That's why I love to go down Dave Pack's sermon listing. Will never find Jesus in a title. You might find Christ and you will always find Dave and 7 ways to, 21 things that, 44 reasons for, 65 ideas of, and 99 important facts you must know.....style.
Truly...I don't think I have ever quite seen a sermon like this before, well maybe in the 80's but nothing quit like this one that you will hear today....Prepare to be amazed, dazzled, frozen in your seat and generally bored to death...

This post and these comments are so funny because they're so on-the-money.
Being an advertising "idea man," HWA was basically a P.T. Barnum. In order to sell seats, you have to move people. And in order to move people you have to tap into powerful emotional drives such as fear and sex. HWA must have really patted himself on the back when he figured out he could self-righteously use scripture to explain why all the literature was free. He was no dummy, he knew that FREE is one of the most powerful words in advertising. No one ever charges for promotional or recruitment materials. Of course the literature is not free, is just that it makes good sense not to charge up front. If the literature does its job, you'll be paying for it (and the lavish lifestyles of those who produced it) until the end of time.
Once you've hooked them with FREE, since sex is taboo, then all that's left is the FEAR of G.I.Jesus returning with guns blazing, Great White Thrones of JUDGMENT, and lakes of fiery brimstone with your name on them.
Grace just doesn't work the same magic to keep people from straying from your little Ponzi "fold."
And little Davey Pack using such obvious P.T. Barnum hucksterism is just ridiculous. He might as well be pushing little bottles of snake oil, tonics, and potions from a little horse-drawn wagon. Do people still fall for such antiquated songs and dances? He has HWA mimicry down to a fine art.

I'm afraid they do. There are a whole bunch of very successful hucksters out there with mega churches who are laughing and doing a jig all the way to the bank.

When you stop to think about it, the ACOGs only understand approximately 2/3 of God in the first place. Some who leave even reject another 1/3 by also denying that Jesus is God.
This is why they have their cruel and authoritarian government from the top down, and engulf themselves in all of the legalism. That's all they're left with, desperately trying to "qualify", worrying each day that they might lose their salvation, yet at the same time thinking they are some sort of unique elite group. It's enough to make your head spin, or to induce a steroidal level of paranoia!

Wow claims that HWA and others are false teachers (con artist) but no scriptural proof to show where they are wrong. The religious leaders in Jesus day never disproved Jesus or the apostles they just made false emotional claims. When you can't disprove someone attack them, call them names but don't logically show where they are wrong.
