Self-righteous narcissism
Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before! With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.
It's another day in our crazy world and the Church of God. Our favorite self-appointed prophet and savior to the African continent has posted one of the most idiotic things possible in the last couple of days.
The Great Bwana to Africa and leader of 299 caucasian members, worldwide, has posted a story about how "pride" is causing COG members and ex-members from recognizing him as a true prophet of God.
The holistic pill peddling Dr. Thiel also drags out Norm Edwards as a legitimate source of information about pride. Norm, as you may recall, set himself up as the great preserver of truth that he supposedly received under Herbert Armstrong. Norm's theology is as skewed and erroneous as Bob Thiel's and Dave Pack's and should not be considered "truth" by anyone. Norm was also one of the failures on the board of Global Church of God where he and the rest of the inept board members led to the demise of the GCG and the formation of Living Church of God. He also set up a community in Point Austin, MI that turned out to a total disaster with backstabbing, property theft, lawsuits, and more. If any of you remember Homer Kizer, he is the one who went after Edwards. The community Edwards set up for recovering addicts always had problems and was always in financial straits due to the fact that none of the COG groups supported him and very few members did. Port Austin is now being used to house Puerto Rican employees of Huron Casting.
Prophet Bob quotes Edwards to prop his crown up with this:
"With dozens of New Testament Scriptures explaining and encouraging the ongoing prophecy in the New Testament and with no scriptures clearly declaring its end, one must conclude that prophets and prophecy are something that God wants for His Church today!""In this 21 st century, most who call themselves Christian neither observe the Sabbath nor seek prophets or prophecies in their congregations. A few teach and practice one or the other. Only a tiny fraction accepts both.
The single biggest difficulty in acquiring any truth, no matter how valuable, is overcoming our own human pride. It is very difficult to accept that we have been wrong about something for many years— especially when we have been right on other things. The lessons of the books of Kings and Chronicles come to mind. Each king’s life is frequently summed up in a single statement— explaining what he did right and where he fell short. If we hunger and thirst for God as King David did (Psalm 63:1; 107:9), we can receive all that he has for us—and obtain a good report (Acts 22:12; Hebrews 11:2, 39)."
"Finally, for members of a church group with a doctrinal statement that is decades or centuries old, growth is rarely quick or even possible. Both religious and civil leaders struggle with prophets today for the same reason they did in the Old and New Testaments. The prophets speak for God, not for the religious or civil leaders of the day. People who always prophesy what the leaders want are probably false prophets.
This writer heard a church leader put forth this argument against prophets in the church: “If there are real prophets today, then we could ask them and know for sure when Christ will come back. But the Bible says that no man knows that time, so there cannot be prophets today.” We should never underestimate God. He is quite able to not answer the questions we do not need answered now. Jesus already explained this leader’s question:
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:6-8)."
"One of the most dangerous things we can do is begin thinking we already have everything important (Revelation 3:17-19). We must forever be humble before God and realize that He is bringing about His will. He is not there to back up our will or the policies of our church group. He also knows when is the right time to teach each truth to each person. Even Jesus could not teach His apostles everything at once:
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12)."
Bobiniah Bob continues with more quotes from Edwards (you can read them all here) and then adds this to supposedly impress us with his ungodly self-appointment:
Norman Edwards was the editor for Shepherd’s Voice magazine. He is not part of the Continuing Church of God, where, I function as its human leader (and am an ordained prophet; the only known such ordained prophet in any legitimate Church of God group).
While Norman Edwards and I have long disagreed about aspects of church governance and various matters of doctrine, we both agree that many who are in or claim to be in the Church of God (COG) wrongly do not accept that God has any prophets today and that Laodicean pride gets in the way. We also agree that most have severe difficulty identifying one who really is a prophet because of various unscriptural biases and improper criteria that they have.
Some will come up with their preferred rationale as why not to agree with the position of the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) on these matters. Yet not only is CCOG’s position biblical, it should be noted that leaders in the Living Church of God and/or the United Church of God confirmed to me personally that I was biblically correct on all the above points, despite the fact that their respective churches hold to several of the errors pointed out above. Those who rely too much on a compromised ministry (Ezekiel 34:7-10) to teach them prophecy that is not truly in accordance with scripture need to realize that according to Jesus’ words in Revelation 2 & 3 and Luke 21, only relatively few Christians will be protected from the hour of trial that will come upon the whole world.
