The Chief Pharisee of the Churches of God has been posting a lot of useless drivel lately on various topics on how he interprets the Bible to fit HIS legalistic desires. On October 20, 2015 James Malm made the following statement:
Now subtracting 42 months (1260 days) shows that this final beast emperor will occupy Jerusalem, beginning at the end of 2017.
Given the historical difficulties of the Greek struggles it is possible that this date might be in error by a year or two, but one thing is certain; IT IS VERY CLOSE INDEED!
These are indications of the nearness of the times; they are not dates certain until proved by the appearance of ALL of the Biblical signs.
At the present time the British people have been promised a referendum on continued EU membership before the end of 2017 with French and German elections scheduled for Sep / Oct 2017.
Britain is highly likely to leave the EU, but exactly how long that process takes is unclear; and certain other countries are likely to follow, creating a crisis in the EU and opening the way for the setting up of the miracle working deceiver in the Vatican in late 2017, who will immediately call for and bring about the rise of a New Europe; the seventh revival of the Scarlet Beast of the Holy Roman Empire.
This man of sin will then go to the Holy Place [Temple Mount] 75 days after being set up in the Vatican and the great tribulation of Mat 24:15 will begin.
Along with this is the coming defeat of radical Islam and a move towards a Mideast peace deal 1 Thess 5:3.
These events are right in line with a date of late 2017 for the start of the tribulation; followed by the coming of Messiah 42 months later; in 2021 AD!
Brethren, the writing is on the wall!
Hat-tip to Connie for sending this. I read most of that blog entry by the Chief Pharisee when he published it, but it was filled with the same useless drivel that I never made it to the end. Its another missive filled with death, damnation and gloom. Three topics that seem to occupy the minds of the legalistic Armstrongites regardless of which splinter sect they are in. These guys all seem to take great delight in wishing their god to wipe humanity off the face of the earth...except of course their little remnant of the frozen chosen.
The lake of fire would be a welcome reprieve if one had to dwell in the kingdoms of most of these guys.

NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR...
unless your name is James Malm!
Jewish interpretations of the biblical geneologies indicate that year 6,000 from Adam and Eve is still about 200 years from now. And, 6,000 years for man-1,000 for God is just a theory, part of the HWAcaca. A lot of things, both good and bad, will be happening in the future, as they always do according to the law of averages and probability, but, the Armstrong prophecy mold is not one of them.
Had Jesus' return been a matter of math applied to a 7 millennial plan, then Jesus would have known exactly when He was going to return as He was teaching His disciples. Trying to reverse-engineer this during our times is understandable, but also futile and ridiculous.

