is still a false prophet and a liar that is deceiving brethren.
God's greatest gift to the church was James Malm, at least in his eyes. No one in all the COG's was trying to hold members accountable for their sinful wayward ways than James Malm. A legalist extraordinaire and a modern-day Pharisee, James led the way in vain attempts to strangle members with as much legalism as possible.
For many years, instead of working a normal job, James spent his entire day parked in front of his computer rewriting the Bible according to how he needed to see it. While suffering from medical issues at times, James depended upon his few acolytes that sent him money and the public assistance he got from the government in British Columbia, Canada.
After his sudden death, his son decided to set up a GoFundMe account in order to bring in $90,000. The claim was that the extraordinary amount of money would allow him to charter a boat and scatter James ashes at sea. So far, that fund is not drawing in money from James' followers and $90,000 is an unreachable goal.
Now it emerges that his son, who has no job but has relied upon public assistance (like James), is under threat by his siblings over his inheritance from James. One thing is for sure, COG families are the BEST!
Evolution, as normally pushed by academia and the media is not scientific. It is a seriously flawed model that breaks apart when people are willing to honestly look at its impossibilities and assumptions.
The Bible warns about false science:
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. (1 Timothy 6:20-21, KJV)
Yes, many falsely cling to what is falsely called science.
The Beast of Revelation as he heads into a planning session
on imprisoning COG members in concentration camps
and making them slaves to Europeans.
This has been a wild day in Church of Godland. God's one and only TRUE prophet is all atwitter with his CREEPY obsession with his intimate bro Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg.
It seems Guttenberg got a real Ph.D. recently (unlike the fake one from India that Bob Thiel has) and that is proof of Bible prophecy, particularly the Book of Daniel. Who knew!
COGwriter
A reader tipped me off to information which showed that Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg is once again a Ph.D.
Notice the following:
Plagiarism affair: Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg has again received his doctorate
The former federal minister earned a new doctorate from the University of Southampton …
The former Federal Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (CSU) claims to have again a doctorate. The former CSU politician, who resigned from the federal government in 2011 because of a plagiarism affair surrounding his earlier doctoral thesis, received his doctorate again and now has the title of Doctor of Philosophy, he told the newspapers of the Funke media group. He received his doctorate from the English University of Southampton.
Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg’ doctoral dissertation for the University of Southampton was titled “Agents, bills, and correspondents through the ages: an analytical reconsideration of the nature, scope, and significance of correspondent banking and its application in historical precedence and selected case studies.” Here is a link to an abstract (summary) of it: https://eprints.soton.ac.uk/435557
What happens next is our prophet of doom (or dumb, on how you look at it) claims this Ph.D. will be put to use as the Guttenberg rises in political power to take over Europe and throw members of the improperly named "continuing" Church of "god" into concentration camps. Oh, noes!!!!!!!!!!!
Irrespective of what may be reported about this, I believe that this will help Herr Guttenberg politically–when the time is right.
Interestingly, the Baron was considered to have had a major chance to become Chancellor of Germany before the plagiarism scandal. In that sense, he was “a man spurned and passed over for advancement” as THE MESSAGE version of Daniel 11:21 indicates.
KT Guttenberg is also a Habsburg/Hapsburg descendant.
The old Worldwide Church of God indicated that the Beast could be Habsburg/Hapsburg descendant. It also published:
The House of Habsburg will play a leading role in European affairs for centuries to come. The ideal of universal rule — unity under a single authority — is by no means dead. ( Stump KW. THE HISTORY OF EUROPE & THE CHURCH Part Five THE FIRST REICH. Plain Truth, November-December 1983).
Yes, the Beast power will use some type of AI. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg was, until last month, president of a firm heavily involved in it.
The Bible itself warns that a “prince” (Daniel 9:26-27) will become the “King of the North” (Daniel 11:31-40). So, since the Baron is a Habsburg descendant, he could well be considered as a prince, in a sense (but he is not generally officially considered to be royalty like a prince would be). And perhaps, he will only remain a prince. While he is not ruling over Europe at this time, he is influential there and seems to be taking steps related to European politics. He may well rise much further in time, with just a small number of supporters initially (cf. Daniel 11:23).
Here are eleven speculative predictions that Baron Guttenberg fulfilled after I posted and/or wrote about them:
He has advocated more European military cooperation.
He became unpopular for a time (and still is among many).
He ended up, for a time, outside of political office.