As Norman Edward’s article points out, it is scriptural to now have prophets according to the New Testament. But many who truly believe that they live by the word of God have discounted or overlooked what the Bible actually teaches and/or have been influenced by others who have done the same or worse. The COG has at least one demonstrably true prophet today, yet most in the greater COG world seem to be able to ignore the truth about that, like most ignored John the Baptist and others in their day.
Pride is a bigger problem for Christians than most realize.
Bobiniah Thiel is right about one thing though:
Christians are to flee during the Great Tribulation,
where might the place into the wilderness be?
"Are some of God’s people actually going to flee right before the tribulation?
According to Jesus, the answer is yes.
Jesus taught:
20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:20-21, NKJV throughout, unless otherwise indicated).
Let this be perfectly clear, there are two groups of God’s people mentioned in Revelation 12–one which goes to a place of safety and one which does not. It states:
14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:14-17).
The above shows that the church (symbolized by a woman) will “fly into the wilderness to her place.” Being in heaven with Jesus is not the same as being in any wilderness–hence this is not some type of “rapture” as many Protestants believe in. Also notice that the church “is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.” Hence, this is how Jesus is intending to keep His Philadelphia Christians “from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world” (Revelation 3:10). This “hour of trial,” this “time and times and half a time” includes the period of the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.
Notice also that since a flood of water is used to try to destroy the church, but is helped by the earth, that the church is NOT in heaven,..."
I only bring this up again as Bobus is bringing the topic of "Fleeing" up again. Like Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry and himself, the topic of "Fleeing" is probably one the most dangerous romps around the scriptures, taking them out of time and context and cobbling them into a teaching that will have dire consequences for anyone so inclined.
I'll briefly and again show you where the author of Revelation got his tall tale about what he "saw" in vision. He saw the night sky from which many tales in the Bible are put together. Night Flix we might say.
I would add Revelation 12
The Woman and the Dragon12 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
It is another fun day in paradise! Woo Hoo! Banned just had another sermon preached about how evil we all are! We are used to this as we have already dealt with Rod Meredith telling his followers to not read this blog, which incidentally caused a huge spike in readership that continues to this day. But now, we have one of the greatest ministers God has ever chosen in the history of the church preach ANOTHER video sermonette about this blog.
The one and only doubly-blessed and perpetually butt-hurt prophet of God, Bob Thiel, whom the world has dreamed about, recently became infuriated with us after we published some comments sent in about his so-called evangelists and church hopping members in Africa.
Imagine if you will that God has set you apart from the rest of humanity and the entirety of Christendom to be the one chosen vessel of the wisdom of God and that it is your duty to inform the wayward Church of God members the exact moment they need to flee to Petra or some other "place of safety". Imagine what it would feel like to have God send dreams to your amazing brain and into the minds of other people around the world to CONFIRM your legitimacy as the one true prophet of God. Imagine what it would feel like to have ministers of the church lay hands upon you and pour out a double blessing on your head that sets you apart from the rest of the ministry in the entire Church of God movement and of the entirety of Christiandom. Imagine if you can, that you are the world's foremost historian on the Mayans, Catholicism, church history, and the ONLY source of true doctrine left on the earth today.
After imagining all of that, wouldn't you be emboldened and feel powerful as a true warrior of God? Imagine how the prophets of old felt when they were boldly speaking out to religious and secular leaders of the day. Do you think they felt perpetually butt-hurt by every bit of criticism that was thrown at them?
After imagining these powerful men (and a few women) standing up with truth to power, imagine what it feels like to be a small-time naturopathic pettifogger trying to run God's most amazing church out of a little storefront on the central coast of California and as one who spends his days, while ignoring his family, searching the internet for things to complain about. Get the picture?
Bob Thiel is the ultimate cockalorum and snollygoster in the Church of God today. After trying so hard to be an obsequious follower of Rod Meredith and then having that rug pulled out from under him Thiel has been on the ultimate quest to make himself look important to the rest of us. Which incidentally, is NOT something that any prophet of God ever did. Fake ones certainly did though.
Living Church of God members soundly rejected him and refused to follow him when he started his little group. Church members from across the entire COG movement have soundly rejected him. Thiel is a peddler of spiritual junk food.