James Malm. Self-proclaimed apocalyptic doomsday prophet and cultlet poo-bah.
None of this stuff is ever going to happen. It's been "right around the corner" since the 1st century. Except it hasn't ever been "close" and there's no good reason to expect anything but that christianity is just one more ancient religion based around a cult figure. What messiah or savior has ever returned to save his favored people and doom the rest? None! Why should this one be any different. The bible might as well be Hemmingway or James Joyce. Interesting reads, but not something to foretell the future by. James Malm's superstition is no different than occult superstition. He's using the bible like a Ouija board. Insanity.
I wonder how the solar eclipse of Aug. 2017 factors into all of this....
Mark 13:32
“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Why cant people just accept the scriptures
If the naked James Malm, like an Emperor without clothes, can unravel the following two verses to reveal the identity of the Beast, well, then he can get fully clothed and he may then strive to inform the Beast about his speculative timing:
"And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads." Rev 12:3
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." Rev 14:1
John
When a Jewish young man wants to propose to a girl he brings to her some money, a contract(covenant) and a glass of wine. She counts the money, reads the contract, looks at the young man and if she agrees, she drinks the wine to seal the covenant. Then the man goes to his father's house to prepare a place for her. Only when the Father says that the structure is up to standards does he say to the son, "go get your bride." The price has been paid by the blood of Christ. He is preparing a place for us. He will come for his bride. Only the Father knows when that will be. When the bridegroom comes for his girl, a shout is given out to warn her. She has her oil lamps ready to join him. Those whose lamps were not ready could not join then in their walk in the dark over rocky roads and were left out of the wedding. The bride wears a veil indicating that she is single. A week later she and her husband make their appearance after their marriage has been consummated and the celebration begins. The marriage supper begins and the bride is now without her veil. It is not difficult to see the analogies between the proposal, wedding, etc and the way Jesus paid the price, goes to prepare a place for us, returns unannounced, takes his bride, the church away for seven years, returns for a wedding banquet, etc.
Well, at least he's giving himself a 6 year delay before he has to go through the contortions of conjuring up his next date and excuse
I'm currently reading "When Prophecy Fails" by Leon Festinger, Henry W. Riecken and Stanley Schachter. It covers this little group who believed that a flood would cover the earth and that flying saucers would come to pick up those who were 'chosen'.
The whole thing is sad and pathetic. Delusional people were trying to make sense out of total nonsense which was just made up.
It would be an interesting challenge for any of the Armstrongists to explain how they are one whit different. Sure, the beliefs are different, but the behavior is much the same.
Armstrongism is a cult. It is sad, pathetic, dysfunctional. The people are delusional and even the benign seeming of the many sects are harmful, if in no other way than being mentally unhealthy.
The kicker to all this is that the Armstrongists want to believe some how that they are different and special. Out of all the nuts and loonies, they are the only ones who have the truth and are the sole proprietors of the one and true religion.
However, we've proved that British Israelism is ridiculous, the prophecies based on it have all failed and will continue to fail, it is racist, it has been demonstrated that Herbert Armstrong committed incest with his daughter for the first 10 years of his ministry, that he was a boozing alcoholic, a liar, false prophet and con man and that his trained minions have replicated his errors, introducing many of their own. The narcissism of the elite makes the whole venue one of dysfunctional despotism creating havoc for the 'stepped on' while the 'middle class' doesn't seem to realize just how bad it is at its worst.
There is absolutely no socially redeeming value to it and it has a negative (though negligible) impact on the world. It is a total waste of time and, worse than that, high maintenance for those who get caught in the crosshairs of the sociopaths populating the whole of its society: Unethical, immoral, (often) illegal leaders (and members) wanting to be superior and special when they are nothing but maddeningly pathetic.
In the end, including this particular piece of nonsense, it all adds up to nothing.
The most frustrating part of it is that Armstrongists continue to wallow in the cesspool and make excuses for the abundant and obvious failures.
"I wonder how the solar eclipse of Aug. 2017 factors into all of this...."
I too wonder how the solar eclipse of Aug. 2017 factors into a false prophecy made by self-appointed zealot.
Oh, wait...
I don't understand why they are so excited about it when they clearly don't have their shit together. If Christ returned now, or in the near future, they would be out of time to repent and make some attempt to stop being greedy liars who bully their brethren. The alternative doesn't look too good for them!
“Its a FACT! Jesus is Coming in 2021!!!!! BRETHERN, THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL!”
CORRECTION: It is a FIB!!!!!!! BRETHERN, James Malm is “OFF THE WALL!!!”
You know, when I finally came to my senses, and knew we weren't the "called generation" who would flee to Petra and watch the world crash and burn, I could finally just sit back and relax and live my life out without that hanging over my head. True, it would have been very science fictionish to see it play out like the COG's preached, but crap, that's for far younger folks. Let me just live my life out, no more unleavened bread, 3 tithes, and whole wheat bread. I'll be happy for those other guys to keep that fairy tale alive, on the razors edge of stress and insanity!
anonymous 4:50, are your trying to say that God is Jewish? Somehow I doubt it, why would he have to be involved in some tribal marriage rite with us? Or is Jesus and God the same person, and Jesus was a Jew, so is God a Jew?