He went out of the limelight for a while.
He went into exile (self-imposed).
His exile was to a humid location.
People laughed at him.
He has partially re-emerged in European politics.
He has called for Germany to consider being a leader in data protection.
He now has a beard.
His involvement with Ripple, blockchain, banking, and AI could be setting him up to fulfill Revelation 13:15-18.
Then, in typical COG prophet double-talk, something COG prophets are really good at, the self-appointed wannabe ends with this:
Now just because he at least partially fulfilled those does not prove that he must be the final King of the North. But they certainly give me reason, combined with biblical and other prophetic sources to consider that he could fulfill that role or at least aid the one who will have it.
If Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg becomes involved with a future Middle East peace deal and he establishes some type of new religious “Catholic” order, then it could very well be that he could be the final King of the North. But even if he is not, we are certainly living in times where a powerful leader in Europe will rise up.
Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg could simply be a politician, like many others, that has problems. And all his intentions could be fine. We will see. But Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg does seem, to me at least, to be taking the types of steps that one who could possibly be the final King of the North would actually take. And his ability to gain popularity seems consistent with scripture.
It is important to remember that there are more than a dozen New Testament admonitions to watch and be alert to the signs of the times in the last days (see Matthew 24:42-44; 25:13; Mark 13:33-37; Luke 21:34-36; Acts 20:31; 1 Thessalonians 5:6, 20).
Herr Guttenberg is one to watch as he could be a factor in the rise of the European King of the North Beast power, even if he is not that individual himself.
Why are ALL of the prophet's of dumbdom in the Church of God such wimpy emasculated men of little integrity? Real prophets of God, in scripture, never minced their words and plainly and forcefully said what was to happen. There was no speculation, no dreaming, no "could be's", and no "may be's" anywhere in their messages. NOWHERE!
Yet, all of our self-appointed prophets of end-time goriness don't have the balls to make a definitive statement or hold anyone accountable. Instead, they cower behind holistic pill-pushing storefronts in Grover Beach, CA, in the ivory towers of Edmond, OK, Charlotte, NC, Wadsworth, OH, and in a dank basement in Cincinnati, OH; peddling idiotic and wimpy-ass predictions on how they want to see things happen. They pump put books and booklets galore documenting their idiocy.
For the past eighty-some years in the Church of God, we have never seen a real prophet ever make a prophecy that came true. No one single one.
Most of us realized it would only be a matter to time till Sheldon Monson branched out on his own and started a new splinter group. What else is a wayward COG minister to do when they leave or get kicked out of something that has controlled every aspect of their life? They know nothing else. While some men do leave and get real jobs and live fulfilled lives OUTSIDE of the COG, far too many of them end up being like Bob Thiel who thinks God is leading them into some kind of imaginary end-time work.
One thing is for sure, COG ministers are a rebellious lot who on one hand preach following government, and on the other, flip church government the middle finger whenever it doesn't fit their imagined paradigm. It has always been a matter of what's good for the member is never good for the minister.
The best thing about this is that we all know that the boys in the Living Church of God will NOT be happy! LCG deserves all of this right now. If Weston had not had a hissy fit and acted out in anger and had resolved this issue in a graceful loving Christian manner, then there probably would not be an issue. But then, when has COG leadership ever acted in a graceful loving Christian manner????
This was just sent to me:
Sheldon has officially set up his own feast site. The ink is dry in the hall rental. I’ll send details as soon as I have confirmation. I know that it’s MO but I’m not sure if it’s Lake Ozarks or Branson. He’s doing online festival registration and everything. I’m appalled that he’s doing this but we can’t really be surprised because this is what Armstrong people do. The only silver lining is that it will piss off LCG which pleases me lol. I
Sheldon Monson confirmed in his announcements during the Sabbath service on August 29th that he is starting a significant breakaway group from the Living Chuch of God, referring to the several hundred people watching online, and that “many of you are meeting in homes, some of you in church halls already.”
A Festival of Tabernacles venue has been organized at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake of the Ozarks, Osage Beach, Missouri. He said that the meeting space booked will hold up to 900 people, and they would not have to wear masks and could sing.
The situation outside the meeting hall is different. The Resort’s Health & Safety Update, August 11th, states: “Face coverings will be required for all guests and team members age two years and older in our indoor public spaces and common areas.
Due to our concern for public health and the well-being of our guests and associates, we have adjusted our normal operations in order to promote social distancing.”
