When the ministry left the Worldwide Church of God, they became ministers of another church.What occurred under Tkachism, was the PUSH away from assembling as the Worldwide Church of God.The start of these C.O.G groups, is essentially a net used to keep people from assembling as the Worldwide Church of God. That name is often TARNISHED as a "previous association", and is used simultaneously with the label of APOSTASY, in order to show the necessity of these new groups and why you should stick with them.What we see in these C.O.G groups are the membership of the Worldwide Church of God assembling under the ADMINISTRATORS who were appointed under the end time Moses, Herbert W. Armstrong. They are giving a false report against that ASSEMBLY that was under Mr. Armstrong, saying our foes are too great to overcome as that ASSEMBLY. The goal is TOO HARD TO REACH, they say, as that Assembly.So God has allowed a period of time, where these ADMINISTRATORS who were in the Worldwide Church of God, to go away into the wilderness as shepherds, and those who BELIEVE THE FALSE REPORT are going with them.What then is left, are TWO WITNESSES, whose testimony PRESERVES that Assembly back in Petra, and after this period of time in the wilderness(we are coming to a close of 40 years now) Christ is calling on us to ASSEMBLE AS WE WERE ASSEMBLED UNDER HERBERT W ARMSTRONG. This is my latest 22-page article titled, Introduction for Becoming a "Can Do" Person. You have basically two choices in life: Which do you want? Do you want to do what's right and "good," living God's way, of loving and obeying your awesome Creator, and loving your neighbor as yourself, doing God's will in your life, obeying every word of the Holy Bible? I do. Do you want to become a real and true Christian, a child of God? I do. Or, do you want to live the other way of life, Satan's (our adversary's) wrong way, the way of hatred and violence, the way of lust and greed, of envy and strife, of competition, the way this wrong world is going, just going along with the crowd because it is easy, like a dead fish 🐟 swimming 🏊♂️ downstream?

This will be very hard to do (obeying every word) as different words applied to different peoples at different times and places. Thus, God does not require obedience to every word of the Bible we are required to be more discerning. One likes the enthusiasm however.

Doesn't it seem logical to think that Aaron knew he was not a Joshua. God inspired Moses to give Joshua a charge, after about 40 years of clearly being servant to Moses. That was God's choice. God worked through one: Moses. Why not ask Aaron: "Where is God's Government on earth today?" You may get a surprising answer.

HWA gave us milk of the word, lots of junk food prophecies (including some unsound doctrines from Satan/his angels - Revelation 2-3), and very little strong meat:
Heb 5:11 "Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe."
And apparently these "Kitchens" don't believe Paul's words of: "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;..." 2 Cor 5:19
Do the Kitchens believe God will be unfaithful relative to that reconciling? If yes, that is an unsound doctrine. Where HWA taught sound doctrine: keep the good! Where HWA taught unsound doctrine: replace it with sound doctrine! There is no need to blame, judge, accuse others as being insane, almost into some sort of a "hell," just b/c we don't agree with everything that comes out of the Kitchen, but...

We've seen so many ridiculous ravings of people who no longer have a church that they had imagined was actually God's. It died before it did what it was supposed to do, and they just can't deal. This is Herbert W. Armstrong's legacy. It is the permanent damage he has done to people.
David ben Ariel was an activist who got kicked out of Jerusalem. Towards the end of his life (he died of AIDS), he went on a writing campaign, informing German officials that they had a prophetic duty to fulfill. He also wrote to Arnold Schwarzenegger to see if he had any interest in becoming "the Beast".
There were those with secret theories that the Egrets were going to come to life and fly the church to the place of safety, and those who thought the Germans would preserve the AC Pasadena campus to use as their headquarters during the tribulation.
Back in the '50s and early '60s, some church members believed that GTA's two deaf sons would be supernaturally healed, and would become the two witnesses. How many "two witnesses" have cropped up over the decades? Is there anyone touched by Armstrongism who did not wonder if they, or their children might end up being these two witnesses?
In fact there has been an endless chain of people who thought they got the math right, or had it all figured out, and that they were not like the other kookaboos. Except they were. We have little Nazis running around, and people who ran off and joined militias. HWA wrote about the proverbial square pegs in round holes, yet how many young people whose talents lay elsewhere did he press into his sainted ministry?
Ascetics, martyr types, obsessive-compulsives, people with delusions of grandeur, and many who have suffered tragedy or have conditions for which they desperately crave healing have all been drawn to Armstrongism because it appeared to provide a focus for their lives. Some of those people were our parents and dragged us right along with them and expected us to catch the vision, to "get" it.
The fact is, time did tell! Armstrongism was not what the advertiser said it would be, and that's why it never delivered! It did not deliver because it cannot deliver. People who thought they were tuned into the modern world because they had their radio on some night out on the highway got taken for a strange and bizarre ride, and many have never recovered. Imagine if HWA's punishment were that he was sentenced to live on as some sort of helpless ghost, and was forced to watch the horrible lasting effects of his life on his followers' lives. Wouldn't that be truly karmic!

