A Father Writes Letter to His Children in the Dangerous Philadelphia Church of God Cult: "Tell my children I love them."

The following is a letter that a man on Facebook who has written to his children who are members of the Philadelphia Church of God personality cult.  Gerald Flurry, the leader of the Philadelphia Church of God, has a long and deadly history of enforcing the vile polices that he has created to keep his members under control.  PCG members have committed suicide over these policies, parents have thrown teenage children out on the street, parents have turned their backs on the children and children have turned against their parents.  One family was even encourage to take their disabled child to the mall and abandon him so that the State could take care of him.

Gerald Flurry has long held himself up as the Elijah to come and God's personal representative on earth today.  If Flurry was truly an Elijah then he would be doing the following COMMAND from God:

5"Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. 6"He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse." Malachi 4:5-6
Or

Luke 1:17
And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
Here is what Dan Moffett wrote to The Edmond Life and Leisure Facebook  page:

I'm going to post it on as many Edmond and OK city pages I can find, and send it to the local news papers

Tell my children I love them.

I wish I could hear from them on Father's day.

I haven't heard from them in 3 years. They are in the Philadelphia Church of God. A controlling cult that cuts children off from parents and parents from children. The dictatorial leader Gerald Flurry has issued an edict that says members can have NO contact with family members that are not in the church. Members have committed suicide because of this evil family destroying ruling.

My oldest son Nathan Moffett and my youngest daughter Elise Moffett are in the cult and have been prevented form contacting me, my youngest son, my daughter and granddaughters. The cult has destroyed my family.

When my oldest daughter and her family were told that they could have no contact with me and when they were told I was not allowed to see my granddaughter, they left the cult.

When you attend events at Armstrong Auditorium you support the family destroying cult. They don't allow interracial dating or even dancing. They believe they are God's ONLY TRUE Church and Gerald Flurry is THAT PROPHET, he is THE APOSTLE, god on earth.

TELL MY CHILDREN I LOVE THEM, PLEASE!"

LCG Claims Disfellowshipments and Markings Are Therapeutic

Did you know that when LCG or any Church of God disfellowships a person  that it has therapeutic benefits for the person and the congregations?  Treating people like shit and publicly humiliating them is therapeutic...who knew!

A sad but necessary function of ministerial authority is to disassociate certain individuals from regular fellowship.  The Bible shows the Church is to be clean (1 Corinthians 5:5; 2 Corinthians 6:14,    17; Ephesians 5:27).  Occasionally, it becomes necessary to initiate a therapeutic action for the good of an individual and the Church.  This action (hopefully temporary) is to expel a person who has brought sin into the congregation.  We understand that we are regularly dealing with persons who are at varying spiritual levels, including the following:

Faithful members Members who are very weak and may not be truly converted Non-members, some of whom:

• Understand but do not subscribe and are peaceable.
• Do not understand but are peaceable.
• Do not understand but are not peaceable.

Former members of the Church, some of whom:
• Wish to return
• May be vindictive

Do You Have Confidence You Can Go To Your LCG Regional Director About Issues With Your Pastor?

Ever since the Church of God instituted Regional Directors in the church hierarchy, they have been set up as the "go to" person if there is a member complaint about the pastor.

Just hows easy is that to do?  Do you feel your Regional Director would actually listen to you without any recrimination?  Do you think your local pastor would treat you differently once he is corrected by a regional director?

We all know the answer to those questions.  We have all witnessed the reactions of Regional Directors to member complaints.  The member is kicked out!

Notice #5 below....how well has that worked for you?

Here are some of the specific duties a Regional Pastor (or Regional Director) fulfills:

1. Provides support by giving counsel, direction, and encouragement to Pastors in fulfilling their responsibilities.

2. Is a Pastor-at-large for the Pastors and Elders who seek or desire spiritual counsel and direction from within the region.

3. Knows the leading men in the region, to be able to encourage manpower development and have a basis for ordination recommendations.

4. Fulfills administrative responsibilities of reports, divorce and remarriage review and decisions, and ordination recommendations.

5. Listens to and seeks to resolve complaints or appeals from the brethren regarding their Pastor or Church area.

6. Supports the Area Pastor when he, the Area Pastor, is unsuccessful in mediating or resolving conflicts among the brethren in his Pastorate.

7. Communicates with the Director of Church Administration regarding the needs and spiritual health of the region.
