Apostle Malm: Is It Better To Keep the Feast In A Local Barn Than A Resort?

The apostle has been telling his followers that they need to be taking off two days for the Feast of Trumpets.  The reasoning behind that is that if the new moon is not sighted on the scheduled day, that it will happen on the next day and since you will already have it off, you will be safe in God's sight and not horribly embarrassed.

He also is trying to wean is followers away from resort Feast sites because of all the temptation to stray from God's path during those eight days.  There too, he is encouraging an extra day to be added on to the Feast.  Your boss is really going to love that!

He writes:

The seventh month begins with the NM which is also a High Day. When the NM is seen that High Day begins, not before. The concept is simple: If it doesn’t happen today, it will happen tomorrow!

It is only prudent to take two days off work to avoid any embarrassment, just in case Trumpets is not on the day calculated; that does NOT mean that Trumpets is two days as teh Rabbins say. trumpets is only One day!

There is then plenty of time to set the other Festival dates; an din any case there would at the max be only a one day difference between calculated and observed and in the vast majority of case the NM would be seen as calculated.

The real issue is around today’s resort non Feasts which are vacations with the excuse of a biblical Feast. If we all camped on a local farm and met in the barn and truly kept the Feast rejoicing together; what would it matter if we stayed a day beyond what we calculated?

Today people rush home, even travelling on the Eighth Day; what a shame! I would expect that if someone declared the feasts not necessary a very large number would not attend. Most people are doing what they are told and not because they love pleasing God, or because these festival messages are so inspiring. James

Yes, well, the Day of Atonement is kept two days by the Jews, so I suppose to be really safe, we should keep it 4 days.

Remember, no food or water for half a week!

I hope he wasn't wearing mixed-fiber garments when he wrote that.

But would it be OK to drink a little Miracle Holy Water during that half a week?

I realize James Malm's ideas of how to "keep the Feast" has little to do with this latest story of one of the Holy Spirit's amazing "miracles", but the story is quite "amazing", so I'll share it here.

It seems almost miraculous, how some people want to ascribe the label, "Holy Spirit miracle" to mundane occurrences.

Here's what happened among some Christians in India recently-

In Mumbai, India, "holy water" mysteriously began dripping from the feet of a statue of Jesus.
Hallelujah! It was a true "Holy Spirit miracle"!!!

The priest at Mumbai's Our Lady of Velankanni Church(along with leaders of various Catholic organizations) promoted it as a miracle.
True believers flocked to the statue to see the "Holy Spirit miracle"!!!
They consumed the Miracle Holy Water dripping from Jesus's feet, believing it would heal them of whatever ailed them.

But then, a very naughty non-believing man investigated, and found the "Holy Spirit Miracle Water" dripping from Jesus's feet was actually liquid from a leaking sewage pipe that ran under the statue!

So, were the people grateful for being shown they were drinking sewage?
NO!!! "Arrest that man!" was their response. The crime? Hurting their religious feelings. (I can just see their pouty-lips now.)

So Sanal Edamaruku, fearing what 'God's True Believer Bullies' may do to him, has fled to Finland, and will fight the charges from there.

Thanks, Norm.

You just reminded me to get kitty litter for Mikey today.

I'm sure as The Supreme Commander of the Supreme Cult and Presidential Candidate, Mikey probably has some miracles too, but I can't think of one right off.

He does like the neon lighted end of the 12 guage 20 amp power cord and thinks that's some sort of miracle as he chases it around.

He's simple and simple things make him think they are miracles, not unlike the Armstrongists.

But he's just a cat.

What's their excuse?

I think that people tend to more like Mikey than they'd care to admit.

(Please tell Mikey I mean him no offense! Offending a Supreme Cult Commander can be fraught with danger.)

Actually, it isn't. It is kept for about 25 hours. Even the most legalistic Jews, who (especially outside of Israel) add an extra day to many holy days, don't add an extra day to one that requires them to fast.

A two-day Atonement, then, would be right on par for the Malmites.

Yes, indeed, he has claws and fangs.

(Can the aging Armstrongists say as much? Should we fear them?)

If you live every single day as if it is special before God, walking in the Spirit, then you don't have to worry about all of this nonsense! The stuff Malm is advocating eventually gets one to the Isaiah 1 ritual without passion towards God attitude, or as Paul puts it, "places a burden on them that even our forefathers couldn't withstand."

Again, reading Galatians without looking through your Armstrong kaleidoscope can do wonders!

Close inspection will reveal that Gerald Flurry has claws and fangs.

Denny Luker has been de-fanged, but you still need to be careful, because he has a poison sac.

You don't have to keep the Feast in a barn, when you can attend the Feast in the Fruitland Bible Camp with the Seventh Day Church of God (non Armstrongist -- keeping the Feast predating Herbert Armstrong).

Of course, it's remote and it's rural, so it's not a barn but... it has some of the same charm. Armstrongists used to Corporate Resort Conference Facility type Feasts will be terribly disappointed that there are no shopping malls, 5 star restaurants, 5 star hotels, no motels even, no rides for the kiddies. Nope. Not much to do but fellowship, study the Bible, have sermons and special presentations in the Tabernacle, eat in the common area with meals prepared by members and ministers and spend the time learning about God and Jesus Christ. It would be a terrible experience for an Armstrongist who is rich and increased in goods and having need of nothing. The disappointment is not recommended for all those who are addicted to the lies of British Israelism, false prophecies and bogus church history. (Just so you know, I'm not going.)

Malm has absolutely nothing to offer.

Why does anyone bother with this fool?

What am I going to do with all my "second tithe" when there's nothing to spend it on? Give the "excess" to the "ministers"? Not likely!

I haen't been to a Feast in over 40years. Don't miss them one bit, but they were so much a part of my life that I still dream about going to a feast once in a great while. Been quite some time now since I've had one of those mild nightmares.

Have your fun being miserable, Malm. I still can't figure out who that pompous fool is. I'm rather sure I never met him or heard him.

I've checked out this fool's website--I mean, how many followers does he have,100 if he's lucky? He's hardly worth all the entries and posts he's being given here.
He's using a very common cult tool--the us against them tactic---"we got the truth--the other churches don't so expect to be reviled and persecuted--the Bible tell us this was going to happen---in the last days."

MY COMMENT: And now he's been given another one.