12-15 And I’m not changing my position on this. I’d die before taking your money. I’m giving nobody grounds for lumping me in with those money-grubbing “preachers,” vaunting themselves as something special. They’re a sorry bunch—pseudo-apostles, lying preachers, crooked workers—posing as Christ’s agents but sham to the core. And no wonder! Satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful angel of light. So it shouldn’t surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants of God. But they’re not getting by with anything. They’ll pay for it in the end.
Deuteronomy 18:20-22
20 “But any prophet who fakes it, who claims to speak in my name something I haven’t commanded him to say, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.”
21-22 You may be wondering among yourselves, “How can we tell the difference, whether it was God who spoke or not?” Here’s how: If what the prophet spoke in God’s name doesn’t happen, then obviously God wasn't behind it; the prophet made it up. Forget about him.
“Don’t listen to the sermons of the prophets.
It’s all hot air. Lies, lies, and more lies.
They make it all up.
Not a word they speak comes from me.
They preach their ‘Everything Will Turn Out Fine’ sermon
to congregations with no taste for God,
Their ‘Nothing Bad Will Ever Happen to You’ sermon
to people who are set in their own ways.
Then God said, “These preachers are liars, and they use my name to cover their lies. I never sent them, I never commanded them, and I don’t talk with them. The sermons they’ve been handing out are sheer illusion, tissues of lies, whistlings in the dark.
You’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They’ll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But you—keep your eye on what you’re doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God’s servant.
For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
God, the Master, pronounces doom on the empty-headed prophets who do their own thing and know nothing of what’s going on! Your prophets, Israel, are like jackals scavenging through the ruins. They haven’t lifted a finger to repair the defenses of the city and have risked nothing to help Israel stand on God’s Day of Judgment. All they do is fantasize comforting illusions and preach lying sermons. They say ‘Godsays . . .’ when God hasn’t so much as breathed in their direction. And yet they stand around thinking that something they said is going to happen.
“I never sent these prophets, but they ran anyway. I never spoke to them, but they preached away. If they’d have bothered to sit down and meet with me, they’d have preached my Message to my people. They’d have gotten them back on the right track, gotten them out of their evil ruts.
You may be wondering among yourselves, “How can we tell the difference, whether it was God who spoke or not?” Here’s how: If what the prophet spoke in God’s name doesn’t happen, then obviously God wasn't behind it; the prophet made it up. Forget about him.
I'd like to leave Bob with one thought...but I'm not sure he'd have anywhere to put it.
The other day we reported some things that came to us by a person that had information about Thiel's African evangelist who apparently is converting half of the continent into the amazing "continuing" Church of God. This whipped the doubly blessed Elijah Amos Habbakuk Thiel into a prophetic frenzy. How dare we criticize his ministry or any of the things he does. How dare we! Oh wait, I know...we are tools of Satan himself who are deliberately trying to destroy the one true church which is doing the biggest worldwide work the Church of God has seen in human history.
First, before going further, let it be pointed out that I have NEVER said, written, nor posted that CCOG is the only church doing a work. I have written that we of the CCOG are the only Philadelphian organization, other COGs do various types of works, there are Philadelphians in other COGs, and just being in CCOG does not, of itself, make one a Philadelphian. Yet, Banned cannot seem to even get that right.
Notice his "Philadelphia" keyword that sets him apart as the one true church doing the one true work. He is Philadelphian and all of the others are either Sardis or Laodicean groups who don't know the true timeline of prophecy so that they will know when to flee. Never has the COG had a name player like Thiel. Duplicity and waffling are his favorite methods of play-acting as the greatest leader the church has ever seen.
Bwana then goes on to take great umbrage at the fact his African followers do not consider him a prophet. Notice how he waffles his answer and never denies that they do not think he is a prophet. It's all about how he is so much better than the Living Church of God and how many magazines he is publishing in different languages.
That is another lie–it is not that no one may have told Banned that lie, but the statement just is not true. Consider that groups such as LCG spend more money in Kenya than CCOG does. Yet, we have probably over 10 x the number of congregants in Africa Kenya than they do. If people wanted money there are other groups who spend more money in Africa than CCOG does. One thing that CCOG does that most other COG groups have not done is produce literature in local languages, such as Luo, Kiswahili, and Ekegusii. People in places like Kenya appreciate having the truth available in languages other than English–yes it is helpful for the the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to be preached throughout the world (Matthew 24:14) in numerous languages. But the idea that people in Kenya could have interest in the truths that the CCOG teaches is something that then anti-COG types do not wish to accept–instead they prefer to promote lies.
