It's sad but true. 'Let no man take your crown' was written for good reason.
My first minister, on several occasions hinted that I had done something wrong, then verbally bashed me. The holy spirit explained his actions to me by speaking the words into my mind of 'fall by the way side, and I will stop hurting you.'
This minister was trying to rob me of my eternal life - the ultimate crime.
He is still a practising minister today in one of the XCOGs.

11:42. Your faith must really be shallow if Dennis and No2 have the ability to lead you astray. Poor thing.

"Why, yes, brethren. Romans 8:31-39 just doesn't apply to those in God's True Church."

Basically, that's what Armstrongite ministers are telling you in their attempt to justify their existence, and their so-called authority. They only understand maybe 2/3 of God, so they attempt to replace the Holy Spirit by scaring you and micro-managing your life.

In what way have Dennis and No2 led me or anyone else astray. Yours is the typical minister distrust of freedom. Rather, members beliefs must be lorded over, and exposure to competing ideas is not permitted.

I remind you that it's the ministers under Herbie who ruthlessly exploited the monopoly of ideas that members were exposed to. There was no internet to challenge their abusive cult practices. It's the ministers for instance who led members astray by teaching and practicing tyranny.

Herbs church would not have splintered if truth had been taught from the pulpit.

Members who are shallow are left alone by the ministers.
As they say, 'no one kicks a dead dog.'
Church crazies and the spiritually dead are a protected species in these churches.

You have minister's in churches of God saying things like "whatever a minister say you better do". I even heard Mr. Meredith say in a sermon when he was alive that it is better to go to the place of safety when instructed by the leader incharge even if that leader is wrong rather than staying behind and risk him being right. When I heard that my mouth dropped, didn't they learn anything from their past mistakes as a church, they should be humble by now and not so arrogant and demanding of blind obedience. To make things worst I went around asking members if the word to flee was given now if they would go and everyone I asked uncritically said yes. I don't agree with the atheistic postings in this site and believe that the site should remain focuse on exposing the toxins of Hwa influenced churches and their practices. But for someone to suggest everyone who visits this site is being led astray is not sound even hardcore COG members take a peep at this site from time to time as they learn of it. I believe that people who come on this site may even have more critical thinking skills than those stuck believing they are in the true Church.

There is no way of telling a 'joke' from genuine comments. There are ministers and church members who believe that this site leads members astray.
If you are telling the truth, your 'joke' is sick and cruel.

Armstrongism has been one long, painful practical joke. You can't lead people astray from a practical joke, but you can say "April Fool!".

Unfortunately, HWA made the ministers as much victims of the practical joke as are all the members! Que bummer!

Not all ministers lorded it over the flock. Most did, but not all. Ministers chose how to behave. So I don't see how they are victims.

It's all relative, 6:29. The basic Armstrong doctrines were "lording it over". This means that as compared to mainstream churches, even a "Laodicean" minister was still lording it over. Many ministers who were against this mandated authoritarian managing style exercised their freedom of choice by walking out in the so-called mass rebellion of the early '70s. To not "lord it over", a minister had to either be isolated, or he would have to also have a district supervisor who did not "lord it over". The standards were enforced from the top down.

I'm thinking of one minister I had who didn't lord it over members. But I think it was pure laziness on his part. He didn't care about the church. He was engrossed with his large family.
But church culture was to lord it over members. The bible was, and still is ignored.

aww schmucks, if i make dennis and no2hwa the centerpiece, the ones who agree with them gets offended, and if i state that i love dennis and no2hwa, then someone else gets offended. next time i ought to just shut up. i remembered that japanese guy in the Predators movie who had his two fingers cut off by yakuzas for talking too much. ok ok.. i love you everyone, i don't want to lose any fingers. peace to all my beloved brothers of the LCG, RCG, PCG, all the COGs, can't you just quit judging one another and be kind again? where is that guy with the long hair?