I am in my 60's and I have just come to grips with what HWA and Worldwide effects were on my life. My Dad passed away somewhat unaware of the damage it caused him and the unnecessary estrangement from his family. HWA destroyed Or damaged countless families, including his own. Yet we still see people trying to glorify his cult of personality like That of Stalin or Kim Il Sung. I think too many think if they do this they can succeed him in his former position of power. Flurry has sure set himself up as a little tyrant.

As long as the disgusting and nauseating class system is in place in God's church there will be NO PEACE and NO AT-ONE-MENT. There should be NO headquarters churches and no one man rule anywhere in the one, true Church of God. Yet, those who are supposed to be "servants" (true overseers and true elders/teachers) still can't see it because their minds have been purposely blinded to the truth of servant governance. It appears that Jesus Christ will be the one and only one who will one day solve this problem!
Whoever wrote this article is as deceived as ever! God destroyed the WCG for various reasons: heresy and the march toward mainstream "churchianity" was just part of it. The other part was/is the disgusting pagan hierarchy still in place in most of the larger groups and even in some of the smaller ones. When will brethren every get it? When will the "so-called" non-leaders get it? Even the angel in Rev. 22:8-9 who told John that he (a very powerful angel) was his "fellow servant". WAKE UP brethren and get your act together!
I never met or knew Aaron back in the day, or his brother Kevin. I did speak with their stepdad about a motorcycle he had which had been disassembled for rebuild and had set for several years. A buddy of mine at AC borrowed it several times years before, so we were familiar with it, and it would have been a very desirable acquisition. But, alas, he knew what he had.
I tend to think that Aaron had made an informed decision regarding the opportunity to become HWA's successor, and that should be respected. HWA obviously did not insist, so who are the Kitchen family to attempt to twist his arm now at this late date? Robert Frost wrote a poem about The Road Not Taken. How could we possibly know what Aaron Dean might have done as Pastor General of the WCG? For him, it was the road not taken. Obviously, he knew himself and his talents and limitations better than any others could possibly know him, and turned the opportunity down for his own reasons. Being around HWA, he also knew more about HWA's mental condition than the typical church member of the day, and much about church politics, and the old guard who most likely would never respect him, because they had been passed over for the promotion. I would think loyalists would respect Aaron for not being the one to cause the demise of the WCG.
It's useless to fantasize about him. The funny thing is, Dave Pack, as part of his resume, claimed to have the closeness to HWA that Aaron actually had, and look at the whole RCG rabbit hole that has swallowed up those who followed him! The God-ordained time and date stamp for WCG had expired. No human could have prevented its demise.

My brother needs a lot of prayers. I do not have the approach nor direction Sam has. To be included with his spinning off into orbit, saddens me. I am not my brother. He has his own ideas, and wants to see it through. That I do give him. But what are our ideas outside of God's? I pray for him.
Tim, I'm going sidebar from the existing discussion to say that both you guys have always impressed me as not being malicious, and in your visits to this site you explained your positions without going on the attack.
I hope each of you will find peace, freedom, and a renewed sense of brotherly love. Our past common religious experiences have affected each of us in myriad ways. Sometimes the path to a future blurs. Best wishes in sorting this out.