The Great Bwana then quotes Jesus as if he actually follows the guy:
Jesus prophesied:
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Matthew 5:10-12)
And here we go again...PERSECUTION!
Brethren, we are being persecuted!
It is a sign of the end times.
Satan is angry and Christ warned us this would be happening to us.
It's not only those of us here at Banned and its readers who are persecuting the Great Bwana, but The Painful Truth website is doing Satan's work too! Ghastly days!
Those at Banned, the Painful Truth, and various other places have regularly been fulfilling that prophecy and saying all kinds of things falsely against me and CCOG.
What people at Banned and the other anti-COG sites cannot stand is the idea that the true ministry is having success and is not in it for the money. The fact that my wife and I do not take a salary from CCOG grates on them as it is opposed to the lying narrative they wish to believe. While commandment keepers are to be rewarded, scripture warns about those who believe and love lies:
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:14-15)
Here is a short version for what happened: In November 2011, both LCG minister Dr. Jeff Fall and LCG minister Gary Ehman told me that I did NOT need to have hands laid upon me in order to be a true prophet of God. Yet, I told them that something like that needed to happen for me to accept it. And in November/December 2011, I prayed that if I truly had a prophetic role from God that He would have something happen during a planned mid-December 2011 trip to Charlotte, North Carolina to confirm it or deny it if that were His will. As it turned out, on 12/15/2011 hands were laid upon me in Charlotte by LCG minister Gaylyn Bonjour, who I had not even intended to see then (I had asked to see Gary Ehman, but as it turned out, he was not in the Charlotte office due to an unexpected illness). After seeing Gaylyn Bonjour mentioning some health issues and wisdom, he laid hands on me, and specifically prayed that I would be granted a “double-portion” of God’s Holy Spirit, and he anointed me with oil. Afterwards, Gaylyn told me that he had not ever requested a “double portion’ of God’s Spirit before on anyone, but he felt that it was reminiscent of the time that the prophetic and ecclesiastical leadership mantle passed from the Prophet Elijah to Elisha (2 Kings 2:9-13). Gaylyn Bonjour had been unaware that I had prayed that God would have me anointed or somehow identified for a prophetic role on that mid-December 2011 trip if that were His plan for me and I had never discussed my possible prophetic role with him prior to this anointing. On 12/18/12, I asked Gaylyn Bonjour if he knew what he may have unintentionally done and he said yes. This 12/15/11 anointing appears to be the first biblically-appropriate prophetic anointing in the Church of God in many decades, if not many, many multiple centuries. And the legitimacy of this anointing has been proven by subsequent events–though many do not seem to understand how God works at times.
He then goes on to state that his place as a prophet in the church came about because he had visions about Rod Meredith's wife and how this is proof he is a prophet.
As it also turned out, I tried to meet with Dr. Meredith on December 19, 2011 to tell him that it seemed God was telling me that his wife was about to be struck with something serious. A few weeks later (per Dr. Meredith’s letter dated 1/12/12), Dr. Meredith reported that his wife (who was much younger than he) was stricken with stage four cancer (she later died on November 29, 2013). That prediction was not the result of analytical skills on my behalf, but I believe were insights from God’s Spirit.
In my view, the unexpected ‘double-portion anointing, Gaylyn Bonjour’s comments about the mantle passing, and my feeling led to tell of something about to hit Sheryl Meredith, were the result of God answering my prayers in November/December 2011 that the prophet matter would be confirmed or denied in Charlotte with my December 2011 trip. Essentially, this was THREE confirmations.
Let this be clear, I was absolutely anointed, had hands laid over me, and the LCG minister who did so prayed that I would receive a ‘double-portion’ of God’s Holy Spirit, and afterwards that same minister (Gaylyn Bonjour) stated that this was reminiscent of the mantle passing from Elijah to Elisha (Gaylyn Bonjour also brought up the passing of the mantle related to this when we spoke on March 23, 2012). The fact that he did not originally intend to pray that I receive a ‘double-portion’ of God’s Holy Spirit is of no consequence, as the Bible shows that although Isaac had not intended to provide certain blessings to Jacob, once Isaac laid hands upon Jacob and gave the prayer, the anointed blessing would remain according to the Bible (Genesis 27)–and Gaylyn Bonjour concurs with this. Let it be noted that unlike Jacob, I did not employ any deceit in the anointing.