Man this is the ugliest website I have ever come across. Not only is it full of a bunch of whiners that think they are the saviours of mankind, but the ugliness reflects in the factless articles that are regularly posted to decieve.
There is no real attention to detail, just look at the backround image as a quick example, and how fuzzy it is, no clarity just like everything else thats posted here. No attention to detail, just "lets find some bullshit to post so we can get a reaction".
What you need to do is get away from these generic websites like blogger and spend some money on a decent site so people can see that you're serious. But then again if you dont want to spend money on a quality template that explains to everyone your lack of enthusiasm to post quality articles as well. You need to take a really good look at yourselves and get rid of that big pussed up pimple on the tip of your nose.
I'm saying that Jesus was a Jew, lived like a Jew, and used expressions that are better understood if we understand some of the Jewish customs.
Yes, Jesus was a Jew. Jesus clearly identified with the Jews of His day, His physical people and tribe, and their religion. God purposely sent Him to Judah: “He came to His own [Judah], and His own [Judah] did not receive Him. (John 1:11-12), and He clearly said, "You [Gentiles] worship what you do not know; we [Jews] know what we [Jews] worship, for salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22).
The very first verse of the New Testament clearly proclaims the Jewish ethnicity of Jesus. “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham” (Matthew 1:1). It is evident from passages like Hebrews 7:14, “For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah,” that Jesus descended from the tribe of Judah, from which we get the name “Jew.”
Both of Jesus' parents had “done everything required by the Law of the Lord” (Luke 2:39).
He regularly attended synagogue (Luke 4:16), and His teaching was respected by the other Jews of His day (Luke 4:15). He taught in the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem (Luke 21:37), and if He were not a Jew, His going into that part of the Temple would simply not have been allowed (Acts 21:28-30).
He wore tzitzit (tassles) on His clothing (Luke 8:43; Matthew 14:36) to serve as a reminder of the commandments (Numbers 15:37-39). He observed Passover (John 2:13) and went up to Jerusalem (Deuteronomy 16:16) on this very important Jewish pilgrimage feast day. He observed the feast of tabernacles (John 7:2, 10) and went up to Jerusalem (John 7:14) as required in the Torah. He also observed Hanukah, the festival of lights (John 10:22) and probably Rosh Hashanah, the feast of trumpets (John 5:1), going up to Jerusalem on both those occasions as well, even though it isn't commanded in the Torah. Clearly, Jesus identified Himself as a Jew (John 4:22) and as King of the Jews (Mark 15:2). To better understand some of what he said it helps to understand the culture and figures of speech that he used, etc.
So Jesus was a Jew and born a Jew etc. but surely God is not a Jew. Why would God have to conform to some human religion even if it did come from his chosen people. I hope God is bigger than that. Adam wasn't a Jew either, or Noah. I know these people might just be biblical myths, but I am presuming they existed.
I know WCG was pro-Jewish and really wished they were Jews, and even believed in British Israelism so that they could be Israelites - and even better than Jews - children of Joseph. It was a bit embarrassing for me as a child when I said to people that I was not a Jew but I was an Israelite. When I went to Israel people didn't seem to believe it either, I mean real Jews didn't accept me as one of them.
If God has a purpose for humanity, it has to be for all, not just select groups. Christianity came from Judaism, but as some have pointed out Jesus was a Jew not a christian.......neither of these religions seem very attractive and somehow don't seem to represent God (to me).
Since they believe that the New Covenant is just the Old Covenant, only introducing a Savior, shouldn't Malm and the ACOGs be dressing and grooming like them there Hayseed Jews who kind of look like B.O. Plenty in the old Dick Tracy comic strip?
Also, an opened confidential message to Anonymous 5:08: Who cares what you think. We're having fun!!! Also, some people might become free from the shackles of Armstrongjism as a result. Go let gas at someone else's party!

Amon 5:08. It's a blog and not a web site. Go complain to Blogger which is owned by Google.
I notice that you had nothing constructive to say or made any attempt to disproved the post yet got pissy over mechanics. Typical superficial Armstrongite.
The truth is that all Armstrongists ignore the facts and have the default fall back position to magic When Prophecy Fails.