Furthermore, understand that I believe that I do have the appropriate prophetic fruits that Jesus discussed (Matthew 7:15-20) and that those truly interested in the truth can see this if they truly wish to prayfully look into this. Perhaps it should be mentioned that while some question my ordination, others have also had concerns about God’s anointing and ordinations (2 Kings 9:1-11; Jeremiah 43:2; Genesis 27:26-37). God does not always do things the way humans think He does (cf. Isaiah 55:8-9).
The Bwana Bob finally makes a truthful statement:
Gary Leonard does not want to accept that I have the fruits of a prophet and meet the biblical and COG criteria for that.
Absolutely! There is no way on God's green earth that Theil is a prophet of God. That I can state as a fact. Pigs will be flying and rats dancing when I ever believe that nonsense. Plus, the so-called COG criteria for prophet is as pathetic as Bob's claims. The Church of God has never produced a real prophet in the last 80 some years of the church and Thiel is NOT one for the end times. That I can state as a fact again.
From a reader:
A source in Kenya confirms that the attendees don't consider Bob to be a prophet, but only attend for the money. One can hardly blame them considering how impoverished they are. I'm still not clear how active Evans is with each of the groups. He seems to burn bridges along the way.
Goff Weighs In Bill Goff 5/2/2014 There have been numerous reports concerning my relationship with Bob Thiel’s group called “Continuous COG”, most of which are false reports. For one, I did not help fund Bob Thiel’s trip to Kenya, or “rush to Kenya” to assess the situation. My stand concerning incorporated COG groups who continuously try to draw the brethren into their carnal organizations, and lord over them, has not changed since I first put my feet on the ground in Kenya back in 2005. I am totally against such behavior. Below is a message I sent on March 15, 2014 to Evans Ochieng (Bob Thiel’s new representative in Kenya.) Following my letter is a statement to the Kenya/Tanzania brethren concerning what actions need to be taken to avoid being led astray by the confusion that carnal men continuously bring into God’s church. First, my letter to Evans Ochieng, which I sent to him one week before Bob Thiel’s trip to Nairobi, Kenya. (I was not informed by Ochieng beforehand that Bob was planning to hold a meeting with numerous leaders from around Kenya. Although I had been working with Ochieng for some time, he kept this meeting, and all the preparations that he himself was making for it, from me.) “Evans, I am very concerned about your connecting to Bob Thiel. I feel you have not been honest with me. For one, you told me that Bob was meeting with you for 3 days in Nairobi. But later found out that the meeting included many leaders from around Kenya/Tanzania, with you on top of Thiel's operation in Kenya. You were not honest with me concerning this matter. Also, Bob Thiel teaches many doctrines that I do not agree with, in fact many doctrines that I preach very strongly against, like believing that his group is the Philadelphians, Christ's little flock. (Just like the rest of the hierarchies like to teach concerning their groups) All this is deception to the brethren, and I will have no part of it. I'm going to stick with sincerity & truth and not going to play church games likes many false & deceived men who consider themselves "ministers" like to do. I may not have silver or gold, but I do have truth, and I will not compromise it. Please stop telling brethren that Bill Goff and Bob Thiel are together, because we're are not. “Now If you want to represent Bob and his beliefs, that's your choice, and I will have no ill will towards you, But I will not participate in church games that consist of trying to get the brethren to join “their particular group” with all the jockeying for positions. Did not the Apostle Paul speak of this very nonsense as being carnal when he wrote to the Corinthians? “For you are yet carnal: for as there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; and another Cephas; are ye not carnal? Is Christ divided? Was Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or Bob crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?” (1Corinthians 1:12; 3:4)” Let us not be confused over this matter, Brethren. I encourage God’s entire Household to remember that God's True Church (His true “Little Flock”) is a Spiritual organization and everyone who has been baptized and had hands laid on them is part of it, as long as they remain faithful to God by walking in the spirit in all of His ways. Don't follow men, follow God. It’s okay to listen to men's teachings, but don't swallow all their sayings without chewing first. (Most of these “leaders” have their own personal agendas, which are contrary to God.) Treat men’s words (all men’s words) like you do your chicken when eating KuKu, chew first, swallow only the meat, and be sure to spit out the bones. (1Thessalonians 5:21, Acts 17:11, 2Timothy 2:15) Let us (the members of God’s church) get our priorities straight, because our Lord & Savior is soon to return to this earth, and He will be presenting to Himself a glorious church, those who have “purified themselves” - those not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but who are holy and without blemish. Put your trust in God, Brethren, and not in any carnal man. Follow Christ; listen to His voice only, because following men will always lead you to the ditch. The Scriptures tell us “Cursed be the man who puts his trust in men.” (Ephesians 5:27, John 10:27, Jeremiah 17:5) Polepole Brethren, let us always remember that entrance into the Kingdom of God is not determined by which incorporated church group one associates with, but by one’s behavior, by one’s actions. One must be a “Sheep” to receive from God the free gift of eternal life. One must develop the Holy Righteous Character of the Father. Make no mistake about it, “GOATS” will not be there, nor will the unrighteous, or any transgressors of God’s way. (Matthew 25:31-46, 1John 3:1-3.) Brethren, do not be deceived by the many false men who claim to be of Christ, and have deceived many into thinking that there are hundreds of splinter groups out there to choose between. Don’t be deceived brethren, because in God’s eyes, there are only “two” groups. Yes, two groups in His church (not hundreds). Two groups, the “Wise” and the “Foolish”. The Wise are making themselves ready for the return of their Lord & Master, and will soon meet Him and go into the marriage. But the door into the marriage will be shut to the foolish. Let us wake up, let us make our calling and election sure. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to us. Let us cleanse our hands, and purify our hearts, because He is coming quickly, and His reward is with Him to give every man according to his works. Not according to which incorporated church group he fellowships with, but according to his works. (Matthew 25:1-13, 2Peter 1:1-12, James 4:8. Revelation 22:12) bill Goff |
This just in from Africa...
What we all have known for several years now is that Bob Thiel, the Great Bwana to Africa, has been a useful tool for some of his African leaders who have been using him along with other COG groups. They have a long history of doing this in addition to getting what they can from the Seventh Day Adventists.
Ochieng is supposedly Thiel's top "evangelist". If he is Thiel's official evangelist, does that make him an evangelist for the other COG groups too? But, since Thiel claims his group is the ONLY true church doing a work today, how does he justify Ochieng spending his valuable evangelistic time with the other groups?
Thought you would find this of interest. Bob Thiel's man in Africa, Evans Ochieng, works for any church he can. Currently, he works for these:1. Midnight Ministries- Malcolm B Heap2. Church of God In Truth and Peace- James Russel3. A Voice In The Wilderness Church of God- Bill Goff4. Continuing Church of God- Bob Thiel
Who in their right mind would sit and listen to this trash and think it is godly worship? Once more, Jesus gets dumped on the trash heap out behind the homeopathic pill-pushing low-level prophets' amazing HQ. This shows exactly what a cesspool Armstrongism has turned into. Does ANYONE in 2020 care about such crap, especially his African followers? These topics are of ZERO concern to his followers or the rest of humanity.
In this sermon, Dr. Thiel answers questions that have been submitted to the Church of God on many topics, such as:
What about making/receiving organ donations?
Should you chew tobacco?

This website is dedicated to identifying that there will be a nuclear attack in Nashville, Tennessee on July 18, 2020. This reality is based on prophetic revelations from the Bible. These revelations identify that Islam will be the power responsible for accomplishing the attack.
The message of warning that is derived from the Bible is established on the rules of interpretation that are identified within the Bible itself. For this reason, some time will be spent setting forth those rules so that the authority behind this message is recognized to be fully derived from and based on God's Word.
In conjunction with identifying certain principles of biblical interpretation, we will identify the prophetic players and subjects that are involved with the attack in Nashville. Some of the subjects will be linked to more detailed presentations on this website. Those subjects and players include Donald Trump, the forty-fifth and final president of the United States of America; the USA as represented in Bible prophecy; the Roman Catholic Church; the United Nations; Russia, including its current leader Vladimir Putin; the Seventh-day Adventist Church; Ellen White and the history of the nuclear attacks on Japan in 1945.You can read the entire thing here.
Tennessean apologizes, launches investigation after 'horrific' ad runs in print editions
The Tennessean is investigating how a paid advertisement from a fringe religious group was published on Sunday in violation of the newspaper’s long-established standards.
The ad featured a bizarre, pseudo-religious “prophecy,” including the declaration of an impending nuclear attack in Nashville by “Islam.”
The ad was immediately ordered to be pulled from future editions by sales executives and the investigation launched. A similar ad, one that did not mention Islam but also contained an end-times prophecy, published in the newspaper on June 17.