"....Jesus was a Jew not a christian......"
Yet we find that his followers were called Christians as in:-
"Act 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."
Surely this would indicate Jesus was a Christian or, at the very least, a Messianic Jew, although I have never heard Him referred to as such.

Do we have agreement then that a Jew is a descendant of Judah and not of any of the other Israelite tribes such as Ephraim, Reuben, Gad etc.
Surely Jesus was born a Jew for the kings of Israel all came from Judah and He was born to be a King.
see:- "Mat 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

'Hanuka' doesn't seem to be a Torah commandment but surely 'Rosh Hashanah' is.
see:-
"Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts."
and
"Lev 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation."
and
"Num 10:8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance FOR EVER throughout your generations."
Is there any part of 'for ever' that can't be understood? Remembering:-"Gal_3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
and if you are Abraham's seed (offspring) and heirs then you are an Israelite and subject to the laws of Yehovah.(Ha Olam)

Anon 5:08...All I could think of while reading your comment was how petty, childish and stupid it sounded, you actually should feel embarrassed. Other than that, BYker Bob at 10:23 says it perfectly..
Israel is the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
The Church is not spiritual Israel.
Gal.3:29 says that those who belong to Christ are Abraham’s seed. The seed of Abraham does not mean one is Israel. It means those who are justified by faith are spiritual descendants of Abraham but this does not make them descendants of Jacob, who is Israel though they partake in the spiritual blessings that come through Israel. Not all the natural descendants of Jacob were embraced in this “Israel;” for that “they are not all Israel, which are of Israel” (Rom. 9:6). As Paul already declared in an earlier chapter: “He is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly” (Rom. 2:28, 29).Gal. 3:7 “Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham." Being a son of Abraham does not make one a Jew, being a son of Jacob does.
Gal. 3:26-29 “And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Gal. 3:29). So those who accept the Gospel both Jews and Gentiles are of Abraham's seed, but only those who are physically Israel are from Jacobs seed.
Rom.9:6-8 that there are two Israel's, one that consists of Jews and the elect, the true Israel which are the physical posterity and also have the faith of Abraham, they are the Israel of God mentioned in Gal.6. As Paul states, “ for they are not all Israel who are of Israel” (Rom.9:6). The Church is never called spiritual Israel. The word Israel is used 73 times in the New Testament, not once is it used A believing Gentile becomes a spiritual son of Abraham which is an inheritor of the spiritual blessings God promised to the Jews, they are grafted into the covenant he made with Israel.

"The Church is not spiritual Israel."
I believe the Church of Yehovah IS 'spiritual Israel' and Gal:329 confirms that.
see also:
"Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. [Who was an Israelite]
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. [An israelite by adoption]
Also:
"an inheritor of the spiritual blessings God promised to the Jews."
Would you quote those blessings from scripture and to whom those original blessings were promised? To Abraham or to Judah?
and
"they are grafted into the covenant he made with Israel."
Consequently becoming Israelites. See Gal.3:28 above.

So, who were the "natural descendants" of Jacob and,
what do you think is meant by:-
"Gen_48:16 The Angel which redeemed me [Jacob/Israel] from all evil, bless the lads;[Ephraim & Manesseh] and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."

Ralph, the Jews seem to have been fairly careful in preserving their heritage and religion at least until the past few generations. Most people are willing to believe that they are Jacob's children. But you are bringing up Ephraim and Manasseh, sons of Joseph who were to become a multitude. Of course we know WCG thought they were Britain and America which may fit nicely with some Biblical prophecies and was the basis of WCG interpretations. The trouble is that after scientific advancement in DNA analysis it is virtually impossible for the anglo saxons and other European nations to be related to the Jews. I believe this is using studies based on the Y chromosone which is fairly easy to follow.
Some people persist in believing in British Israelism, I am not sure how they justify this. Is it possible that they are thinking it is thru mitochondrial DNA from the female side? If this were even possible to prove - that Israelite women continued the lost 10 tribes, what happened to the men or did they all get slain somewhere along the line which would mean the great multitude was only 50% racially Israel? Plus there is no way your multitude in the midst of the earth could mean just the Jews. All this seems to invalidate the ideas on prophecy which WCG had.