The newspaper’s advertising standards clearly forbid hate speech. Advertisements that do not meet the paper’s standards are routinely rejected for publication.
Kevin Gentzel, President of Marketing Solutions and Chief Revenue Officer for Gannett, parent company of The Tennessean, forcefully repudiated the advertisement in a tweet on Sunday.
Notice something Gary Leonard posted yesterday:
When has the church ever had a modern-day prophet in its midst? Every single self-appointed prophet has been proven to be a certified liar. Not one thing they have said has ever come true, and this includes Bob Thiel. (Ron Weinland: “I am the last apostle for the Church of God in this final age of mankind” June 20, 2020)
While Gary Leonard tries to lump me in with people like CGPKG’s Ron Weinland, PCG’s Gerald Flurry, and until his death, James Malm. All of whom were self-appointed in the prophetic realm and all of whom clearly made false prophecies. The reality is that I am not self-appointed, nor a certified liar, plus predictions I have had have certainly come to pass. I have not been false–this fact (plus the fact I do not take a salary from CCOG) goes against the paradigms that people like Gary Leonard have. And in his case, result in him repeatedly posting falsehoods that the uninformed (as well as those who prefer to believe a lie) accept.Bwana Bob claims Satan is behind people not believing him and associating him with other lying COG false prophets, like Weinland, Malm, Flurry, and Pack.
Satan has long improperly used ‘guilt by association’ as a means to get people to not pay sufficient attention to the truth. Jesus, for example was “was numbered with the transgressors” (Luke 22:37), plus He taught that His opponents said He was “a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!” (Luke 7:34). Sadly, most professing Christians today are lukewarm and falsely feel it is ‘safer’ to not accept anyone could be a prophet, which is contrary to end time and other scriptures.
Perhaps it should be pointed out that Gary Leonard calls me a liar, not because I have ever posted a lie, but because he cannot accept testimony about what happened with me on the prophet matter to be acceptable to him. Nor does he accept that God used dreams like the Bible prophesies. That is his loss, but that does not make me a liar.
I as NOT self-appointed. Nor did I ask for anything like being anointed for a double-portion of God’s spirit.Yes, he is! The more he tries to prove his self-appointed as something miraculous the bigger fool he looks. Gaylyn Bonjour had absolutely no intention of doubly blessing Bwana Bob to be a church leader. Bonjour rejected that Idea as did Rod Meredith.
Essentially, this was THREE confirmations.Whoa boy, the excuses are getting deeper! Still self-appointed though.
The fact that he did not originally intend to pray that I receive a ‘double-portion’ of God’s Holy Spirit is of no consequence, as the Bible shows that although Isaac had not intended to provide certain blessings to Jacob, once Isaac laid hands upon Jacob and gave the prayer, the anointed blessing would remain according to the Bible (Genesis 27)–and unlike Jacob, I did not employ any deceit in the anointing.Bwana Bob claims he has "prophetic fruits." Just another in a long line of false prophets that have hit the church over the last 80 some years. Every single one of them has been liars.
Gary Leonard does not want to accept that I have the fruits of a prophet and meet the biblical and COG criteria for that. How can I accept any of the lies of Bwana Bob as true when as a Christ denier he preaches useless nonsense that no Christian ever needs to worry about. Until he dumps every single myth of Herbert Armstrong, including the racist British Isrealism crappoloa and embraces the New Covenant, he CANNOT and WILL NOT be trusted by any real Christian. It simply can not happen.
COVID and Brexit Driven by Demons?Could Satan or any of his demons be impacting the economy of the world and Europe through having both the coronavirus outbreak and the British Exit (Brexit) from the European Union? Did governments tend to react in a way causing ‘self-inflicted’ damage to the economy? What about actions from the European Central Bank? Has demonic involvement been asked by the German press? Does the Bible teach that Satan is the god of this age and that the world is under his sway? Will involvement from Satan and his demons lead to the rise of the Beast, False Prophet (Antichrist), and the gathering at Armageddon according to scriptures in the Book of Revelation? What event did the late Worldwide Church of God Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong feel would trigger the prophesied unification of Europe under the Beast? What about ‘miracles,’ signs, and lying wonders? What did Jesus say that Christians should do? What about prayer and the kingdom of God? Will you fall for Satan’s lies and deception? Dr. Thiel discusses each of these matters and more.It has always fascinated me on how much more powerful COG demons are compared to the almost nonexistent and powerless Christ they claim to follow.