"The trouble is that after scientific advancement in DNA analysis it is virtually impossible for the anglo saxons and other European nations to be related to the Jews."
As a 'creation' believer I cannot accept the so called 'scientific advancement' in DNA analysis.
Until 'Kingdom Come' there will always be those who do not believe in a Creator God, One who is superior to them. Some of these are involved with the 'sciences' including DNA investigation and will do their utmost to disprove 'true blue' Christian belief.
Once again I say "we all believe what we want to believe" and I'll repeat a quote previously posted with one word change that doesn't alter the meaning. It is this:
"I would rather live my life as if there is a Yehovah and die to find out there isn't, than live as if there isn't and to die to find out that there is.

In addition to that, soon after I departed the old WCG I read an article by one who continued with GCI. His 4 page article 'proved beyond all reasonable doubt' that there were only 9 Commandments and not 10. I wonder if that author had anything to do with DNA research. LOL.
and in addition to that:
"....it is virtually impossible for the anglo saxons and other European nations to be related to the Jews."
As a believer in the creation of Adam and Eve and that humanity is descended from them.we are all related to each other, none way or another

ok Ralph following up with my anonymous posts (anonymous for ease rather than having to set up id).
You are equating belief in the identity of Israel with the existence of God. There is no relationship between the two. Belief in God is perhaps certain to many, but involves some faith for most if they admit it. But it is also impossible to disprove the existence of God using any science currently available to us. On the other hand DNA evidence pretty much disproves British Israelism. It is different to have faith in something which cannot be disproved like the existence of God.
The human genome has been sequenced, we now know how genetics works and what causes many inherited diseases. Sure we still get sick and we still die etc., but that doesn't invalidate the knowledge we have.
So I just have to conclude you are believing that Britain and America are part of the lost 10 tribes because it is convenient despite been scientifically very unlikely. And why would God who made man with an intelligent mind expect him/her to base huge prophecies on a fallacy disproved by science? Ah well there were plenty of people in the past who believed the earth was flat and accepted it on faith despite evidence.

"On the other hand DNA evidence pretty much disproves British Israelism."
So numerous people attest. Science, to some, can also be a matter of faith. I have not seen or read of any evidence that confirms the science of DNA is at all accurate.
also:
"Ah well there were plenty of people in the past who believed the earth was flat and accepted it on faith despite evidence."
There are also plenty of people who, both in the past and currently, accept the theory of Evolution, including many so called scientists. However I have read that some 'scientific people' are beginning to think they have been mistaken and that there is evidence of 'Intelligent design'.
eg. Scott Minnich
"You're just asking, can unintelligent undirected, unpurposed laws of chemistry and physics, chance and time produce things that are more sophisticated than the combined intellectual capacity of our engineering community at present. I think that's a valid question."
Minnich is an Associate Professor of Microbiology at the University of Idaho and believes that certain structures in nature are so complex that they could only have been designed by a Supreme Being."

BREAKING!
District Attorneys and criminal court clerks across the country are preparing for a flood of conviction reversals as the field of DNA analysis has just been thoroughly and completely discredited today on an Internet blog. It is unknown how Wall Street and global markets will react to this stunning exposure of DNA as junk science, as costs could run in to the trillions for health care and pharmaceuticals sectors which will now rethink the underlying basis of modern health care for the world's population. Until now the sequencing of the human genome had even been heralded as one of the most important innovations in modern medicine, but in the end, so-called scientists were finally cornered when a blog commenter averred that he personally had neither read or seen anything confirming the accuracy of DNA analysis.
Now, stay tuned for the weather!
i believe in dna science; if there are discrepencies, they are found in human nature, what tends to corrupt virtually everything that would otherwise have any merit...
